Abstract In 2023, the Temporary Waste Disposal Site 3R facilities in Sukoharjo have shown varied performance, with 4 out of the 12 facilities operating at optimal levels. Among these, Temporary Waste Disposal Site 3R Anugrah Palur stands out as one of the facilities functioning efficiently. This research aims to investigate the waste management mechanisms and strategies for waste reduction implemented at Temporary Waste Disposal Site 3R Anugrah Palur. To achieve this, a mixed-methods approach was employed, encompassing load count analysis, as well as observations and interviews with key stakeholders. The findings of the study revealed that over a span of eight days, Temporary Waste Disposal Site 3R recorded an average daily waste generation of 724.76 kg. This equates to an average household waste production rate of 2.07 kg per family per day, or 0.69 kg per individual. The facility demonstrated a high recovery factor of 89.11%, successfully managing to process and reduce 645.86 kg of waste each day. These results highlight the effectiveness of the waste management practices at Temporary Waste Disposal Site 3R Anugrah Palur and provide valuable insights into efficient waste reduction strategies that can be applied in similar contexts.
