The Role of Government and Community Collaboration in the Implementation of Waste Management Policies in Palu City

Waste management is a crucial issue for the growing city of Palu. Collaboration between the government and the community is the key to effective and sustainable waste management policy implementation. This study aims to describe the collaborative role between the government and the community in the implementation of waste management policies in Palu City. The method used is descriptive, with data collection through observation, in-depth interviews with relevant parties, and analysis of waste management policy documents. The data obtained was analysed qualitatively to provide an overview of the dynamics of collaboration that occurred. The results showed that the Palu City government has played a role in formulating policies, providing waste management facilities and infrastructure, and building a supportive regulatory framework. The government also initiated waste management programmes such as waste banks and temporary disposal sites (TPS)). On the other hand, the role of the community is seen through active participation in these programmes, as well as involvement in waste reduction and recycling activities in their respective neighbourhoods. Nonetheless, challenges are still faced, including the low level of public awareness, the lack of supporting facilities, and inadequate law enforcement. This study concludes that good collaboration between the government and the community is essential in achieving more effective waste management in Palu City. Strengthening collaboration through education, improving facilities, and consistent law enforcement are needed so that waste management policies can be implemented optimally.

THE SIMPLEX - PREEMPTIVE GOAL PROGRAMMING WITH BRANCH AND BOUND METHOD FOR OPTIMIZING WASTE VEHICLE ROUTES AND TRANSPORTATION

This research discusses the optimization of the assignment of waste vehicle routes and transportation, which are responsible for transporting waste from temporary disposal sites to final disposal sites. The aim is to minimize the remaining waste at temporary disposal sites, thus creating a clean and comfortable environment. The focus of this research is determining the number of trips (rit) for each vehicle (dump trucks and arm roll trucks) on each route. Besides aiming to minimize the remaining waste at temporary disposal sites as the main priority, there are also other priorities, namely minimizing fuel usage and the working time within a day. Therefore, in accordance with the characteristics of the problem, where there are multiple objectives and an integer solution is required, The Simplex-Preemptive Goal Programming with the Branch and Bound method is proposed as the solution method. The optimal solution has been obtained. The result includes the optimal number of trips (rit) for each waste transport vehicles (dump trucks and arm roll trucks) on each routes.

Waste Management in Masnana Village, Namrole Subdistrict, South Buru Regency

This study aims to identify and analyze waste management in Masnana Village, Namrole District, South Buru Regency. The main focus of the research is the behavior of the community in managing waste and the stages of waste management from generation to final disposal. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The results show that the main sources of waste in Masnana Village come from households, restaurants, schools, and lodging, as well as natural factors and human activities. Waste generation is measured by weight and volume per person per day, with an average waste weight of 0.35 kg and volume of 25 liters per person per day. The types of waste produced are divided into organic and inorganic waste, with the majority of organic waste still being burned (73.33%) and most inorganic waste also being burned (66.66%). On-site waste management involves the reuse of paint cans and beverage bottles. Waste collection is carried out to temporary disposal sites using a sorting bin system. Organic waste processing is carried out through composting, although many residents still prefer burning. Electronic waste is managed by selling, repairing, or burying it. Final disposal is handled by the Public Works Department to the Piyungan landfill. This study highlights the importance of community participation in waste management to reduce environmental impact and extend landfill life

The Planning of Reduced, Reuse, and Recycle-Based Temporary Disposal Site

Abstract The community-based waste management methods through reduce, reuse and recycle-based temporary disposal sites (3R-TDS) was one of the possible municipal solid waste management strategies for reducing the volume of waste. The aims of this studied were to planned and design 3R-TDS in densely populated areas by combining various 3Rbased waste management methods for obtaining a reducing volume of municipal solid waste to FDS. This studied was conducted into five main steps, that were collected primary data, calculated the density and composition of municipal solid waste, designed the 3R-TDS to determine the appropriate space based on functional processing. The results had identified the waste generation 4,454.72 kg/day or 0.431 kg/person/day, and it was predicted up to 8,930 kg/day within 10 years. The highest percentage of municipal solid waste was organic food waste 58%, and the lowest composition was leather 0.2%. Design of 3R-TDS could been applied to managed municipal solid waste had been the concept of 3R-TDS leads to arrange 973 m2, which provided area for in ordered to facilitate dropping, separating, sorting, waste processing for plastic, inorganic, organic, residue, leachate, and supporting area.

Development of Automatic Object Detection and IoT for Garbage Pickup Assignment Problem

Waste management remains a challenge in certain cities, particularly in allocating fleets responsible for collecting garbage from temporary disposal sites. Inadequate planning can lead to the accumulation of substantial waste piles. This study aims to enhance truck assignment by considering truck capacity and the collection route. The assignment process incorporates the fundamental concept of the transportation problem, precisely the northwest corner method. The volume of waste transported aligns with the resident or industrial population within the designated service area. The waste generation capacity determines the future fleet and quantity, forming a crucial element of the ensuing distribution channel. A monitoring system integrating object detection and the Internet of Things (IoT) has been devised to ensure effective garbage collection. Cameras strategically positioned at temporary disposal sites transmit real-time images. The system evaluates garbage collection capacity through object detection facilitated by neural network training. The research outcomes demonstrate the system's capability to identify waste pile levels and validate the garbage pickup process by the designated fleet. Future research should focus on assignment and scheduling in waste transportation, enabling fleet allocation within specific timeframes. Additionally, an object detection algorithm refinement is necessary for more precise identification of waste pile locations.

Redesigning Municipal Waste Collection for Aging and Shrinking Communities

Due to aging and depopulation, cities in Japan struggle to maintain their municipal waste collection services. These challenges were exacerbated by the pandemic. To overcome these challenges, a prototype of collective and contactless waste collection technology has been developed. However, its acceptance by society is unknown. In this study, we surveyed Japanese people’s preferences regarding household waste disposal. The results showed that older adults (older than 60) are willing to walk longer (more than 2 min) to carry their waste to the disposal site than younger adults. They are also less concerned about the risk of disease infection from touching other people’s garbage than younger respondents (at a 0.24 count ratio). Other significant findings are that people who live alone prefer the temporary disposal site to be placed more than one minute away from their house (at a 0.19 count ratio). People living alone also produce less plastic and packaging waste than larger households. With more Japanese older adults living alone because of the scarcity of older-adult care facilities, we proposed two waste collection strategies that can allow for the implementation of more collective and automatized contactless waste pickup technology. Each design poses different challenges, such as the need for residents’ cooperation and a higher energy supply. However, they also open new opportunities, such as encouraging active aging and using renewable energy.

Evaluation of distribution and management of marine debris on the Pangandaran Coast

The increasing number of tourist visits and activities of coastal communities affects the distribution of marine waste on the Pangandaran coast, resulting in waste generation that pollutes the coastal environment. This is due to a lack of awareness in disposing of waste in its proper place, a lack of cleaning facilities and a waste transport fleet by the Pangandaran district government. The aim of this research is to provide an evaluation regarding the distribution of marine waste and its management on Pantai Timur, Pantai Barat and Pantai Madasari. Using Survey Method and Driving Force-Pressure-State-Impact-Response data analysis. The research location was carried out in three locations, namely on the Pantai Timur, Pantai Barat and Pantai Madasari. The results of this research are that the distribution of marine debris on Pantai Timur, Pantai Barat and Pantai Madasari is categorized as moderate. This causes pressure on coastal areas where there is waste generation at several research stations. The most common type of waste is plastic waste with a percentage of 45-54% on Pantai Timur, 36-55% on Pantai Barat and 43-51% on Pantai Madasari. The type of waste that is least found is rubber with a percentage of 2-3%. The actions taken by Pangandaran Village and the Pangandaran Regency Environment and Hygiene Service (DLHK) are waste management using a collect-transport-dispose system, community service to clean the beach with the community on Fridays, and the availability of several rubbish bins at every distance of 10 meters. Waste management on Pantai Madasari is managed by the village government, where this authority is handed over to Village-Owned Enterprises using a collect-transport-dispose system and burned directly at the temporary disposal site (TPS).Keywords: Coastal; DPSIR; plastic; pollution; waste distribution

Analisis Pengelolaan Limbah Medis Padat Di Rumah Sakit Cinere Depok Tahun 2022 Berdasarkan Kepmenkes Nomor 1204/MENKES/SK/X/2004

A health facility is a meeting place for people who are affected by disease and who provide health services, as well as for people and their surroundings. Therefore, it can spread disease if the hospital environment conditions are inappropriate; one that is generated from the hospital is waste. The objective of this study is to be able to find out the analysis of the management of solid medical waste at the Puri Cinere Depok Hospital in 2022. The results of the research on solid medical wastes have been carried out in accordance with the operational standards contained in the Sanitation Hospital according to Kemenkes No. 1204/MENKES/SK/X/2004. The purpose of the clearance is to make disposal and destruction easier so that there are no mistakes in the final process. The collection of waste from the hospital to the B3 temporary storage facility is carried out so that the waste is properly sorted before being placed in the temporary shelter so that it can be disposed of and handled properly in the final process. The disposal used for the disposal of waste at the temporary disposal site is good because it has already carried out the sorting well and adjusted the operational standards for the containers used. The transportation carried out by Cinere Depok Puri Hospital has been in accordance with the procedures established by the government, as the transportation is carried out by Oxularry officers with self-protection equipment provided for safety in transportation, either from the room to the storage site or from the warehouse to the final disposal site. The collection to the final disposal site from the temporary storage site is sufficiently good, as it is sorted and weighed before being taken to the last disposal place. The final disposal or disposal of waste is already working together with PT. Prasadha Pamunah Limbah Industri (PPLi) because it does not have an inquirer and land for disposal, so the Hospital Puri Cinere Depok uses a third party that has been authorized and certified, but for wastewater management, it has been assured that it can be itself because it already has the equipment.

Analisis Sanitasi Lingkungan Berdasarkan Tempat Pembuangan Sementara (TPS) Sampah pada Rumah Kos Wilayah Kota Semarang

Sanitation of public places is one of the efforts that can be made to maintain cleanliness. The minimum requirements for TTU sanitation are solid waste management, dirty water, and human excrement. Based on these sanitation requirements, there are still problems, namely many boarding houses whose garbage containers do not meet the requirements. Open disposal of waste has the potential to pollute the environment and will have a negative impact on public health. The purpose of this research is to analyze the health impacts that will arise as a result of an open waste temporary disposal site. The method in this research is observation by collecting data. Sampling was carried out purposively which was in accordance with the research objectives, namely a sample of five boarding house in the city of Semarang. The observation results show that the boarding house environment has a problem with garbage. This is evident from the observation results which show that there are 4 out of 5 that do not have trash covers and 4 out of 5 boarding houses whose trash cans are breeding grounds for insects. Conclusion: Seeing these results, problems can arise in the surrounding environment and cause disease for residents who live in the boarding house. Therefore, the trash can and lid must be located together in every place. Suggestion: It is better if the owner can provide garbage facilities and trash covers at the boarding house so that the environment is clean, comfortable, and protected from animals that can cause disease.

Budidaya Maggot Lalat BSF: solusi limbah dan peningkatan pendapatan masyarakat Desa Bakalan

Bakalan Village, experiencing a significant increase in organic waste production, faces challenges in waste management due to the absence of a Temporary Disposal Site (TDS). This study investigates the implementation of Black Soldier Fly (BSF) maggot cultivation in Bakalan Village, Purwosari Subdistrict, Pasuruan District, East Java, as an innovative solution for organic waste management and an alternative income source. This community service program was initiated to provide training and insight to the village residents about the economic potential of BSF maggot cultivation. The activity involved 46 village residents and was conducted on July 5, 2021, introducing maggot cultivation techniques and their use as an alternative feed for livestock. The results indicate a reduction in the volume of organic waste in the village and an increased awareness among the community about the economic value of organic waste. Dried and further processed maggots showed an increase in selling price from IDR 8,000 to IDR 30,000 - IDR 40,000 per kilogram. This study highlights the link between sustainable waste management and local economic development, providing insights into BSF maggot cultivation practices as an effective method to reduce organic waste and increase the income of the residents in Bakalan Village.

Perencanaan Teknis Operasional Pengelolaan Sampah

BTN Rajawali Residence has 88 building units with type 45 (commercial), if the assumption is that each house is occupied by 5 people, 440 people will produce waste. BTN Rajawali Residence has waste problems such as the lack of available infrastructure so that many people throw garbage out of place. The purpose of this study is to identify waste generation, waste composition and analyze the existing conditions of waste management operational techniques in the housing and then plan waste management operational techniques. Sampling was carried out for eight (8) consecutive days in accordance with SNI 19-3964-1994 on methods of collection and measurement of urban waste and interviews for data collection on the existing conditions of technical waste management operations. The results of this study show that the waste generation of BTN Rajawali Residence Housing is 71.601 kg with an average of 11.934 kg/day/source which is equal to an average of 0.0850 kg/day/person. Based on the results of observations and interviews at the research location, the existing conditions of operational waste management techniques, the BTN Rajawali Resindence housing community has not implemented good waste management operational techniques according to existing regulations. Operational technical planning includes segregation, containerization, collection/transportation, processing and temporary disposal sites (TDS). The planned sorting is based on SNI 19-2454-2002 by sorting wet waste (organic), dry waste (inorganic) and residual waste by each household (from the source), referring to SNI 19-2454-2002 (procedures for urban waste management operational techniques) So, a container with a capacity of 40 liters is planned, with a barrel height of 60 cm, length 40 cm and width 40 cm. Then, it is planned for a waste transportation tool with a capacity of 200 kg of cargo, a tub height of 80 cm, a tub width of 130 cm and a length of 180 cm. The planned waste processing is composting with the individual method and the natural process with a composter barrel height of 50 cm diameter 30 cm. The TPS used to dispose of community waste is a communal TDS developed by the Government of the Environment and Forestry Service (GEFS) of Kendari City.

Policy Implementation Regarding Regional Waste TPA of Southwest Sumba Regency (Study at Southwest Sumba District Environmental Service)

Researchers conducted research at the Southwest Sumba Regency Environmental Service. This research aims to determine the implementation of government policy in the provision of regional waste final disposal sites in Southwest Sumba Regency along with the inhibiting factors. This research method is qualitative, with data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the research show that: (1) the implementation of the Southwest Sumba Regency Regional Regulation policy Number 12 of 2019 concerning Final Disposal Sites for regional waste in Southwest Sumba Regency has not been implemented, this is due to the communication and socialization aspect of reducing regional waste. Consistency is also still minimal because there have been no firm efforts to implement administrative sanctions for business actors who do not pay fees or people who throw rubbish at illegal waste dumping sites. Based on the research results, most of the human resources implementing this policy, especially supervisors, only have a bachelor's degree or equivalent at the Environmental Service of Southwest Sumba Regency. Limited budgets make it difficult to procure machines for waste recycling, considering that the price per unit is expensive and it is not yet possible to provide them to villages, sub-districts, and the, entire community in Southwest Sumba Regency. Facilities and infrastructure are also limited, as many tools are in a damaged condition. Temporary disposal sites in several sub-districts have limited waste capacity. In terms of organizational structure, there are Standard Operating Procedures related to the provision of Regional Waste Final Disposal Sites and fragmentation involving the Southwest Sumba Regency Environmental Service. (2) Factors inhibiting the implementation of policies regarding final waste disposal sites in Southwest Sumba Regency, low public awareness of waste disposal, lack of firmness in implementing sanctions, lack of human resources, and budget limitations.

SWOT analysis to determine waste management strategy in Tenggilis Mejoyo District, Surabaya City

Tenggilis Mejoyo District, Surabaya City has had a population growth rate of 0,03% in the last ten years, so the amount of waste generation has also increased. Waste management in the district still applies the collect-and-dispose method which results in a large amount of waste that goes to the landfill. This study aims to examine the potential for household waste reduction that occurs in each waste source and determine strategies for improving household waste management. Waste generation data collection method with direct sampling method at the source according to SNI 19-3964-1994 as wee as interviews. The number of samples is 100 houses selected using a stratified random sampling approach which refers to the strata of population density. Interview data were analyzed using Strength Weakness Opportunity Threat (SWOT) analysis to determine waste management strategies to increase waste reduction at the source. The results of this study indicate that the average household waste generation is 15.62 tons/day. Currently, household waste reduction reaches 19.3% from each waste source, namely waste banks, temporary disposal sites (TPS), Reduce Reuse Recycle waste disposal site (TPS 3R), and composting. Increasing reduction through waste utilization and increasing community participation is ideally planned to reach 28.5%. The results of the SWOT analysis show that household waste management is in the third quadrant, namely the turn-around strategy. The strategies that can be implemented consist of conducting socialization and training for the community, providing waste pick-up mechanisms by waste banks, scheduling a waste collection, and implementing technical guidance and periodic monitoring by Environmental Agency and collaborating with corporations.

Evaluation of municipal solid waste transportation and cost analysis: case study in Banyuwangi Regency

Population growth in Banyuwangi Regency reached 0.61% BPS Banyuwangi Regency, 2022) with waste generation reaching 1,963,033.98 m3/year. Only 13% of the waste that is transported to the Temporary Disposal Site, TDS (RPJMD, 2021) is generated in Banyuwangi Regency in 2022; its waste generation in 2022 is 5378,2 m3/day with existing transportation using 17 units of dump trucks and 5 units of arm-roll trucks. The aim of this paper is to evaluate the most effective and optimal waste transportation system and estimate vehicle operating costs. The research methods were field studies and interviews with staff, drivers, and waste workers. The main information needed is the distance between the TDS and landfill sites locations, the time between locations, and the operating time of the waste trucks. The results showed that the amount of waste transported daily was 211.89 m3/day with a proportion of 4%. Optimization is carried out by setting aside distances on eight dump truck routes using the nearest-neighbor method with the R algorithm. Based on optimization, the distance reduction achieved by sorting eight dump truck routes reaches 102.95 km. In Banyuwangi Regency, the average daily vehicle operating costs for waste transportation are IDR 625,600 for arm roll trucks and IDR 3,325,200 for dump trucks. The average vehicle operating cost per year for 5 arm-roll trucks and 17 dump trucks reaches IDR 4,277,304,940.

PENGOMPOSAN LIMBAH ORGANIK UNTUK MEWUJUDKAN ZERO WASTE MANAGEMENT DI RW VII DUKUH MENANGGAL KOTA SURABAYA

The 'zero waste' movement in waste management has not been consistently implemented to build a sustainable cycle. However, residents of RW VII Dukuh Menanggal have adopted 'zero waste management' practices, including waste bank activities and composting of leaf waste in jumbo biopores. Community service initiatives aim to promote appropriate technology for leaf waste composting using the d'Wijaya method, increase the capacity for processing organic matter into compost, and enhance residents' skills in using compost for vegetable cultivation. These activities encompass socialization, counseling, and assistance in implementing the composting method. Planning, implementation, and evaluation involve the community directly, fostering a sense of ownership of the program. These community service activities have led to increased insight, knowledge, and skills among residents regarding composting of leaf waste and tree branch waste using the d'Wijaya method, as well as using compost for vegetable growth. The implementation of the 'zero waste management' concept in RW VII has resulted in a reduction of waste transported to temporary disposal sites (TDS) by more than 50%. This program could serve as an initial step towards establishing an independent composting facility within the RW area in Surabaya.

ANALISIS PENGELOLAAN SAMPAH PADAT DI KOTA TANGERANG SELATAN

Waste management in South Tangerang City is carried out by the Environmental Waste Sector. Waste transportation is carried out by the Environmental Service and the appointed private sector. Waste transportation is carried out starting from the garbage source to the Temporary Disposal Site and the garbage is transported by garbage trucks to the Cipeucang Final Disposal Site. Waste transportation is carried out 2 rays / day where transportation using a cart from the garbage source to the TPS and / or TPS3R takes 280 minutes / rit and the cost of using a garbage truck from TPS and / or TPS3R takes 400 minutes / rit. But the problem that arises is that the waste generation in the community is not fully transported to the landfill. The purpose of this study was to determine the flow of waste management in South Tangerang City, and to find out the efforts made by the Environmental Agency in the Waste Sector to reduce the burden of waste at the Cipeucang Landfill. This research is classified into the type of qualitative descriptive research with a naturalistic approach method which describes in detail based on the facts that exist. The sampling technique is by using Purposive Sampling techniques. The conclusion of this research is that the waste management carried out by the South Tangerang City Environmental Agency is still not optimal, garbage transportation is still constrained by the large number of damaged garbage transport fleets, the absence of segregation of waste from garbage sources, and insufficient human resources or waste management officers in South Tangerang City.

Health status assessment of people adjacent to temporary waste disposal sites in Khulna city, Bangladesh

Despite rapid population growth, urbanization, and economic development in Bangladesh, there is a lack of evidence to measure the impact of dumpsites on human health and the environment. This study sought to assess the health impact of temporary disposal sites in Khulna city on residents living nearby. Data was collected through self-administered questionnaire surveys surrounding the dumpsite areas. Altogether 180 households were surveyed by random sampling approach from >50 m (close to the dumpsites, CD) and 50–300 m radius (away from the dumpsites, AD) of the dumpsite. The participants were mostly employed with low income (<US$185.54 per month) and living more than 10 years in the community. This study found that the main concern for residents in both communities was the odor emanating from the dumpsites, with 74% of respondents identifying this as their primary concern. Approximately 18% of respondents claimed that the smoke from burning waste had the most severe impact on their health. The most common health problems reported by participants were dysentery, diarrhea, pulmonary diseases, asthma, and allergies. Diarrhea was reported by most of the respondents in both communities, such as 32.1% in the CD community and 22.8% in the AD community. Whereas chest-related illness (16.98%) and asthma (11.32%) were reported more frequently in the CD community. Participants living close to the dumpsites were found to be statistically significant victims of health problems, water pollution and unpleasant odor. However, the results did not show a significant effect of proximity to the dumpsite on causing waterborne and airborne diseases among those with higher incomes and better employment. This study suggests conducting a more comprehensive investigation in the study area to unravel the specific impacts of dumpsites on human health. The city corporation authority should follow sustainable municipal solid waste management practices and consider green energy production from waste using cutting-edge technologies.

Analysis of Location Determination for Temporary Waste Collection Points Using p-dispersion Method: An Application to Yogyakarta City, Indonesia

The city of Yogyakarta, particularly the Maliobro-Kranggan sector, with a total population of 117,656, has the potential to generate 221 m3/day of waste, while the total capacity of the existing temporary waste collection points or Temporary Disposal Sites (TPS) is 17 units with a capacity of 306 m3. The Yogyakarta Environmental Agency must reconsider the number of TPS facilities and their capacities to meet the community's needs. In certain areas, there are nearby TPS locations, causing some of them not to function optimally as the community chooses the ones that are easily accessible. On the other hand, the proximity of TPS facilities also disturbs the comfort of the community due to worsening odor pollution. In response to this issue, this research aims to determine the optimal number of TPS facilities and their ideal locations using the p-dispersion method. This method is used to determine facility locations by maximizing the minimal distance between each available facility. This research also adds a criterion by considering the travel distance from waste sources to the selected facilities. The study is conducted using Lingo 11.0 software. Based on the data processing results, 13 of 17 TPS facilities were established. The total capacity is 254 m3/day, which can serve as the waste source for 13 community locations. The objective value obtained is 5900, which indicates that the minimum separation distance for the ideal facilities is 5900 meters.

Estimating baseline CO2 emission from waste collection and transport activity to TPST Bantargebang, Jakarta

Municipal solid waste is one of the fundamental problems in DKI Jakarta Province. The increasing population and various human activities had a direct effect on this issue. TPST Bantargebang served and treated all waste in DKI Jakarta Province, and the volume of waste generation reached 7,702 tons per day in 2019. Despite the waste generation, waste collection and transport are becoming emerging issues. The level of service by the Environmental Agency of DKI Jakarta Province is planned to reach 98% in 2025. Dump and waste trucks come and go in the long queue every day around TPST Bantargebang. This study estimated CO2 emissions from waste collection and transport activity using daily logbook data, fleet data, and spatial analysis. This study assigned the source point as a temporary disposal site in each subdistrict. It showed that the total vehicle kilometer traveled (VKT) reached 71,990.72 km/day, which collected and transported 5,897.67 tons of waste/day from 196 subdistricts. The need for fuel consumption reached 31,989.17 liters of bio-solar per day. The baseline of CO2 emission reached 70.805 tCO2 per day by multiplying the bio-solar emission factor and total fuel consumption. The CO2 emission per ton of waste transported reached 12 kg CO2 per day and the CO2 emission per kilometer of waste transported reached 0.98 kg CO2 per day.

Effectiveness of Organic Waste Degradation Level using the Black Soldier Fly Maggot

Sekaran Village is a village with a dense population, so the quantity of waste, both organic and inorganic from the village community is also high. This experiment focuses on processing organic waste only with Maggot Black Soldier Fly (BSF) media which has the potential to decompose organic waste. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of degradation of organic waste with BSF maggot media at the Sekar Benefit 3R Temporary Disposal Site (TPS) Sekaran District, Lamongan Regency. The results of this experiment include the increase in the mass of Baby Maggot BSF before and after degrading waste. The level of degradation of organic waste with Baby Maggot BSF is rice (69.83%), bones (50.5%), meat (46%), fruit (45.83%), wet leaves (31.5%) and the last is dry leaves (16.67%). Meanwhile, the level of degradation of organic waste with Adult BSF Maggot is not as high as the level of degradation of organic waste with Baby Maggot BSF media. Organic waste type which easily degraded by Adults Maggot BSF for 24 hours are meat, fruit and rice up to 0.59, 0.44 and 0.11 kg. Meanwhile, dry leaves, wet leaves and vegetables, which were degraded up to 0.69, 0.59 and 0.7 kg. It was concluded that the type of organic waste did not affect the quantity of Adult BSF Maggot before and after degrading organic waste.
