Expotecnología 2022

Expotecnología 2022 was an event that took place in the city of Cartagena de Indias, from November 2 to 6, 2022, with the slogan “The future of engineering in the face of technological disruption” This eighteenth version was a meeting that brought together the scientific and academic community in spaces for the dissemination and transfer of knowledge, where innovation was the essence and a fundamental part of the event. Expotecnología was created in the Faculty of Engineering Sciences - FACI, of the Antonio de Arévalo University Foundation - UNITECNAR and in this version it maintained as mission, the development of the interaction between science, technology and society, through establishing of knowledge networks and academic and professional cooperation. The main objective was to address the challenges that emerge from the everyday life of the engineering community, the problems immersed in the development of projects and programs of Higher Education Institutions (IES), organizations and research centers at the national and international level. In the development of the day of presentations in a virtual way, it was possible to promote the dissemination of the research work of professionals, teachers and students from all areas of engineering, framed in four (4) thematic axes, as follows:• New technologies: Big data, Artificial Intelligence, Business Intelligence, Software Engineering, Education and new technologies and Mobile Applications.• Petrochemicals and process control: Materials Science, Instrumentation and Control Systems, Robotics and Automation and Industrial Maintenance.• Electricity, electronics and telecommunications: IoT, Fiber optics, Digital Signal Processing, Wireless Networks, Mobile Communications, Power Systems, Energy Storage, Smart Grids, Renewable Energies, Operation and Distribution, Energy Dispatch, Energy Markets• Construction Summit: Modern Building Systems and Computational Modeling.On this occasion, the event was attended by 512 people, representatives from 25 national and 6 international universities. 32 presentations were made, of which 32 articles were selected for this volume of the IOP Conference Cycle: Materials Science and Engineering and 13 articles for the book Engineering, Innovation and the fourth industrial revolution., After a process of Peer Review. AR Application Design for SV IPB Software Engineering Technology Study Program using Design Thinking Method

The application of Augmented Reality (AR) is steadily increasing in the development of modern applications, which combines virtual elements with the real world to provide an immersive user experience. AR applications are crucial to the IPB Software Engineering Technology Study Program. Design Thinking methods ensure a thorough understanding of user needs and drive innovative solutions. The design thinking method is used to design AR applications with a focus on user experiences and interactive multimedia. Design processes include learning user experiences, gathering ideas, making prototypes, and then performing application testing and evaluation. The aim of this research is to create AR applications that meet user requirements and have interesting and meaningful interactive media features. The results of this production and research will also contribute to the development of the IPB Software Engineering Technology study program.

Prediksi Dampak Pembelajaran Hybrid Learning Menggunakan Naive Bayes

This research use to predict the impact of hybrid learning on Medan State Polytechnic students. This algorithm was chosen because it has excellent performance in classification compared to other algorithms. Statistical and probabilistic methods are used in the operation of this algorithm to make predictions about what will happen in the future. Technology mastery, level of teacher-student interaction, and mastery of teaching materials are the variables used in this study. The sample data used came from students of the Software Engineering Technology Study Program of Medan State Polytechnic. The prediction results carried out manually with naïve bayes, with training data of 100 (one hundred) students and test data of 1 (one) student, produced a result of 0.012, which indicates an increase in student academic results. The test results were proven using the phyton programming language. The first test results, with 20% test data, resulted in an increase in academic results by 86% around 13 students with an accuracy value of 80%, and the second test, with 40% test data, resulted in an increase in academic results by 92% around 29 students with an accuracy value of 88%.

The International Conference on Software Engineering and Machine Learning (CONF-SEML) is an annual conference focusing on research areas including software engineering, artificial intelligence, and other information technology areas. It aims to establish a broad and interdisciplinary platform for experts, researchers, and students worldwide to present, exchange, and discuss the latest advance and development in engineering and machine learning.This volume contains the papers of the 2023 International Conference on Software Engineering and Machine Learning (CONF-SEML 2023). Each of these papers has gained a comprehensive review by the editorial team and professional reviewers. Each paper has been examined and evaluated for its theme, structure, method, content, language, and format.CONF-SEML 2023 organized four workshops in cooperation with famous universities worldwide. Dr. Marco Manca chaired the workshop “BioDynaMo: Building the Future Today” in Bologna, Italy. Dr. Christopher Windmill and Dr. Patrick Merritt chaired the workshop “Software development practices for digitally augmented traditional business workflows” at the University of Derby. Dr. Marwan Omar chaired the workshop “Recovering Data in a Digital Forensics Examination” at the Illinois Institute of Technology. Prof. Anil Fernando chaired the workshop “Explainable AI for Stock Market Prediction” at the University of Strathclyde.Besides these workshops, CONF-SEML 2023 also held an online session. Eminent professors from top universities were invited to deliver keynote speeches in this online session, including Prof. Roman Bauer from the University of Surrey, Prof. Michael Harre from the University of Sydney, Prof. Richa Gupta from Jamia Hamdard University, etc. They have given keynote speeches on related topics of utilization of machine learning, digital healthcare intervention, computational model, etc.On behalf of the committee, we would like to give sincere gratitude to all authors and speakers who have made their contributions to CONF-SEML 2023, editors and reviewers who have guaranteed the quality of papers with their expertise, and the committee members who have devoted themselves to the success of the conference.

Unravelling DevOps Agile Methodologies: A Comprehensive Review of Recent Research

Abstract: This study report offers a thorough analysis of current studies on DevOps Agile techniques. The study summarizes and dissects the major discoveries made in peer-reviewed literature, conference proceedings, and other academic publications. The article examines the most recent DevOps Agile practice trends and advances, as well as how they affect software development, testing, deployment, and operations. The analysis emphasizes the advantages of applying DevOps Agile approaches, including enhanced collaboration, faster time to market, and higher-quality software products. The paper also examines the challenges and potential limitations of DevOps Agile adoption, such as cultural resistance, lack of skills, and integration issues. Finally, the study concludes with recommendations for practical implications for software development teams and organizations seeking to implement DevOps Agile methodologies. The review provides valuable insights and guidance for researchers, practitioners, and decision-makers in the field of software engineering and information technology.

Observability Practice with OODA Principles and Processes

Observability is essential in numerous areas, including software engineering, business operations, and Information Technology (IT). Created by Colonel John Boyd in a military setting, the OODA (Observe, Orient, Decide, and Act) loop has expanded into a flexible framework for enhancing observability in various areas. This study improves observability and decision-making by applying OODA concepts and procedures in software engineering and business. These domains work together to guarantee smooth workflows in the age of Industry 4.0 and disruptive technology breakthroughs when observability is essential to success. The OODA cycle in software engineering allows engineers to gather information, comprehend context, make logical decisions, and take appropriate action to maximize system security and performance. The “Observe” phase focuses on metrics, logs, events, including data collection, monitoring, and real-time analysis. The “Orient” phase emphasises how crucial anomaly detection and data visualization are to comprehending context. While the “Act” phase handles automation and the implementation of enhancements, the “Decide” phase directs engineers to optimize systems and increase security. From operational indicators to market trends and consumer feedback, the OODA loop helps businesses make data-driven decisions by collecting information during the “Observe” phase. The “Orient” phase helps organizations comprehend customer preferences and market dynamics by analysing data and spotting trends. The “Act” phase makes it easier to implement selected plans, while the “Decide” phase aids in strategic decision-making and resource allocation.

Capstone Projects and their Transition into the Software Development Industry: A 10 Year Systematic Review of Literature

This study sought to examine the existing software engineering and Information Technology practices covered in final-year capstone projects in higher institutions of learning around the world, and the possibility of commercializing products developed from these projects. The researchers undertook a Systematic Literature Review methodology. The researchers used Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) tools, including Litmaps and Connected Papers for literature identification, while Quillbot and Scholarly A.I. were used for summary writing. Manual full paper review, data extraction and synthesis, and quantitative analyses were done on the final dataset using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Rayyan.ai. Eighty-eight papers from ACM Library, IEEE, Science Direct, EBSCOHost, Emerald Insight, Taylor & Francis, and Google Scholar were reviewed. Most papers were from Western countries, with only a few from Africa. Findings indicate a remarkable movement from traditional software engineering practices such as Waterfall to modern agile methods such as Scrum and Kaban. There was an increased use of Generative A.I. and Machine learning platforms such as GitHub and Arduino in projects profiled. Common scripting languages used by students were Java and Python. Most projects were undertaken in groups, with no prospective client. Most capstone courses were purely academic endeavours, and only a few were ever commercialized and transformed into industry products. One limitation of the review is that it includes grey literature from conferences and student theses. The study provides insights into State-of-the-Art approaches that can be adopted by higher institutions of learning to improve capstone courses.

A Systematic Literature Review on Blockchain Technology in Software Engineering

Blockchain technology is gaining increasing interest among software developers as a distributed and decentralized ledger for tracking the origin of digital assets. However, the application of blockchain in software engineering requires further attention. In this study, we aim to address the current challenges and explore the need for specialized blockchain practices in software engineering. Through a systematic literature review, we identify the various applications of blockchain technology in software engineering. Additionally, we conduct a thorough analysis of existing obstacles and propose potential solutions. Gathering and evaluating requirements using blockchain-based requirements engineering approaches will enhance the quality and reliability of data in software development projects. This, in turn, will improve the overall quality and dependability of software, as well as increase user interest and productivity.

Development of Fault Detection Systems: The Hadoop Ecosystem Implementation

Semiconductor manufacturing relies on a long and complex production line for wafer fabrication. In a modern semiconductor fabrication plant (fab), a wafer manufacturing line is composed of more than 1,000 manufacturing tools and an overhead hoist system for delivering wafer lots among the tools. Novel technologies, such as Internet of Things (IoT) and software engineering technologies, are adopted in semiconductor manufacturing such that large amounts of data can be collected from manufacturing tools. Also, these tools and the overhead hoist system should cooperate well with each other. Due to the data-processing capacity limitation in a current fault detection and classification (FDC) system, the diagnosis efficiency is limited such that some undesired events cannot be detected in time, leading to significant economic loss. With the booming development of big data technology, this work conducts a study on a new FDC framework based on a Hadoop ecosystem to deal with the data-processing limitation and improve diagnosis efficiency. Also, a migration path is presented such that the current FDC system can be smoothly migrated to a Hadoop ecosystem-based one without shutting down a wafer fabrication line. Experimental results show that the proposed FDC framework can run safely and stably.

Identifying software development IOT effort in human and machine using global wavelet method

Estimating effort involves figuring out how many personnel are involved in various company operations and how long it will take to complete an IOT in Machines and software development project. This estimate is crucial in order to understand how much the relevant value of the software generated. The Global Wavelet Method is a frequent technique used to determine the projected effort. The GVM approach, which Tokey[15] only relies on data from three software development projects, is the subject of this study's review. However, most academics have continued to use the proposed Estimate Rate (ER) using Tokey's value without challenging its applicability. The estimated effort calculated using the GVM approach by multiplying the GVM Value by the ER. ER Value was 40 hours for people and 90 hours for machines. The ER Value, the end outcome of this study, is equal to 6.2. This amount is considerably less than Tokey's ER Value. This is possible for a number of reasons, including the existence of software engineering methodologies, more sophisticated software engineering technology, software that is composed of individual components, and lastly the availability of source code on the internet.

The Orientation and Construction Path of Software Engineering Technology Specialty at the Vocational Undergraduate Level

The development of undergraduate vocational education is the inevitable result of China's meeting the industry's demand for high-quality and multi-skilled talents. In the context of the rapid development of the domestic digital economy and the construction of information and innovation, the requirements for software technology talents are also changing. In order to meet the needs of regional industries, we should build a professional undergraduate software engineering technology major. Starting from the industrial demand, this paper first investigates and analyzes the employment demand and future trend of software technology-related enterprises, then analyzes the orientation of the specialty, and finally proposes the construction path of specialty construction and talent training, which provides support for the construction and development of software engineering technology specialty in vocational colleges.

Rekayasa Perangkat Lunak dalam Pendidikan Pesantren

The rapid development of technology in recent years has also impacted the education sector, especially in pesantren institutions. Pesantren has responded well to technological advances by utilizing the Maktabah Syamilah (application) of online book libraries as an educational tool, allowing students to access yellow book references. This study aims to demonstrate that software engineering technology (RPL) that dynamically develops has an important role in the development of Pondok Pesantren in implementing teaching instruments. This study uses the library research method, supported by literature evidence, to compile the research. The results show that software development must go through a structured process and have many models, namely software engineering (RPL), which aims to improve the software. This research implies that the current pattern of pesantren education utilizes technology as a learning instrument, such as Maktabah Syamilah, allowing teachers and students to respond well to technological advancements.

An Analysis of Data Mining Techniques in Software Engineering Database Design

With the advent of Internet information technology, data mining technology has been applied in various fields of China's social and industrial development, and has promoted the quality development of the industry [1]. Nowadays, people are widely influenced by Internet computer technology, and the application of computer technology has been indispensable in life, work and study. At the same time, data mining technology arises from Internet communication technology and is used as an important technical means of operation and development by various industries, especially the application of data mining technology in university software engineering teaching is becoming more and more widespread, but there are still many unavoidable problems that require scholars to pay more attention. The article analyzes and discusses the significance of applying data mining technology in software engineering [2], and on this basis, the application path of data mining technology in software engineering database design is proposed, including: mining information, mining loopholes, mining execution records and open source. It is hoped that relevant technology users can efficiently apply data mining technology to make software engineering It is more reasonable and efficient, so that software engineering can be further developed. This paper presents the implementation and performance analysis of the teacher management decision-making system based on data mining, and introduces the implementation process of the system in detail.

Research on the application of data mining technology in software engineering

The role of data mining in software engineering is obvious, but there is a lack of mining depth. In the past, engineering layout and function distribution problems in software development, and the framework construction was unreasonable. Therefore, this paper proposes a software system based on data mining technology. First, the software engineering project is divided, and the software engineering project design is carried out according to the interactive requirements to realize the preprocessing of software engineering. Then, according to the design criteria, the design collection of software engineering is formed, and the information system is analyzed in depth. MATLAB simulation shows that the design interactivity and accuracy of data mining are superior to traditional design methods under the condition that software engineering requirements are consistent.

Simplifying the Opaqueness and Dilemma of the Computing Disciplines for the Common Person in Society

The computing fields have grown increasingly influential in modern times, yet their complexities and technical terms can prove problematic for the public to comprehend. This paper proposes to bridge this gap, introducing readers to the five major computing disciplines as per the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM), 2016: computer science, Information System, software engineering, computer engineering, and information technology. An additional more recent discipline which does not fall under the 5 ACM disciplines, Information Communication Technology was also introduced. The paper first examines the evolution of the Computing disciplines from the 1960s. Then the paper briefly discusses each discipline and how the disciplines overlap with each other through using secondary data materials. A section on the new and emerging computing technologies outlines the recognition status by the society. The interdisciplinary nature of the computing disciplines necessitated the need to simplify it. Thus, a table was done which summarized various works of various researchers who had researched on the computing disciplines.
