Numerical simulation of neural activity based on discrete Markov chains with stochastic differential equations

Abstract With the development of new numerical calculation methods and computer software science and technology, people can have a good understanding of the potential mechanisms of cerebrovascular diseases. Here, we combine the stochastic differential equation (SDE) of discrete Markov chains to numerically simulate the dynamic changes of neural signals, and find that the changes of neural signals exhibit regular fluctuations. By analyzing the variation of voltage over time, we know that the voltage change at the next moment is closely related to the previous moment and has continuity. Based on the knowledge of neural ion channel dynamics, it was found that there will be longer peak changes in voltage, exhibiting a power-law distribution, which is consistent with the actual situation and statistical data related to resignation channels. By analyzing the voltage and peak changes of ion channels, we can gain a new understanding of the transmission laws of neural information and greatly improve the biological mechanisms.

By simplifying dependency management through starter POMs and reducing boilerplate configuration with auto-configuration, Spring Boot has significantly enhanced the usability of the Spring framework. By delving into some analytics, the paper explains how Spring Boot continues to empower developers to meet the challenges posed by modern application development, including microservices architectures, cloud-native deployments, and DevOps practices. Differentiated Security Requirements: An Exploration of Microservice Placement Algorithms in Internet of Vehicles

In recent years, microservices, as an emerging technology in software development, have been favored by developers due to their lightweight and low-coupling features, and have been rapidly applied to the Internet of Things (IoT) and Internet of Vehicles (IoV), etc. Microservices deployed in each unit of the IoV use wireless links to transmit data, which exposes a larger attack surface, and it is precisely because of these features that the secure and efficient placement of microservices in the environment poses a serious challenge. Improving the security of all nodes in an IoV can significantly increase the service provider’s operational costs and can create security resource redundancy issues. As the application of reinforcement learning matures, it is enabling faster convergence of algorithms by designing agents, and it performs well in large-scale data environments. Inspired by this, this paper firstly models the placement network and placement behavior abstractly and sets security constraints. The environment information is fully extracted, and an asynchronous reinforcement-learning-based algorithm is designed to improve the effect of microservice placement and reduce the security redundancy based on ensuring the security requirements of microservices. The experimental results show that the algorithm proposed in this paper has good results in terms of the fit of the security index with user requirements and request acceptance rate.

Essential Aspects of Gender-inclusive Computer Science Education

Computer science is a higher education domain that still show a significant male dominance. Many research studies have highlighted the importance of diversity and gender balance in computer science related areas such as software engineering and system development. However, there is still a well-identified problem that university programmes and courses on computer science fail to attract the female audience. The objective of this study is to investigate the concept of gender-inclusive computer science (CS) education with the aim of broadening participation in CS courses and programs. This is conducted through a literature study, initially focusing on keywords and research areas, and subsequently searching into existing research. The research question that guided the study was: "What concepts can be found in literature to make computer science education more gender-inclusive?". Data were analysed thematically in a two-step analysis process inspired by the grounded theory methods of Open coding and Axial coding. Findings suggest that there is significant room for learning in this field, particularly from Critical CS education studies. The Open coding analysis showed that the findings can be categorised into eight main themes. In the Axial coding the themes were merged, refined, renamed, and centred around the main axial theme of 'Epistemological pluralism'. Other essential themes that all are related to the axial main theme were: 'Design and creativity', 'Bias awareness and ethics', 'Collaboration and communication', 'Self-regulated learning', 'Real-world applications', and 'Role models and mentorship'. The result of this study is presented through a visual model that illustrates essential aspects of inclusive computer science education. The paper also proposes various directions for future research.

Containerization in Edge Intelligence: A Review

The onset of cloud computing brought with it an adoption of containerization—a lightweight form of virtualization, which provides an easy way of developing and deploying solutions across multiple environments and platforms. This paper describes the current use of containers and complementary technologies in software development and the benefits it brings. Certain applications run into obstacles when deployed on the cloud due to the latency it introduces or the amount of data that needs to be processed. These issues are addressed by edge intelligence. This paper describes edge intelligence, the deployment of artificial intelligence close to the data source, the opportunities it brings, along with some examples of practical applications. We also discuss some of the challenges in the development and deployment of edge intelligence solutions and the possible benefits of applying containerization in edge intelligence.

Introduction to the Concept and Practice of Using Arrays in Programming Languages ​​is an effort to provide education and guidance to teachers at Senior High School 2 Gunung Talang, Solok who are interested in computer programming. Knowledge of the use of arrays in programming languages ​​is an important basis in the increasingly developing world of information technology. This community service activity aims to provide a broader understanding of the concepts and practices of using arrays in programming languages, especially for those who do not have a technical background in programming. In this activity, participants will be invited to understand the basic concepts of arrays, how to declare, initialize and access array elements in programming languages. This activity will provide an introduction to various types of arrays, such as one-dimensional arrays, two-dimensional arrays, and multidimensional arrays, as well as provide examples of practical use in everyday programming. Participants will also be taught about the benefits of using arrays, including how they can simplify code, increase efficiency, and optimize data management. It is hoped that the results of this service will provide benefits to the community by increasing their understanding of the use of arrays in programming languages. The slow transition from Von-Neumann based computation systems to quantum systems, and conserving the fundamental computing principles in software development and software engineering helps in enrichment of quantum software development. The evolution of quantum computing over the past years shows a shift in the domain of classical computation to quantum computation in the years to come. Future applications such as, quantum AI and quantum machine learning will benefit from quantum software engineering. This survey collects and explores the various documentations in the domain of quantum systems and quantum software engineering. The survey provides an in-depth exploration of quantum programming languages, which is combined with explanations of quantum computing’s fundamentals. The review also goes in-depth about quantum software engineering and quantum software life cycle development, outlining the quantum software reuse methodology that is introduced in the quantum software lifecycle development domain.

Evaluating the efficacy of balloon pulmonary angioplasty using quantitative analysis of SPECT pulmonary ventilation/perfusion scintigraphy in patients with chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension.

Single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) ventilation perfusion imaging is the main imaging method for the diagnosis of pulmonary embolism, and its application in the diagnosis and efficacy evaluation of chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) has been paid more and more attention. In recent years, with the development of computer software technology, ventilation/perfusion (V/Q) imaging quantitative analysis technology has become more and more mature. The objective of this study was to investigate the utility of quantitative analysis of pulmonary V/Q scintigraphy in evaluating the efficacy of balloon pulmonary angioplasty (BPA) in patients with CTEPH. In this retrospective analysis, we collected data of patients diagnosed with CTEPH who underwent BPA at the China-Japan Friendship Hospital from April 2018 to September 2020. The sample consisted of 23 males and 28 females, with an average age of 55.1±12.7 years. All patients underwent V/Q scintigraphy within one week before surgery, and we reviewed the pulmonary angiography within 1-3 months following the last BPA procedure. We repeated V/Q scintigraphy within 1 week before or after the pulmonary angiography, at the time of collecting clinical and hemodynamic parameters of these patients. We divided the patients into two groups based on the presence of residual pulmonary hypertension post-surgery and compared the pre- and post-operative quantitative pulmonary perfusion defect percentage scores (PPDs%) using the t-test. In all, 102 V/Q scintigraphy scans were performed in 51 patients. The quantitative PPDs% were positively correlated with the hemodynamic indexes mean pulmonary arterial pressure (mPAP), pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR), and mean right ventricular pressure (RVP) (r=0.605, 0.391, and 0.464, respectively, all P<0.001) and negatively correlated with the 6-minute walking distance (6MWD) (r=-0.254, P=0.010). The average preoperative quantitative PPDs% were (49.0±15.6)% which significantly decreased to (33.5±13.9)% after surgery (t=11.249, P<0.001). The preoperative quantitative PPDs% were (54.7±15.7)% and (44.0±13.8)% in the residual pulmonary hypertension group and the non-residual pulmonary hypertension group, respectively (t=2.599, P=0.012). The postoperative quantitative PPDs% were (41.5±12.5)% and (26.3±11.0)%, in the residual pulmonary hypertension group and the non-residual pulmonary hypertension group, respectively (t=4.647, P<0.001). In this study, we found that quantitative analysis of SPECT pulmonary V/Q scintigraphy adequately reflected the pulmonary artery pressure and clinical status in patients with CTEPH. Our results demonstrate its definite utility in predicting residual pulmonary hypertension and in evaluating the postoperative efficacy of BPA in patients with CTEPH.

Modeling the return on investment in human capital in the IT industry of Ukraine

Purpose. To identify patterns of return on investment in human capital in the IT industry of Ukraine through a quantitative assessment of the relationship between the income of IT specialists and the experience and other characteristics of the specialist and the company, as well as the formation of relevant recommendations. Methodology. The empirical basis of the study was a survey on the salary of IT specialists in Ukraine conducted in December 2022. The methodological basis of the study was general scientific and special research methods, in particular, the method of abstraction (to focus on the main determinants of the formation of IT specialists’ income), induction (to extrapolate the patterns found in the sample to the entire IT industry of Ukraine), economic mathematical modeling (for the construction of a multiple regression model that reflects the patterns of influence of factors on the income of IT specialists that exist in reality). Findings. It was established that among IT specialists people are predominant with little work experience (up to 5 years). The effect of experience on the growth rate of income has a decreasing non-linear nature, while the most noticeable increase in income is observed during the first years of work in the specialty. It was found that the highest-paid IT professionals are software development engineers, managers at various levels, and quality assurance engineers. It has been proven that the level of English proficiency has a positive effect on income. A higher level of remuneration for the work of IT specialists in product companies and startups compared to outsourcing or outstaffing companies has been established. Originality. It has been revealed that the relationship between the income of IT specialists and their work experience, profession, level of English language proficiency, and company type. Practical value. The applied value of the study lies in the ability to predict the income of IT specialists. The formed recommendations can be used in the activities of IT companies in terms of improving financial control over the spending of funds for the payment of services of IT specialists, assessing the feasibility of investing funds in personnel development, as well as substantiating the planned indicators of changes in the costs of paying for the services of IT specialists.

PBL-Based Vocational Education Blended Learning Activity Design Research

There are disparities between vocational education personnel training and industrial development. The purpose of this research is to develop a PBL-based blended learning activity design aligned with vocational education talent training goals, leveraging the benefits of project-based and mixed learning approaches. The design encompasses problem clarification, goal determination, problem design, problem-solving, results display and evaluation, and summary activities. Employing a quasi-experimental research methodology, this study was conducted in the core course “Software Development Technology” within the software technology major of Vocational College X. Through comparative data analysis between the experimental and control groups, it was observed that students in the experimental group demonstrated varying degrees of improvement in their abilities related to demand analysis, software design, software development, and software testing in the field of software development technology. This finding affirms that PBL-based blended learning activities can effectively enhance students’ technical skills by extending learning opportunities in both space and time, thereby offering practical insights for vocational education talent training research.

Analisis Persediaan Suku Cadang Dengan Metode Economic Order Quantity Pada Bengkel Asia Jaya Motor Karawang

The development of hardware and software technology has developed rapidly in recent years. Currently, companies are still experiencing difficulties in processing data and information. Spare parts that are not available when needed can hinder maintenance and repair plans. For this reason, controlling spare parts inventory in the Asia Jaya Motor workshop company is very necessary to maintain the quality of goods. Asia Jaya Motor Workshop is a business operating in the automotive sector, where this place cannot be separated from an accurate information system. However, data management still uses manual methods, seeing the problems that occur at the Asia Jaya Motor Karawang Workshop, very high accuracy, convenience and speed are needed. The aim of this research is to obtain an effective and efficient spare parts inventory analysis so that spare parts procurement and control plans can be accurate in supporting maintenance and repair programs. The data collection techniques for this research are library research and field research. So, the total cost of spare parts inventory in the 2011-2014 period according to the Economic Order Quantity method for each spare part has increased. The total cost (total cost) of spare parts inventory according to the Economic Order Quantity method is lowest in the 2021 period and the total cost (total cost) of spare parts inventory is the highest in the 2023 period.

Due to the rapid development of big data and Internet technologies, the field of application of software development has gradually expanded, which has played an important role in promoting the development of many areas and has allowed us to achieve good results in the relevant areas. With the development of the Internet+ in modern society, users have a variety of requirements for software functions. They need to actively explore new technologies and continuously develop software, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of software development and benefiting the development of human society. Thus, this article mainly examines the need to develop new technologies to promote the development of software engineering, analyzes the areas of application of software engineering and existing problems in the current development of software engineering, and then analyzes and proposes the future of new technologies for software development in the era of “Internet+”.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY OF SOFTWARE DATA SECURITY MONITORING

The article proposes an overview of an information technology of software data security monitoring with the aim of increasing the security of auxiliary and end-user software in run-time using the designed universal architecture with the capabilities of synchronized data security validation processes in client-server interactions and integration into software development technologies using unified interfaces for specifying extensible sets of validation rules. An analysis of the subject area was conducted, during which it was established that the tasks of software data security validation are included in the requirements of well-known data security standards, and the related vulnerabilities are noted as highly important. It was also established that the traditional monitoring of only software input data is not enough, therefore the problem of security monitoring of various categories of software data is relevant. The capabilities of existing tools to monitor security and correctness of software data are incomplete: focus on certain categories of data, platform dependency, narrow integration capabilities with other software development tools, limited usage, complex or limited extensibility, difficult reuse of well-known verified solutions etc. Based on the analysis of the existing software data security monitoring tools, the cons of the existing implementations were identified, and a universal architecture of the software framework was proposed as a solution. The analysis of the vulnerabilities of various categories of software data was conducted along with the recommended methods of implementation of data security. Discovered methods of data security implementation were used in the proposed solution. The article examines the structure of the proposed information technology, provides the universal architecture of the software framework, demonstrates the verification of the work of the developed tool, and provides the assessment of the effectiveness of usage of the data security monitoring framework in software development. The proposed architecture and directions of further improvements of the framework allow significant extension of its functionality and easy integration into popular software development technologies. It is assumed that the developed information technology of software data security monitoring will be widely used in commercial software development as well as in educational and scientific appliance.

Training of highly qualified specialists in the field of software development: problems and solutions in higher educational institutions of Ecuador

The article presented analyses the difficulties faced by a teacher in the Software Development program and the tools they can use to improve the effectiveness of the teaching process. The author separates algorithmic thinking from software development technology. It is noted that the problem of teaching how to develop software is associated with the understanding of the subject area. The second part of the article examines the teacher's options when choosing ways to improve the quality of education in the Software Development career. The question of choosing a programming language is analyzed. And, programming environments that have little influence on the learning process and outcome are considered. The authors focus on the interaction between “teacher and student” and the importance of a technique in teaching such as automating the verification of tasks completed by students.

Modular Design of Teaching Cases: Reducing Workload While Maximizing Reusability

Many software development courses rely heavily on a project-based learning component to provide hands-on experience with the majority of the course objectives. Courses such as systems analysis and design, database design, software engineering, and capstone software development courses often incorporate some form of case-based project that is much more extensive and integrated than are focused exercises over individual topics. To be truly educational, case studies can require a significant investment in time and effort on the part of the instructor, an investment that seldom carries over into future academic sessions. This paper presents a modular case study development concept for better managing the development of case studies and achieving project extensibility through reusable case study modules, while at the same time helping to reduce instructor workload and solution reuse by students.

Wind Riders of the Lost River Range: A Modular Project-Based Case for Software Development

The Wind Riders of the Lost River Range (WRLRR) is a modular project-based simulated case study. This case study is designed to accompany a hands-on collaborative semester project for a variety of software development courses. The case can be used in courses like Systems Analysis and Design, Database Design, Software Engineering, and Software Development. The case provides a detailed account of a situation that closely simulates a real-world problem. This challenging experiential learning opportunity reinforces course concepts through their application in a realistic scenario. WRLRR has been developed using the modular design of teaching cases approach. This approach makes it possible to swap modules in and out of the case. This reduces instructor workload by making it unnecessary to develop a new case from scratch for each course iteration. It also discourages students from recycling solutions from previous courses because the case scenario has been altered. Adding or removing modules makes it possible to sufficiently vary the case study to refine the problem being addressed. Macros are provided to automate, and thereby facilitate, the insertion of modules.

A comprehensive dataset comprising 137,434 job postings spanning from January 2023 to June 2023 underwent analysis, employing diverse natural language processing (NLP) techniques.&#x0D; The analysis unveiled that the most sought-after job roles included engineering positions, developers, software engineers, and analysts. Technical competencies in software development, data analysis, database management, network administration, and cloud computing exhibited strong demand. The research also elucidated robust interconnections among domains such as software development, computer science, data analysis, coding, and information technology. These findings offer valuable insights for job seekers, recruiters, and policymakers, aiding them in aligning skillsets and making informed decisions. Further investigations are warranted to explore broader contexts and evolving trends within the IT job market.
