Creation of Stem-Centers Within Experimental Activities (Best Practices)

The article is devoted to the analysis of the organization of the creation of STEM centers as innovative educational environments aimed at the formation and development of STEM competencies and creative activity of education seekers, the development of innovative models of education and the professional improvement of pedagogical workers in the STEM direction. It was found that the organization of the creation of STEM centers requires the provision of organizational, scientific-methodical, material and technical conditions and personnel support. It was determined that the organizational conditions include the development and adoption of the necessary regulatory documents that determine the principles of STEM-centers' activities. The scientific and methodological conditions provide for the development and adaptation of educational programs and educational and methodological materials, lesson plans and manuals focused on the integration of STEM disciplines. Material and technical conditions provide for the availability of modern equipment, computer classes, laboratories, workshops, software and other technical means and resources. Staffing requires the involvement of qualified teachers, trainers, instructors, methodologists, specialists in STEM disciplines. The study is aimed at studying the best practices of creating STEM centers within the framework of the implementation of an innovative educational project at the all-Ukrainian level on the topic "Organizational and scientific-methodical conditions for the creation of STEM centers" in 2022-2027. The author of the article provided practical recommendations for organizing the creation of STEM centers, taking into account the results of the survey of basic educational institutions of the innovative educational project and the needs of modern education.

Technology shock of ChatGPT, social attention and firm value: Evidence from China

The release of ChatGPT has attracted widespread attention and triggered fluctuations in the capital market. This study employs difference-in-differences (DID) and event study (ES) to investigate the effects of ChatGPT's release on the cumulative abnormal return (CAR) of listed companies in China. The results reveal that a series of ChatGPT launch events, including GPT-3.5 and GPT-4, have a significantly positive impact on the firm value of the companies focused on ChatGPT, with dynamic effects. In the initial two months after the release of ChatGPT, the Chinese stock market exhibited an undervaluation of GPT-focused companies, indicating information asymmetry and competitive substitution effect. With the widespread promotion of generative AI, social recognition of ChatGPT's potential value increased. This study verifies the moderation effect of social attention in strengthening ChatGPT's impact, demonstrating that a higher search index for ChatGPT enhances stock returns for GPT-focused companies. Heterogeneity tests reveal that the impact of ChatGPT is significantly positive for large or non-state-owned companies, while small or state-owned companies show no significant effect. From the perspective of labor structure, companies dominated by technical and production personnel experience positive effects, whereas those dominated by sales personnel do not. In the eastern regions with more favorable digital economic innovation environments, companies experience a notably positive impact. This paper provides a theoretical explanation and empirical evidence for the microeconomic impact of generative AI in the Chinese context, offering valuable insights for both government and firms.

Long Duration Forecasting and its Performance Capability for Seasonal Variation Modelling of Residual Chlorine Concentrations: A Comparative Evaluation of two Small-scale Water Distribution Systems in Japan

Chlorine dosing control is a critical task for health security, complying with drinking water quality standards while achieving customer satisfaction. In Japan, this became more difficult due to decreasing number of technical personnel as a result of declining population and huge retirement of veterans. As experienced-based dosing control still exists and is considered inefficient due to risks of inaccurate dosing and need of experienced manpower, streamlining of operations is needed. This study aims to address these concerns through the development and evaluation of a deep learning model for residual chlorine concentrations capable of forecasting long durations. In this paper, the model is investigated in seasonal timeframe analyzing trends and variations. Two water distributions systems of varying network—simple and complex, are also compared to further analyze model performance and versatility. The model utilizes the past 24 hours of flow rate, chlorine level at treatment plant, water temperature, and residual chlorine at private homes as input to predict the 12 hours ahead of residual chlorine at private homes evaluated at hourly training lengths of 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2 years. Results revealed that the model achieved high accuracy in predicting hourly residual chlorine with general increasing model error from winter, spring, autumn, and summer due to the progressing instabilities in chlorine concentrations from low to high temperatures. Moreover, smaller system tends to be more unstable incurring lower model performance relative to larger system. In terms of optimal training length, ≥1Y training models are found to have lesser chance of data drift occurrence prospectively reducing model retraining frequency in the future.

Dilemmas and Governance Strategies in the Implementation of the Modern Apprenticeship System in Chinese Vocational Colleges: A Perspective from Principal-Agent Theory

As China's industrial economy transitions towards high-quality development, the demand for highly skilled technical personnel has surged. The modern apprenticeship system, an important mechanism for deepening collaboration between educational institutions and enterprises, has been widely promoted within vocational colleges. However, nearly a decade into its implementation, this system faces challenges such as insufficient engagement from enterprises, loose relationships between schools and businesses, and a lack of assessment and feedback mechanisms. These issues have led to suboptimal outcomes in talent development. This paper innovatively applies principal-agent theory to expose conflicts in value demands, adverse selection, and moral hazards within the multifaceted principal-agent relationships among vocational colleges, enterprises, and the government. It proposes governance strategies that involve multi-stakeholder participation in policy-making, the establishment of qualification entry systems for cooperative enterprises, and the improvement of supervision and incentive mechanisms. These strategies aim to resolve conflicts and enhance cooperation efficiency, thereby providing robust support for the effective implementation of the modern apprenticeship system in vocational colleges.

Frost resistance and improvement techniques of recycled concrete: a comprehensive review

In the pursuit of sustainable construction practices, the utilization of recycled concrete has emerged as a pivotal strategy, distinguished by its commitment to resource conservation and environmental stewardship. Nevertheless, the inherent micro-porosity and micro-cracking within the old mortar of recycled concrete may lead to weak bonding performance at the interfacial transition zone, culminating in diminished strength, reduced density, and elevated water absorption rates compared to conventional concrete, which critically impairs its performance in cold climates subjected to freeze-thaw cycles. Consequently, this paper provides a structured examination of the frost resistance properties of recycled concrete subjected to freeze-thaw cycling. Initially, the study delineates the mechanisms of frost-induced damage in recycled concrete by synthesizing the degradation pathways observed in both conventional and recycled concrete during freeze-thaw exposure. Subsequently, a detailed analysis is conducted to identify the pivotal factors affecting frost resistance, encompassing the proportion and moisture affinity of recycled aggregates, the addition of silica fume and fly ash, the water-to-cement ratio, and the degree of water saturation. In the final segment, the study compiles and reviews the strategies for bolstering the frost resistance of recycled concrete, including the incorporation of air-entraining admixtures, fiber reinforcement, and aggregate modification approaches. The objective of this research is to offer a thorough comprehension of recycled concrete, with a concentration on the mechanisms of frost damage, the critical determinants of frost resistance, and interventions to augment its resilience against freezing conditions. On this basis, the present paper, in conjunction with the characteristics and current research status of recycled concrete, proposes recommendations for the application of recycled concrete in cold regions. This review is anticipated to facilitate researchers in gaining a comprehensive understanding of the freeze-thaw characteristics of recycled concrete and the measures to enhance its frost resistance. Furthermore, it aims to assist engineering and technical personnel in selecting appropriate treatment methods to improve the frost resistance of recycled concrete in cold regions, thereby promoting the practical engineering application of recycled concrete in such areas.

Overview of the Knowledge Level of Pharmaceutical Technical Personnel on the Prevention of Covid-19 in Balikpapan City

Coronavirus disease 19 is a disease caused by a new type of coronavirus, COVID-19. This virus has been declared a pandemic and can spread rapidly through direct human contact. COVID-19 has an impact on pharmaceutical services, especially Pharmaceutical Technical Personel (PTP), therefore it is important to describe the level of knowledge of PTP in preventing COVID-19 in Balikpapan City. The purpose of this study is to describe the level of knowledge of pharmacy technical personnel on COVID-19 prevention in Balikpapan City. This research uses quantitative method, this type of research is descriptive (non-experimental) observational with cross sectional approach. The data of this study were obtained from the research subjects, namely pharmacy technicians working in Balikpapan City through questionnaires. Data analysis method is bivariate analysis and univariate analysis to see the frequency of PTP knowledge level in Balikpapan City on COVID-19 prevention. The results showed that there is a relationship between PTP characteristics on place of work, education, and age with knowledge level on COVID-19 prevention. Meanwhile, PTP characteristics on gender and type of job have no relationship with the level of knowledge on COVID-19 prevention in Balikpapan City. The knowledge level of PTP on COVID-19 prevention in Balikpapan City is obtained by 6.50% in good category, 24.80% in fair category, and 68.70% in poor category.

Exploration of Integrating English Courses with Professional Courses in Higher Vocational Colleges

With the acceleration of globalization and the increasing demand for high-quality technical and skilled personnel, the integration of English courses with professional courses in vocational colleges has become an important direction in educational reform. This paper explores the current state and challenges of vocational education, elucidates the importance of English courses in higher vocational education, and emphasizes the significance of curriculum integration in cultivating versatile talents. In the theoretical foundation section, the paper reviews language learning theories and vocational education theories, presents the basic concepts and framework of curriculum integration, and analyzes the theoretical basis for the collaborative development of language and professional education. In terms of practical pathways, the paper proposes specific implementation strategies such as curriculum design and content optimization, innovative teaching methods and approaches, teacher professional development and interdisciplinary collaboration, and student evaluation and feedback mechanisms. The research indicates that systematic curriculum integration can significantly enhance the language skills and professional competencies of vocational students, promoting their overall development.

Exploration on Classification Management of Digital Books in University Libraries

With the rapid development of information technology, the digital book resources of university libraries are increasingly abundant, and it is urgent to carry out scientific and effective classification management. This paper deeply explores the classification management of digital books in university libraries. Firstly, it expounds the importance of classification management of digital books, including improving the efficiency of book retrieval, optimizing the allocation of book resources and promoting knowledge sharing and academic exchange. Then, it analyzes the current situation and problems of digital book classification management in university libraries, mainly including inconsistent classification standards, single classification methods and insufficient technical support. Aiming at these problems, corresponding strategies are put forward, such as formulating a unified classification standard and establishing a dynamic update mechanism; Comprehensive use of a variety of classification methods, including classification based on user needs and knowledge graphs; Strengthen technical support, increase technical investment and train professional and technical personnel; Increase user engagement, encourage reader feedback and conduct user training activities. Through these explorations, it aims to provide a useful reference for the classification management of digital books in university libraries, so as to better meet the needs of college teachers and students for information resources.

One-Pot Assay for Rapid Detection of Stenotrophomonas maltophilia by RPA-CRISPR/Cas12a.

Stenotrophomonas maltophilia (S. maltophilia, SMA) is a common opportunistic pathogen that poses a serious threat to the food industry and human health. Traditional detection methods for SMA are time-consuming, have low detection rates, require complex and expensive equipment and professional technical personnel for operation, and are unsuitable for on-site detection. Therefore, establishing an efficient on-site detection method has great significance in formulating appropriate treatment strategies and ensuring food safety. In the present study, a rapid one-pot detection method was established for SMA using a combination of Recombinase Polymerase Amplification (RPA) and CRISPR/Cas12a, referred to as ORCas12a-SMA (one-pot RPA-CRISPR/Cas12a platform). In the ORCas12a-SMA detection method, all components were added into a single tube simultaneously to achieve one-pot detection and address the problems of nucleic acid cross-contamination and reduced sensitivity caused by frequent cap opening during stepwise detection. The ORCas12a-SMA method could detect at least 3 × 10° copies·μL-1 of SMA genomic DNA within 30 min at 37 °C. Additionally, this method exhibited sensitivity compared to the typical two-step RPA-CRISPR/Cas12a method. Overall, the ORCas12a-SMA detection offered the advantages of rapidity, simplicity, high sensitivity and specificity, and decreased need for complex large-scale instrumentation. This assay is the first application of the one-pot platform based on the combination of RPA and CRISPR/Cas12a in SMA detection and is highly suitable for point-of-care testing. It helps reduce losses in the food industry and provides assistance in formulating timely and appropriate antimicrobial treatment plans.

The Impact of Lean Management Implementation on Inpatient Discharge Prescription Services at Pertamina Central Hospital

Background: The lead time of inpatient discharge prescription services affects the overall discharge process. In 2022, lead times at Pertamina Central Hospital's Inpatient Pharmacy varied, requiring continuous efforts to meet target times and avoid disrupting discharge plans. This research aims to evaluate the impact of lean management on reducing these lead times. Methods: The study employs a combined quantitative and qualitative research design with an action research approach. It was conducted from March 4 to May 8, 2023, involving pharmacists, pharmaceutical technical personnel, compounders, and pharmacy couriers. Data analysis included measuring lead time changes pre- and post-lean management implementation and narrative analysis of qualitative findings. Results: After implementing lean management, the lead time for non-compounded prescriptions decreased from 42.6 to 25 minutes, with value added ratio (VAR) increasing from 18.9% to 27%. For compounded prescriptions, lead time dropped from 67 to 45.7 minutes, and VAR rose from 25.2% to 37.9%. The Mann-Whitney U test confirmed the significant difference in average lead time. Conclusion: The implementation of lean management in inpatient discharge prescription services has been proven to improve lead time and increase process efficiency (VAR).

The article highlights the work on the establishment of the road works management apparatus, the road works themselves carried out in the Far Eastern region after the Civil War and intervention. There were certain organi-zational difficulties in road construction, which were managed only after the creation of the Far Eastern Railway District. The authors give a brief list of restored and under construction dirt and highway roads of both state and local importance. At the same time, particular attention is paid to the construction of the Amur-Yakutsk highway, the laying of which began during the First World War. The article discusses the main problems of the industry’s development: lack of funds, lack of engineering and technical personnel and road workers. This, in turn, caused the need to use the free labor of the surrounding peasants in the construction of local roads. The first steps in the mechanization of road works in the region are highlighted. When writing the article, the authors relied on methodological principles generally recognized in historical science, the most important of which are the principle of objectivity and the principle of historicism.

An Extension of Small Business Cybersecurity Into the Classroom and Community

Small business owners often feel immune to hackers because of their business’s size and consequently do not have adequate security training, safeguards, policies, or insurance. Accordingly, small businesses are easy and frequent cybercrime targets because of limited budgets, technical personnel, and awareness. To increase small business owners’ awareness, a university conference for Cybersecurity and Small Business was offered with PCI DSS, Social Engineering, and Company Cases topics. To augment such cyber knowledge generation, this paper contains cybersecurity outreach activities for small businesses and cybersecurity learning activities for entrepreneurship students who aspire to be small business owners.

Current status and prospects of health hazards database for chemical hazards

In order to facilitate technical personnel related to occupational health and safety production to search, obtain, and master information on the hazard classification and health effects of chemical hazards, this article surveyed 14 commonly used foreign databases and 9 commonly used domestic databases, analyzed the characteristics, main content, scope of application, and network resources of each database, and considered the development of database for occupational health hazard of chemical hazards.

Exploration of the Influencing Factors of Farmers' Willingness and Behavior in New Media Marketing under the Background of “Digital Commerce and Rural Development”

Under the background of “Digital Commerce and Rural Development”, utilizing new media for marketing has become the main way to expand the sales of agricultural products.This paper takes farmer survey data as a sample, based on the theory of planned behavior, explores the influencing factors of the “Digital Commerce and Rural Development” policy, and establishes a model of the influencing factors of farmer’ new media marketing willingness and behavior in the new media environment.Research has found that subjective norms have become the most important factor influencing farmers’ attitudes towards using new media for marketing agricultural products. The policy of Digital Commerce and Rural Development’ has become the most important factor affecting farmers’ intention to use new media for marketing agricultural products. Perceived behavioral control does not have a significant impact on farmers’ attitudes and intentions towards using new media for marketing agricultural products.From the aspects of strengthening the concept of new media marketing, carrying out training of new media marketing, building a public service support system, and cultivating and introducing professional and technical personnel, this paper provides policy suggestions for enhancing farmers’ willingness to carry out new media marketing.

Uncertainty Quantification in Mineral Resource Estimation

AbstractMineral resources are estimated to establish potential orebody with acceptable quality (grade) and quantity (tonnage) to validate investment. Estimating mineral resources is associated with uncertainty from sampling, geological heterogeneity, shortage of knowledge and application of mathematical models at sampled and unsampled locations. The uncertainty causes overestimation or underestimation of mineral deposit quality and/or quantity, affecting the anticipated value of a mining project. Therefore, uncertainty is assessed to avoid any likely risks, establish areas more prone to uncertainty and allocate resources to scale down potential consequences. Kriging, probabilistic, geostatistical simulation and machine learning methods are used to estimate mineral resources and assess uncertainty, and their applicability depends on deposit characteristics, amount of data available and expertise of technical personnel. These methods are scattered in the literature making them challenging to access when needed for uncertainty quantification. Therefore, this review aims to compile information about uncertainties in mineral resource estimation scatted in the literature and develop a knowledge base of methodologies for uncertainty quantification. In addition, mineral resource estimation comprises different interdependent steps, in and through which uncertainty accumulates and propagates toward the final estimate. Hence, this review demonstrates stepwise uncertainty propagation and assessment through various phases of the estimation process. This can broaden knowledge about mineral resource estimation and uncertainty assessment in each step and increase the accuracy of mineral resource estimates and mining project viability.

This overview article addresses various areas such as large language models (LLM), diagnostics and robotics, shedding light on the positive aspects of Healthcare4.0 and showcasing exciting methods and application examples in cardiology. It delves into the broad knowledge base and enormous potential of LLMs, highlighting their immediate benefits as digital assistants or for administrative tasks. In diagnostics, the increasing usefulness of wearables is emphasized and an AI for predicting heart filling pressures based on cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is introduced. Additionally, it discusses the revolutionary methodology of adigital simulation of the physical heart (digital twin). Finally, it addresses both regulatory frameworks and abrief vision of data-driven healthcare delivery, explaining the need for investments in technical personnel and infrastructure to achieve a more effective medicine.

The Influence of Governance on Cyber Supply Chain Performance with Mediating Effect from Cyber Supply Chain Visibility

This research aims to analyze the influence of governance on Cyber Supply Chain (CSC) Performance, which is mediated by Cyber Supply Chain (CSC) Visibility to achieve effective and efficient cyber supply chain risk management (CSCRM) practices for the supply chain management (SCM) process. The population of this research is all manufacturing companies on the island of Java, Indonesia, that have used computerized systems in their supply chain processes with qualifications or certifications ISO 27001, ISO 28000, ISO 28001, or other certifications that are management information system standards. This research will reveal the strengths or weaknesses of the mediating role of CSC Visibility on CSC Performance in manufacturing companies. This study also found empirical evidence that having a dedicated governance team consisting of technical and non-technical personnel is important in CSCRM in the manufacturing industry, especially Java Island in Indonesia.

The efficiency of clinical laboratories: the case of Kerman province

BackgroundMedical diagnostic laboratories are an essential work environment that plays an important role in diagnosing, treating, and being sensitive to diseases. One way to evaluate laboratories’ performance is to calculate their efficiency. This study investigates the efficiency of laboratories that are related to health centers in the south of Iran.MethodsThis study was conducted in 2021. The input numbers include: the number of technical personnel and the number of cell counters, and the output data includes: the scores obtained from the level 2 health laboratory evaluation list. And efficiency was calculated with DEAP software. The analysis is accomplished by the assumption of input-oriented.FindingsThe efficiency of laboratories of Orzueeyeh and Ravar Cities had the highest efficiency with the assumption of variable returns to scale efficiency 1, and the model of all laboratories is the laboratory of Ravar City. The laboratories of Kuhbanan and Rabor cities had the lowest efficiency with the assumption of variable returns to scale efficiency of 0.859 and 0.899, respectively. The average scale efficiency, Variable returns to scale, and constant returns to scale for laboratories in the cities of Kerman province are 0.842, 0.943, and 0.895, respectively.ConclusionsTo increase the efficiency of laboratories, significant resources and funds should be used, as well as few studies have been done on the efficiency of laboratories, which requires more attention.

Theoretical Domains Framework: A Bibliometric and Visualization Analysis from 2005-2023.

The Theoretical Domains Framework (TDF) is among the most extensively utilised foundational frameworks in implementation science. It was developed from 33 psychological theories, with the latest version identifying 14 domains encompassing 84 theoretical constructs. These domains and constructs capture the complexity of factors that affect behaviours, making the framework a valuable tool for designing and implementing interventions within health and social care settings. To summarise the development, hot topics, and future trends in TDF-related research and provide implementation practitioners with more information on the application of TDF. We used TDF as the topic and searched the ISI Web of Science Core Collection, identifying 1382 relevant publications. We used analytical tools such as Excel, Tableau, VOSviewer, and Citespace to conduct a bibliometric analysis of the relevant publication. We identified the United Kingdom as the primary contributor, with University College London as the key institution. Susan Michie ranked highest in total citations. The analysis highlighted cancer and stroke as primary clinic medicine-related topics using TDF. Emerging themes encompass abuse, violence, maternal health, antenatal care, patient involvement, and trauma-informed care et al. "Nurse" and "qualitative research" emerged as recent and enduring hotspots, possibly indicating future research trends. This article represents the first attempt to summarise the TDF using bibliometric analysis. We suggest this method can be used to analyse other theoretical frameworks in scientific implementation of its objectivity and quantifiability. Overall, the application scope of TDF is shifting from public health towards more specialised clinical directions, although its application in the field of public health is continuously expanding. In the future, the number of users of TDF is also expected to expand from implementation scientists to professional technical personnel.

Practical Research on the Comprehensive Quality of School-Enterprise Joint Precision Training of Higher Vocational Pharmacy Professionals

With the deepening of China's higher vocational education reform, the innovation of talent training mode has become the key to improve the quality of education and adapt to the needs of society. Especially in the field of pharmacy, the comprehensive requirements for the quality of professional and technical personnel are increasing day by day. Centering on the precise training mode of school-enterprise cooperation, this paper conducts practical research on the comprehensive quality training of pharmacy professionals in higher vocational colleges, aiming to explore and optimize the talent training program, in order to better adapt to the diversified needs of the development of enterprises in the industry. The research adopts the method of combining quantitative data analysis with qualitative research, and many representative pharmaceutical enterprises were selected to carry out research together with five higher vocational colleges in the province. Through in-depth interviews with 100 students and 40 corporate instructors, as well as tracking the student internship and project cooperation process, multi-dimensional data including internship effectiveness, skill mastery level, job adaptability and innovative thinking ability were collected. The research results show that the precise training mode of school-enterprise cooperation has significantly improved students' professional skills and practical ability, and the employment rate of students has increased by 15% compared with the traditional mode. However, the survey also found that this model is insufficient in terms of students' independent learning ability and the depth of theoretical knowledge. To this end, the research puts forward targeted improvement measures, such as increasing case teaching, simulation experiment and enterprise internal training, to strengthen students' self-study ability and innovative thinking. The conclusions and suggestions of this study provide a reference for the school-enterprise cooperation mode in other professional fields, and have certain guiding significance and practical value for the development of local higher vocational education.
