Our research seeks to understand, from the perspective of the chemistry professor of the state network that operates in the city Barreiros-PE, what are the impacts of the new information and communication technologies in the teaching practice in chemistry. Our study has as methodological reference the qualitative research, supported in semistructure interviews with teachers of the state public network that work in the city of Barreiros. Our studies show that chemistry teachers who work in the state network of the municipality of Barreiros-PE do not use pedagogically the tools of information and communication technologies that circulate in the educational environments where these teachers work. We realize that the massification of information and communication technologies and their broad and diversified access has contributed to increase the insecurity of teachers who do not pedagogically dominate these tools.
