This research aims to analyze online-based academic supervision of school principals. Academic supervision is a form of supervision and further guidance to improve and help develop teacher competence in learning using web or ICT. Academic supervision media is selected and implemented to answer various challenges that arise; geographical location, limited implementation time, number of supervisors, delayed schedules, and utilization of the digital era. This research method uses literature review based on appropriate book sources and previous studies that have been published nationally, especially articles published in the last three years (2021-2023). The results show that online academic supervision has a positive effect in answering existing problems, facilitating the implementation of supervision, helping to increase teacher competency regarding technological advances, and a flexible coaching model on teacher competency. Another dimension of online academic supervision allows direct relationships or contact between supervisors and teachers to be lost, internet network access that is less than optimal makes supervision hampered, and problems for supervisors and teachers in implementing supervision
