Human–Computer Interaction in Healthcare: A Bibliometric Analysis with CiteSpace

Background/Objectives: Studies on the application and exploration of human–computer interaction (HCI) technologies within the healthcare sector have rapidly expanded, showcasing the immense potential of HCI to enhance medical services, elevate patient experiences, and advance health management. Despite this proliferating interest, there is a notable shortage of comprehensive bibliometric analyses dedicated to the application of HCI in healthcare, which limits a thorough comprehension of the growth trends and future trajectories in this area. Methods: To bridge this gap, we employed bibliometric methods using the CiteSpace tool to systematically review and analyze the current state and trends of HCI research in healthcare. A meticulous topic search of Web of Science yielded 3598 papers published between 2004 and 2023. Results: Through literature analysis, the most productive researchers, institutes, and countries/territories and the collaboration networks among authors and countries within the field were analyzed. Additionally, by conducting a co-citation analysis, journals and literature with high citation rates and influence within the academic community in this field were revealed. Through a cluster analysis based on literature co-citations and keyword burst analyses, we further explored the main research themes and hot topics within the fields of healthcare and HCI. Conclusions: In summary, through a comprehensive and systematic bibliometric analysis, this study provides a solid knowledge foundation for HCI in the healthcare research community, thereby fostering the development of innovative research and the optimization of practical applications in the field.

A bibliometric analysis of mental health among high school students.

In recent years, with the increase in academic pressure and changes in social environment, especially after the outbreak of COVID-19, there has been a significant impact on the mental health of high school students. This trend, which is concerning, requires a systematic bibliometric analysis to develop effective preventive and remedial measures. This study aims to identify and analysis the research hotspots, frontiers and emerging trends in the field of high school students' mental health over the past two decades using CiteSpace software. These findings provide important insights that can shape future research agendas and guide targeted interventions to improve the mental health outcomes of this vulnerable group. This study utilized the Web of Science Core Collection database as its data source to retrieve literature pertaining to high school students' mental health from January 1, 2004, to January 1, 2023. The initial search yielded 1,764 relevant documents. After manually screening to exclude duplicates, conference proceedings, announcements, and irrelevant documents, a total of 1,748 relevant documents were retained. The research employed the CiteSpace 6.2.R4 tool to evaluate various bibliometric indicators of the included literature, including statistics on institutional and author publication volumes, as well as co-citation analysis. A total of 1,748 English-language documents were retrieved, showing an upward trend in publications on high school students' mental health from 2004 to 2024. The research hotspots primarily focus on COVID-19 pandemic, depression, bullying, substance abuse, sexual behavior, Physical Education and their relationships with the mental health of high school students. Future research trends may focus on studies investigating the relationships between the use of electronic cigarettes, sleep disorders, internet addiction, and the mental health of high school students. In addition to the six major research hotspots of COVID-19 pandemic, Depression and stress, Suicidal ideation, Bullying, Sexual behavior and Physical education. Researches should pay more attention to the use of electronic cigarettes, sleep disorders, and Internet addiction among high school students.

Global trends in tertiary lymphoid structures: a bibliometric analysis from 2014 to 2023.

Tertiary lymphoid structures (TLS) are increasingly recognized for their role in immunity. Despite growing interest, a systematic bibliometric analysis of TLS-related research has been lacking. To provide a comprehensive overview of current research trends and hotspots, we conducted a bibliometric analysis using data from the Web of Science Core Collection. We retrieved TLS-related publications from the Science Citation Index Expanded within the Web of Science Core Collection from January 2014 to December 2023. Co-occurrence analysis with "VOSviewer" identified current status and research hotspots, while "CiteSpace" was used for co-citation analysis to assess knowledge evolution and bursts. Thematic evolution was explored using bibliometrics to identify emerging keyword trends. Additionally, we examined country/region, institutional, and author contributions and collaborations. Tables were created using Microsoft Word. A total of 785 publications were analyzed, showing a continuous growth trend from 2017 to 2023, indicating escalating interest in TLS among researchers. Leading countries in TLS research were China (231 publications), the United States (212 publications), and France (89 publications). The most productive institution and author were the "Institut national de la santé et de la recherche médicale" (70 publications) and Catherine Sautes-Fridman (21 publications), respectively. Key topics included TLS, B cells, and immunotherapy. Recent research has focused on mechanisms linking TLS with cancers, such as immunotherapy, tumor microenvironment, tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes, prognosis, and immune checkpoint inhibitors, highlighting an expanding area of study. Additionally, TLS' potential as a biomarker for predicting immunotherapy efficacy across different cancer types remains a burgeoning research direction. This study provides a comprehensive analysis of global TLS-related publications, revealing key literature metrics and identifying influential articles and emerging research concerns. These findings contribute valuable insights into the role of TLS in immunotherapy and suggest future directions for this dynamic field.

Analyzing research trends and developments in osseointegration in patients with extremity amputations: Systematic bibliometric analysis and research recommendations.

Bone-anchored protheses (BAPs) by means of osseointegrated implants are increasingly being used in amputees with socket-related issues. Clinical advancements are being published by more and more centers worldwide. Although the number of publications and interest in BAP is growing, a systematic evaluation of scholarly output is lacking. To identify scholarly output, understand research trends and make research recommendations in the clinical field of BAP. Systematic searches in Medline All, Embase, Web of Science Core Collection, Cochrane Library, and Google Scholar were completed in February 2023. The results were deduplicated, screened, and assessed for quality by independent reviewers. Inclusion criteria were as follows: clinical studies and BAP in the extremities. Articles were excluded if they were animal or fundamental studies, nonclinical reports, had a study population less than 10 patients, or BAP was performed in areas other than extremities. One hundred twelve articles were included and published between 1993 and 2023. An annual growth rate of 10.3% was found and research was published in 62 different journals. Prosthetics and Orthotics International, Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research and The Bone & Joint Journal were the most prolific journals. Hagberg K, Aschoff HH, and Branemark R were major contributors to BAP research. Collaborations are predominantly among high-income countries. Main research trends were on rehabilitation, questionnaires, complication managements, and implant treatment. Research on BAP shows an increasing global trend, highlighting key research areas and authors. A unified global research agenda, stakeholders' collaborations, and consensus are essential for addressing knowledge gaps and development future direction of BAP.

A Decade in Blockchain: A Bibliometric Reflection on the Growth and Interdisciplinary Reach of a Disruptive Technology

This study seeks to deliver a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of blockchain research undertaken from 2013 to 2023. It seeks to map the field’s evolution, highlight emerging trends, and identify key contributors and thematic areas. Understanding these aspects is crucial for guiding future research and policymaking in the rapidly growing domain of blockchain technology. The study utilises a systematic bibliometric analysis approach and the Scopus database was used for collecting data. The analysis includes keyword trends, citation patterns, author productivity, and network analysis. The results reveal significant expansion and diversification in blockchain research, with 13,369 publications and 52,009 contributing authors. Key metrics include a total citation count of 266,483 and an average of 19.93 citations per paper, underscoring the field’s scholarly impact. The study identifies core research themes such as smart contracts, security, IoT integration, and emerging topics like AI and sustainability. The findings highlight the interdisciplinary nature of blockchain research and its global distribution, with notable contributions from China and the United States. The study’s reliance on selected databases and predefined keywords may exclude relevant grey literature and industry reports. Future research should integrate these sources for a more complete view. This study provides a panoramic view of blockchain research, offering valuable insights into its development, current state, and future directions. Identifying key trends, influential contributors, and emerging themes contributes to the academic discourse and supports strategic planning for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers engaged in blockchain technology.

Bibliometric analysis of the flow of publications of Russian journals of the Higher Attestation Commission under the code 5.10.4 Library Science, Bibliography and Book Studies

The authors discuss the results of the bibliometric analysis of Russian journals in the field of library science, bibliography and book studies. The purpose of the study is to build the rating of scientific journals on the List of the Higher Attestation Commission in the code 5.10.4 Library Science, Bibliography and Book Studies, which will allow potential authors to navigate publications: in their citation, the average Hirsch index of regular authors, the number of views and downloads of articles, the quartile of the journal that determines the journal relevance and authority with the scientific community. These indicators, especially the quartile, are crucial for the authors who seek publishing their papers to prepare for their dissertation defense, so that they avoid mistakes when choosing a journal.The bibliometric approach to professional periodicals, its analysis based on the ratings of the RSCI and the Higher Attestation Commission, is embraced by the leading library scientists which is evidenced by publications of the Russian State Library, Russian Library Association, State Public Scientific Technological Library of the Russian Academy of Sciences Siberian Branch, etc.The significance of this study lies in studying the periodicals included in the List of the Higher Attestation Commission, and providing the comparative analysis of indicators affecting the journals ratings. According to the authors, the systematic bibliometric analysis based on RSCI indicators reveals the potential of individual journals, directions for their improvement and enables to determine the core serials of the industry documentary stream.The findings of the study are seen as significant in the light of the changing specialty itself, the growing interest to domestic periodicals against the background of sanctions in the field of scientific information. The authors have developed their recommendations for journals’ editorial boards.

A Review of Renewable Energy Investment in Belt and Road Initiative Countries: A Bibliometric Analysis Perspective

Since the proposal of the “Belt and Road” initiative (BRI) in 2013, China’s renewable energy investments in the countries along the route have shown rapid growth and diversification. These investments have shifted from initial product exports and engineering contracts to deeper equity investments and financing cooperation. They not only promote a global energy structure transformation towards green and low-carbon development but also bring significant economic growth and social progress to the participating countries. This study aims to systematically review the research status and trends of renewable energy investments in “Belt and Road” countries through comprehensive bibliometric analysis. Utilizing the Web of Science database and VOS viewer 1.6.17 software for visualization, this research reveals the publication trends, high-impact articles, institutional collaborations, and author networks in this field. Additionally, through keyword co-occurrence network analysis, three core research themes are identified: investment motivations, synergy effects, renewable energy consumption, and international cooperation. This systematic bibliometric analysis not only outlines the current research landscape but also provides important insights for identifying emerging research directions, thereby supporting more in-depth investigations into renewable energy investments within the “Belt and Road” initiative.

The impact of high-intensity interval training on women's health: A bibliometric and visualization analysis.

High-intensity interval training (HIIT) can significantly improve health indicators such as cardiopulmonary function, metabolic efficiency, and muscle strength in a short period. However, due to significant physiological and metabolic differences between males and females, the effects of HIIT vary between genders. Therefore, exploring the specific impacts of HIIT on women's health is crucial. Although there is a considerable amount of individual research on the impact of HIIT on women's health, a systematic bibliometric analysis is still lacking. Publications related to HIIT in women's health were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection database, and tools like Microsoft Office Excel 2021, VOSviewer, and Citespace were used to create visualized tables and views. The study included 808 publications distributed across 1234 institutions in 61 countries, authored by 3789 researchers. The United States, Australia, and Canada lead in this domain. Researchers like Astorino TA and Gibala MJ are notably influential in this field. The research has been prominently published in specific academic journals and widely cited by high-impact journals. Highly cited and bursting documents primarily discuss the effects of HIIT on metabolic adaptation, muscle adaptation, cardiovascular health, insulin sensitivity, and exercise performance. Frequent keywords include "aerobic exercise," "sprint interval training," "resistance training," "obesity," "body composition," "aging," and "insulin resistance." Keyword burst analysis reveals that early studies focused primarily on basic concepts and training models, which then expanded to specific physiological responses, applications in particular populations, and impacts on specific diseases. This field has emerged as a research hotspot with international characteristics and extensive academic productivity. Journals and cited journals hold high academic influence, with highly cited and bursty references laying a solid theoretical and practical foundation for the field. In the rapid development of the past decade, research hotspots and frontier directions such as metabolic adaptation, muscle adaptation, cardiovascular health, exercise performance, and personalized training plans have been formed.

Global hotspots and research trends of radiation-induced skin injury: a bibliometric analysis from 2004 to 2023.

Radiation therapy has become an important treatment for many malignant tumours after surgery and for palliative tumour care. Although modern radiotherapy technology is constantly improving, radiation damage to normal tissues is often difficult to avoid, and radiation-induced skin injury (RSI) is a common complication, manifested as skin erythema, peeling, ulceration, and even bone and deep organ damage, seriously affect the quality of life for patients. Basic research and clinical trials related to RSI have achieved certain results, while no researchers have conducted comprehensive bibliometric studies. A comprehensive bibliometric analysis of publications on RSI published between 2004 and 2023 was conducted to identify current hotspots and future directions in this area of study. RSI-related publications published between January 1, 2004, and December 31, 2023, were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database for analysis using VOSviewer and CiteSpace analytics. A total of 1009 publications on RSI from 2004 to 2023 were included in the WoSCC database. The United States had the highest productivity with 299 papers, accounting for 29.63% of the total production, followed by China with 193 papers (19.13%) and Japan with 111 papers (11.00%). In terms of research institutions and journals, the University of Toronto and Journal of Supportive Care in Cancer published the highest number of papers. Professor Edward Chow published the most articles, while Professor Shuyu Zhang was the most cited. The top ten most-cited papers focused on the pathogenesis, prevention, and management of RSI. Keyword co-occurrence analysis and the top 25 keywords with the strongest citation bursts suggest that current research focuses on the pathogenesis, prevention, and treatment management of RSI. This study conducted a systematic bibliometric analysis of RSI publications from 2004 to 2023; identified the trends in RSI publications, major research countries, major research institutions, major research journals, major research authors, and major research keywords; and revealed the future development direction and research hotspots of this field. This study provides a valuable reference for future RSI research.

The current status and future trends of BET research in oncology

BackgroundBET family proteins are important epigenetic and transcriptional regulators involved in the control of tumorigenesis and development and have become important targets for cancer therapy. However, there is no systematic bibliometric analysis in this field. A visual analysis of the research hotspots and trends of BET is helpful to understand the future development direction. MethodWe used CiteSpace, VOSviewer, and Excel to visualize and analyze the trends regarding authors, journals, countries or regions, highly cited papers, and keywords in the field. ResultThe results included a total of 946 publications. There are many more papers on BET proteins published since 2013. The papers are mainly from 44 countries, led by the U.S. and China. A total of 7381 authors were identified, among which Bradner, J.E. had the greatest number of articles and the greatest influence. Cancer Discovery was the journal with the most citations per article. Our analysis identified the most influential papers in the field, including highly cited papers and citation burst references. The most frequent keywords included ‘expression’, ‘c-Myc’, ‘cancer’, ‘BRD4’, ‘BET inhibition’, ‘resistance’, ‘differentiation’, and ‘JQ1’, which represent the focus of current and developing research fields. ConclusionResearch on BET is thriving. Collaboration and exchanges between countries and institutions must be strengthened in the future, and the mechanisms of BET-related pathways, the relationship between BET and various diseases, and the development of new BET inhibitors have become the major focus of current research and the trend of future research.

A Systematic Bibliometric Analysis of Value Chain Literacy for Competitive Advantage: Trends and Future Perspectives

This study aims to explore the literature related to value chain literacy and its impact on competitive advantage through a systematic bibliometric analysis approach. In an era of globalization and fierce competition, a deep understanding of how to manage and optimize value chains is essential for companies looking to achieve and maintain a competitive advantage. Using the Scopus database, this study identifies research trends, main topics, and main contributions in this field over the past decade, namely from 2015-2024 with an initial total of 1,097 documents before the screening process. The bibliometric analysis carried out included an evaluation of the distribution of publications, leading authors, institutions, and the most productive countries in 36 documents according to the criteria. In addition, this article uses citation analysis and co-citations to identify key articles and intellectual networks formed around the topic of value chain literacy and competitive advantage. The findings of this study reveal that there has been a significant increase in the number of related publications, with a growing focus on the role of digital technology, innovation, and global integration in optimizing the value chain. The results of the study were able to identify several less explored areas that have the potential to become future research topics, such as the impact of climate change on value chain management and the role of artificial intelligence in improving value chain efficiency. The findings provide a future perspective on how value chain literacy can continue to develop and provide added value for companies in achieving competitive advantage.

Global scientific trends on exosomes therapy for osteoporosis from 2004 to 2023: A bibliometric and visualized analysis.

Exosomes have emerged as pivotal mediators in modulating physiological and pathological processes implicated in osteoporosis (OP) through their distinctive mode of intracellular communication. The use of exosomes has evoked considerable interest, catalyzing a surge in research endeavors on a global scale. This study endeavors to scrutinize contemporary landscapes and burgeoning trends in this realm. The Web of Science Core Collection was used to retrieve publications on exosomes therapy for OP within the time frame of January 1, 2004 to December 31, 2023. The bibliometric methodology was applied to study and index the collected data. VOSviewer and citespace software were used to conduct visualization, co-authorship, co-occurrence, and publication trend analyses of exosome therapy in OP. A total of 610 publications (443 articles and 167 reviews) from 51 countries and 911 institutions were included in this study. Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Central South University, Sichuan University, and Zhejiang University are leading research institutions in this field. Stem Cell Research Therapy published the highest number of articles and has emerged as the most cited journal. Of the 4077 scholars who participated in the study, Xie, Hui, Zhang, Yan, Tan, and Yi-Juan had the largest number of articles. Furthermore, according to the cluster analysis of external keywords, future research hotspots can be categorized into 3 directions: research status of exosomes for the treatment of OP, treatment of OP through exosome-regulated signaling pathways, and exosomes as targeted drug delivery systems. This study suggests that the number of future publications on exosome therapy for OP will increase, with a focus on fundamental investigations into drug-loading capacities and molecular mechanisms. In summary, this study presents the first systematic bibliometric analysis of exosome therapy publications in OP, providing an objective and comprehensive overview of the field and a valuable reference for researchers in this domain.

Spatial Perception: A Critical Bibliometric Inquiry

In this study, it is aimed to answer the research question "what is the place and status of architectural research in perception studies?". At the same time, determining the validity of the VOSviewer program, which is widely used for systematic bibliometric analysis, within the scope of the study constitutes an indirect secondary objective of the research. In this direction, two consecutive bibliometric analyses, each with a different depth, were conducted to see the range of spatial perception studies and to explore its sub-expansions. In this context, two keyword groups were created for the first two phases of the study. Document type and category were restricted to determine the research framework. In this framework, the studies identified in the first phase (n=2727) and the second phase (n=243) were transferred to the VOSviewer program for bibliometric analysis and analyzed. In the last phase of the study, a flow-quantity diagram was created for the article studies identified in the second phase using the Sankey diagram generator (n=92). When the studies scanned in Web of Science were analyzed, it was found that the studies involving the concepts in the research framework were mostly related to the concept of comfort and the least related to the concept of happiness.

Research on ultrasound-based radiomics: a bibliometric analysis.

A large number of studies related to ultrasound-based radiomics have been published in recent years; however, a systematic bibliometric analysis of this topic has not yet been conducted. In this study, we attempted to identify the hotspots and frontiers in ultrasound-based radiomics through bibliometrics and to systematically characterize the overall framework and characteristics of studies through mapping and visualization. A literature search was carried out in Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database from January 2016 to December 2023 according to a predetermined search formula. Bibliometric analysis and visualization of the results were performed using CiteSpace, VOSviewer, R, and other platforms. Ultimately, 466 eligible papers were included in the study. Publication trend analysis showed that the annual publication trend of journals in ultrasound-based radiomics could be divided into three phases: there were no more than five documents published in this field in any year before 2018, a small yearly increase in the number of annual publications occurred between 2018 and 2022, and a high, stable number of publications appeared after 2022. In the analysis of publication sources, China was found to be the main contributor, with a much higher number of publications than other countries, and was followed by the United States and Italy. Frontiers in Oncology was the journal with the highest number of papers in this field, publishing 60 articles. Among the academic institutions, Fudan University, Sun Yat-sen University, and the Chinese Academy of Sciences ranked as the top three in terms of the number of documents. In the analysis of authors and cocited authors, the author with the most publications was Yuanyuan Wang, who has published 19 articles in 8 years, while Philippe Lambin was the most cited author, with 233 citations. Visualization of the results from the cocitation analysis of the literature revealed a strong centrality of the subject terms papillary thyroid cancer, biological behavior, potential biomarkers, and comparative assessment, which may be the main focal points of research in this subject. Based on the findings of the keyword analysis and cluster analysis, the keywords can be categorized into two major groups: (I) technological innovations that enable the construction of radiomics models such as machine learning and deep learning and (II) applications of predictive models to support clinical decision-making in certain diseases, such as papillary thyroid cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), and breast cancer. Ultrasound-based radiomics has received widespread attention in the medical field and has been gradually been applied in clinical research. Radiomics, a relatively late development in medical technology, has made substantial contributions to the diagnosis, prediction, and prognostic evaluation of diseases. Additionally, the coupling of artificial intelligence techniques with ultrasound imaging has yielded a number of promising tools that facilitate clinical decision-making and enable the practice of precision medicine. Finally, the development of ultrasound-based radiomics requires multidisciplinary cooperation and joint efforts from the field biomedicine, information technology, statistics, and clinical medicine.

Mendelian randomization as a cornerstone of causal inference for gut microbiota and related diseases from the perspective of bibliometrics.

Gut microbiota, a special group of microbiotas in the human body, contributes to health in a way that can't be ignored. In recent years, Mendelian randomization, which is a widely used and successful method of analyzing causality, has been investigated for the relationship between the gut microbiota and related diseases. Unfortunately, there seems to be a shortage of systematic bibliometric analysis in this field. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the research progress of Mendelian randomization for gut microbiota through comprehensive bibliometric analysis. In this study, publications about Mendelian randomization for gut microbiota were gathered from 2013 to 2023, utilizing the Web of Science Core Collection as our literature source database. The search strategies were as follows: TS = (intestinal flora OR gut flora OR intestinal microflora OR gut microflora OR intestinal microbiota OR gut microbiota OR bowel microbiota OR bowel flora OR gut bacteria OR intestinal tract bacteria OR bowel bacteria OR gut metabolites OR gut microbiota) and TS = (Mendelian randomization). VOSviewer (version 1.6.18), CiteSpace (version 6.1.R1), Microsoft Excel 2021, and Scimago Graphica were employed for bibliometric and visualization analysis. According to research, from January 2013 to August 2023, 154 publications on Mendelian randomization for gut microbiota were written by 1053 authors hailing from 332 institutions across 31 countries and published in 86 journals. China had the highest number of publications, with 109. Frontiers in Microbiology is the most prolific journal, and Lei Zhang has published the highest number of significant articles. The most popular keywords were "Mendelian randomization," "gut microbiota," "instruments," "association," "causality," "gut microbiome," "risk," "bias," "genome-wide association," and "causal relationship." Moreover, the current research hotspots in this field focus on utilizing a 2-sample Mendelian randomization to investigate the relationship between gut microbiota and associated disorders. This research systematically reveals a comprehensive overview of the literature that has been published over the last 10 years about Mendelian randomization for gut microbiota. Moreover, the knowledge of key information in the field from a bibliometric perspective may greatly facilitate future research in the field.

Research Dynamics in Social Entrepreneurial Orientation: A Bibliometric Analysis Based on Citations and Publications

This paper explores the dynamic field of Social Entrepreneurial Orientation (SEO), which melds entrepreneurial tactics with social goals, aiming to address pressing societal issues such as poverty and environmental sustainability. This study examines SEO's academic discourse and impact through a systematic bibliometric analysis spanning thirteen years (2011-2024), employing data from key databases like Scopus and Web of Science. The research illustrates significant growth in SEO scholarship, evidenced by increasing publications and citations, highlighting the field's expanding influence across academic and practical domains. Our analysis utilizes VOS Viewer for trend analysis, author influence mapping, and thematic clusterization, revealing a rich tapestry of collaborative research and evolving themes such as innovation and sustainability. The findings suggest that while the field has robust scholarly engagement, there is room for methodological advancement to enhance the long-term understanding of SEO's impacts. This study underscores the importance of SEO in fostering sustainable business practices and proposes strategic frameworks that can guide future research, policy-making, and business strategies, aiming to integrate entrepreneurial vigor with societal well-being. Through this scholarly inquiry, the paper contributes to a deeper understanding of SEO's role in driving social change and emphasizes the need for global and interdisciplinary collaborations to tackle broad societal challenges effectively.

Focuses, Developments, and Publication Trends in Facial Bone Aging and Related Fields: A Systematic Bibliometric Analysis (1990-2023).

There is a current lack of bibliometric analysis in facial bone aging and relevant fields. By providing clear and intuitive references, predictions, and guidance for future research, this study aims to fill the gap in the current field, summarize the related research, and guide the researchers' future work. Literature data were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection database. Results Analysis and Citation Report of Web of Science, and CiteSpace software were used to optimize the visualization results, including publication characteristics, disciplines, journals, literature, countries/regions, institutions, authors, research focuses, etc. A total of 277 publications were included after manual screening, and the overall trend of annual publications and citations was increasing. On the basis of the analysis, the characteristics of facial bone aging, aging of facial soft tissue, and facial rejuvenation have been the focuses of research in this field. As stem cell research advances and researchers, deepen their comprehension of facial bone aging, basic scientific research on facial bones has witnessed a growing trend.

An in-depth exploration of recent advances and promising outlooks in biogas production

Biogas is a product composed of a mixture of gases resulting from the biological decomposition of organic material, consisting primarily of methane gas and carbon dioxide, besides smaller amounts of other gases. The current study aims to comprehensively analyze waste-based biogas production to ensure sustainability in the biofuel production process. An advanced systematic bibliometric analysis using keywords, co-citations, and bibliographic coupling analysis was performed on 641 peer-reviewed articles from Web of Science to conclude this goal further. This analysis covers the period from 2000 to 2022, a little more than 20 years. The methodology used reveals several themes that have been identified and addressed in the articles: (1) the importance of the topic in academia by country in which they were analyzed; (2) sectors contributing to biofuel production; (3) equipment used in biofuel production; (4) the most cited waste sources in the database; (5) application purpose of biogas; (6) relevance of other energy sources; (7) areas of interest where biofuels are used; and (8) a comparison between the energy production capacity and the number of publications on the topic by country. Furthermore, the potentials, limitations, perspectives, and future trends highlighted to improve the production process are also considered. Therefore, the conclusion is that organic waste can be used in the sustainable production of goods with added value for society.

Mapping Social Entrepreneurship Concepts through Bibliometric Analysis

Social entrepreneurship has emerged as a significant force in addressing societal challenges through entrepreneurial approaches aimed at creating sustainable solutions. Despite its growing interest, the conceptual framework of social entrepreneurship remains complex and multifaceted, with diverse interpretations and applications. This paper conducts a systematic bibliometric analysis to map the landscape of social entrepreneurship concepts, elucidating key themes, trends, and intellectual connections within the literature. Through advanced bibliometric techniques, including network analysis and thematic clustering, the study identifies seminal works, influential authors, and emerging research topics in the field. The analysis reveals shifts in research focus over time, from foundational concepts to the integration of technology and crowdsourcing methods. Furthermore, potential emerging research areas are identified, offering opportunities for future inquiry. The findings contribute to a nuanced understanding of the conceptual landscape and intellectual structure of social entrepreneurship research, informing scholarly inquiry, policy formulation, and practical interventions in the field.

Systematic bibliometric analysis of research hotspots and trends on the application of premium IOLs in the past 2 decades.

To analysis of research hotspots and trends on the application of premium intraocular lens (PIOLs) in the past 2 decades. The literature search was performed on the Web of Science and included PIOLs studies published between January 2000 and December 2022. The retrieved literature was collated and analyzed by R-tool's Bibliometrix package, CitNetExplorer, CiteSpace and other software. A total of 1801 articles about PIOLs were obtained, most of which were published in Spain and the United States. The organization that published the most articles was the University of Valencia in Spain. Alió JL, and Montés-Micó R, from Spain were the most influential authors in this field. The Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and Journal of Refractive Surgery were the core journals for this field; the top 10 cited articles mainly focus on postoperative satisfaction with multifocal intraocular lens (IOLs) and postoperative results of toric IOLs. Through the keyword analysis, we found that trifocal IOLs, astigmatism and extended depth of focus (EDoF) IOLs are the most discussed topics at present, and the importance of astigmatism and the clinical application of the new generation of PIOLs are the emerging research trends. Bibliometric analysis can effectively help to identify multilevel concerns in PIOLs research and the prevailing research trends in the realm of PIOLs encompass the adoption of EDoF IOLs, trifocal IOLs, and their respective Toric models.
