The digital metro map is an important basis for metro operation, management and passenger service. Passenger flow service and metro management under mass passenger flow conditions are difficult to complete because of the lack of unified map resources. With the development of metro construction, it is necessary to build an intelligent and functional unified digital metro map platform and map application service for the public and operation managers. To this end, the present study proposed a method of converting DXF drawing into SVG maps and a 3D visualization method based on SVG map data. Based on SVG technology, a digital metro map platform was built. Taking Shanghai Metro as an example, the standardization of geographic information objects and map drawings of the Shanghai Metro were realized. The SVG digital map of the Shanghai Metro was drawn. The visualization service based on SVG map was provided. And the digital metro map platform was tested. The results showed that the map conversion method and 3D visualization method were feasible. And the expected metro map functions of the map platform can be realized.
