Improvement of interfacial adhesion of aramid fiber/polycarbonate composites by surface modification with graphene oxide modified sizing agents

AbstractVarious sizing agents were prepared to enhance the interfacial properties between aramid fiber (AF) and polycarbonate (PC), as well as to enhance the mechanical properties of AF/PC composites. It was found that PC sizing agent, P‐GO sizing agent, and PSi‐GO sizing agent effectively coated the surface of AF from the FTIR and XPS and SEM results. The IFSS and mechanical properties of composites reinforced with fibers treated by the sizing agents exhibited significant improvement, as well as their single fiber tensile strength also improved. Specifically, when AF was treated with PSi‐GO sizing agent, the interfacial shear properties between AF and PC increased by a remarkable 78.69%, reaching 22.89 MPa compared to the original AF/PC composite, the tensile strength of the single‐filament exhibited an increment of 12.4% to 26.4 cN/dtex. Moreover, the tensile strength, flexural strength, and impact strength of the composite increased by 5.43%, 77.74%, and 54.71%, respectively. These improvement can be attributed to the GO with a higher concentration of chemical groups and excellent dispersion with modified with the silane agent. These findings suggest that coating the AF with sizing agents can effectively enhance its interfacial adhesion with the matrix, which is useful for its application as the reinforcement in the composites.Highlights Adding GO to the sizing agent to change the Aramid fabric surface properties. Silane coupling agent was used to improve the dispersion of GO on the fiber surface. GO modified sizing agent can improve the flexural strength, tensile strength, and interlaminar shear strength of the composites.

INFLUENCES OF CROSSLINKER AND MOLECULAR WEIGHT OF CHITOSAN ON PHYSICO-CHEMICAL PROPERTIES OF ANTIBACTERIAL TREATED COTTON FABRICS

This study investigated the influences of crosslinking agent and molecular weight on the surface and comfort properties of cotton fabrics treated by chitosan. Two types of chitosan, with molecular weight (2.6 kDa and 187 kDa), with deacetylation degree (DD) of 75%, were used, along with two types of crosslinking agents: citric acid (CA) and dimethylol dihydroxyethyleneurea (DMDHEU). These agents were applied to cotton fabrics for antibacterial treatments. The treated cotton fabrics were evaluated using several quality indicators related to physico-chemical properties, including whiteness (according to ISO 105 J02), breathability (according to ASTM D737:2004), moisture (according to ASTM D 2495-87), and thermal and moisture resistance under steady-state conditions (according to ISO 11092). Moreover, surface features of treated samples were observed through SEM images. The results showed that the antibacterial treatment of fabrics with lower molecular weight (Mw) chitosan was more favorable for the finishing processes, although the whiteness of the treated samples was quite low. Additionally, cotton fabrics treated with the CA agent exhibited better hygroscopicity and vapor transmission, but tended to have more pronounced yellow color, compared to those treated with the DMDHEU agent. These physico-chemical findings clarified the bonding mechanism of cellulose–crosslinker–chitosan in antibacterial treated cotton fabrics.

Nitrogen plasma treated cotton fabrics coated with SiO2 followed by RGO deposition for water purification process

Experimental investigations have been carried out to modify the surface properties of Cotton fabrics using low temperature DC glow discharge nitrogen plasma. Plasma treatment is an eco-friendly, dry and clean process over wet chemical methods and does not suffer from any environmental and health concerns [1]. The important plasma parameters such as power and working pressure are kept constant with various treatment times (5, 15, 30, and 60 mins). The plasma-treated cotton fabrics are optimized by XRD, FTIR, and SEM. A comparative study has been done for the untreated and different treated fibers. Pure SiO2 is coated on untreated and nitrogen plasma treated cotton fabrics by sputtering method. The samples are coated for different sputtering times (10 and 30 min). Finally, Reduced Graphene Oxide (RGO) is coated on plasma treated SiO2 deposited fabrics. RGO is prepared by modified hummers methods [2]. Our results provide a way to develop a filter for water purification.

Investigation of Japanese Onomatopoeia Tsuru-Tsuru as a Suitable Sensory Attribute for Perception of Surface Properties of Textiles by Non-Trained Individuals

In recent years, using non-trained individuals in sensory science for analytical tasks has gained traction. Identifying attributes enabling non-experts to express perceptions is crucial for accurate fabric assessments and effective communication of product properties to consumers. This study explored the potential utility of the Japanese onomatopoeia tsuru-tsuru as a sensory attribute for evaluating fabric surface properties. Two experiments were conducted. The first ranked 16 samples to identify those eliciting the tsuru-tsuru sensation, exploring its relationship with attributes like smoothness and coolness. The second involved a detailed descriptive sensory evaluation of selected samples, examining the relationship between tsuru-tsuru, coolness, slipperiness, and hardness. Fabric preferences assessment and cluster analysis were also employed to understand individual differences in perception. Sensory assessments revealed tsuru-tsuru’s comparable performance with attributes like smoothness and slipperiness, facilitating effective sample distinction. Participants showed high agreement, indicating shared perceptions. Preferences favored fabrics with tsuru-tsuru qualities. The clustering analysis revealed participants had slightly different interpretations of tsuru-tsuru. Overall, results indicated the positive potential value of tsuru-tsuru in describing textile surfaces for non-trained individuals.

Textiles as fomites in the healthcare system.

Nosocomial infections or healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) are acquired under medical care in healthcare facilities. In hospital environments, the transmission of infectious diseases through textiles such as white coats, bed linen, curtains, and towels are well documented. Textile hygiene and infection control measures have become more important in recent years due to the growing concerns about textiles as fomites in healthcare settings. However, systematic research in this area is lacking; the factors contributing to the transmission of infections through textiles needs to be better understood. The review aims to critically explore textiles as contaminants in healthcare systems, and to identify potential risks they may pose to patients and healthcare workers. It delineates different factors affecting bacterial adherence on fabrics, such as surface properties of bacteria and fabrics, and environmental factors. It also identifies areas that require further research to reduce the risk of HAIs and improve textile hygiene practices. Finally, the review elaborates on the strategies currently employed, and those that can be employed to limit the spread of nosocomial infections through fabrics. Implementing textile hygiene practices effectively in healthcare facilities requires a thorough analysis of factors affecting fabric-microbiome interactions, followed by designing newer fabrics that discourage pathogen load. Impact of conventional and modified ring-spun yarn structures on the generation and release of fragmented fibers (microfibers) during abrasive wear and laundering

The abrasive wear of textiles during ordinary use and laundering results in fiber damage, which leads to the generation and release of fragmented fibers (FFs). Ring-spun yarn has a dominant share of about 70% of global spun yarn production. The effect of conventional and modified ring yarn structures (compact, SIRO and SIRO-compact) on FF release from cotton textiles during repeated abrasion and laundering was studied. All prepared cotton yarns and textiles are industrially and commercially relevant. The FFs formed during each abrasion and washing cycle were collected from textiles and quantified. The yarn tensile properties and fabric frictional characteristics were employed to explain the release of FFs. For the first time, the morphology of collected FF ends was associated with the fiber damage nature (granulated and fibrillated) induced by different types of stresses and experimental exposure conditions. The results demonstrated that modified ring yarn structures released a significantly lower FF mass as compared to conventional ring yarn structures. The tensile strength was decreased, and breaking elongation increased after repeated abrasion and washing. The fabric surface properties were also affected by abrasion and laundering. The yarn structure choices impact the amount of released FFs, which are dispersed into the environment as a pollutant or a carrier of pollutants with potential hazards to the health of the environment and living organisms.

Investigation of the Friction Coefficients and Surface Roughness Properties of Denim Fabrics after Abrasion

The abrasion behavior of denim fabrics could be affected by fabric surface properties (surface friction coefficient and roughness) depending on fabric structural parameters. This study investigated the friction coefficients and surface roughness properties of denim fabrics woven with different structural parameters after abrasion. In general, while the abrasion process reduced the fabric friction coefficients during the initial abrasion cycles, the surface's friction coefficient increased as the number of abrasion cycles increased. However, due to the increased abrasion cycles, there was a steady decline in the roughness values of the fabric surfaces. Denim fabrics were woven with a 3/1 twill weave pattern. When the effect of the fabric structural parameters on fabric friction coefficient and roughness values were evaluated, the yarn count (Nm), yarn density, and fabric cover factor showed negative correlation coefficients. In contrast, the thickness, unit weight, and bulk density of fabric showed positive correlation coefficients.

Study of the Influence of the Surface Roughness of Knitted Fabrics from Natural Fibres on the Light Fastness of Their Colours

The article examines the influence of the surface properties of knitted fabrics from cotton and wool of various knitted structures on the light fastness of their colours. The surface properties of knitted fabrics of single plain, 1×1 rib and French piqué knitted structures were evaluated by determining their roughness using a non-contact optical method for processing digital images of the knitted fabric’s surface. The roughness profiles of the corresponding knitted fabric samples were obtained, and the main indicators of surface roughness were calculated: the profile height at ten points Rz and the arithmetic mean profile deviation Ra . Cotton knitted fabrics were dyed with the Bezaktiv Cosmos dye brand, which are bifunctional reactive dyes with monochlorotriazine / vinyl sulfone active groups, and wool knitted fabrics were dyed with acid dyes. The light fastness of the samples was evaluated after exposure to the Light Fastness Tester (Mercury-Tungsten Lamp) RF 1201 BS (REFOND) with a PCE-TCR 200 colorimeter. Colour measurements were averaged for each sample. Total colour difference (dE) was measured on the dyed cotton knitted fabrics samples after light exposure. According to the obtained roughness profiles of cotton and wool knitted fabrics, it can be concluded that the studied knitted fabrics are characterized by different roughness, which depends on their knitted structures. At the same time, a relationship was found between an increase in the roughness of knitted fabrics and the photodestruction of colours by reactive and acid dyes on cotton and wool knitted fabrics, respectively. The results show that the surface structure of knitted fabrics, that is the knitted structure, impacts the process of colour photodestruction and that the amount of dye that has undergone photodestruction increases with the increasing surface roughness of the knitted fabric.

Intermingling pressure level effect on micro polyester melange knitted fabric properties

This study aims at investigating the effects of intermingling pressure level on properties of melange fabrics made of multifilament micro polyester yarns. For this purpose, unit weight, thickness, moisture management, transfer and surface properties of fabrics have been measured, and fabric porosity is analysed by image analysis methods. In addition, image analysis techniques are also used to determine the effect of intermingling pressure level on the visual properties of melange fabrics. Results show that the intermingling pressure level has statistically significant effects on the unit weight, fabric thickness, air permeability, fabric porosity and fabric’s visual properties.

Different influences of hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose pretreatment on surface properties of cotton and polyamide in inkjet printing

Because of the huge difference in the surface properties of cotton fibers and polyamide fibers, the cotton/polyamide fabric has a poor ink-jet printing effect without pretreatment, such as the lighter color and the poor definition. Herein, hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose was used to pretreat the cotton/polyamide fabric to improve the fabric surface properties. The results show that the surface property change of cotton fibers and polyamide fibers are diverse. Due to changes of groups on fiber surface, the surface hydrophilicity of cotton fiber is weakened, while the hydrophilicity of the polyamide fiber surface is enhanced. Meanwhile, the yarn gaps are filled by HPMC, which promotes the migration of the reactive dye inks to adjacent yarns instead of the spread along the single yarn. These combined effects control the diffuse of ink droplets on the fiber surface and are beneficial to improvement of inkjet printing color strength and sharpness for the cotton/polyamide fabrics. Compared with sodium alginate, the K/S of the pretreated cotton/polyamide fabric inkjet printed cyan, magenta, yellow and black are increased by38.5%, 61.2%, 30.9% and 30.5%, respectively. We believe that HPMC pretreatment is an easy and effective method to improve the inkjet printing performance of the cotton/polyamide fabric, which can be of great potential for industrial production in the future.

The comparison of classical weaving and laser technology in denim fabric’s design

Denim fabrics became a preferred product by many people, because of especially being a symbol of comfort. In thisstudy, the aesthetic and physical design of denim fabrics were carried out. It was aimed to compare the surface designsand structural parameters of denim fabrics obtained by weaving and laser technologies. Besides the design steps ofweaving and laser technologies were explained and compared. Twelve denim fabrics having different surface designswere obtained with the intersection of indigo dyed warp and non-dyed weft yarns based on the theme of “contrast” byusing derivatives of twill weave. Besides, these surface patterns were applied to classical denim fabrics by lasertechnology. The surface properties of denim fabrics produced by weaving technology were different for each surfacedesigns because of different floatings. However, weaving is a time-consuming method and the design steps are morecomplicated. On the other hand, surface patterns of fabrics obtained by laser technology were found similar to wovenones and it had advantages as having greater design capacity, being a simpler, faster and eco-friendly method

The effects of yarn and fabric structural parameters on surface friction of plain-woven fabrics

Purpose Friction is considered to be one property of cloth that has considerable importance in the fields of both technological and subjective assessment for surface properties of textile fabrics. The purpose of this study is to investigate the affective aspects of yarn and fabric structural parameters on the behavior of surface friction of plain woven fabrics. Design/methodology/approach In this study, nine varieties of half-bleached cotton plain-woven fabrics with three weft yarn count (tex) and three weft thread density (ppc) are produced and will be examined for their frictional characteristics. The surface frictional properties of plain-woven fabrics were measured by using Kawabata (KES-Fb4) testing instrument. The ANOVA analysis is used to determine how yarn (count) and fabric (density) structural parameters does influence the surface friction properties of the fabrics. Also, the interaction effects between the factors (count and density) on the response variable (surface friction) of plain-woven fabrics. Findings The findings of this study revealed that the effects of weft yarn count and pick-density have statistically significant on the frictional behavior of the fabric surface properties at a 95% confidence interval. Thus, weft yarn count has a positive correlation with both coefficient of friction (MIU) and mean deviation of coefficient of friction (MMD) on frictional behavior of the fabric surface properties. On the other hand, pick density has a negative correlation with both MIU and MMD on frictional behavior of the fabric surface properties. The weft count, pick density and their interactions (Count X Density) have multicollinearity in the experiment term because the variance inflation factor values were greater than one. Originality/value The findings of this study can be routinely used across the textile industries and laboratories to provide a fundamental understanding regarding the surface frictional properties of the woven fabric for different end applications concerning the yarn structural parameters and fabric structural parameters. And the relationship of count and density with surface friction of plain woven fabrics.

Antimicrobial behavior, low-stress mechanical properties, and comfort of knitted fabrics made from poly (hydroxybutyrate-co-hydroxyvalerate)/polylactide acid filaments and cotton yarns

This article presents a systematic investigation of the knitted fabrics made from various blends of intrinsically antimicrobial poly (hydroxybutyrate-co-hydroxyvalerate)/polylactide acid filaments and cotton staple fibers. The effects of blend yarn, fabric structures, and distributions of fibers on antimicrobial properties of resultant yarns and knitted fabrics were studied. The relationships among fiber distribution, blend ratio, and anti-microbial properties were experimentally determined for three blend yarns made by sirofil, wrap-spun, and core-spun spinning technologies. The fabrics made from the sirofil-spun and wrap-spun yarns show better anti-microbial effects against Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Candida albicans than those of the core-spun yarns, according to the standard AATCC100-2012 Antibacterial Finishes on Textile Materials (American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists, 2012). An alternative blending method of co-knitting of the pure poly (hydroxybutyrate-co-hydroxyvalerate)/polylactide acid yarns and cotton yarns achieved excellent antimicrobial effects. Furthermore, a wearing trial of underwear made from the blended knitted fabrics was conducted in a nursing home. The wearing comfort of the garments, low-stress mechanical and surface properties of fabrics were evaluated objectively by the Kawabata Evaluation System of Fabric (KESF) system and subjectively by a questionnaire survey to users.

Hydrophilization of Polyester Textiles by Nonthermal Plasma

Abstract Polyester is a popular class of material used in material engineering. With its 0.4% moisture regain, polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is classified as highly hydrophobic, which originates from its lack of polar groups on its backbone. This study used a parallel-plate nonthermal plasma dielectric barrier discharge system operating at medium pressure in dry air and nitrogen (N2) to alter the surface properties of PET fabrics to increase their hydrophilic capabilities. Water contact angle, atomic force microscopy (AFM), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) were utilized to analyze any effect from the plasma treatment. The wettability analysis revealed a reduction in the contact angle of more than 80% within 5 min for both discharges. Scanning electron microscopy analysis showed no microscopic damage to the fiber structure, guaranteeing that the fabrics’ structural integrity was preserved after treatment. AFM analysis showed an increase in the nanometer roughness, which was considered beneficial because it increased the total surface area, further increasing the hydrophilic capacity. XPS analysis revealed a sharp increase in the presence of polar functional groups, indicating that the induced surface changes are mostly chemical in nature. Comparing that of untreated fabrics to treated fabrics, a Increase in water absorption capacity was observed for air-treated and N2-treated fabrics, when these fabrics were used immediately after plasma exposure.

A smartphone microscopic method for rapid screening of cloth facemask fabrics during pandemics.

BackgroundIn pandemics, because of increased demand and subsequent shortage of commercial facemasks, people need to use cloth facemasks, although such masks are reported to provide reduced protection. These masks can be prepared in local levels from different fabric materials. In developing countries, cloth masks are preferable because of low cost and added advantages of reusability. The filtering performance of a cloth facemask depends on the facial fit and on the material properties of fabrics such as porosity, yarn spacing or packing, and pore size. In resource limited settings, an affordable and easy to implement method that can assess the surface properties of cloth facemask fabrics would be important.MethodsIn this work, we developed a smartphone microscopic method for rapid screening of fabric quality. We measured the field of view of the microscope and as a proof of concept, we implemented the method to examine surfaces of sixteen locally available cloth mask fabrics.ResultsOut of the 16 masks examined, we found very diverse yarn packing and pore morphology (pore size and shape) in the fabrics. The pore size ranged from ~80 to 720 μm; much larger than respiratory droplet and bio-aerosol. This observation partly explains why such cloth facemasks provide reduced protection to the user during pandemics. The performance of a cloth facemask partly depends on the material properties of fabric such as yarn packing, pore size, porosity. Therefore, the surface properties of fabrics obtained from the smartphone method can be used to get preliminary idea on the facemask quality. We believe that the method can be an affordable and rapid method for selection of better fabrics for cloth facemask during pandemics.

Development of a superhydrophobic cellulose fabric via enzyme treatment and surface hydrophobization

Enzymatic hydrolysis is a common finishing method for cellulosic materials, to improve fabric softness, appearance, and surface properties. However, its potential to trigger superhydrophobicity has not been studied in depth. In this study, a superhydrophobic cellulose fabric was fabricated in two steps. Micro-/nano-hierarchical roughness on the fabric surface was achieved by cellulase from Aspergillus niger, through enzymatic hydrolysis. Subsequently, hydrophobization was carried out by a dip coating method, using polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS). Enzyme concentration and treatment temperature were varied to find the values that provided the greatest superhydrophobicity. As enzyme concentration and temperature increased, the nano-scale roughness increased, along with weight reduction. The degree of crystallinity and reduction in tensile strength were also increased with weight loss via enzyme hydrolysis. As air pockets were formed by micro-/nano-structures on the fiber surface, the water contact angle increased and the shedding angle tended to decrease. The sample treated with 5 g/l enzyme at 60 ℃ for 60 min and coated with PDMS 1 wt.% coating solution had the greatest superhydrophobicity, with a water contact angle of 162° and a shedding angle of 7.0°. The weight loss and reduction in tensile strength of the developed superhydrophobic fabrics were 2.9% and 39.0%, respectively. This approach reduces the necessity for an additional process to introduce nano-scale roughness, and it has the potential to produce superhydrophobic cellulosic biomass for outdoor clothing.

Improvement of the adhesion of conductive poly(m-toluidine) onto chemically reduced-wool fabrics.

Wool has disulphide bonds containing-hydrophobic external keratin layers, which act as a barrier for the modification through coating with hydrophilic materials. For that reason, in this work, to ensure a dense and homogenous conductive polymer coating onto the wool, the fabrics were subjected to the reduction process in the aqueous alkaline medium containing agents that can attack these disulphide bonds. Then, one of the polyaniline derivatives, poly(mtoluidine) (PMT), was coated onto wool by in situ polymerization of m-toluidine sulphate using ammonium persulfate (APS) as an oxidant. The effects of conditions, such as the composition of reduction-bath and types of dopants were investigated, on the mass increase (%) and surface resistivity of the composite. The reduction pretreatment of wool with sodium hydrosulphide significantly improved the coating density, conductivity, and colour shade of PMT on the surface, compared to an untreated one. The coating stability of PMT/wool composite was examined by rubbing test and detergent washing, through surface resistivity measurements. The changes in structural and surface properties of wool fabrics were determined with ATR-FTIR, contact angle, and optical microscopic techniques, respectively. The performance of PMT/wool composite was also examined in the electromagnetic shielding effectiveness (EMSE) measurements within 30 MHz-3 GHz.

The Effect of Plasma Electron Temperature on the Surface Properties of Super-Hydrophobic Cotton Fabrics

The existing coating systems used for the preparation of super-hydrophobic surfaces are facing new challenges because the use of organic solvents and long-carbon-chain organic fluorine monomers is banned. In this article, the authors have proven that by using inductively coupled plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) with argon (Ar), which is a completely dry process, lauryl methacrylate (LMA) can produce a stable super-hydrophobic coating effect. The effect of electron temperature on the super-hydrophobicity of cotton fabrics is investigated in terms of water repellency, chemical composition, and surface morphology. It is found that the improvement in the hydrophobicity of cotton fabric is attributed to the deposition of alkyl and ester groups, and the formation of a micro–nano-structure on the surface of the fabric after plasma treatment. The electron temperature plays an important role in achieving the super-hydrophobicity of cotton fabrics. The plasma-enhanced coating may offer a safe and dry super-hydrophobic technique with diverse applications.

HAIRINESS AS A SURFACE PROPERTY OF TEXTILE

Determine the essence of the concept of «surface properties of textiles» and justify the degree of influence of the phenomenon of hairiness of textile materials on the surface properties of textile products. The analytical method is used in this work. The study contains a systematic analysis of scientific publications, the terminology of international standards and modern developments in the field of determining the surface properties of tissues. Based on the analysis of scientific research, it was found that various authors refer to the surface properties of textile materials a different set of surface effects, and their analysis through the indicators of tissue hairiness makes this issue relevant. The definition of the general term «surface» has shown that in various branches of science it is interpreted differently depending on the subject and field of study. Textile material science considers the term «supporting surface of the fabric», which needs to be clarified. Analysis of the fibrous structure of the fabric showed a complex structural organization of its surface, which is represented by the relief and various zones of the pile, formed from individual fibers having different locations on the surface of the fabric. As a result, the following terms are formulated: “fabric surface” and “surface properties of fabrics”. A list of surface properties of fabrics has been compiled, where hairiness is presented as an equivalent independent characteristic that simultaneously affects the manifestation of other surface effects. For the first time, the terms «fabric surface» and «surface properties of fabrics» are defined and justified. The nomenclature of the surface properties of fabrics is determined, based on the analysis of which it is proved that hairiness is the main characteristic of the fabric surface. The proposed terms for determining the surface of fabrics harmonize the terminology of textile materials science with other branches of science. The study of the effect of hairiness on surface properties opens up new possibilities for expanding the assortment of fabrics and is a promising area in the development of expert methods for assessing the quality of textiles.

Improvement of bacterial cellulose nonwoven fabrics by physical entrapment of lauryl gallate oligomers

The present study aimed to improve the properties of bacterial cellulose nonwoven fabrics by physical entrapment of lauryl gallate oligomers. The lauryl gallate oligomerization process was conducted by laccase-mediated oligomerization. Lauryl gallate was chemically confirmed by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization with time-of-flight analyses. The oligomerization conditions were controlled considering the surface properties (water contact angle, surface energy, and water absorption time) of bacterial cellulose nonwoven fabrics. The controlled oligomerization conditions were 160 U/mL of laccase and 20 mM lauryl gallate. After bacterial cellulose was treated by the physical entrapment of lauryl gallate oligomers, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis showed that the N1 atomic composition (%) of bacterial cellulose increased from 0.78% to 4.32%. This indicates that the lauryl gallate oligomer molecules were introduced into the bacterial cellulose nanofiber structure. In addition, the water contact angle was measured after washing the bacterial cellulose nonwoven fabric treated by the physical entrapment of lauryl gallate oligomers for 180 minutes, and it was found to maintain a water contact angle of 88°. The durability of bacterial cellulose nonwoven fabric treated by the physical entrapment of lauryl gallate oligomers was confirmed by measuring the tensile strength after wetting and dimensional stability. As a result, the tensile strength after wetting was about five times higher and the dimensional stability was three times higher than that of untreated bacterial cellulose nonwoven fabric.
