Study on Talent Cultivation Management Model of Universities Based on Fuzzy Neural Network Algorithm

The Talent Cultivation Management Model for Universities represents a strategic framework designed to optimize the development and oversight of academic programs. This model focuses on identifying, nurturing, and assessing talents within the university ecosystem. It incorporates innovative methodologies to align educational offerings with individual needs and career goals. This study presents an innovative approach to developing a talent cultivation management model for universities, leveraging the integration of the Fuzzy Neural Network Algorithm with the proposed Optimized Spider Monkey Fuzzy Neural Network (OSMF-NN). Recognizing the critical importance of talent development in higher education, this research seeks to enhance the efficacy and adaptability of existing management models. The OSMF-NN algorithm, inspired by the optimization capabilities of spider monkey behavior, enhances the traditional fuzzy neural network algorithm, enabling more precise and efficient talent management. By harnessing the synergies between fuzzy logic and neural networks, the proposed model offers a robust framework for identifying, nurturing, and evaluating talents within the university ecosystem. Through comprehensive experimentation and validation, this study demonstrates the effectiveness of the OSMF-NN algorithm in optimizing talent cultivation strategies, promoting personalized learning experiences, and fostering student success in higher education institutions.

Exploring the factors influencing academic learning performance using online learning systems

-Online learning has become vital and fundamental for learning success in higher education institutions to cope with various learning methodologies or crises such as COVID-19. Therefore, this study investigates factors influencing the academic learning performance among diploma and bachelor's degree students who utilize online e-learning systems in Jordan. Using a conceptual model developed from an extensive previous literature review, the study used a quantitative research methodology to collect data via survey questionnaires. Using PLS-SEM, the empirical analysis of 846 questionnaires collected from Jordanian students demonstrates that task-technology fit and students' satisfaction positively influence learning performance and contribute significantly to student academic success using online learning systems. While the quality of system, service, and information are critical determinants of task-technology fit, student interaction, and instructor interaction are critical determinants of student satisfaction. The study highlights the importance of user-friendly interfaces, effective communication channels, collaboration, and positive learning environments. The findings provide practical insights for universities, online learning system designers, administrators, and instructors to enhance student-learning outcomes. Additionally, system providers can use these findings to address essential successful tools and features needed to create effective and efficient online learning environments. This study highlights practical implications that support higher education institutions' efforts to enhance their online e-learning systems quality and improve student-learning outcomes while helping system providers address essential successful tools and features needed.

A strategy to enhance the quality of public administration services at better Tadulako University

The study aims to explore strategies to enhance public administration capacity at Tadulako University, using a qualitative approach through case studies. This research mainly focuses on understanding how the applied strategies can improve administrative processes and provide better services to students and staff. Researchers collect data by conducting in-depth interviews, live observations, and document analysis with administrative staff, students, and faculty. Researchers conduct thematic analysis to identify key themes and comprehend the effectiveness and impact of implemented strategies. Research results show that integrating information technology, staff training, and revising bureaucratic processes are critical factors in improving the efficiency and quality of administrative services. Data triangulation reinforces these findings, ensuring the validity and reliability of the results. The research provides insights into best organizational practices and offers valuable recommendations for other higher education institutions facing similar challenges. The Influence of Graduates' Competence from Universitas Darussalam Gontor on the Relevance Level between Fields of Study and Employment

The success of higher education institutions is often measured by their competitiveness and the quality of their graduates in the job market. The concept of competitiveness, particularly in terms of educational relevance, is a fundamental consideration outlined in Law No. 12 related to higher education. One of the mechanisms for assessing this educational relevance involves conducting tracer studies among graduates. The objective of this research is to examine the individual (partial) and combined (simultaneous) effects of Grade Point Average (GPA) and Academic Supporting Credit for Students (AKPAM) on the alignment between graduates' fields of study and their subsequent employment. This study focuses on alumni from Darussalam Gontor University in the year 2019. The research is conducted through a survey-based approach, and the data collected through tracer study questionnaires. The findings indicate that while GPA exhibits an insignificant influence on the degree of alignment between fields of study and employment, AKPAM significantly affects this alignment. Moreover, when considered together, both GPA and AKPAM exert a significant influence on the alignment between graduates' fields of study and their employment choices

Brand Reputation Management in a Chinese Higher Educational Institution

Brand reputation management is of increasing importance in the highly competitive landscape of higher education institutions, particularly in the context of Chinese culture. This study explores the challenges and strategies related to managing brand reputation in a Chinese higher educational institution. It highlights the significance of brand reputation in attracting students, faculty, and external support, making it a critical aspect for these institutions. Drawing on the Reputation Quotient Model, this research examines reputation in terms of innovation, workplace culture, social responsibility, financial performance, emotional appeal, and products and services. It also explores the interplay between brand association, brand identity, and the overall quality of academic services and how these factors affect the perception of the institution. The study's findings reveal that the perceived quality, brand association, and brand identity play pivotal roles in shaping the brand reputation management of Chinese higher education institutions. The research provides valuable insights for institutions to enhance their brand management strategies, thus attracting and retaining high-quality faculty and students while fostering engagement with stakeholders and alumni. Additionally, it emphasizes the need for institutions to balance global and local perspectives to maintain brand relevance and reputation in the competitive higher education market. Ultimately, the study underscores the critical role brand reputation plays in the success of higher education institutions in China.

The Effects of Demographic Factors on Professional Career Success: An Investigation of Higher Education Staff in South Africa

Professional career success has received great attention in the organisational management literature since the 1980s as organisations strive to attract and retain top talent, understanding the factors that contribute to career success has become imperative. Since it is an important topic for individuals, organisations and researchers, there have been efforts to comprehend the organisational elements and people-related factors that contribute to employees' professional career success. Located within the career development theory, this study aims to understand the sociodemographic aspects of academics that contribute to favourable perceptions of professional career success. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire on 253 male and female academics and the data were analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics, namely the Mann-Whitney and Kruskal-Wallis tests. The results of the empirical survey revealed that there were practical significant differences among academics concerning their job classification, professional experience, and their perceptions of their career as successful. Nonetheless, the findings reported no statistically significant differences among gender and age of academics and their perception of successful professional careers. Additionally, the results showed that job classification and professional experience of academics were significant predictors of professional career success since individuals with higher job classifications often have more autonomy and decision-making power within their organisations and departments. Individuals with more professional experience may have a better understanding of their industry and are required to comply with its requirements. These findings may enrich career success theories and offer developmental recommendations to support academics’ professional career success in higher education institutions in South Africa.

Cognizance of Development of Human Capital and Success of Higher Education Institutions

The study's overarching goal was to investigate the relationship between HEIs' success and their attention to cultivating their human capital. Any college or institution worth its salt will recognize that its students are its most valuable asset and treat them as such. This survey-based study was both descriptive and inferential in character. A total of 313 male and female students were used to compile the data. In order to gauge students' awareness of human capital development and HEI performance, the researcher gathered data from a variety of University of Okara departments. After reviewing the available literature, we created the research scale. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used to examine the data. Human capital development was found to significantly impact HEIs' viability. The findings highlighted the need for improved human capital development practices inside academic institutions. It is suggested that HEIs use effective Human Capital Development Practices to improve the quality of their programs and align with international benchmarks.

Academic Leadership in Higher Education

Purpose: The effectiveness of our higher education system depends on effective and vibrant teachers with knowledge of Academics, Assessment and evaluation, Pedagogy, Research Culture, and Innovation in teaching & learning. The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 specifies that the “most important factor in the success of higher education institutions is the quality and engagement of its faculty. The study focuses on the understanding of NEP and OBE amongst faculty members and academic leaders, the factors affecting teaching and learning in higher education, and the role of academic leadership in implementing outcome-based education in higher education. Approach: The study is based on the data collected from 53 academic leaders from 53 different B- schools. To have better results the study has collected data from different regions in India, covering East, West, North, and South. Data is collected through a data triangulation approach. For this purpose, structured questionnaires were used, telephonic interviews of the sample and Focus Group Discussions with members of the senior cadre were conducted. The study employed different methods of data collection, preliminary interviews, and focus group discussions to yield the parameters on which a structured questionnaire was prepared. After deciding on the constructs of the scale, indicator items were prepared. Statistical analysis is done to assess the awareness and application of NEP 2020 in Management Education. Results: The focus group discussion and primary interview with the academic leader helped to design the application of Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs to Employee Engagement in Higher Education. The faculty need to know the level of their performance and areas in which they need improvement. Performance improvement helps the organization to meet its goals and objectives. Performance counselling is a very important activity that helps employees to know themselves better. It has been observed that employee engagement increases with performance counselling. Hence the desired result of NEP implementation will be better with faculty training and counselling. QR- based Advance Attendance System Using 2-Step Authentication

bstract: Student participation in the classroom has a direct impact on their academic success in higher education institutions. The majority of student attendance registration is still done in the traditional manner, which is cumbersome and timeconsuming, especially for courses with a significant number of students.The majority of institutions have historically handled attendance control by hand. The goal of this paper is to encourage the potential use of the Quick Response (QR) code as a future attendance management system, to track and record student attendance in lectures and exercises for all pertinent courses, in order to resolve the manual attendance issues. We proposed and implemented a smart attendance system to do this.

THE EDUCATIONAL INFORMATION ENVIRONMENT AS A CONDITION FOR THE SUCCESS OF A LINGUISTIC PERSONALITY FORMATION

The article reveals the features of the modern educational information environment for the success of linguistic personality formation.
 The authors of the article prove the importance of integrating the educational and information environment into the pedagogical process, where all component processes are exposed to personality formation, influence the professional formation of the future specialist and play a significant role in the formation of linguistic personality. The purpose of the article is the theoretical substantiation and empirical study of the level of the educational and information environment influence on language personality formation success in higher education institutions. The research tasks are focused on the scientific substantiation of the concepts of "educational and information environment" and "linguistic personality"; identification of factors in the formation of linguistic identity success; analysis and interpretation of research results regarding the influence of the educational and information environment on the linguistic personality formation. The results of the study prove that the educational and information environment is a combination of the latest information technologies and modern pedagogical developments, which should lead to the maximum effect of a sufficient educational process. Various roles of the educational and information environment in the educational process are considered. Where the specified environment can be both a means of supporting the educational process and a means of implementing blended learning. In our study, the educational and informational environment is considered in the paradigm of the distance learning organization. The classification of the levels of the information and educational space and the requirements for distance learning is revealed. The research proposes and justifies the choice of Internet technologies to create a new level of education and information environment. Research also proved the establishment of contact between all participants of the educational process; sample settings are necessary when the students' load of educational material is determined. In the course of questionnaires and surveys of participants in the educational and pedagogical process of technical universities, the peculiarities of the organization of professional training of future specialists in the conditions of distance learning, their influence on the success of language personality formation, and motivation to study were established. Conclusions. Summarizing the results of the study on the influence of the educational and information environment on linguistic personality formation, the authors substantiate the need for learning a foreign language. On the basis of productive educational activities, the development of a foreign language is a component of forming a linguistic personality. It is noted that the use of Internet resources creates conditions for the implementation of an individual and differentiated approach to foreign language learning as well as forms the ability to work, analyse and evaluate information. The article reveals the advantages of implementing an educational and information environment during distance learning of foreign languages and emphasizes that despite all the problems of introducing the specified form of education into the educational process, the educational and information environment helped both teachers and students to discover new opportunities, to get a new positive experience of working with Internet platforms and digital tools, and also contributed to the success of linguistic personality formation

Improving SVM Classification Performance on Unbalanced Student Graduation Time Data Using SMOTE

Student graduation accuracy is one of the indicators of the success of higher education institutions in carrying out the teaching and learning process and as a component of higher education accreditation. So it is not surprising that building a system that can predict or classify students graduating on time or not on time is necessary for universities to monitor the exact number of students graduating on time using educational technology. Unfortunately, educational technology or machine learning with data mining approaches is less accurate in classifying classes with unbalanced data. Therefore, this research purpose is to build a machine learning system that can improve classification performance on unbalanced class data between students who graduate on time and graduate late. This study applies the Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique (SMOTE) method to improve the classifying performance of the Support Vector Machine (SVM) data mining method. The results of the study concluded that using the SMOTE method increased the accuracy, precision, and sensitivity of the SVM method in classifying class data of unbalanced student graduation times. The SVM performance score rises by 3% for classification accuracy, 8% for classification precision, and 25% for classification sensitivity.

Influence of Student Research Mentoring on Research Publications Output During COVID-19 at One Higher Education Institution in Eastern Cape Province, South Africa

The study explored the influence of research mentoring on research publications output during COVID-19 in a selected Higher Education Institution (HEI) of the Eastern Cape Province as the incessant poor publications from the dissertations and theses of postgraduates upon completion of their studies prompted the researchers to want to understand the nature of the mentorship experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study was situated within an interpretivist paradigm which aided in the interpretation of the facts and adopted a case study design within a qualitative research approach. The participants for the study comprised eight research supervisors, and eight master’s and doctoral students purposefully selected as information-rich participants. Semi-structured interviews were utilised to collect data. Data collected were analysed thematically. Findings of the study revealed that there was a dearth of research mentoring by research supervisors that adversely affected research publication output in the rural HEI, especially during the COVID-19 era. Additionally, supervisors struggled with online supervision, which strained the relationship between supervisors and their students. Furthermore, the study revealed that both supervisors and students lacked skills and knowledge of paper writing. The study recommends that there should be a call for student mentoring and development in research seminars, article writing seminars, and writing for publication workshops to develop and promote academic success in higher education institutions. It is anticipated that a strengthened system of mentoring and development, which is cognizant of COVID-19, will help novice writers comprehend articles published through the holistic guidance of their mentors rather than mentors leaving them to sink or swim. The magic ingredient: masters students’ interest in their dissertation topics

ABSTRACT The concept of acknowledging students’ interests – both what they may be interested in and what is in their interest – is gaining increasing purchase in the new competitive economy of higher education. In addition to the obvious benefits of boosting student success in higher education institutions (HEIs), there are well-established educational advantages of foregrounding students’ interests. The philosophical and psychological literature abounds with justificatory explanations of why interest is so crucial to learning of all kinds. Apart from the clear motivational benefits, organising learning around interests helps educators to realise the goal of Bildung, the education of the whole person. However, notwithstanding the obvious value of utilising interest in teaching and learning, there is a dearth of relevant research on the topic of relevance to HEIs. This research aims to help redress the balance by investigating how the interests of learners may be utilised effectively in the guidance and supervision of postgraduate students undertaking masters’ dissertations in education.

Determinants of Student Loyalty in Higher Education: A Structural Equation Approach for the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Romania.

In today’s world, the higher education system represents a means of developing the national and global economy by providing individual and collective benefits. Student loyalty is a critical measure in the success of higher education institutions that aim at retaining students until graduation and then attracting them back. As they fuel the knowledge economy, universities create a more educated labor market, providing employment and higher salaries. Having this major significance, it is vital to study the key determinants that persuade stakeholders to form long-term relationships with universities, revealing high loyalty. Aiming to stay competitive and survive the drastic, ongoing changes, successful universities thrive on building loyalty among all stakeholder groups, especially students. Despite the importance of the higher education institutions (HEIs), little research has been conducted on student loyalty. Therefore, the main objectives of this study are to empirically examine the key factors influencing student loyalty by testing two models, namely perceived quality, brand associations, satisfaction, trust, and commitment, and to test the relationships among them. To analyze the data, a confirmatory factor analysis was applied where it explored the associations between items and constructs and, then, utilized a structural equation model (SEM) to investigate the relationships existing between constructs with the application of the STATA program. A structured questionnaire comprising of 66 questions was developed, using a five Likert scale. A total of 682 students from the Bucharest University of Economic Studies filled in the questionnaire. In both cases, the findings reveal that commitment has the most significant direct impact on loyalty. The other factors have an indirect effect, satisfaction having the most significant total effect, followed by trust and commitment. Therefore, universities must focus on improving service quality to develop positive brand associations, student satisfaction, trust, and commitment in developing student loyalty.

Management of Performance in Higher Education Institutions: The Application of the Balanced Scorecard (BSC)

Abstract Universities play a crucial role in the development of any nation. The success of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) is the bedrock of the growth in human capacity required to support the growth of an economy. However, HEIs have been criticized for not playing their rightful role in national development. This has been partly attributed to not being able to manage their performance in view of the dynamic and turbulent environment they are operating in. Most HEIs have been caught up in the “business as usual” situation preferring doing things in the traditional ways as opposed to changing with the times. As a result their survival has been at risk especially from those HEIs who have adopted the “business un-usual” mentality. It is as a result of the challenges facing Kenyan HEIs that this paper proposes an adoption of the Balanced Scorecard as a management tool in HEIs. This paper provides a review of literature on the HEI environment globally and in Kenya, highlighting the challenges faced by Kenyan HEIs and proposes the use of the BSC to address the same. The BSC is a tool that helps mainstream the vision and mission of HEIs in their activities thus making the HEIs become strategy focused organizations. The BSC is a strategic planning and management system used to align business activities to the vision and strategy of the organization and to monitor organization performance against strategic goals. Finally, a sample BSC for HEIs in Kenya is proposed. It is felt that if HEIs focused on the issues proposed and measured their performance on the issues identified, their performance will be improved tremendously.

Purpose: Social media is among the most important digital platforms that bring individuals and institutions together. In the digital age, universities use social media to share news and updates about the institution, research, teaching, and social activities. Perhaps, one of the most critical indicators of success in the university account management process in social media might be the number of followers. Hence, this study examined whether there is a relationship between universities’ Facebook official account follower counts and universities’ position in the Webometrics university success ranking scale, which is an indicator of universities' institutional success. Method: The present study focused on 161 universities located in Turkey. The official Facebook accounts of these institutions and ranking success position in Webometrics were examined by using two different secondary data sets from 2017. Findings: The assumed relationships were tested through correlation analyses by using SPSS 20 statistical software. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between universities’ follower counts on Facebook pages and Webometrics ranking scores. Originality: This study would be pioneering research that can contribute to the literature on the relationship between the success of higher education institutions in Webometric ranking and the popularity of official accounts in a social media channel. Considering the results of this research, it is expected that the top managers of higher education institutions and universities will contribute to institutional value management.

Exploring Leadership Dilemma for Faculty: A Case of Higher Education institutions in Pakistan

Effective leadership in academia is crucial as well as an important component for the success of higher education institutions and to produce graduates of the twenty-first century. However, the complexity of educational reforms, multiple goals, and traditional norms stimulate vague and contested leadership amongst faculty members. The paper reveals the significance of leadership for higher education institutions and explore how leadership abilities can be indoctrinate at the faculty level. A qualitative study was designed by arranging a series of focus group discussions to collect the data. By conducting thematic analysis; few themes emerged which enlightens the significance of academic leadership. In higher education institutions faculty members directly promote the institutional teaching mission, advance learning, and research by representing themselves as core human resources of higher education institutions. Lastly, the paper presents the art of practicing situational leadership in educational reforms considering different paradigms of leadership.

Pengembangan Instrumen Tracer Study Berbasis Cluster Sebagai Kontrol Mutu Lulusan Perguruan Tinggi

<p class="abstrak"><em>The purpose of this research is to develop a cluster-based tracer study instrument that can be used to measure the absorption rate of graduates based on competency. This type of research is development. This study uses the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluation) i. The product appraisal instrument uses a quality assessment sheet involving material experts and an evaluation sheet which is used to determine the responses of stakeholders and graduates regarding the use of the product being developed. The type of data obtained is data about the process of developing a cluster-based tracer study instrument from the input of experts and graduates. The data analysis of this research used process data analysis and product quality data analysis. The results of the study were based on a feasibility test based on the material validator, assessment, and language validator which were assigned to the graduate assessment instrument with the criteria of "very suitable". The results of field trials showed the feasibility of the instrument as a tool for evaluating graduates was 86.5% so that it could be used as an alternative in tracing studies. These results are used as the basis for determining the success of higher education institutions in producing quality graduates</em></p>

Search for Reserves in the Grip of the “Imputed”: Paradoxes of Our Education Strategy

The dominant orientation of the domestic strategy of higher education (standards, competencies) towards the current demands of the labor market slows down and constrains the development processes at universities. The ability and readiness to respond to the challenges of the future is steadily becoming a real basis for the success of higher education institutions in conditions of modern technological and socio-economic changes. Time and situation require taking into account in university strategies not only the demands of the labor market, but also the features of the future and trends in knowledge development. And this, in turn, dictates the need to liberalize the existing education strategy, as well as to “synchronize” the development of the university both with trends and prospects for the development of technologies and infrastructures, and the historical and epistemological patterns of knowledge development, its functions, ways of organization and forms of life.
