Previous in vivo studies from this laboratory have correlated these effects with the more rapid multiplication of the normal populations vis-à-vis the coexistent autogenous tumor cells (New Eng J Med279:248, 1968; National Cancer Institute Monograph No. 30, p. 209, 1969).
