Development of a Lagrange Mechanics E-Module Based on a Flipbook Pendulum Spring System

This research is a type of Research and Development (R D) research that uses the 4D development model, namely Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate. This research produces a Lagrange Mechanics E-Module based on a flipbook pendulum spring system. The aim of this research is to produce a Lagrange Mechanics E-Module that is suitable for use as a learning medium for Analytical Mechanics. The data collection instrument used in this research is a questionnaire as a validation assessment for material experts and students, data analysis uses percentages with predetermined categories. The research sample was 14 Physics Education students. The validation results by material experts were 73% in the feasible category. The student response results were 85% in the very appropriate category. From these results, the Lagrange Mechanics E-Module is suitable for use with revisions as an alternative source of learning.

Importance of physical fitness in physical literacy and life satisfaction of Physical Education students

In recent years, research on physical literacy has experienced remarkable growth, identifying the factors in this multidimensional concept that may play a role in the acquisition of healthy habits. In addition, multiple studies have identified significant correlations between physical literacy and quality of life, although they did not find a reason for this relationship. One of the factors that could explain this behavior is physical fitness. Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the role of physical fitness and its components in the relationship between physical literacy and life satisfaction. For this purpose, the Mann-Whitney U test was used to analyze the differences in the scores of the questionnaires applied, Spearman's rho, to determine the correlations between physical literacy and life satisfaction, using Hedges' g for the interpretation of the effect size. In addition, a mediation analysis was conducted to understand how physical fitness affects the relationship between literacy and life satisfaction. A moderation analysis was then applied to explore whether variables related to physical fitness modified the correlation and added to the prediction model. Finally, the reliability and validity of the questionnaires were tested using Cronbach's Alpha and McDonald's omega coefficient. The results showed that physical fitness, especially cardiorespiratory fitness, was a moderator and mediator in this relationship, demonstrating that increasing cardiorespiratory fitness enhances the effect of physical literacy on improving life satisfaction among high school students.

‘I have normalised being treated differently’. Analysis of the experiences of foreign students in Physical Education

ABSTRACT Purpose The aim of the study is to analyse the experiences of 7 students (4 girls and 3 boys) from different continents (Africa, Asia and South America) in Physical Education, in order to know to what extent, they have perceived racism. Their guardians also participated. All the students have experienced their compulsory schooling in Spain. Methods The research is framed under the theory of culturally relevant pedagogy. A qualitative approach is used in which three categories of analysis are established: (a) Perception of social discrimination; (b) Effect on self-esteem and emotional implications; (c) Learning limitations in Physical Education. Interviews with students and focus groups with guardians, where the data collection techniques are/were used. Findings & conclusions The results show how students have suffered covert racism in the classroom, specifically in Physical Education, observed in a diversity of behaviours and actions linked to the colour of their skin, their accent, their physical features and even their body odour. This, despite their subliminal acceptance of it, has generated frustration, powerlessness and diminished self-esteem, as well as a bad relationship with the subject. Guardians recognize the experience of these forms of discrimination and emphasize that racism still exists in society and in schools, and that there is a lack of mechanisms and procedures to eradicate it. It is essential to continue researching how to approach a teaching of Physical Education that moves away from any type of discrimination, but this article is already a first step in giving a voice to those who suffer from it.

Study on Physical Fitness Index BMI and VO<sub>2</sub> Max of Physical Education Students

Physical activity is human body movement of any type, while physical education programs use physical activity to teach children how to improve and sustain an active lifestyle. One of the most crucial factors to think about when evaluating a subject's cardiorespiratory efficiency is their Physical Fitness Index (PFI). The risks involved in implementing BMI for adults also affect kids and teenagers. The term "maximal oxygen consumption capacity" (VO<sub>2</sub>max) refers to the body's capacity to consume oxygen in the skeletal muscle mitochondria at a maximum rate during vigorous full-body exercise. To investigate correlation body mass index, physical fitness index and maximal oxygen capacity (VO<sub>2</sub>max) among physical education students. The investigator was selected 36 BPED students (Male: 20 & Female: 16) from University of Kalyani, Kalyani, Nadia. The age range of subject from 19 to 25 years. To conduct this study measured body mass index though Quetelet index, physical fitness index through Harvard step test and maximal oxygen capacity (VO<sub>2</sub>max) through Queens College Step test were considered. Conclusion of this present study were no significant relationship between physical fitness index and body mass index of male, female students and students as a whole. Significantly relationship between VO<sub>2</sub> max and body mass index for female students but in case of male and student as a whole found no relationship. Positive relationship between physical fitness index and VO<sub>2</sub> max for male students and student as a whole but in case of female found no relationship.

Comparison of the Effect of Using Virtual Laboratory Based on PhET Simulation and Real Laboratory in Improving Mastery of Electronic Concepts of Physics Education Students

This study aimed to compare the mastery of electronic concepts among physics education students using a constructivist virtual laboratory (PhET Simulation) and a real constructivist laboratory. The importance of this research lies in the potential of virtual laboratories as an alternative to physical ones, especially when resources are limited. The research employed a quasi-experimental design with a matching-only posttest-only control group. The sample consisted of 68 physics education students from UIN Alauddin Makassar, divided into two groups: one using PhET Simulation (34 students) and the other using real laboratories (34 students). Data were collected through multiple-choice tests designed to measure concept mastery, analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential tests such as t-tests. The results showed no significant difference in concept mastery between students using PhET Simulation and those using real laboratories (t =-0.167, p= 0.868). Both methods were equally effective in enhancing students’ understanding of electronics. The novelty of this study lies in directly comparing the two laboratory approaches within a constructivist framework. This finding suggests that virtual laboratories can serve as a viable alternative to real laboratories in supporting concept mastery, offering flexibility and resource efficiency. The implications of the study are particularly relevant for educational institutions with limited access to physical laboratories, as PhET Simulation provides a cost-effective solution without compromising learning outcomes.

Evaluation of Athlete Physical Fitness Based on Deep Learning

In order to promote deep learning in physical education for students, guided by the concept of deep learning, the author integrates the concept of deep learning into flipped classrooms. The author proposes a flipped classroom design and classroom implementation process for promoting deep learning, and conducts a semester long experimental research based on basketball courses, continuously optimizing the design during this period.Through the analysis of various parameters appearing in the operation, the test results are satisfactory. The study found that students in three classes were physically trained by using the classroom teaching method of ”deep learning”. The classroom teaching mode based on deep learning achieved the best teaching results in the first stage. One habit that inspires real emotion in children is their pace: running in different directions. Classroom teaching based on deep learning can make students understand the importance of cross-movement. Thus, after experiment, there was no significant difference between the flipped classes and the traditional class teaching method in the cross run compared to before experiment. The effectiveness of flipped classroom design for promoting deep learning has been verified, achieving a promoting effect on students’ deep learning. The flipped classroom designed by this research institute can effectively promote learners to achieve deep learning, specifically manifested as: The physical fitness level of students has improved, the level of cognitive structure has improved, and students are more able to learn independently. The goal of deep learning for students has been achieved.

Acehnese Ethnoscience as an Interdisciplinary Approach in Physics Education: Innovating in the Era of Merdeka Belajar

Various efforts have been made to improve students’ understanding of basic physics concepts, but their mindset in constructing knowledge remains problematic. The learning process has yet to engage long-term memory, preventing meaningful analysis-level understanding. This research aimed to activate students’ thinking patterns based on ethnoscience through learning tools such as modules, semester learning plans (RPS), and student worksheets (LKM) that are valid, practical, and efficient. The research used the R&D method with the ADDIE approach, involving 2 expert validators and all Physics Education students at FKIP USK enrolled in basic physics courses in 2022. The results indicated that the ethnoscience-based basic physics learning tools of the Acehnese community, which include modules, RPS, and LKM, effectively supported Merdeka Belajar and have been validated for their validity, practicality, and efficiency. Students were highly motivated and impressed by the concept of measurement in physics, which has long been practiced by the Acehnese community, such as in paying zakat fitrah during Ramadan. The scientifically understood volume-measuring tools used by students were not significantly different from the ethnoscience tools used by the Acehnese community. Ethnoscience facilitates meaningful learning by analyzing context, content, and literacy.

The Impact of the Guidance Technique of Stopping Negative Thinking on reducing Psychological Reluctance in Swimming Lessons among Female Students of Physical Education and Sports Science

The significance of the current research lies in studying the impact of the Guidance Technique (Stopping Negative Thinking) to reduce psychological reluctance in swimming lessons among female students of Physical Education and Sports Sciences highlighting the concept of psychological reluctance and how to confront it in the swimming lessons. The research provides a comprehensive and integrated theoretical framework that benefits the guiding process, contributing to the development of guiding programs that help reduce or eliminate psychological reluctance. Additionally, this research offers a psychological reluctance scale, aiding in the evaluation and diagnosis of students for the purpose of guiding them. The research addressed an important segment represented by female students of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, so the aim of the current research is to identify the impact of the guidance program according to the method (stopping negative thinking) to reduce psychological reluctance in the swimming lesson among female students of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, and achieving the research goal required the construction of two tools, namely: Firstly, a psychological reluctance scale in swimming lessons for female students of Physical Education and Sports Sciences. Secondly, a guiding program using the (Stopping Negative Thinking) method, consisting of 12 guiding sessions for female students of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences at the University of Baghdad, who exhibited high scores on the psychological reluctance scale in swimming lessons. To achieve this objective, the researchers employed the descriptive survey approach in developing the psychological reluctance scale and used the experimental method, with a pre-test and post-test design, for both the experimental and control groups, aligning with the research problem. The results indicated that the guiding method (Stopping Negative Thinking) had a significant effect in reducing psychological reluctance among female students of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, with a statistically significant difference compared to the control group.

EXPLORING TRENDS IN GAME-BASED PHYSICS EDUCATION: A BIBLIOMETRIC STUDY FROM 1973 TO 2023

Games are widely used to increase students' interest and participation in physics lessons. We need an in-depth analysis of the consistency of this study. This study aims to analyze research trends in the use of games in physics education using a bibliometric approach. Data were retrieved from the Scopus database using the keywords "play" and "physical education". Among the 125 articles obtained based on the search criteria, a trend analysis of the study was conducted using RStudio and VosViewer software. The analysis shows that publications on this topic have increased significantly since the early 2000s, from 1973 to 2023. Researchers from the USA and Europe dominated the publication. Nevertheless, the countries of Asia and Australia also started to contribute significantly. Intercontinental cooperation is important to provide a broader perspective. The main magazine that publishes articles on this topic is "Computer and Education". The most cited articles focus mainly on the effects of games on students' learning of physics. They identified five main keyword clusters that represent different ways of using games in physics education. Overall, this study provides an in-depth understanding of research trends and key findings related to the use of games in physics education. Further research is recommended on game design, technology integration, and implementation strategies to maximize the benefits of play to improve the quality of instruction and student physical education achievement.

Effect of a Specific Warm-up based on Oppositional Wrestling Games on The Technical Performance and Mental Health of Physical Education Students

Background and study aim. This study explored the impact of two different specific warm-up protocols (consisting of either opposition games or classical exercises) on technical-tactical performance, intrinsic motivation and stress levels in wrestling schoolchildren. Materials and methods. Sixty-three schoolchildren divided into two parallel groups (specific warm-up opposition game group: EG, n = 18, aged 12.42 ± 0.87 years; and classical specific warm-up group: CG, n = 18, aged 12.41 ± 0.78 years) who completed three 75-minute sessions over four weeks practicing different specific warm-up exercises. Data was analyzed with IBM SPSS to find the normality, mean and standard deviation. A two-factor mixed analysis of variance (ANOVA) model with repeated measures was performed to measure differences in mental health and technical-tactical performance for both group. Results. Several results emerged from this study; (i) EG who followed a specific warm-up program based on opposition games performed better in the wrestling test and were able to improve the number of successful leg attack skills, with a significant interaction compared to CG, (ii) EG obtained a better leg attack score due to their quality of execution and (iii) Compared with children in the CG group children in the EG group feel happy and motivated and their stress levels decrease. Conclusion. Wrestling teaching and training specialists should be convinced of the beneficial effects of exercises based on opposition games on students' technical and mental skills.

Spiritual Growth and Stress Management of Physical Education Sport and Health Students

The purpose of this research was to identify the spiritual growth and stress management of Physical Education, Health and Recreation students. The method of this research was qualitative. The respondents to this study were students of the Physical Education, Health and Recreation study program at the Faculty of Sports and Health Sciences, Universitas Negeri Surabaya. The sampling technique used was quota sampling, which was determined by researchers to include as many as 170 students. The data collection technique was a survey with a questionnaire filled out online. The research instrument used was the Health Promoting Lifestyle Profile II instrument, which was adjusted to the characteristics of the activities of Physical Education, Health and Recreation students in the sub-questions about spiritual growth and stress management. The research data were processed descriptively and correlatively using Pearson Correlation analysis. The results of the Pearson Correlation test showed a significance value of. 000 < 0.05, so it was stated that the two variables were correlated. Spiritual growth and stress management, with a Pearson Correlation value of.728, have a degree of relationship with a strong correlation. The significance value of.728 is positive, indicating that the relationship between spiritual growth and stress management increases with the assumption that the higher the spiritual growth, the higher the stress management. The conclusion of this study is that the spiritual growth of Physical Education, Health and Recreation students has a positive correlation with stress management. This study contributes to providing recommendations for conducting stress management activities for students.

Development of Collaborative Online Learning Model Based on Case Method in Optics Courses to Train Creative and Communication Skills

Learning models really need to be developed to meet the demands of the world of work and keep up with existing technological developments, especially in the field of physics. This study aims to produce a collaborative online learning model based on the case method in optics courses. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model. The ADDIE model has five steps that need to be carried out in a structured manner because they are systematic, namely analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. The number of participants in this research consisted of 12 physics education students from Uhamka Jakarta and 13 physics education students from Unismuh Makassar. The number of lecturers involved was 5 people, with details of 3 from Unismuh Makassar lecturers and 2 from Uhamka Jakarta lecturers, all participants, both lecturers and students, carried out activities in the collaborative LMS that had been developed previously. The based on the process of implementing a collaborative online learning program. The analysis stage is the first step which aims to match the learning outcomes with the type or form of the digital module in the Optics course chosen. The design stage is to organize and design learning activities and videos. The development stage is the stage of building digital modules by assembling them into SPADA Unismuh Makassar. The number of students in the high improvement category in creative skills is 50% and in written communication skills is 60%. This shows that the use of collaborative online learning design in optics lecture activities related to geometric optics material has moderate effectiveness in improving creative thinking and communicative skills.

Unidade temática de lutas e esportes de combate na educação física escolar do ensino fundamental no Norte do Brasil

The objective of this study was to analyze the understanding of school physical education (SPE) students and teachers about the causes and restrictions that imply the content of fights in 6th and 7th-year elementary school classes in public schools in Tucuruí-PA-Brazil. 40 6th and 7th-grade students from two public schools and two teachers participated in the research. A descriptive-cross-sectional study was carried out on the content of fights at school. The results showed that teachers teach fight content and preferably use playful activities; they believe that it should be included in early childhood education and that it does not generate violence. As for the students, although they participate in the classes, they do not seem to be attractive; many consider that the way the content is taught can generate violence. In conclusion, fighting content can positively influence student performance and learning when taught at EFE. However, the teacher must understand and face this content's difficulties and controversies to teach classes theoretically and practically with creativity because there are still gaps between what teachers do and what students expect from the content.

Academic confidence as a predictor of physical activity engagement among students enrolled in physical education classes

The purpose of this study is to determine whether academic confidence predicts university physical education students' physical activity (PA) engagement. This employed a quantitative, descriptive-correlation method with 362 respondents and utilized validated standardized instruments. Stratified random sampling was used to obtain an equal representation of participants. The Academic Confidence Questionnaire and International Physical Activity Questionnaire were the instruments employed and validated to contextualize the items using Google Forms to gather the respondents' responses. In analyzing the data gathered, mean was used to identify the levels of academic confidence and PA engagement, Pearson r was used to determine the relationship between academic confidence and PA engagement, and regression was used to determine whether academic confidence predicts PA engagement of the students. The results showed that the academic confidence level was high while the PA engagement was moderate. The results also revealed a significant relationship between academic confidence and PA engagement. Finally, the results exhibited that academic confidence significantly predicts PA Engagement among university physical education students.

The Social Motivational Orientations in Sport Scale (SMOSS): Validation for Portuguese Physical Education Students

Social goals are increasingly seen as motivational factors for youth sports participation and can strongly motivate participation and engagement, not only in structured sports contexts but also in physical education (PE), given the opportunities for social interaction with peers and the presence of skills like communication, cooperation, and competition within groups. The Social Motivational Orientations in Sport Scale (SMOSS) measures three types of social goals in sports participation: affiliation, status, and recognition. The current study aimed to adapt and validate the SMOSS for the Portuguese context, using a sample of 460 PE students (14–19 years old, 58.9% female). The confirmatory factor analysis results supported the three-factor model (affiliation, recognition, and status), after excluding two items. This adapted 13-item SMOSS demonstrated invariance across genders and showed good internal consistency across its three dimensions. It also exhibited convergent, discriminant, and concurrent validity. These findings indicate that the Portuguese version of the SMOSS is a valid and reliable instrument. It is now well suited for use by schools, teachers, and psychologists to effectively assess PE students’ social goals. Additionally, the SMOSS can assist in evaluating intervention programs aimed at enhancing students’ social motivation, thus contributing to more effective educational and developmental strategies in PE settings.

Survey and analysis of sports injuries among physical education college students

This study employs literature review, questionnaire surveys, interviews, and mathematical statistics to investigate and analyze the occurrence and causes of sports injuries among 346 college students at a physical education institution. The results indicate that there are differences in the probabilities of sports injuries among college students in different sports, and there are also variations in the probabilities of injuries to different body parts. The causes of sports injuries are multifaceted. It is recommended that in future sports training, coaches should further strengthen the protective measures taken for physical education students, and also that students' self-protection awareness and measures need to be improved.

A Systematic Review of the Use and Effect of Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and Mixed Reality in Physical Education

New technologies are tools that are present in daily life on a regular basis. In order to improve the didactic process, education must take into account these new technologies. In the field of physical education, the significance of these technologies is reflected in the existence of applications that can be carried out within the field, both for educational purposes and for physical fitness and health. This is due to the potential presented by virtual reality, augmented reality and mixed reality. The objective of this study was to examine the utilisation and impact of AR, VR and MR technologies in physical education at the compulsory stage. In order to achieve this objective, a design based on the PRISMA methodology for conducting systematic reviews was employed. The databases of WOS, Scopus, PubMed and Google Scholar were subjected to analysis. The results indicate that there has been a notable increase in research activity in this field in recent years. The analysis yielded four principal areas of focus, namely the utilisation of pedagogical methodologies, the enhancement of motor and health-related competencies, and moreover, the facilitation of optimal integration of students in physical education. The utilisation and consequences of novel technologies represent a suitable instrument for enhancing the educational experience of students enrolled in physical education programmes.

The practicality of student worksheets on the Scientific Creativity project-based Learning (SCPjBL) model to improve scientific creativity as a creative process for Physics Education students

The aim of this reseach was to describe the practicality of the SCPjBL model, based on the results of the implementation of scientific investigations to improve students' scientific creativity on Student Worksheets (LKM). The method in this study is the development of a modified model and applied in universities in 2024. The sample in this study was 90 students from two different universities. Data were collected based on the results of validation and observation of the implementation of the SCPjBL model. The assessment instrument used an implementation observation sheet carried out by two observers. The observation sheet was filled in by four observers who were divided into two observers who were tasked with observing the implementation of the SCPjBL model phase, and two others observed student activities, the results of the observations were then analyzed quantitatively. The results of the study were in the form of implementation results by obtaining an average score of 3.72 with an average validity percentage of 91% with a very practical category. The results of the practicality of the SCPjBL model and its supporting devices obtained a score of 3.56 with an average implementation percentage reaching 91%. Based on the results of the study, the SCPjBL model was declared practical and feasible for use.

Analisis Kualitas Instrumen Penilaian Berbasis Kelas untuk Mengukur Kompetensi Literasi Sains Peserta Didik SMA pada Materi Energi Terbarukan

The aim of this research is to analyze the quality of class-based instruments in the domains of knowledge, attitudes and skills to measure scientific literacy competency. This research uses a limited ADDIE research design consisting of Analyze, Design and Development stages. Data was collected using test and questionnaire methods. This research was tested on 30 Unesa Physics Education Study Program students. Theoretical validity results show that the assessment instrument prepared meets the valid category. The theoretical validity results were obtained from validation by 3 expert validators, namely 2 Unesa Physics Education lecturers and 1 MBI Amanatul Ummah Pacet Mojokerto teacher. Empirical validity was obtained from testing the assessment instrument on 30 active Unesa Physics Education students with a total of 15 questions. Then, the question item was declared valid with an rcount of 0.922 and an rtable of 0.361.

Correlation between Nutrition Education and Dietary Habits in College Athletes

This study investigates the relationship between nutrition education and dietary habits among college athletes, focusing on volleyball and football players at the Federal College of Education, Zaria. With a sample size of 52 Physical and Health Education (PHE) students, the research aims to understand how nutrition knowledge influences dietary choices across different sports. The study used a quasi-experimental design with tests given before and after the intervention. Three types of data were collected: a validated nutrition knowledge questionnaire based on Zinn et al. (2005), a food frequency questionnaire (FFQ), and a 3-day food diary. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS version 25, with Pearson's correlation coefficient examining relationships between variables and independent t-tests comparing differences between sports. The findings suggest a significant positive correlation between nutrition education and improved dietary habits (r = 0.58, p < 0.001), with volleyball players showing a stronger correlation (r = 0.63, p < 0.001) compared to football players (r = 0.52, p < 0.01). Post-intervention, both groups demonstrated improved dietary habits, with volleyball players showing greater improvements in fruit and vegetable intake and reduced consumption of processed foods. The study concludes that nutrition education has a positive impact on the dietary habits of college athletes, with the effect varying between different sports. The stronger correlation observed in volleyball players suggests that sport-specific factors may influence the effectiveness of nutrition education. Based on these findings, the study recommends curriculum planners and experts implement a continuous nutrition education curriculum as part of athletic programs. This curriculum should not only provide foundational knowledge but also include ongoing education to reinforce and expand upon initial learning.
