This study aims to develop student worksheet products based on the POE (Predict- Observe-Explain) model for student mathematical problem solving skills on quadrilateral topic that are valid, practical, and effective. This study uses the R&D method and the model used ADDIE. Validity is calculated based on the validation sheet. The average percentage obtained from material experts is 80% with a valid category, while the average percentage obtained from media experts is 81.33% with a very valid category. Practically is calculated based on response sheet. The average percentage obtained from students responses is 83.35% with a very practical category, while the average percentage obtained from teacher responses is 75.65% with a practical category, Effectiveness is calculated based on problem solving skills tests. Students who get a score that qualify the minimum completeness criteria is 75 will be considered complete. Amount of students who completed is 24 of 33 and got a completeness percentage 72.73% with an effective category so that the student worksheet can be used as teaching material.

Implementation Of Cooperative Learning Model With React Strategies To Improve Student Mathematical Problem Solving Ability

This research is an experimental study that examines problem posing in an effort to improve the ability of mathematical problem solving of students conducted at SMA Negeri 15 Medan with a sample of class XI as many as two classes taken randomly.The instrument used in this study was a student mathematical problem solving test in the form of multiple choices to determine the ability of students to solve mathematical problems. The results of the study concluded that mathematical problem solving abilities who obtained cooperative models of Jigsaw with REACT's strategy increased better than the mathematical problem solving abilities who obtained conventional learning. Student activities that follow the cooperative model of Jigsaw with REACT's strategy reflect active activities, and student responses to the cooperative model of Jigsaw with REACT's strategy are very good. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the application of the cooperative model of Jigsaw with REACT's strategy is effective in improving mathematical problem solving, and student learning activities.

PENGARUH PROBLEM BASED LEARNING BERBANTUAN POWERPOINT TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIS SISWA

The purpose of this research is to analyze the effect of the problem based learning model assisted by PowerPoint media on students mathematical problem solving ability. This type of research is a quasi experiment with a posttest-only design. The population in this study was class VIII MTs. LAB IKIP Al-Washliyah Medan. The sampling technique, namely cluster randam sampling, was obtained by two classes, namely class VIII-A with 30 students being the experimental class and class VIII-B with 31 students being the control class. The test applied to obtain data is a test of mathematical problem solving ability in the form of a description. The test is the posstest which is carried out after the treatment is given. The results of the study found that the significance value of the t-test was 0,000 < 0,05. From the results of testing the hypothesis, is obtained, namely meaning that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. The conclusion obtained is an effect of the problem based learning model assisted by PowerPoint media on the mathematical problem solving ability of students in MTs. Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematika Menggunakan Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) Pada Siswa

The purpose of this study was to determine whether the ability to solve mathematical problems using the Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) type cooperative learning model is better than conventional learning in class VIII of MTs Negeri 12 Agam in the 2021/2022 academic year. This type of research is a pre-experimental research with the research design of The Static Group Comparison Design. The study used two classes, namely the experimental class which was given treatment using a Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) cooperative learning model and the control class using conventional learning. The population in this study is class VIII MTs Negeri 12 Agam. The research samples were students of class VIII A as the experimental class and class VIII B of the control class. The research instrument used a mathematical problem solving ability test in the form of a description test. Based on the results of data analysis, the student's mathematical problem solving ability test is calculated by using the t-test, it is obtained and because , meaning that and are accepted, while using Minitab software, and . Thus, it can be concluded that students' mathematical problem solving skills using the Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) type cooperative learning model are better than conventional learning in class VIII of MTs Negeri 12 Agam in the 2021/2022 academic year.Keyword : Mathematical Problem Solving, Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) Model.

Pengembangan LKS Berbasis Etnomatematika Dengan Pendekatan Saintifik Untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematis Siswa

This study aims to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of ethnomathematical-based worksheets with a scientific approach to improve students' mathematical problem solving abilities. The research type used is research and development with the ADDIE model. The validity test was carried out by using validator assessment data, the practicality test used a student response questionnaire, and the effectiveness test used a description test which was analyzed using N-Gain. The results showed that the worksheets developed were in the "Very Valid" category with a percentage score of 87%. Practicality test of LKS are "Very Practical" with a percentage score of 93%. The results of the LKS effectiveness test show an N-Gain score of 0.57 (Medium category) in improving student’s mathematical problem solving abilities (effectiveness criteria). It can be concluded that the ethnomathematics-based worksheets with a scientific approach to improve student's mathematical problem solving skills are valid, practical, and effective.

Analisis Pengajuan Soal Matematika Siswa Ditinjau dari Gaya Kognitif Visualizer dan Verbalizer

Problem posing in this research asks students to make questions. One of the internal factors that affect the ability of students in posing problems was student cognitive style. The purpose of this study, describe the student's mathematical problem posing in terms of the visualizer and verbalizer cognitive styles. This type of research was qualitative research. Research instruments were the VVQ (Visualizer and Verbalizer Questionnaire) test, problem-posing test, and interview guidelines. The results of this study were that the visualizer subject posed more problems from visual information than verbal information, all the problems made were categorized as assignment propositions, and only contained one semantic relation. Meanwhile, the verbalizer subject makes the number of questions the same between verbal and visual information, the problems made were categorized as assignment propositions and categorized as conditional propositions, and all problems contain only one semantic relation.

Analisis Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematika Pada Siswa Kelas VIII SMPN 3 Woha Bima Semester Ganjil Tahun Ajaran 2021/2022

The research is purpose to description skill level of mathematical problem solving in grade students of junior high school 3 Woha Bima odd semester in academic year 2021/2022. This type of research is descriptive research. The subjects in this study were 36 students of VIII B class at SMPN 3 Woha Bima. Analisys techniques in this research is using essay test with aljabar subject as much 3 number questions with measure ability of student mathematical problem solving it can be categorized in 3 category, which is high category, medium category, and low category. After categoryzed the students will be interviewed for deeped the answer on the questions. In the interview step students will be choosed each 2 students to represent each category ability of problem solving so at the interviewed the researcher will be interview to 6 students for deeped the answer that they are got where the interview do after the researcher group each students into the category and will be choosed each 2 students to represent each category. Result of the result in the students with high ability problem solving are 14 students (39%) , medium ability problem solving are 16 students (44%), and low ability problem solving are 6 students (17%).

KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIS SISWA MTS PADA MATERI HIMPUNAN

Students often answer the question given by the teacher in a trial manner, in which when answering the question of students not understanding the question first, on the reason that the problem given is different from the problem studied so that the student assumes that math lessons are hard to understand and make the head dizzy, because it causes the obtained results to be wrong. Therefore, the study aims to describe the potential mathematical solution of class VIII MTs students in assembly material at one of the schools in the khanebic district. The research method used is qualitative descriptive. The data analysis technique used was an interactive model of miles and hubermans. The subject used in the study is an eighth grader of 15 students taken under temptive sampling. The test instrument used is to describe the problem-solving and non-tes ability by conducting an interview. Results from the study indicate that the ability to solve a student's mathematical problem falls into three categories, with 26.7% of the student is high, 133% are moderate and 60% are low. The results suggest that students' capacity for mathematical problem solving is relatively low, which means there are several indicators of an optimum problem solving capability.

Analisis Kemampuan Pemecahan Masalah Matematis Siswa dalam Menyelesaikan Soal TIMSS Materi Geometri

This study aims to analyze the mathematical problem solving ability of students in working on TIMSS questions on geometry material. This qualitative study using student subjects aged 13─15 years as many as 5 students were selected by purposive sampling.The analytical technique used is descriptive analysis, the data from the problem solving ability test results are analyzed using a problem-solving assessment rubric that has been determined by referring to the problem-solving steps according to Polya. The results showed that the re-examination stage is the stage that is most often forgotten as a result, errors often occur both in the results of the settlement and the formula used. So it can be concluded that the students mathematical problem solving ability in solving the TIMSS questions on geometry material is quite good.

ANALISIS KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIS SISWA SMA DALAM MENYELESAIKAN SOAL SISTEM PERSAMAAN LINEAR TIGA VARIABEL

Learning mathematics is something that must be done by students because mathematical problem solving ability that obtained from learning process are very necessary in students daily lives. The purpose of this research was to describe mathematical problem solving ability of high school student to solve the linear equations in three variables question. The population of this research was 30 student of 10th grade student of SMA Negeri 1 Klari. The sample of this research was determined by purposive sampling and obtained 6 students with different ability. The data collection was done by giving the test of the mathematical problem solving which had 5 story questions. The result of this research is (1) The student with high problem solving ability could solved the problem given to them though they didn’t check the answers back, (2) The student with medium problem solving ability could also solved the problem given to them though they were not completely understood what was asked on question so mistakes happened at the last part also didn’t check their answers, and (3) The student with low problem solving ability didn’t write down the process as to how they got the answer and also didn’t check back the answer they got. From the results of this research, we know that students mathematical problem solving abilities are still lacking because of that it is necessary to find a way to improve students mathematical problem solving abilities.

Integration of Principles of Education for Sustainable Development in Mathematics Learning to Improve Student's Mathematical Problem Solving Ability

<p>This study aims to examine the differences in the improvement of mathematical problem solving ability between students who receive the jigsaw cooperative learning type based on education for sustainable development and students who receive conventional learning. This study is a quasi-experimental study with a non-equivalent control group design. The population in this study were students of grade 2 at one of the state high schools. The sample consisted of two classes which were selected by random sampling. The instrument used is a mathematical problem solving ability test. Based on the data analysis, it is concluded that the improvement students mathematical problem solving ability who received the jigsaw type of cooperative learning based on education for sustainable development was better than students who received conventional learning.</p>

Analysis of The Effect of Problem Based Learning on Mathematical Problem Solving Abilities Based Gender at SMP Negeri 1 Rantau Selatan

This study aims to : 1) describe what the students mathematical problem solving ability using problem based learning model better than using conventional method, 2) describe the differences in the mathematical problem solving ability between male and female using the problem based learning model. This research uses quantitative research. Type of research is a semi experiment/quasi experiment. This research conducted in SMP Negeri 1 Rantau Selatan, Labuhanbatu. The time of research conducted on second semester academic year 2020/2021. The research instrument instead to obtain a valid instrumen like validity test and realibility test. The result of the research are the mathematical problem solving ability of students who are taught using a problem based learning model is better than students who are taught using a conventional learning method. The mathematical problem solving ability of students who are taught by problem based learning model in female is better than the mathematical problem solving abilities of students in male. Gender can not affect to mathematical problem solving ability with uses problem based learning and conventional method

An Analysis of Students’ Mathematical Problem Solving Skill in Completing Multiplication and Division of Fractions

The mathematical ability and mathematical problem solving skill can be separated in learning mathematics. In the fourth industrial revolution, one of learning objectives of learning mathematics is the student has a skill in solving mathematical problem. Meanwhile, mathematical problem solving skill can be obtained if the students’ mathematical concept understanding is high including multiplication and division of fractions. They stated that understanding fraction concept was very difficult. This study aimed to analyze the student mathematical problem solving skill of the tenth grade of Junior High School in completing multiplication and division of fractions. This research had 8 informants. Data was collected using interview and test and applied qualitative and quantitative analysis. The initial data was obtained from elementary school with three categories of mathematical ability level, namely (1) one student had high skill, two students had moderate skill and one student had low skill. The indicator of mathematical problem solving was based on George Polya (1983) consisting of four steps, they are (1) understanding problem, (2) planning a problem, (3) completing the problem, and (4) rechecking the result. The research result indicated that the student mathematical problem student was low, especially the problem solving of fraction division and multiplication. The student was difficult to make a solving plan. This situation effected on problem solving caused by the indistinctness of problem solving plan or mathematical model and/or mathematical formula about verbal sentence of mathematical problem solving. The result of interview described that the teacher did not explain the ways of completing mathematical problem solving based on G.Polya’s steps. In addition, the students were less practice in completing the problem solving questions. Besides, the teacher did not integrate the objectives of basic competence 3 and 4 in each meeting.

Affective determinants of mathematical problem posing: the case of Chinese Miao students

Students’ affective characteristics have been confirmed to shape their mathematics learning outcomes, including problem-solving performance and mathematics achievement. However, it remains unclear whether affect influences student mathematical problem posing - a process closely related to mathematical problem solving. Drawn from the expectancy-value theory (EVT), this study examined the relationship between students’ affective factors (self-concept, intrinsic value, and test anxiety) and their mathematical problem posing performance (complexity, quantity, and accuracy). Structural equation models were employed to analyze the data of 302 Chinese Miao students. The results showed that self-concept had a positive association with the complexity and accuracy of the problems posed. Intrinsic value was positively related to the complexity and quantity of the problems posed. Conversely, test anxiety negatively predicted the complexity of the problems. Our findings provide quantitative evidence of the significant influence of students’ affective characteristics on their problem posing performance and offer a better understanding of the problem-posing ability of Chinese minority students. Moreover, this study validates an instrument measuring student affect in mathematical problem posing based on EVT.

ANALISIS EFIKASI DIRI DALAM PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIS PESERTA DIDIK KELAS XI MA DARUL ULUM

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan efikasi diri pada peserta didik dalam pemecahan masalah matematis ditinjau dari kemampuan matematika peserta didik kelas XI MA Darul Ulum tahun pelajaran 2019/2020. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah dua peserta didik kelas XI MA Darul Ulum dengan kemampuan matematika yang berbeda yaitu tinggi dan sedang. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi, wawancara, tes pemecahan masalah, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini dianalisis pada setiap teknik pengumpulan data. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa tingkat efikasi diri dalam pemecahan masalah dari masing-masing peserta didik adalah berbeda, pada peserta didik berkemampuan matematika tinggi menunjukkan efikasi diri yang tinggi, peserta didik berkemampuan matematika sedang menunjukkan efikasi diri yang rendah, namun dalam pemecahan masalah peserta didik berkemampuan matematika sedang lebih baik dari pada pemecahan masalah peserta didik berkemampuan matematika tinggi.

PROFIL PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIKA SISWA SMP DENGAN KECERDASAN INTERPERSONAL DITINJAU BERDASARKAN GENDER

This study is a qualitative research that aims to get a description of the profile of students mathematical problem solving grade IX SMP with interpersonal intelligence based on gender differences on Polya phase. The subjects of this study were students at grade IX of Junior High School who had a interpersonal intelligence based on gender differences. This study was conducted at the Junior High School in Palu, Central Sulawesi. Based on data analysis can be concluded that male students who have interpersonal intelligence can do all stages problem solving of mathematics, that is understand the problem, make a plan, carry out our plan, and look back at the completed solution with tendencies to build up interaction with other people to easily understand the problems. While female students who have interpersonal intelligence while do some stage problem solving of mathematics need help too much, that is understand the problem and make a plan. As for the stages carry out our plan, and look back at the completed solution the female students do with full of confidences.

PENGARUH MODEL PEMBELAJARAN KOOPERATIF TIPE NUMBERED HEAD TOGETHER (NHT) TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN PEMECAHAN MASALAH MATEMATIS SISWA SMP

This research is motivated by the low ability of student' mathematical problem solving which is one of the goals in learning mathematic. One effort to improve students mathematical problem solving skills is to use the Cooperative learning model type Numbered Head Together (NHT) which makes students learn more actively in learning mathematics. This study aims to determine the final achievement and improvement of students' mathematical problem solving abilities by using the Numbered Head Together (NHT) learning model in mathematics learning. This study uses a quasi-experimental method with nonequivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The sample of this study were class VII E as an experimental class and class VII D as a control class in SMP Negeri 9 Serang City. The instrument used in this study was a test of mathematical problem solving ability. Data from this study were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The conclusion of this study is the final achievement and improvement of students' mathematical problem solving abilities by using the Cooperative learning model Numbered Head Together (NHT) is better than students who use expository learning models. Thus, the Cooperative learning model type Numbered Head Together (NHT) can be applied to improve the mathematical problem solving ability of junior high school students. The Improvement of Students Mathematical Problem Solving Ability by Implementing Cooperative Learning Model in Smp Tunas Pelita Binjai

This research is a quasi-experimental research with a pretest-posttest control group design. The purpose of this study was to determine the improvement of students' mathematical problem solving abilities using the STAD type cooperative learning model in class VIII of Tunas Pelita Binjai private Junior High School on algebraic operation material. The population in this study were the whole students of class VIII SMP Tunas Pelita Binjai and the sample was randomly selected, namely class VIII-1 (experimental class) and class VIII-2 (control class). The instrument used was a mathematical problem solving ability test instrument. The tests were carried out twice, namely at the beginning of learning (pretest) before receiving treatment and after receiving treatment at the end of learning (posttest). The instrument was confirmed to have fulfilled the validation and reliability requirements. The data analysis was performed using t-test. The finding of this study indicate that there is an improvement in students' mathematical problem-solving abilities using the STAD type cooperative learning model on the subject of algebraic operations significantly. The improvement was seen from the results of the gain score analysis, it was known that the average gain of the experimental class was in the moderate category (0.692) and the average gain of the control class was in the moderate category somehow lower than the experimental class (0.609). The aforementioned findings indicate that there was an improvement in the mathematical problem solving ability of the experimental class which was higher than the improvement in problem solving ability in the control class.

Development of Mathematics Learning Devices by Applying Problem Based Learning to Increase Students Mathematical Solving Skills of Class VII Junior High School

This research was motivated by the low ability of Mathematical Problem Solving (KPMM) of students. In order to improve KPMM, teachers can do designing the learning process. This study aims to develop mathematical learning tools that are valid, practical and effective. The development model used the Borg and Gall model. The research instrument consisted of syllabus validation sheets, lesson plane (RPP), student worksheet (LKPD), observability of implementation, student questionnaire responses and KPMM test instruments. The result shows the mathematics learning kit using the PBL model was already valid which is for the syllabus was 85.41%, RPP was 85.11%, LKPD was 88.67% and the test instrument was 81.71%. The learning kit fulfills the practicality requirements in large group trials with an average questionnaire of students responses of 91.99% and an average of 94.58%. Effective mathematics learning tools is to improve KPMM of students with student learning outcomes that is based on the achievement of KKM with the percentage of completeness reached is 88.24%. Development of learning tools can significantly improve students mathematical problem solving abilities at a significant level of P = 0,000 with α = 0.05. Thus, it can be concluded that the development of mathematics learning tools by applying problem based learning can improve students mathematical problem solving abilities
