Implementation of Classical Format Intelligent Character Education (PKC-KA) to Reduce Student Academic Procrastination

Prokrastinasi akademik merupakan salah satu permasalah yang sering terjadi, terutama dibidang akademik. Prokrastinasi akademik dapat didefinisikan sebagai kecenderungan seseorang dalam menunda kegiatan yang berkaitan dengan akademik. Salah satu penyebab terjadinya prokrastinasi pada siswa yaitu rasa malas dan tidak memahami tugas yang diberikan oleh guru. Salah satu perilaku siswa yang mengarah kepada prokrastinasi akademik adalah tidak megumpulkan tugas sekolah sesuai waktu yang telah ditentukan sebelumnya. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X-IPS 1 dan X-IPS 2 MAN 1 Batubara dengan kelompok eksperimen sebanyak 32 orang siswa dan kelompok kontrol sebanyak 32 orang siswa. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah model Skala Likert, selanjutnya akan dianalisis menggunakan uji Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test dan uji Kolmogorov-Smirnov Two Independent Sampel dengan bantuan SPSS versi 26.00. Temuan penelitian ini secara umum menunjukkan bahwa pendidikan karakter cerdas format klaskal (PKC-Ka) efektif untuk mengurangi prokrastinasi akademik pada siswa sehingga untuk selanjutnya dapat diberikan kepada siswa dalam upaya mengurangi prokrastinasi akademik siswa. Selanjutnya, temuan penelitian secara khusus yaitu: (1) terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan prokrastinasi akademik mahasiswa pada kelompok eksperimen sebelum dan setelah diberikan pendidikan karakter cerdas format klaskal (PKC-Ka), (2) terdapat perbedaan prokrastinasi akademik mahasiswa pada kelompok kontrol sebelum dan setelah diberikan informasi konvensional dan (3) terdapat perbedaan prokrastinasi akademik siswa antara kelompok eksperimen yang diberikan pendidikan karakter cerdas format klaskal (PKC-Ka) dengan kelompok kontrol yang diberikan layanan informasi konvensional

Efektivitas Penerapan Teknik Self Management Melalui Konseling Kelompok Untuk Mereduksi Prokrastinasi Akademik Siswa

The effectiveness of applying self-management techniques through group counseling to reduce academic procrastination in students of class Xl IPS Sint Carolus Catholic High School for the 2023/2024 academic year?. The aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness of applying self-management techniques through group counseling to reduce academic procrastination in class XI IPS students at Sint Carolus Catholic High School for the 2023/2024 academic year.The method used in this research is quantitative descriptive with pre-experimental design (one group pretest-posttest design). The instruments used in this research were the academic procrastination questionnaire as a data collection instrument and intervention guidelines as a treatment instrument. The data analysis technique uses the t test formula. The results of the analysis show that the t_count value is 23.543, while the value at the 5% significance level is 2.776, so the . This shows that self-management techniques through group counseling are effective in reducing academic procrastination in class XI IPS students at Sint Carolus Catholic High School for the 2023/2024 academic year. Student academic procrastination in online and offline learning

Students after attending offline lectures stated that they understood the lecture material better and it was more fun. The purpose of this study is to determine the academic procrastination of students in both offline and online learning, the level of academic procrastination of students, differences in academic procrastination in learning, factors that influence academic procrastination, and the magnitude of the influence of each factor forming it. The analysis technique used is Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) with the Structural Equation Model (SEM) model. ANOVA analysis was used to determine the difference between online and offline learning on self-perception, self-efficacy, self-resilience, and academic procrastination. The results of this study show that there are differences in self-perception, self-efficacy, self-resilience, and academic procrastination owned by students for online and offline learning. Offline learning is considered better for students as evidenced by the fact that when compared to both learning systems (online and offline), offline learning has higher self-perception, self-efficacy, self-resilience, and academic procrastination than online learning.

Analysis of Factors Causing Academic Procrastination in Students

Procrastination is the behavior of delaying doing something. In the academic field, this behavior is commonly known as academic procrastination. Students who have this behavior tend to always delay doing college assignments, work on assignments close to deadlines, and spend time on less important things. This study aimed to determine the factors causing the emergence of Academic Procrastination Behavior in Students. This research is qualitative descriptive research with 70 Guidance and Counseling students as subjects. Methods of data collection using the interview method. The data analysis technique uses source triangulation. The results of the study show that the causes of academic procrastination are habits, poor time management, laziness, fatigue experienced by students, as well as work and assignments that are difficult to understand. The conclusion of this study is procrastination and excessive laziness are the main factors that cause procrastination behavior in individuals. Therefore students need to eliminate feelings of laziness to avoid academic procrastination.

College Students Academic Procrastination Behavior and Its Impact on Academic Performance

Procrastination behaviors become more and more common among the college student population. Procrastination behaviors include being late to class, not completing tasks assigned by teachers on time, not having a clear study time plan, or making a hasty last-minute effort. The reason for procrastination is to some extent due to less supervision by teachers and parents. Therefore, research on academic procrastination among college students and on effective interventions to correct this undesirable behavior is currently the focus of educational studies. Based on this phenomenon, this paper conducted a questionnaire survey and an in-depth interview to investigate the local undergraduate university, Qingdao Agricultural University, as an example. This paper investigated the differences in study procrastination behavior among gender and grade levels and the influence of study procrastination behavior on college studentsacademic performance. The findings revealed that there was no discernible variation in the study procrastination behaviors of college students in local undergraduate institutions in terms of gender. According to grade level, the third year of college had the greatest level of procrastination, and the fourth year of college had the lowest level, according to grade level. In addition, there was a good correlation existed between academic procrastination behavior and academic performance. The primary causes for procrastination were students lack of interest in the task itself and their poor self-control. In all, this study provides preliminary evidence for future educational practices targeting procrastination.

Hubungan Antara Self-Monitoring dengan Prokrastinasi Akademik pada Siswa SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Sidoarjo

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of academic procrastination experienced by students of SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Sidoarjo. This study aims to determine the relationship between self-monitoring and academic procrastination in students of SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Sidoarjo. This research belongs to the type of quantitative research with a correlational approach. The population in this study amounted to 1257 students, so from the calculation using the krejcie Morgan formula the sample used was 297 students who were taken using stratified random sampling technique. Data collection in this study used two psychological scales, namely the self-monitoring scale from the self-monitoring aspect and the academic procrastination scale from the academic procrastination aspect. Data analysis in this study used Spearman's Correlations and the analysis process used the help of the JASP program version 0.13.1.0 for windows. The results showed that the value of r = -0.163 and the value of p = 0.005 where 0.005 <0.05, which means that there is a negative relationship between self-monitoring variables and academic procrastination in students of SMA Muhammadiyah 2 Sidoarjo.

Conscientiousness dan Dukungan Sosial Teman Sebaya Terhadap Prokrastinasi Akademik Mahasiswa Jurusan Sistem Komputer

Students who practice academic procrastination often experience failure in the academic field due to the behavior of procrastinating time in doing assignments from lecturers which results in feelings of laziness, fatigue, and boredom so that students experience failure in the academic field. Conscientiousness can be interpreted as a description of a person's persistence to control his inner urges so that he can be responsible and comply with existing norms and rules. Peer social support is needed to reduce academic procrastination behavior, this is because positive support from peers in the educational process will improve student academic performance. This study aims to empirically examine the role of conscientiousness and peer social support in predicting student academic procrastination in the computer systems department of Universitas Putra Indonesia YPTK Padang. The sample for this study was 152 active status students from 2016 to 2019 using a simple random sampling technique. This research is non-experimental quantitative research with a survey method. The research measuring instrument consists of three scales, namely the conscientiousness scale, the peer social support scale and the academic procrastination scale. The results of this study indicate that conscientiousness and peer social support in collaboration are able have a significant effect on student academic procrastination in the computer systems department. Furthermore, conscientiousness partially has a significant effect on student academic procrastination in the computer systems department. Finally, peer social support partially has a significant effect on student academic procrastination in the computer systems department. The relationship that occurs is negative, the higher the conscientiousness and peer social support, the lower the student academic procrastination in the computer systems department.

HUBUNGAN MANAJEMEN WAKTU DENGAN PROKRASTINASI AKADEMIK SISWA KELAS XI DI SMAN 6 TANGERANG

Time management was managing time by identifying the needs and desires of students and arranging them in order of importance, while academic procrastination was delaying starting or completing work in the field of learning. This study aimed to determine the level of time management, the level of academic procrastination and the relationship between time management and academic procrastination. This study used a quantitative approach with a correlational research design. The population in this study numbered 384 with 80 samples. Data collection techniques used questionnaires and sampling using proportional random sampling method with samples taken randomly without regarded to strata in the population. This study used data analysis, namely descriptive analysis. The result of this study indicated that there was a significant negative relationship between time management and student procrastination with a value of -0.694. The result also showed that the higher level of student time management, so that the lower level of student academic procrastination.

Academic procrastination in students at a private university in the Peruvian Amazon: A cross-sectional study

Introduction: Procrastination is considered a fairly recurring behavior since ancient times, as people tend to postpone activities that are considered complex, not very motivating, stressful or that do not generate interest. Objective: To analyze academic procrastination in students from a private university in the Peruvian Amazon. Hubungan Antara Self-Regulated Learning dengan Motivasi Belajar Siswa SMA Hang Tuah 2 Sidoarjo pada Masa Pandemi

This research was based on the phenomenon problem of motivation to learn experienced by students of SMA Hang Tuah 2 Sidoarjo. This study aims to determine the relationship between self-regulation learning and learning motivation in students of Sma Hang Tuah 2 Sidoarjo. This research is included in the type of quantitative research with a correlational approach. This research was conducted at SMA Hang Tuah 2 Sidoarjo, East Java. The population in this study was 400 students, so from calculations using the Krejcie Morgan formula, the sample used 196 students taken using a simple random sampling technique. Data collection in this study used two psychological scales, namely the self-regulated learning scale from the aspect of self-regulated learning developed by Dewi (2019) and obtained a reliability coefficient value of (α) 0.939 and a learning motivation scale from the aspect of learning motivation developed by Santiarini (2020) and a reliability coefficient value of (α) 0.835 was obtained. Data analysis in this study using Spearman's Correlations and this analysis process used the help of the JASP program version 0.14.0.0 for windows. The results of the study obtained a value of r = 0.538 and a p value = 0.001 where 0.001 < 0.05 which means that there is a positive relationship between self regulated learning variables and academic procrastination in students of SMA Hang Tuah 2 Sidoarjo.

The Relationship Between Academic Anxiety and Academic Procrastination in Students of the Faculty of Psychology and Education, University of Muhammadiyah Sidoarjo

Students often delay completing coursework, this is called academic procrastination. Academic procrastination occurs due to personal factors such as fear, failure, anxiety and depression. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between academic anxiety and academic procrastination in students. The population of this research is active students of the faculty of psychology and education, Muhammadiyah University of Sidoarjo, totaling 2200 students with a sample of 241 students taken by simple random sampling technique. Data collection techniques using a Likert scale and data analysis techniques using Pearson product moment correlation. The results of data analysis obtained rxy = 0.457 with sig 0.000 <0.05. The highest hypothesis is accepted, which means that there is a positive relationship between academic anxiety and academic procrastination in students.

Upaya Mereduksi Prokrastinasi Akademik pada Siswa dengan Konseling Behavioristik Teknik Kontrak Perilaku

The purpose of this study was to describe academic procrastination and efforts to overcome it using a behavioristic approach with behavior contracting techniques for students at SMAN 5 Kundur. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. The subjects of this study consisted of two 11th grade students of SMAN 5 Kundur who were indicated to have a high level of academic procrastination. The data analysis used is qualitative data analysis which consists of three stages, namely, data reduction, data exposure and conclusions. The results of this study indicate that individual counseling services with a behavioristic approach to behavior contracting techniques can reduce the level of academic procrastination in students.

Relationships of Academic Support and Attitude Towards Future Career with Academic Procrastination in Students: The Mediating Role of Academic Burnout

Background: Given the negative effects of procrastination on various aspects of student’s academic and personal lives, as well as the role of psychological and environmental variables in various academic problems, this study investigated the mediating role of academic burnout in the relationship between academic support and attitude towards a future career with academic procrastination in high school students. Methods: The statistical population in this descriptive correlational study consisted of all male senior high school students in Gachsaran County, Iran, in the academic year 2021 - 2022, of whom 234 were selected as the study sample using cluster sampling. Data collection was done using the Attitude to Future Career Questionnaire, Academic Support Scale, Academic Procrastination Scale, and School Burnout Inventory. The data were analyzed statistically using the Pearson correlation coefficient and path analysis in SPSS-22 and AMOS. Results: The results showed that the direct effect of academic support on academic procrastination was statistically significant (P < 0.001). In addition, the direct effect of attitude toward the future career on academic procrastination was not significant, but its indirect effect on academic procrastination was (P < 0.001). The results also indicated the significant direct effect of attitude toward the future career on academic burnout (P < 0.001), whereas there was no significant relationship between academic support and academic burnout. Conclusions: The study findings demonstrated that academic burnout could mediate the relationship between attitude toward a future career and academic procrastination. Moreover, the research model fitted the data well. Therefore, researchers, school counselors, and child and adolescent psychologists are recommended to pay special attention to the factors affecting academic burnout when developing educational and therapeutic interventions aimed at reducing academic procrastination among students.

The Relationship of Student Academic Procrastination to Quarter Life Crisis

This study partially explores the relationship between student procrastination and quarterly crises among undergraduates in the business education program at Pancasakti University Bekasi from 2020 to 2022. while judging empirically. This type of study is a descriptive study that explains or shows the relationship or influence between independent and dependent variables. The research subject consists of students who have completed a course of business education between 2020 and 2022. This study included a sample of 82 respondents, who distributed surveys in batches or via Google From, and each survey via his WhatsApp group. Sampling using non-probative sampling methods using targeted sampling techniques. Hypothesis testing using a simple linear regression test was performed in SPSS 20.0. The results of this study showed that the independent variable of academic procrastination was positively, though not significantly, associated with the dependent variable, quarter-century crisis. The results of this study show that thitung<ttabel value 0,67 < 1,990 then with a decent degree 0,947 > 0,05 Thus, the hypothesis of this study is Ho accepted and Ha rejected. It can be concluded that "academic procrastination is positively and slightly associated with quarter-life crises."

The population of this study was faculty students at a university from various batches with a sample of 163 people, who were selected through a technique proportional stratified random sampling. The instrument used is a behavioral scale game addiction, academic procrastination scale with the Likert model. Research data were analyzed using a simple regression technique. The findings of this study indicate that student academic procrastination is in the moderate category, academic procrastination contributes significantly to student behavior.game addiction, The implications of the findings of this study can be used as input for creating a Guidance and Counseling service program at the university level.

Academic Resilience and Procrastination in Students Who Study While Working

Students who work carry out multiple roles in their daily lives, on the one hand working and, on the other hand, having to carry out responsibilities in the lecture process. This dual role is difficult because it provides many challenges and requires good psychological resilience. Therefore, this study aims to determine the relationship between resilience and academic procrastination in students who study while working. This research belongs to the quantitative research with the Karl Pearson correlation design. The subjects involved in this study were 205 working students aged 17-25 and were selected using a non-probability snowball sampling technique. Data collection in the study was carried out using a psychological scale as a questionnaire, which will be distributed online via Google Forms. The data obtained in the study were then analyzed using the product moment correlational analysis technique from Karl Pearson to determine the relationship between resilience and academic procrastination. The data analysis process was carried out with the help of the IBM SPSS Statistics 21 for Windows program. The results of the data analysis show that the correlation coefficient is -0.021 with sig. = 0.382 (p>0.05), meaning there is no significant negative relationship between resilience and academic procrastination in students who study while working.

Efektifitas Layanan Bimbingan Kelompok Teknik FGD Untuk Mengurangi Prokrastinasi Akademik Siswa di SMP N 1 Madukara

This study aims to see the effectiveness of Group Guidance Services using thetechnique Focus Group Discussion in minimizing academic procrastination in Class VII F students of SMPN 1 Madukara. The characteristic or distinguishing feature of this research is the use of Group Guidance Services FGD techniques. Where FGD is a focus group discussion, not a free discussion. FGD is a group discussion technique to discuss the same problem, in an informal and relaxed atmosphere. The results of the calculation of the t coefficient using the SPSS program show that tcount= 19,848 compared to ttable with a significance of 5% for dk n-1=8-1=7 is 2.365. This shows that tcount is greater than ttable, namely 19,848 2,365. So it was concluded that there was a significant difference between the level of student academic procrastination before and after being given FGD services. Profil Prokrastinasi Akademik Siswa SMK Negeri di Kota Serang

This study aims to find out the general description of academic procrastination in State Vocational School students in Serang City. The type of research used was a descriptive study with a sampling technique using proportional random sampling with a total sample of 336 students in Serang City, divided into 8 schools. The measurement tool used is the academic procrastination scale which consists of aspects, namely delays in starting or completing the tasks at hand, delays in doing assignments, time gaps between plans and actual performance and carrying out other activities that are more enjoyable, which as a whole consists of 37 statement items . The data analysis technique uses a quantitative descriptive method. The results of the study showed that the level of academic procrastination in students in the high category was 3.1%, medium was 89%, and low was 7.1%. Therefore, the academic procrastination of State Vocational High School students in Serang City is in the moderate category. After analyzing the results of the research and obtaining categorization, the guidance and counseling program design was made based on the needs of the student.

The Effect of Self-Regulated Learning Training on Student Academic Procrastination Behavior

Students have responsibilities as students of knowledge and complete academic tasks. The assignments given can help students to improve their understanding of the material presented. One of the problems that can be experienced by students related to academic assignments is that students often delay doing assignments in an academic context or what is known as academic procrastination. Academic procrastination is thought to be the result of a failure of self-regulation that adversely affects the well-being and academic performance of students. This problem was also found in students of the Psychology Study Program, Faculty of Public Health, Nusa Cendana University class 2017. One thing that can be done to overcome this problem is to provide Self-Regulated Learning training to students who often delay their academic assignments. This research was conducted to see the effect of Self-Regulated Learning training to reduce the level of academic procrastination behavior among students. This type of research is Quasi Experimental research. Participants in this study amounted to 13 students who have met the research requirements. The results of the analysis of research data indicate that Self-Regulated Learning training has an effect on reducing student academic procrastination behavior.
