This publication is devoted to one of the topics representing the vocabulary of monasticism. In previous issues two parts of the “Monasticism” section were published. This work can be considered a deepening of the previous one, since it contains vocabulary describing the features of the inner life of monastics.Some sections touching on the topic of asceticism appeared earlier (attitudes to prayer, humility, hope in God, love for Him, etc.), but in relation to monastics, the vocabulary takes on a more specific, strict coloring, as it describes vigils, severe fasts, the practice of wearing a hair shirt, self-flagellation (in Catholicism).As in previous publications, archaisms are sometimes used because they are found in religious literature in Russian. As in previous publications, the reader may encounter possible unevenness and unsystematicity in the selection of vocabulary. This is due to the fact that we are not dealing with a translation of a theology textbook, but with vocabulary and concepts most often found in religious literature. At the same time, their relative weight in individual subtopics, as well as in both faiths, may be different: some topics are more emphasized in religious life and attract the attention of writers and speakers of these languages.The work was submitted for review to Archpriest Igor (Vyzhanov), candidate of theology, rector of the St. Nicholas Patriarchal Cathedral in New York, and Bruno Bisson, candidate of philological sciences, simultaneous translator, who made very valuable comments. On strict strong coloring of graphs

A strict strong coloring of a graph [Formula: see text] is a proper coloring of [Formula: see text] in which every vertex of the graph is adjacent to every vertex of some color class. The minimum number of colors required for a strict strong coloring of [Formula: see text] is called the strict strong chromatic number of [Formula: see text] and is denoted by [Formula: see text]. In this paper, we characterize the results on strict strong coloring of Mycielskian graphs and iterated Mycielskian graphs.

Application of Multi-Baseline Digital Close-Range Photogrametry Technique in 3D Reconstruction of Underground Tomb

The theory and characteristics of the multi-baseline digital close-range photogrametry were discussed to be used in cultural relics preservation. Take the 3D reconstruction project of the Yu Shan the 5th mural tomb in Ji-an as an example, two methods were put forward to measure the control points of the image without any harm to the object. Also, Tricolor cool tone electron energy conservation lamp was used to meet the strict color control of the mural images. Engineering tests show that the methods put forward could greatly reduce the field work and labor intensity with the characteristics of high accuracy, automation and efficiency. Production efficiency is improved as well. The precision of mapping and image texture satisfies the requirements of cultural relics preservation. In addition, how to manage and index such data through database technology needs further study.

On some colouring of 4-cycle systems with specified block colour patterns

The present paper continues the study (begun by Quattrocchi, Colouring 4-cycle systems with specified block colour pattern: the case of embedding P 3 -designs, Electron. J. Combin. 8 (2001)) of 4-cycle systems with specified block colour patterns that are also strict colourings in the sense of Voloshin [Coloring Mixed Hypergraphs: Theory, Algorithms and Applications, American Mathematical Society, Providence RI, 2002]. Here we consider colourings with patterns of size 3 or 4 such that each colour class C induces a P 2 -design embedded into the 4-cycle system.

The Political Color Line in America: Many “Peoples of Color” or Black Exceptionalism?

Despite the successes of the civil rights movement, a largely impermeable color line continues to restrict African Americans from assimilation into the broader American society. In the meantime high rates of immigration have produced an increasingly culturally diverse population. A “people of color” hypothesis suggests that the color line the new immigrants face resembles that imposed on African Americans. A “black exceptionalism” hypothesis suggests instead that the color line will be more porous for them, allowing for greater assimilation over successive generations, including a gradual weakening of politicized racial and ethnic group consciousness. Using data from Los Angeles County Social Surveys, we find that the largest new immigrant group, Latinos, like blacks, show strongly group‐interested policy preferences and strong group consciousness. However, both effects are stronger for recent Latino immigrants than for the U.S.‐born. We conclude that the new immigrant groups are increasingly likely to assimilate politically into the broader society in future generations, whereas a rather strict color line will continue to restrict blacks and maintain their distinctiveness.

Strict colourings of STS ( 3 v ) s containing three mutually disjoint subsystems of order v are examined. An upper bound for χ ¯ of STS ( 3 v ) linked with χ ¯ of its subsystems of order v is determined and an infinite class of uncolourable BSTS ( 3 v ) s is found.

Triplication for BSTSs and uncolourability

Characterizing the uncolourable BSTS( v)s is among the problems posed in the book “Triple Systems” (Triple Systems, Clarendon Press, Oxford, 1999.) by Colbourn and Rosa. We investigate the properties of strict colourings of BSTS(3 v)s obtained by triplication. In particular, in the case v=9 we answer a question raised in (Strict colourings of STS(3 v)s and uncolourable BSTS(3 v)s, Submitted.) regarding a class of uncolourable BSTS(27)s.

Circular and uniquely colorable mixed hypergraphs

A mixed hypergraph is a triple H = (X, C,D), where X is the vertex set, |X| = n, and each of C, D is a family of subsets of X, the C-edges and Dedges, respectively. A proper k-coloring of a mixed hypergraph is a mapping from the vertex set to a set of k colors so that each C-edge has two vertices with a common color and each D-edge has two vertices with distinct colors. A mixed hypergraph is k-colorable (uncolorable; uniquely colorable) if it has a proper coloring with at most k colors (admits no colorings; admits precisely one coloring apart from the permutation of colors). A strict k-coloring is a proper k-coloring when all k colors are used. The minimum number of colors in a strict coloring of H is called the lower chromatic number χ(H); the maximum number is called the upper chromatic number χ(H).

Strict colourings for classes of steiner triple systems

We investigate the largest number of colours, called upper chromatic number and denoted X( H) , that can be assigned to the vertices (points) of a Steiner triple system H in such a way that every block H ∈ H contains at least two vertices of the same colour. The exact value of X is determined for some classes of triple systems, and it is observed further that optimal colourings with the same number of colours exist also under the additional assumption that no monochromatic block occurs. Examples show, however, that the cardinalities of the colour classes in the latter case are more strictly determined.

Creation ofqq¯pairs in a chromoelectric flux tube

Schwinger's result for the rate of pair creation in a uniform external field has been transcribed previously into QCD. We reexamine this problem. The mutual interaction of the pair and strict energy conservation (which were implicitly neglected by Schwinger), while generally negligible in QED, are of major importance in QCD. In the picture of strict color confinement in a tube we derive a new result which is free of these defects.
