Integration and implementation of LSS 4.0 practices: a perspective from manufacturing and service sectors

PurposeLean Six Sigma (LSS) is often perceived as a foundation for implementing Industry 4.0 (I4.0) within an organization, with the two strengthening each other in different ways. The purpose of this article is to examine the evolution, trends and motivation for merging LSS and I4.0 and to gain insights into LSS 4.0 in both manufacturing and service sectors. This article also explores the effective methods for integrating and implementing LSS 4.0 in both manufacturing and service sectors, along with conducting a Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) analysis of LSS 4.0.Design/methodology/approachBy conducting a systematic literature review in compliance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines, relevant literature from 2010 to 2023 was reviewed using appropriate keywords and research criteria. The objective was to identify, select and evaluate research articles related to LSS 4.0. Consequently, 159 relevant papers were located in databases, including Elsevier, Taylor and Francis Group, IEEE, Springer, Emerald Insights, Scopus and non-Scopus databases. Additionally, this review aimed to understand the progress of LSS 4.0 from the manufacturing and service sector context and to perform a SWOT analysis of LSS 4.0.FindingsThis review reveals a significant surge in the literature on LSS and I4.0 over the past three years. The research articles were categorized based on various themes, including the publisher, journals, types of articles and geographical factors such as country and continent. Additionally, the review examined the progress of LSS 4.0 in both manufacturing and service sectors. A SWOT analysis was also performed to identify the SWOT of LSS 4.0.Originality/valueThis is the first exclusive research work to conduct a SWOT analysis of LSS 4.0. This research article is highly valuable for academicians, researchers, policymakers and practitioners as it helps to identify the SWOT of LSS 4.0. Furthermore, it provides an overview of the progress of LSS 4.0 from both manufacturing and service sector perspectives, and significant case studies are discussed.

Business Suitability Analysis and Development Strategy Paddy Rice Fields in Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region Province

The limitations of agriculture and aquaculture areas impact the reduction of food availability and farmers' welfare. To fulfill rice and fish consumption demand can be approached through paddy rice field development. This research aims to analyze the financial suitability of both internal and external factors and arrange the strategy for developing paddy rice fields in Bantul Regency. The data collection method was from the interview and direct observation. The development strategy arrangement is based on the SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) analysis and QSPM (Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix). The paddy rice fields business's resulting net present value is IDR 362.694.656, R/C Ratio= 2.02, and payback period = 5,33 months, which shows the paddy rice fields are worthy and more prospective than a conventional system. The prior internal factors on the paddy rice fields are more profitable; most workers are sharecroppers and require higher capital than the traditional system. The external factors include the stability of the sales price and product market, incentive mentoring from the instructor, the infrastructure assistance policy of paddy rice fields, and the strategic location. The development strategy is strengthening the farmer's behavior from conventional planting rice to paddy rice fields system, increasing the farmer motivation, repairing fence design to minimize pest attack, utilizing mediator as a negotiate media from sharecropper to rice fields owner, developing the paddy rice fields area as ecotourism, and establishing cooperation both with region financial institution and Marine and Fisheries Business Capital Management Institute (LPMUKP) for extensive capital

A Tale of an Airlines Company: Towards A Model of Strategy Formulation Through the Lenses of Sustainable Development Goal

Objective: The purpose of this paper is to explore a few insights into the national airlines of Bangladesh (called Biman) and how they can achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). Further, the paper evaluates the available strategies using IEF, EFE, SWOT, IE & QSPM matrices/techniques as proposed by David & David (2017). Theoretical Framework: IFE (Internal Factor Evaluation) & EFE (External Factor Evaluation (e.g. input stage), SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, and Threats) & IE (Internal and External) matrix (e.g. matching stage), and finally QSPM (Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix) (e.g. decision-making stage) are used for strategy formulation. Method: This study applies a mixed-method approach. Face-to-face interviews with the passengers of London-Dhaka-London are conducted, and additionally, the content analysis of relevant newspapers and journal articles is carried out. Results and Discussion: QSPM finds, that market development (priority-1), offensive strategy (priority-2), and product development (priority-3) are the appropriate strategies for the airline.It would be not easy to generalize the results as the study is based on one public airline company in a particular country (Bangladesh). Research Implications: This study has both theoretical and practical implications. The study demonstrates how to formulate plans using a quantitative method. The result of this study might be beneficial to Bangladesh's Civil Aviation Authority. The recommendations of this study may help generate profits in Biman. Originality/Value: This study contributes to the strategy literature. Strategy development processes for any business, including aviation, may be eye-opening.

Chemical Synthesis of Monolignols: Traditional Methods, Recent Advances, and Future Challenges in Sustainable Processes.

Monolignols represent pivotal alcohol-based constituents in lignin synthesis, playing indispensable roles in plant growth and development with profound implications for industries reliant on wood and paper. Monolignols and their derivates have multiple applications in several industries. Monolignols exhibit antioxidant activity due to their ability to donate hydrogen atoms or electrons to neutralize free radicals, thus preventing oxidative stress and damage to cells. Characterized by their alcohol functionalities, monolignols present three main forms: p-coumaryl alcohol, coniferyl alcohol, and sinapyl alcohol. In nature, particularly in plants, monolignols with geometry (E) predominate over their Z counterparts. The methods for obtaining the three canonical monolignols, two less-common monolignols, and a monolignol analogue are addressed to present an overview of these phenol-based compounds, particularly from a synthetic standpoint. A SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis is used to explain the advantages and disadvantages of synthesizing monolignols, key alcohol-containing raw materials with enormous significance in both plant biology and industrial applications, using bench chemical methods. The uniqueness of this work is that it provides an overview of the synthetic pathways of monolignols to assist researchers in pharmaceutical and biological fields in selecting an appropriate procedure for the preparation of their lignin models. Moreover, we aim to inspire scientists, particularly chemists, to develop more sustainable synthetic protocols for monolignols.

Sustainable Development of the Cultural and Creative Industries in the Post-Pandemic Era: A Case Study of the Animation Industry in China

As a novel development concept and model, the cultural and creative industries have become an important sector of the global economy owing to their diverse development pathways. In particular, the animation industry surpasses traditional sectors in scale. This industry demonstrated unprecedented resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighting its critical significance in the global economy. In this study, the SWOT (strength, weakness, opportunity, and threat)-PEST (political, economic, social, and technological factor) analytical model was employed to systematically assess various properties of the animation industry in China. Through an in-depth analysis of both internal and external factors affecting the industry and in consideration of conditions in the post-pandemic era, industrial development strategies across macro, meso, and micro levels were proposed to improve the existing development system. It was found that policy guidance at the macro level, improving the industry chain, integrating technologies at the meso level, and expanding target markets and financial channels at the micro level are key strategies for the continued development of the industry. This study offers new insights and directions for the sustainable development of the animation industry in China.

Strategic plans on the context of business excellence models and its financial impact: the case of the Cavendish banana grower cooperatives

PurposeThis study was conducted to assess the alignment of the strategic plans of the Cavendish banana grower cooperatives to business excellence models (BEMs) and to determine its financial impact to elucidate the performance of the respective cooperatives. This is anchored on the primary objectives of cooperative business sustainability, expansion and sustained competitiveness, all of which are significantly impacted by the strategic plans. The BEMS establish the parameters that are useful in determining how well the strategic plans correspond.Design/methodology/approachQualitative and quantitative methods were used in this study. Strategic plans and audited financial statements (FS) for calendar year (CY) 2021 and 2022 of two Cavendish banana grower cooperatives in Region XI on the context of BEMs were evaluated and examined using the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award and Philippine Quality Award. Of the seven criteria, only five were considered as follows: organizational profile, leadership, strategy, workforce, process and result. The first four were taken from strategic plans, while result was from audited FS.FindingsThe strategic plans of the two cooperatives selectively satisfy some of the sub-criteria of each of the four criteria. Furthermore, the cooperatives followed the usual basic contents of and briefly presented in the strategic plans the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT) analysis, strategic objectives, plans, targets and timelines. This suggests that the cooperatives are not familiar with the BEMs which could be attributed to the educational qualifications of the directors and officers, or possibly not introduced by the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA). On the financial performance, one cooperative has impressive records but generally had lower performance in 2022 compared to 2021.Research limitations/implicationsThis study covers only Cavendish banana grower cooperatives particularly located in the Southeastern part of Mindanao (CDA, 2021) in the Philippines where people are mostly of similar culture. This does not represent much diverse culture; thus, this may work only in organizations with similar culture. In other industries or organizations where cultural diversity occurs, there may be a need to conduct study to determine the level of adoption of BEMs by the cooperatives. On the other note, the samples are very limited that generalizability cannot be made. Conducting a similar study involving many cooperatives is suggested.Originality/valueThis study explores the alignment of the Strategic Plans of the Cavendish banana grower cooperatives to BEMs which has long been neglected.

Maximising the potential of National Cancer Mission Hub-like structures: A SWOT analysis approach

Abstract Cancer is a significant and urgent concern in public health, particularly in the context of an aging population like in Europe. It is estimated that new cancer cases will increase by 21% by 2040 in Europe. With the ambition of improving the lives of 3 million people by 2030, the European Commission launched 2 major initiatives: Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan (EBCP) and the Mission on Cancer (MoC). The EBCP is a policy-driven initiative aimed at supporting Member States in addressing the whole cancer continuum. It is supported by the MoC, a research driven initiative. Member States are implementing the EBCP and MoC in a way that fits their national contexts. This can take different forms, such as ‘cancer hub,’ ‘mirror group,’ or other similar structures. The role of these entities can vary, ranging from purely coordinating activities to involving more technical work. We performed a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis with different national mission-hub-like (NCMH-like) structures to explore their strategic positioning. We collected results from 6 countries (Belgium, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Poland, and Sweden) as part of the EU project ECHoS on setting NCMHs. Participants perceived that formal government endorsement, existing stakeholder mapping, and good stakeholder engagement as strengths for the structure. Whilst, they identified overlap with other ongoing initiatives and low stakeholder engagement as weaknesses that need to be addressed, the future of existing structures could be threatened by financial and human resources as well changing political landscape. National, regional alignment and the leverage of EU funding were recurrent opportunities to build on. Ultimately, NCMH-like structures can be leveraged to achieve national and European alignment on cancer initiatives, if they succeed in building a sustainable financial and governance structure. Key messages • National Cancer Mission Hub-like structures can build on existing initiatives to support the implementation of EU cancer initiatives if they achieve sustainable financial and governance structures. • SWOT framework is a good tool for a comprehensive overview of the strategic positioning of National Cancer Mission Hub-like structures in different European countries.

Agribusiness Prospects of Kachai Lemon Produced in Ukhrul District of Manipur, India: Status, Issues and Way Forward

Kachai lemon (Citrus jambhiri Lush.) is a variety of citrus, known for its rich nutritional and medicinal benefits due to its high flavonoid content and ascorbic acid. It has played a significant role in enhancing the socio-economic development of the tribal communities by generating income and employment opportunities. The Geographical Indication (GI) tag awarded to Kachai lemon has increased its commercial cultivation and market value. This recognition and growing attention have led to the emergence of agripreneurs and farmer producer organizations (FPOs) for production, value addition and marketing of Kachai lemon in an organized manner. The present study is aimed to compile the success stories, challenges of farmers and explore various Kachai lemon brands available on online platforms. A SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and Threats) analysis on production and marketing of kachai lemon was performed. For the study, descriptive analysis was carried out to assess its potential, current status and challenges. The study suggests that in order to compete globally, it is crucial to develop strong post-harvest processing and marketing systems with support from agencies and institutions to provide valuable resources and market linkages to enhance efficiency and gain economic benefits.

Construction of a Multi-Level Strategic System for Cultivating Cultural Industry Management Talents in Colleges and Universities

Through SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats) and PEST (political, economic, social, and technological) analysis, this study discusses the construction of a multi-level strategic system for the cultivation of cultural industry management talents in colleges and universities. First of all, based on SWOT analysis, it is found that colleges and universities have rich educational resources and policy support, but they face challenges such as insufficient practical teaching and intensified international competition. External opportunities come from the rapid development of the cultivation of cultural industry management talents and policy promotion, while threats come from global market competition and talent flow. Secondly, PEST analysis reveals the key factors in the macro-environment: at the political level, the state vigorously supports the cultivation of cultural industry management talents; at the economic level, the market demand for cultural industries is strong; at the social level, the public cultural consumption is upgraded; at the technological level, digital transformation promotes industry innovation. On this basis, this paper puts forward a multi-level strategic system covering theoretical education, practical skill improvement, interdisciplinary integration, and international vision training. The system aims to solve the problems existing in talent training in colleges and universities and cultivate high-quality cultural industry management talents with theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and global vision, so as to adapt to the increasingly complex and diversified cultural industry management talents market demand and promote the long-term development of the industry.

Promoting the use of geopolymer and alkali-activated materials through the identification of critical factors and strategies

Geopolymers (GP) and alkali-activated materials (AAMs) technology are emerging as eco-friendly and sustainable alternatives to traditional binders like Ordinary Portland cement (OPC), offering significant environmental benefits. Despite more than four decades of research and development, the commercial exploitation of GP and AAMs remains unrealised. In an attempt from this research paper to identify key success factors and limitations of this technology and propose strategies to exploit the available opportunities and address significant challenges hindering the widespread adoption of GP and AAMs in the global green construction market. The following comprehensive approach was undertaken to achieve the aforementioned objectives, this involved a thorough critical literature review and the formulation of a triple SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) - Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) - TOWS hybrid analysis. The results demonstrate that GP and AAMs are promising materials highlighting strengths derived from their remarkable performance and durability properties, as well as the potential opportunities for GP and AAMs to reduce the environmental impact by using by-products, particularly local ones “zero-kilometre”, aligns with the objectives of sustainability and the circular economy, compared to conventional materials. However, the findings confirm experts’ positive assessments of GP and AAMs technology, several barriers that could critically threaten their development and implementation. These barriers include the absence of standards, design complexity, feasibility and performance of the final product dependent on variation factors, and handling difficulties. Finally, a set of strategies has been established to implement GP and AAMs by encouraging adoption through the implementation of a regulatory framework supported by the government. These strategies include developing local codes and test methods, providing economic incentives, fostering cooperative research globally, and organizing awareness campaigns. This article will help to provide a solid foundation for future research aimed at resolving controversial issues related to the implementation of GP and AAMs technology and promoting a positive perception of GP and AAMs among all stakeholders and decision-makers.

Strategic insights for sustainable tourism development in Kashmir Valley: SWOT and QSPM analysis

Promoting sustainable tourism entails fostering environmentally responsible growth that endures, achieving a delicate balance between honoring the rich history, preserving culture, and navigating the challenges posed by diverse altitudes in the Kashmir Valley. A knowledge test was created to measure the stakeholders' understanding of sustainable tourism to guide further analysis with the selected stakeholders. Our research delved into this objective by conducting real-world analysis, including questionnaires and interviews with key stakeholders. A Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix (QSPM) was utilized and built on the foundation of the SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) framework to drive sustainable tourism effectively. The results underscore the intricate landscape the valley operates within, revealing varied levels of stakeholder satisfaction across different aspects. Understanding these nuanced perspectives is crucial to charting a sustainable course for the region. In this light, the existing strategies aimed at managing the area, with a focal point on promoting sustainable tourism. The emphasis is on recognizing and tackling the challenges while seizing the weaknesses and threats that could impact the industry's reputation for excellent service and environmental stewardship. It is about aligning strategies to ensure a harmonious coexistence between tourism growth and the natural, cultural, and social fabric of this adorable valley.

Identification of optimal waste-to-energy strategies for sustainable development in Iran: SWOT analysis, hybrid MCDM methods, and game theory

The growing global focus on environmental sustainability and the pressing need for efficient waste management and energy crisis mitigation have prompted extensive investigations into sustainable waste management strategies. Given Iran's economic development and population growth, the country faces challenges in energy supply and waste management, making waste-to-energy (WtE) applications a promising solution for sustainable waste management. This study employs a combination of SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis, Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) approaches, and game theory to explore WtE technologies and processes, evaluate their applicability within Iran's context, and identify the most effective WtE strategies for the country. Furthermore, game theory and fuzzy Shapley value analysis were utilized to determine the optimal combination of WtE development strategies. The strategy player “SO” held the highest position of power, with a fuzzy Shapley value of (0.391, 1.744, 3.264), resulting in the identification of the optimal strategy combination of SO2ST2WO1WT2, with a value of (0.429, 0.679, 0.893). The recommended combination emphasizes landfill with gas capture, development of incineration power plants, and integrated resource recovery through residue-derived fuel (RDF) implementation. Achieving these objectives necessitates energy policy reforms, pricing adjustments, improvements in the energy subsidy system, and infrastructure and market development.

The Ukrainian aviation industry is undergoing digital transformation; however, the pace remains behind global and European standards due to several challenges. These include limited funding, a lack of skilled IT professionals, and a slow rate of modern technology adoption. The research, titled "Optimizing IT Project Management in Ukraine’s Aviation Sector: Challenges, Opportunities, and Strategic Insights," addresses the urgent need for improvements in IT project management to enhance efficiency, competitiveness, and technological advancement within the aviation sector in Ukraine. This article analyzes the sector's current challenges, including insufficient government and private sector investment, internet infrastructure issues, and a shortage of IT specialists. It also identifies opportunities in areas like automation, digitization, and the potential for public-private collaborations. The study's primary objective is to develop and evaluate an optimal IT project management framework tailored to Ukraine’s aviation industry. This framework aims to optimize resource usage, integrate modern technologies like AI, automation, and cybersecurity, and improve global competitiveness. Furthermore, the research offers a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis of Ukraine’s aviation IT landscape, benchmarking it against European standards. A substantial gap exists between Ukraine and Europe regarding IT investment and automation, with European countries leading in adopting AI-driven systems, enhanced cybersecurity, and automated business and customer service processes. To bridge this divide, the study proposes an optimized IT project management model focused on strategic priorities such as investment in skill development, strengthening public-private partnerships, enhancing cybersecurity, implementing agile work methods, and supporting innovation through government initiatives. In conclusion, the study underscores that enhancing IT project management in Ukraine’s aviation industry is crucial for maintaining global competitiveness and improving operational efficiency. The proposed model offers actionable insights to address current challenges while capitalizing on new opportunities, thereby ensuring resilience in the face of ongoing global digitization and technological advancements.

The analysis is based on a single-case study. Furthermore, it evaluates inherent advantages and disadvantages of these innovative approaches, together with potential advantages and risks in the market. This study offers a thorough analysis of the innovative tool, i.e., CoCoCut's areas of expertise, which can help in identifying numerous possibilities for expanding its business. Moreover, it offers a comprehensive comprehension of CoCoCut's vulnerabilities and discerns prospective hazards that pertinent stakeholders may encounter in future. Having this comprehension is crucial for effectively navigating the intricacies of the market and taking advantage of advancements. To conclude, this study emphasizes need for adopting creative methods in coconut processing and advancing a more competitive and sustainable coconut sector. The invention and utilization of this groundbreaking instrument have several substantial economic ramifications. This cutting-edge gadget enhances the efficiency of coconut peeling, resulting in boost in output. It is advisable to utilize this instrument to enhance distribution network by forming strategic alliances with industry and trade firms, thereby expanding its reach in the worldwide market.

Análise SWOT de uma experiência de estágio em Medicina Geral e Familiar na ilha de São Vicente em Cabo Verde

A 3-week internship at a health center in Cape Verde allowed a reflective analysis of the situation of Primary Health Care in the country. This experience is presented using the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT) analysis and an integrative literature review. The authors identified strengths (organization of appointments, accessibility to Nutrition and Psychology care, training of family doctors), weaknesses (child health surveillance, maternal health and family planning mostly carried out without the support of medical staff; lack of computerization; underuse of physical and human resources; shortage of materials; unavailability of certain medicines; the need to evacuate complex cases), opportunities (young population, openness to educational actions, growing interest of foreign doctors in doing internships in the country) and threats (geography, non-free family planning, socioeconomic conditions, cultural particularities). The authors hope that this study will contribute to a constructive approach that will help improve healthcare in Cape Verde.

Inclusivity Strategy: Swot Analysis For Disabled-Friendly Batik Solo Trans (BST) Shelter

Batik Solo Trans (BST) is completed with shelter to increase passenger mobility, but it hasn’t able to attract people of Surakarta for using public transportation. BST shelter was obtained that the ramp was steep, narrow space for wheelchair users and there were no loudspeakers. It can be seen that the BST shelter is not disabled-friendly and must be analyzed for continuous improvement to become a disabled-friendly shelter. This study aims to analyze the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) of disabled-friendly BST shelter. Inclusive BST shelters are a vital component of a public transportation system that supports mobility for all levels of society including people with disabilities. Competitive strategies that can be implemented to make a disabled-friendly BST shelter are grouped into innovation strategies, socialization strategies and development strategies. By implementing these strategies, the designed BST shelter will be sustainable and disabled-friendly. It can be concluded that public transportation with comfortable, safe, affordable and disabled-friendly is a must for all user needs.

Participatory analysis of disaster risk creation in Brazilian coastal cities: bridging remote sensing and citizen generated data

Purpose This paper aimed to develop a participatory methodology to analyze the disaster risk creation in coastal cities, based on an approach that combines social, urban, environmental and disaster risk elements. Design/methodology/approach The methodology uses some aspects of three theoretical approaches in a complementary way: i) the Pressure and Release (PAR) framework for the identification of dynamic pressures that contribute to disaster risk creation; ii) the application of Drivers, Pressure, State, Impact, Response (DPSIR) framework to analyze environmental dimensions; and iii) urban analysis, applying the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) tool to classify urban processes. The methodology combined the use of satellite remote sensing data to analyze the urban sprawl and citizen science methods to collect social and environmental data, using the case study of the watershed of the Juqueriquerê River in the coastal city of Caraguatatuba, Brazil. The pilot project was part of a local university extension project of the undergraduate course on Architecture and Urban Planning and also engaged residents and city hall representatives. Findings The satellite remote sense data analysis indicated a continuous urban sprawl between 1985 and 2020, especially in the south of the Juqueriquerê watershed, reducing urban drainage and increasing the extension and water depth of urban flooding and riverine floods. Using citizen science methods, undergraduates identified settlements with limited economic resources to elevate houses and a lack of infrastructure to promote a resilient coastal city. After identifying the dynamic pressures that contribute to disaster risk creation and the weaknesses and strengths of a resilient city, undergraduate students proposed urban planning interventions and gray and green infrastructure projects to mitigate disaster risks. Social implications The paper identifies urban sprawl in disaster-prone areas as one of the risk factors contributing to disaster. It also comprehensively analyzes differences between different zones in the Juqueriqere River, which will be useful for policy-making. Originality/value The method presented an interdisciplinary approach that used satellite remote sensing data and citizen science techniques to analyze disaster risks in coastal cities. The multidimensional approach used to evaluate risks is useful and can be replicated in other similar studies to gain a more comprehensive understanding of disaster risks.

Explaining the Current Status of General Medicine Curriculum from the Perspective of Cancer Education Based on SWOT Analysis

Introduction: Given the rapid advancements in the field of medicine, it is essential to review current status of curricula both quantitatively and qualitatively. The present study aims to determine the current status of general medical curriculum with a focus on cancer-related topics and education based on Strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT)analysis. Methods: This qualitative phenomenological study was conducted during the academic year 2022-2023 at Babol University of Medical Sciences, Babol, Iran. The study population consisted of 12 experts specialized in higher education, medical education, basic sciences, preclinical education, general medicine internships, oncology, and medical education experts, whom were selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through document reviews and expert panel discussions, and were analyzed using SWOT analysis. Results: The results indicated that the existence of a national curriculum was identified as a strength, while the absence of an independent syllabus for cancer education was recognized as a weakness. In terms of opportunities, the implementation of transformation and innovation programs in medical education and the possibility of localizing curricula by universities were positively evaluated. However, student dissatisfaction with the quality of clinical cancer education and the theoretical and practical knowledge deficiencies of graduates in this area were identified as threats. Conclusion: To enhance the effectiveness and foster innovation in policy-making, cancer education, and clinical care, and to prepare future professionals, academic specialists and medical education authorities must leverage evidence-based strategies and academic experiences to purposefully integrate interdisciplinary collaboration in teaching cancer-related educational content into the general medical curriculum.

A Defence SOE Holding was formed called Defence Industry Indonesia (Defend ID) and PT Dahana (Persero) is one of the 4 (four) companies incorporated in this holding. To achieve Defend ID's target of becoming a Top 50 Defence Global Company, PT Dahana implements strategic management to increase its competitiveness and become a major player in the global defence industry. PT Dahana faces strategic challenges in the defence industry both at the internal, national and global levels. This research article uses a qualitative method with a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) framework, with the aim of obtaining a systematic assessment of PT Dahana's internal and external strategic factors. The research results obtained are that PT Dahana can utilize its strengths to overcome weaknesses and threats and take advantage of existing opportunities. By continuously strengthening strategies and innovations, PT Dahana is expected to continue to maintain and improve its position in the future.
