The Effect of Profitability on Company Value with Dividend Policy as a Moderating Variable

This research aims to provide empirical evidence of the influence of profitability on company value with dividend policy as a moderating variable. The population of this research is all consumer goods sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2017 – 2022. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling technique and obtained as many as114 number of observations. This study uses the Statistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS) program with Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) as a tool to analyze the moderating effect of dividend policy on the sample tested. The results of the analysis provide evidence that profitability has a positive effect on company value. Furthermore, dividend policy is unable to moderate profitability on company value.

Abstract- This research aims to examine the effect of implementing government accounting standards, implementing regional management information systems and human resource competence on the quality of regional government financial reports. This type of research is quantitative. The data collection technique in this research uses questionnaires directly to respondents. The respondents in this study were employees of the Madiun City Regional Revenue Agency. Data analysis was carried out using multiple linear regression analysis with the SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solution) version 25 for Windows program. The results of the hypothesis research show that the Implementation of Government Accounting Standards variable is 0.022, the Regional Management Information System Implementation variable is 0.004, the Human Resources Competency variable is 0.031 and the Adjusted R Square shows a value of 0.626 or 62.6%. The results of this research show that the implementation of government accounting standards has a positive influence on the quality of regional government financial reports, the implementation of regional management information systems has a positive influence on the quality of regional government financial reports, and human resource competence has a positive influence on the quality of regional government financial reports.

Influence of Motivation and Work Environment on Employee Performance

This study aims to analyze the impact of motivation and work environment on employee performance. It employs Descriptive and Verification Methods. The data source utilized in this study consists of a questionnaire administered to employees of a fashion firm located in Bandung. The research has a sample size of 35 respondents. The research employs Descriptive and Verification Methods as its statistical methodologies. The initial step involves employing Correlation Data Analysis, Path Analysis, and Coefficient of Determination Analysis, with assistance from the SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solution) program version 26. After conducting a comprehensive study of the data collected, the Motivation, Work Environment, and Employee Performance at a fashion company in Bandung are categorized as somewhat reasonable. The R Square number indicates that it is 75.5%. Employee Performance is primarily influenced by Motivation and Work Environment, accounting for 75.5% of the overall impact. The remaining 24.5% is attributed to unexplored factors. In addition, Motivation has a lesser impact, accounting for 42.3% of the total influence, in contrast to the Work Environment, which has a total influence of 50.6%. Companies should prioritize creating a conducive work atmosphere while striving to optimize Motivation in a fashion company in Bandung.

Identifying the Probable Etiology of Acute Undifferentiated Fever through Inflammatory Markers.

Acute undifferentiated fever (AUF) is defined as any febrile illness with a duration of ≤14 days without evidence of localized infection. Most outpatient services and a significant inpatient load in India are contributed by AUF. COVID-19 has recently added to the existing list of common etiologies of AUF. While the rapid diagnostic test (RDT) kits, which are widely used for the detection of common etiologies of AUF, are unreliable, the rise of various inflammatory markers may help identify the probable etiology. This not only results in better diagnosis but also prepares the physician for close monitoring and pooling of resources. To identify the probable etiology of AUF through inflammatory markers. To understand the clinical and biochemical parameters as possible predictors of adverse outcomes in AUF. This was a prospective observational study carried out in the Department of Medicine in a tertiary care hospital. The total duration of the study was 1 year. A total of 400 AUF patients [both outpatient department (OPD) and inpatient department (IPD)] fulfilling the eligibility criteria were taken up for the study after consent. Various inflammatory markers, namely erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), C-reactive protein (CRP), D-dimer, ferritin, and procalcitonin levels along with basic blood and biochemical tests were measured in all qualifying patients at their first visit. The level of rise of all the measured inflammatory markers was analyzed for clues toward identifying the etiology. Also, the possible predictors of adverse outcomes, as defined in the study, were analyzed. Outcome variables are described as mean ± standard deviation. All statistical calculations were done using computer programs Microsoft Excel 2007 (Microsoft Corporation, New York, United States of America) and SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solutions; SPSS Inc., United States of America) version 21. The common etiologies in our study contributing to AUF were dengue (31.5%), COVID-19 (18.5%), enteric fever (12.7%), scrub typhus (9.0%), and malaria (6.0%). In 76 cases (19%), the fever was undiagnosed. Enteric fever had highly elevated CRP (>30 mg/L) and moderately elevated D-dimer, ferritin, and procalcitonin. Both nonsevere dengue and COVID-19 had highly elevated D-dimer (>750 ng/mL), but in nonsevere dengue, CRP, ferritin, and procalcitonin were only mildly elevated, whereas in COVID-19, CRP and ferritin were moderately elevated with mildly elevated procalcitonin. Scrub typhus had highly elevated CRP and ferritin [more than four times the upper limit of normal (ULN)], but D-dimer and procalcitonin were only mildly elevated. The mean serum procalcitonin level in enteric fever is significantly higher than the other etiologies of AUF. Our study was correctly able to identify 90.8% of nonsevere dengue, 87.8% of typhoid, 83.6% of COVID-19, and 91.4% of scrub typhus patients based on the inflammatory markers level. Obesity, diabetes (both types 1 and 2), hypertension, coronary artery disease (CAD), malignancy, chronic kidney disease (CKD), and chronic lung disease were significantly associated with adverse outcomes. A significant delay in visiting the hospital after the onset of fever was found in all etiologies of AUF, which had adverse outcomes. Our study is one of the few studies comparing the rise in the level of various inflammatory markers among the common etiologies of AUF. The novelty of the study is that it aids in identifying the probable etiology of AUF with good confidence through the levels of inflammatory markers. Also, our study highlights the high-risk factors associated with adverse outcomes in AUF.

Influence of Rice Straw Ash on Workability and Strength of Concrete

Cement manufacturing is a major contributor to the waste of energy as about 3.4GJ of thermal energy is needed to produce 1 tonne of Portland cement, not to mention the emissions of greenhouse gases like carbon di oxide due to the calcination of limestone during Portland cement production. These emissions have caused a dramatic rise in global warming. There is a pressing need for innovative recycling technology that can reduce the negative effects of waste on ecosystems and people. Rice straws are the waste produced after the threshing of rice. The goal of this study is to investigate the influence of rice straw ash on workability and strength of concrete. The rice straw used was the straw of a specific rice variety locally called mass I gotten from Akpugo, Enugu, Nigeria. The rice straw was calcined by open burning to produce the rice straw ash (RSA). The materials used were preliminary tested to determine their physical properties and chemical composition. The rice straw ash was used to replace Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) at 0, 5, 10, 15, 20 and 30% respectively. The workability and compressive strength test were done for all replacement levels. Using slump test, the concrete workability was evaluated. For this study, 72 cubes were cast, cured in water for 7, 14, 21, and 28days before been tested under compression. From the investigation, percentage increase in RSA replacement decreased the concrete workability. The sample containing 0%, 5%, and 10% RSA attained 9%, 6.1% and 2.2% more strength compared to the design strength at 28th day of curing. While the 15%, 20% and 30% attained 17.3%, 28.9% and 67.6% lower strength compared to the design strength at 28th day of curing. The experimental result was analysed using statistical product and service solution (SPSS) and excel spreadsheet regression (ESR). This study suggests that the optimum replacement level of rice straw ash from structural reinforced grade 25 concrete point of view is 10%. The predictive models were tested and found to be adequate.

This study aims to examine and analyze the effect of liquidity, solvency and profitability on stock returns in Manufacturing companies in the Food and Beverage sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2017-2021. The population in this study were 21 companies in the Food and Beverage sector. The technique used in sampling in this study was purposive sampling, and a total sample of 12 companies was obtained. The analytical method used in this study is a quantitative analysis method using Microsoft Excel 2010 as a data tabulation tool and Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS) version 21 as a tool used to test research data. The data used in this study is secondary data taken from the annual financial reports of Manufacturing companies in the Food and Beverage sector listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the 2017-2021 research period which can be accessed through the official website, namely www.idx.co. id, and other journals or articles related to this research. The results of this study indicate that liquidity as measured by CR has a negative and insignificant effect on stock returns, solvability as measured by (DER) has a negative and insignificant effect on stock returns, and profitability as measured by (ROA) has a positive and significant effect on returns. share.

An Analysis of COVID-19 Statistics in Rivers State, Nigeria: A Study of Demographic Patterns, Geographic Distribution, and Prevalent Symptoms from April 2020 to March 2021

Introduction: Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an acute infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus which is characterized mainly by fever and cough and is capable of progressing to severe symptoms and in some cases death. Aims: To analyze COVID-19 statistics in Rivers State, Nigeria, during the specified period to contribute to the broader understanding of the epidemiology of COVID-19 in the region. Methodology: Study Design: A cross-sectional study was conducted involving the retrieval of secondary data. Place and Duration of Study: The study was carried out at the Epidemiology Division of the Rivers State Department of Public Health, Ministry of Health, in December 2022. Participants: A total of 6,299 patients recorded between April 2020 to March 2021 in the Epidemiology Unit were included in the study. Patients with incomplete data were excluded from the analysis. Data Collection and Analysis: Secondary data recorded in Excel format was retrieved from the Epidemiology Unit of the Rivers State Ministry of Health. The data was then exported to IBM Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS) version 25 for analysis. Frequencies were generated and reported in tabular format. Ethical Considerations: Ethical approval for the study was obtained from the Ethics Committee of the State Ministry of Health Board, Port Harcourt, ensuring compliance with ethical standards in research and the University of Port Harcourt Ethics Committee to the State Hospital Board. Results: The mortality rate stood at 1.4%. Port Harcourt Local Government Area (LGA) accounted for approximately two-thirds of all infections, while nearly one-third originated from Obio/Akpor LGA. Among those infected, 17.4% reported a history of travel, while 1% had attended a burial before contracting the virus. Symptomatic presentation was prevalent, with four out of every five confirmed cases (76.9%) experiencing various symptoms, with sore throat emerging as a common presentation alongside fever and other symptoms. Significant disparities were observed concerning the sex and age distribution of infections (p < 0.0001). Males were more affected than females, and individuals within the age groups of 31-40 and 41-50 constituted three-fifths of the total infections. Conclusion: As the COVID-19 pandemic unfolded, a notable shift in infection rates emerged, highlighting a trend where younger demographics, notably women, became increasingly susceptible. Despite initial perceptions of heightened severity and mortality among older males, nuanced analysis revealed diverse vulnerabilities across gender and age spectrums. Occupational exposures, biological variations, and behavioural disparities all contributed to the observed gender discrepancies in infection rates and outcomes. Furthermore, the urban landscape, with its higher population density and increased mobility, served as a catalyst for the rapid spread of the virus, albeit impacting genders in differing proportions. Moreover, the varied presentation of symptoms, with sore throat emerging as a prevalent feature alongside fever and other manifestations, underscores the necessity for tailored public health interventions.

Prevalence of Urinary Tract Infections and Antibiogram of Bacteria Isolated From Children With Sickle Cell Disease in Tanzania.

Introduction Individuals with sickle cell disease (SCD) are particularly vulnerable to urinary tract infections (UTIs) due to immunological deficits and renal abnormalities associated with the disorder. These infections can exacerbate underlying health issues and lead to severe complications if not managed promptly and effectively. Due to the heightened risk and potential consequences of UTIs in this population, this study aimed to determine their prevalence and explore the resistance patterns of causative pathogens among children attending the SCD Clinic at Muhimbili National Hospital (MNH), Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Focusing on this demographic group, we sought to provide targeted insights to inform better clinical protocols and intervention strategies in regions heavily affected by SCD. Materials and methods This prospective cross-sectional study was conducted at the MNH, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, with an enrollment over two months from 19th March to 21st May 2015. We diagnosed UTIs in children with SCD using dipstick and culture methods. Antibiotic susceptibility was assessed using the Kirby-Bauer disc diffusion method, evaluating resistance patterns to antibiotics such as ampicillin, cloxacillin, erythromycin, chloramphenicol, ceftriaxone, and trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole. The diagnostic accuracy of the dipstick and culture methods was validated to ensure reliability in detecting UTIs. Statistical analysis was conducted using Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS) software (Released 2019; IBM Corp., Armonk, New York, United States). Results Among the 250 children, 56 (22.4%) were UTI-positive according to the culture method and 62 (24.8%) were UTI-positive according to the dipstick test. Girls were more likely to be UTI-positive than boys (29.1% and 13.6%, respectively; p-value = 0.011). Escherichia coli was the most common uropathogen, followed by Klebsiella, Staphylococcus, Proteus, and Pseudomonas (44.2%, 26.9%, 21.2%, 3.8%, and 1.9%, respectively). All isolates were resistant to ampiclox. Resistance rates to ampicillin, erythromycin, cotrimoxazole, chloramphenicol, and ceftriaxone were 94.2%, 76.9%, 59.6%, 46.2%, and 21.2%, respectively. Conclusion This study indicated that dipsticks diagnosed more UTIs. The prevalence was higher in girls than in boys. Escherichia coli was the most commonly isolated antibiotic-resistant organism. High resistance levels were observed against the combination of ampicillin and cloxacillin. However,the isolates were less resistant to ceftriaxone. These results call for increased surveillance of resistant uropathogens in the pediatric population with SCD.

PENGARUH UKURAN PERUSAHAAN, NILAI PERUSAHAAN, FINANCIAL LEVERAGE, NPM DAN PROFITABILITAS TERHADAP PERATAAN LABA

The aim of the study was to examine the effect of firm size, firm value, financial leverage, net profit margin and profitability on income smoothing practices in manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 208-2020. From several sample selection criteria, 35 companies were selected by purposive sampling method that met the criteria. Processing research data using logistic regression analysis which is processed using SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solution) edition 26. The results shows that company size, financial leverage, net profit margin and profitability have no effect on income smoothing, while firm value has a negative effect to income smoothing. The implication of this study is for investors to be more thorough and critical in assessing the company's performance, especially from the financial side in making investment decisions.

FAKTOR – FAKTOR YANG MEMPENGARUHI TAX AVOIDANCE PADA PERUSAHAAN MANUFAKTUR DI BEI

This research aims to find out how the value of profitability, leverage and sales growth on tax avoidance in manufacturing companies listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2018-2020. This research uses a purposive sampling method based on data that matches the criteria are 49 companies. The data processing technique uses multiple regression analysis assisted by the SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solution) for windows released 16 and Microsoft Excel 2007. The results of this research indicate that there is a significant influence between profitability, leverage and sales growth on tax avoidance. The implication of this research is that there is a tendency for companies to take tax avoidance actions which are caused by high levels of profitability, leverage and sales growth. This is done to maximize the company’s net profit.

Elucidating reaction mechanisms in the oxidative depolymerization of sodium lignosulfonate for enhancing vanillin production: A Density Functional Theory study

Lignin is a vital organic constituent of plant biomass and it can be transformed into value-added chemicals through chemical processes. This study employs the Density Functional Theory (DFT) to investigate the mechanistic effects of various oxidants on the depolymerization of sodium lignosulfonate model compounds into vanillin. Under alkaline conditions, OH- ions participation in the hydrolysis of β-O-4 bonds has been predicted. The dehydration of dihydroconiferyl alcohol to form eugenol, with an energy barrier of 69.0 kcal/mol was identified as the major rate-determining step in the oxidation reaction. In the absence of an oxidant, the energy barrier for the oxidation of eugenol to vanillin was 77.8 kcal/mol. However, when using nitrobenzene or H2O2 as oxidants, the energy barrier has significantly decreased to 12.6 kcal/mol and 21.4 kcal/mol, respectively. The effects of temperature and pressure on the rate-determining step of the reaction were analyzed using Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS) software. These results have demonstrated that the energy barrier for the hydrolysis reaction's rate-determining step is positively correlated with temperature but negatively correlated with pressure. These theoretical findings would potentially help in designing the experiments and aid in enhancing the selectivity and yield of vanillin.

This research is a quantitative descriptive study aimed at determining and analyzing the Influence of Conflict and Stress on Employee Performance at the Regional Water Company (PDAM) in Service Area II of Makassar City. The data collection methods used in this research were observation, questionnaires, and documentation. The population and sample used in this research consisted of 52 respondents, with the data analysis method being multiple linear regression analysis processed using Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS) Version 27. Regarding the influence of conflict and stress on the permormance at PDAM Employess in service area II of Makassar City which was discussed in the previous chapters, the author draws the important conclusion that conflict and stress have a positive and significant on the permormance.

This study aims to examine the effect of work experience, job training, and perceptions on the effectiveness of regional financial information systems. This type of research is quantitative. Data collection techniques in this study used questionnaires directly to respondents. Respondents in this study were employees of Badan Keuangan dan Aset Daerah Madiun City. Data analysis was performed using multiple linear regression analysis with the SPSS (Statistical Product and Service Solution) version 25 for windows program. The results of the research hypothesis show that the independent variable work experience is 0.026, the independent variable job training is 0.000, the perception variable is 0.004, and the simultaneous test shows a significance value of 0.000. The results of this study indicate that work experience has a positive effect on the effectiveness of regional financial information systems, job training has a positive effect on the effectiveness of regional financial information systems, and perceptions have a positive effect on the effectiveness of regional financial information systems, as well as work experience, job training, and perceptions simultaneously have an effect on the effectiveness of regional financial information systems. Based on the results of this study, it is hoped that the Badan Keuangan dan Aset Daerah of Madiun City will continue to improve training programs for employees and instill positive perceptions in order to provide good output in terms of the effectiveness of the regional financial information system.

The Effects of Discounts and Bonus Packs on Impulse Buying for Consumers of Ramayana Flobamora Mall Kupang

This research aims to determine the effect of discounts and bonus packs on unplanned purchasing behavior (impulse buying) among consumers of Ramayana Flobamora Mall Kupang. The type of research used in this research is a quantitative research method with an associative approach. The population in this research are consumers who have made purchases at Ramayana Flobamora Mall Kupang. The sampling technique was carried out using purposive sampling, obtaining a sample of 117 people. Data was collected using a questionnaire, then analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis with the help of Statistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS) 22.0 for Windows. Based on analysis tests on research results, the following results can be obtained: (1) discounts (X1) partially have a significant effect on impulse buying as evidenced by the t-count value of 7.409 > t-table 1.980 and the significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, (2) The bonus pack (X2) partially has no significant effect on impulse buying as evidenced by the t-count value of 1.302 < t-table 1.980 and the significance value of 0.195 > 0.05, (3) discount (X1) and bonus pack (X2) simultaneously (altogether) influence consumer impulse buying at Ramayana Flobamora Mall Kupang with an F-count value of 53.990 > F-table 3.08 and a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05.

The role of moderation family ownership control in corporate governance mechanisms for earning management in group companies in Indonesia

The purpose of this study is to examine and analyze the effect of corporate governance on earnings management with ownership control as a moderating factor. The object of this study is issuer group companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The sampling method used was purposive sampling. The method of data analysis in this study is Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS) using the SPSS Statistics 24 program. The results of this study are The Corporate Governance moderated by family control has a significant effect on earnings management. The number of families who own shares as well as occupy positions in the company reinforces the influence of management decisions on earnings management. The contribution of this study strengthens the theory and previous research.

The Correlation between the Awareness of the Dangers in Smartphone Radiation and Sleep Quality among High School Students in Thailand

Despite smartphones’ critical benefits in several aspects of living in this generation, their emissions of radiation exert profound effects on the physical health of the affected individuals, including heightened risks of cancer as well as increased fibroblast activity of the skin. The aim of this study endeavors to determine the correlation between awareness of the dangers in utilizing smartphones before bed and sleep quality among high school students, to raise consciousness of the perils of smartphone radiation, and to observe sleep qualities among high school students. Through previous research, it was hypothesized that awareness of the dangers in smartphone radiation would negatively impact the sleep quality of the participants due to the negative ramifications of the radiation. To verify whether this also implies an impact on the Thai population, data were collected using a cross-sectional method with random samples of both Thai and international high school students. The information was later analyzed via Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS). The results indicate a robust correlation between dangers in smartphone’s radiation and sleep quality (p = 0.451**), grade and sleep quality (p = 0.003*), and age and sleep quality (p = 0.002*). Moreover, a strong correlation between grade and sleep quality, as well as age and sleep quality, can be inferred that grade and age correlate with the amount of stress within individuals, having a negative effect on individuals’ sleep quality. Retrospective Analysis of Cancer Cervix at Awal Bros Batam Hospital in 2020-2022

Aims: This research aims to determine the characteristics of cervical cancer patients at Awal Bros Hospital, Batam, in 2020-2022. It also aims to create awareness of vaccination. This research used medical records from a sample of 97 people. Methodology: This research is non-experimental with a retrospective analytical descriptive design using secondary data from medical records of cervical cancer patients at Awal Bros Hospital, Batam, in 2020-2022 in August 2023. The sample in this study was selected from a population that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria, namely 97 people. The research instrument used in this study was medical records of cervical cancer patients at Awal Bros Hospital, Batam, in 2020-2022. Data was processed using the Statistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS) program with univariate tests. The analysis results will be presented as a frequency table and percentage diagram. Results: From the research results, from the entire patient sample of 97 people aged 25-65 years, it was found that the highest percentage of cancer sufferers were aged 35-50 years, 54 people (55.7%), marital status was 96 people (99%), 51 people had a history of multiparity 3-4 times (52.6%), 49 people (50.5%) had a high school education, 72 people (74.2%) worked as housewives, 52 people had complaints of bleeding (53.6%), and 70 people had a histopathological picture of squamous cell carcinoma. (72.2%), the degree of differentiation was reasonable. As many as 43 people (44.3%) Conclusion: This study concludes that cervical cancer patients at Awal Bros Batam Hospital in 2020-2022 were mainly aged 36-50 years, with marital status, married, a history of 3-4 times multiparity, had a high school education, and worked as a housewife. Digital payments are a new technological development as financial technology (Fintech). The purpose of this study is to analyze readiness and find out influencing factors _ the level of use of OVO as a digital payment tool in the context of coffee with use TAM variable perceived usefulness (PU) , perceived ease of use (PEU), Atittude Toward Using (ATU), Behavioral Intention (BI). The analysis model of this research uses the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). Retrieval technique sample used is technique sample convenience. While the data obtained in the form of primary data because data collection is done with method spread online questionnaire. As much 50 results questionnaire accepted and all could processed by researchers. Data analysis is carried out with use technique analysis using statistical product and service solutions (SPSS) programs. The research results obtained is PU, PEU, and ATU have positive influence to BI, as well as PU and PEU have positive influence to ATU.
