Sustainable Seismic Performance of Diagrid Core-Tube Structure with Replaceable Steel Coupling Beam

The diagrid core-tube structure has been widely used in high-rise buildings in recent years, but there are few studies on the sustainable energy dissipation measures and seismic performance improvement of such structural systems. Because the coupling beam is the element connecting the inner tube and the outer tube in the diagrid structure, it is the first seismic defense line and an important energy-dissipation member in the seismic design of the overall structure. Therefore, this paper replaces the traditional reinforced concrete coupling beam of the inner tube of the shear wall with a replaceable energy-dissipation steel coupling beam, and the strength, stiffness, and stability of the replaceable steel coupling beam are designed to improve the sustainability of the structure. By changing the position of the replaceable coupling beam, the relative stiffness of the inner and outer tubes of the diagrid tube structure, and the plane form of the structure, the static elastoplastic analysis and seismic response energy analysis of different diagrid tube structures are carried out, and the influence of the replaceable coupling beam on the sustainable seismic performance of the diagrid tube structure is studied. The results show that the replaceable coupling beams have little effect on the ultimate bearing capacity of the structure, but the ductility and sustainability of the structure are significantly improved, and the whole building layout is the optimal layout scheme. The setting of replaceable coupling beams makes the diagrid tube structure show hysteretic energy-dissipation earlier under the action of large earthquakes, and the proportion of hysteretic energy-dissipation is greatly improved, which reduces the inter-story drift ratios and the damage degree of the diagrid columns under the action of large earthquakes. When the relative stiffness of the outer tube of the diagrid tube structure is small or the plane form of the structure is a regular quadrilateral, the application of replaceable coupling beams is more effective in improving the ductility and sustainability of the structure and reducing the damage to the diagrid column under large earthquakes.

Static Elastoplastic Analysis of Turbine House under Different Lateral Loading MoDES in Conventional Island of Nuclear Power Plant

Nuclear island in nuclear power plant requires that under the extreme safety shutdown earthquake action, the collapse of the turbine house of conventional island shall not affect the safety of nuclear island, so as to ensure the functional integrity of nuclear island. At present, the way to meet this requirement is to carry out elastoplastic analysis on the turbine house of the regular island under the action of the ultimate safe earthquake to ensure that it does not collapse and its deformation meets the deformation requirements of the standard rare earthquake. Structure elastic-plastic analysis method with static analysis and dynamic elastic-plastic time history analysis, in this paper, the ci turbine room nappe analyzed, and compared the five kinds of lateral load loading mode of static elastoplastic analysis results, the seismic performance of the structure, puts forward the layer shear lateral loading mode suitable for ci turbine room structure static elastoplastic analysis.

Seismic Performance Analysis of Self-Centering Concentrically Braced Steel Frame Structures

To study the seismic performance of self-centering concentrically braced frame (SC-CBF) structure, the static elastoplastic analysis, low-cycle repeated loading analysis, and elastoplastic time-history analysis were conducted for a four-story SC-CBF structure, compared with the traditionally concentrically braced frame (CBF) structure. The influences of different GAP stiffnesses and cross-sectional areas of prestressed tendon were investigated on the self-centering and seismic performance of the SC-CBF structure. The results show that the SC-CBF structure has a strong lateral resistance, a small base shear under earthquake action, and a slight residual drift after unloading. The SC-CBF structure has a better ductility than the CBF structure. The displacement of the SC-CBF structure under the action of rare and extremely rare earthquakes is large, and the structure can dissipate more energy; the interstory drift is large, but the residual drift is small, exhibiting its ideal seismic and self-centering performance. However, the mechanical behavior of prestressed tendons is significantly affected by the stiffness of the GAP. The mechanical and seismic performances of the overall structure are slightly affected by the stiffness of the GAP, but the cross-sectional area of the prestressed tendons has a remarkable influence on the overall performance of the structure.

Static elastoplastic analysis of the composite shear wall of the grid -tube- type double steel plate wall with infilled concrete

In this paper, the new idea is proposed on the composite shear wall of the grid -tube- type double steel plate wall with infilled concrete, the model test was carried out, and combined with practical engineering, for instance, a 18th floor high-rise building pushover static elastoplastic analysis is discussed. Research shows that the hysteresis curve of the new composite shear wall is relatively full, and has good seismic performance with high bearing capacity, high ductility and high energy consumption capacity. Under the action of rare earthquakes, the interlayer displacement is small on structural system with concrete filled steel tubular column and he composite shear wall of the grid -tube- type double steel plate wall with infilled concrete, and the new composite shear wall is distributed more base shear. Research shows that structural system on composite shear wall with grid -tube- type double steel plate wall with infilled concrete has good seismic performance.

Study on Static Elastoplastic Analysis of a High-Rise Frame-Shear Wall Structure

Static elastoplastic analysis is a widely used method to evaluate the seismic performance of structures. The project example in this paper is the high-rise frame-shear wall structure of the second phase (Yongsheng homeland) of the Baisha resettlement area in Zhengdong New Area. The three-dimensional integral model is used to calculate the force of the building under earthquake using the static elasto-plastic analysis method. Analysis was conducted to obtain the stress conditions of high-rise buildings against plastic deformation, and the sequence of the plastic hinges, and the unfavorable floors of the high-rise structure were identified, which provided guidance for the design of such structures.

Study on mechanical behavior and optimization of prefabricated square column H-beam outer-shell joint

In order to study the mechanical behavior of prefabricated square column H-beam outer-shell joint, outer-shell joint were designed and tested under monotonic loading. According to the test results, failure mode was revealed and load-displacement hysteretic curves were obtained. The experimental results show that the deformation from of prefabricated square column H-beam outer-shell joint was tearing at the position of stiffening rib under monotonic loading, and load-displacement hysteretic curves were smooth. Based on the test, static elasto-plastic analysis of specimen was completed with the use of finite element software. The influences of the quantity of stiffening rib, the length of stiffening rib and the quantity of connector orifices on the joint mechanical behavior were tested. Research results show that numerical analysis results and experimental results are almost the same. The outer-shell joint with double stiffening rib, lengthening of stiffening ribs, and opening three rows of holes on the connector has the maximum loading capacity and the ductility and energy consumption are moderate, which is the optimal joint of seismic performance.

Seismic response analysis of K8 pattern single-layer reticulated domes under vertical rare earthquakes

Abstract The nonlinear response of K8 pattern single-layer reticulated domes of different rise-span ratios under vertical rare earthquakes are analyzed by using the dynamic time-history analysis method and the pseudo static elasto-plastic analysis method. Comparison of these analysis results indicates that the structural members would be in different plastic deformation states under vertical rare earthquakes because of different rise-span ratios. The analysis results of the dynamic time-history method indicate that the vertical displacement response decreases with the increase of the rise-span ratio in condition of the same member section. Through the comparison the analytical results of pseudo static elasto-plastic analysis with the analytical results of dynamic time-history analysis, it is found that the difference of plastic members and region and error of the vertical displacement response, which may be a reference for future vertical seismic study of single-layer reticulated domes.

Comparative Analysis Pushover and Elastic-Plastic Time-History Method of Frame Structure with Viscous Dampers

Chinese seismic code provision, for the energy dissipation structure, when the main structure into elastic-plastic stage, the system should be based on characteristics of the main structure, the use of static elastoplastic analysis and nonlinear time history analysis methods. In this paper, the static elastoplastic and elastic-plastic time history method of analysis and comparison to speed, such as type viscous damper type damper is not applicable to the static elastoplastic analysis.

PUSHOVER Analysis in the Application of the Framework Structure Reinforcement

This paper firstly introduces the basic principle of PUSHOVER analysis and general steps of analysis. And then use the actual construction example to illustrate its application. This paper aims to evaluate the anti-seismic property through setting the parameters, building the data model and establishing the PUSHOVER conditions, and then do the static elastoplastic analysis. When the anti-seismic property of the building can not meet the necessary standard, the strengthening is needed. What is more, this paper employs the steel plate for reinforcement since its advantages.

Elastoplastic Analysis and Performance Based Design of a Super High-Rise Building

In order to get the performance of a super high-risebuilding under severe earthquake actions, a fiber-based computational model ofthis structure is established in PERFORM-3D, and both Static Elastoplastic Analysis and Elastoplastic Time-history Analysis are used to evaluate theseismic behavior of this structure. Inter-story drifts at the Performance Point obtained by Static Push-over Analysis are allsmaller than that specified in codes. And results of ElastoplasticTime-historyAnalysis show that structural displacements, shear capacity and flexuralcapacity of some key members all meet the specified performance targets. Thenthis structure is safe.

Displacement-Based Assessment of Seismic Resistance for Transfer Structure with Haunching Braces

The beam-type transfer structure has recently been well adopted in multi-purpose buildings. A new type of transfer structure with haunching braces is introduced in this paper through static elasto-plastic analysis of example structure with specific focus on its unique feature. Based of the deformation damaged criteria, seismic resistance performance for transfer structure with haunching braces is assessed. The results indicate that elastic and elasto-plastic displacement of structure under minor, medium and major seismic events designed against 7 degree seismic fortification intensity satisfy the requirement of the current standards, the structure’s damage status under minor and medium seismic events is Almost Intact and the structure’s damage status under major seismic events is Minor Damage. It can provide reference for engineering practice.

Performance-Based Pushover Analysis for Reinforced Concrete Frame

For more reasonable and convenient evaluating structure seismic performance,static elasto-plastic analysis of reinforced concrete frame is presented by pushover with different lateral load distributing modes including uniform distribution, inverted triangle distribution and self-adaption distribution adopted, custom plastic hinge, bending moment-curvity relation and bending moment-axial force correlation of each member section are acquired by Response2000, and time history analysis is used to reinforced concrete frame. It is revealed that the presented method is easy and feasiable, and can generatee stable result.

Static Elasto-Plastic Analysis of Buildings with Steel Tower on Top under Rare Earthquake

The earthquake resistant behavior of buildings with steel tower on top is different from ordinary buildings. In order to investigate the deformations, internal force and damage of structure under rare earthquake, based on a case of Shifang Telecom Building (STB) under 5.12 earthquake, the static elasto-plastic analysis is carried out. This paper compares the seismic behavior of structure under different loading cases, and studies the weakness and plastic hinge of the building. The result shows the structure can meet the requirements of non-collapse under rare earthquake, the top steel tower can amplify the seismic effect, and numerical simulation tallies with the reality.

Analysis on Aseismic Performance of the Beijing Yintai Center

In this study, the seismic behavior of the main tower building of Beijing Yintai Center is presented with regard to the dynamic characteristics analysis and seismic response analysis. Firstly, by means of three-dimensional finite element analysis software, the dynamic properties and seismic responses under frequent earthquake action of the structure are obtained, respectively. It can be seen that the structure has a rational arrangement for structural elements and has a good seismic behavior. Then, the seismic behavior of the structure is studied through the dynamic elasto-plastic analysis method and static elasto-plastic analysis method under rare earthquake. Analysis results of both analysis methods show that the behavior of the structure accords with the earthquake performance objectives and the structure would not collapse under the rare earthquake action.

The authors have been studying the column-through type RCS (reinforced concrete plus steel) joints composed of web panel with opening, cover plate and triangle stiffener. The previous paper reported the relationship between shear strength and deformation capability of the RCS joint. The present paper addresses the investigation on the influence of stresses from the steel braces upon the joints, through loading tests conducted on a two-story, two-span RCS structure with steel braces. In addition to these tests, static elasto-plastic analysis was implemented, using the shear strength and shear deformation model proposed by the authors. The study results demonstrated that the stresses from the braces do not exert significant influence on the joint behavior and the analytical results agreed very well with the experimental results.
