Introduction: Accessibility can be understood as a characteristic that promotes the interaction of all people in their singularities by physical or digital means, thus it balances the set of activities and/or opportunities for their development and social and individual deployment. In this paper, we seek to establish steps for evaluating accessibility in scientific communication websites. Methodological Procedures: This research is characterized as bibliographic and documental with results from qualitative analysis. Results: The following steps were established for evaluating accessibility in scientific communication websites: I) compliance with Web standards; II) application of accessibility guidelines or recommenda-tions; and III) completion of the accessibility evaluation. Final Considerations: The conditions that attribute accessibility to the web environment are portrayed in recommendations, standards, guidelines and laws that, throughout the research described in this article, proved to be connected to each other, providing guidance for the best adequacy and quality in the availability of information in scientific communication websites.
