Based on insight from 1265 companies in nine countries, this research confirms the innovation orientation and performance relationship in a global context, identifies crowdsourcing, open innovation, design thinking, stage-gate systems, scientific discovery, big data analytics, measuring innovation, and innovation management software as common practices of high innovators, and shows that companies' innovation orientation dimensions and overall scores differ based on country. It offers an extensive and global perspective to the research and provides managerial considerations for executives seeking to enhance firm-level innovativeness, corporate performance, and economic prosperity.
