The Implementation Of Network Management And Security Using Mikrotik And Proxy Server At SMK N 3 Seluma

The aim of this research is to carry out computer network management and security at SMK Negeri 3 Seluma by using a proxy device and a sequid proxy server as an external proxy server. The research method used in this research is PPDIO method consisting of Prepare, Plan, Design, Implement, Operate and Optimize. The hardware used to configure network management is Mikrotik Roadboard, while the software used to configure network management and security is Winbox and Squid proxy server. The results of research on the implementation of network management were the formation of a network using a proxy configuration at SMKN 3 Seluma. toward network security, filtering of social media websites and websites suspected of containing viruses can be carried out according to the design and the blocking is successful.

Development of a method for processing log files using clustering

A log file is a document that keeps track of all events that occur on a website or server. Many log files are very large, so they can be regularly written over outdated content, or entire collections of log files with names, including a date, for example, can be created. In the event of technical problems, site inaccessibility, virus infection, hacker attacks and Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks, the resource administrator can use the information in log to find the cause, which makes it easier and faster to eliminate unwanted incidents. The paper analyzes the definition, types, location, use and examples of log files. Data are transferred to the MySQL database using the Squid.db database. Clustering is performed using a database. The study highlights clustering, analyzes metrics, and determines the proximity of clusters and objects in clusters in Euclidean space. Experiments are conducted and the results are satisfactory. For example, data are transferred to the MySQL database using the Squid.db database. Since the Squid proxy server is a cache proxy server, it stores resources, and the work is done quickly on the next request. Data are clustered using a compiled table of databases transferred to MySQL via Squid proxy. In this case, unnecessary entries are deleted from the table, which significantly speeds up data processing. The application of clustering method in problem solving is fast and simple. For the problem stated, the degree of closeness of clusters and objects in clusters in Euclidean space is determined. Experiments are conducted using obtained results.

Distributed Cache with Utilizing Squid Proxy Server and LRU Algorithm

<p>In relation to the dissemination of information, the Internet is one of the fastest media to do so. The internet’s presence is growing very swiftly and rapidly, so it has become recognized by people from all walks of life. For that, the people need the appropriate way to maintain effectiveness in the use of the Internet. The following paper describes a study of the distribution of the cache, which is performed by the squid proxy server by creating a storage network design on Linux. Cache documents that are stored in the proxy server will be distributed to another over a network storage server. The process of caching on the proxy server is using the Least Recently Used (LRU) Algorithm. This research was carried out by developing the existing method of caching server process, then it is to be added a unit as a backup storage device for the data that must be erased because of the replacement policy applied to the squid proxy server. This study is looking at how the hit ratio and byte hit ratio after adding the storage server compared to not having a storage server. At the end of this research, it is concluded that the distributed cache processes a hit ratio and byte hit ratio higher than the cache on the current proxy server.</p>

Deployment Plan of Wireless Distribution System of ASIST Intranet Network Infrastructure

Corporate giants have long recognized the importance of intranet in doing business. It is often implemented using conventional structured cabling. It increases productivity and produces higher Return on Investment (ROI). The study was conducted to develop Abra State Institute of Sciences and Technology (ASIST) Intranet Network Plan. It employed the descriptive and applied methods of research. A pre-validated research survey questionnaire adopted from the E-Government Fund Management Office Survey Questionnaire for Existing ICT Infrastructure Inventory (2014) was used. This paper defines how Wireless Distribution System (WDS) was configured to deploy an intranet in ASIST Lagangilang Campus, Lagangilang, Abra, Philippines. Several simulation processes on network test were performed to validate the connectivity. Testing provided an understanding and confidence before deployment. Wireless Distribution System is effective in sharing Internet connectivity where physical connectivity is impossible. The use of the Digitized School map has helped a lot in providing a clear view on the vegetation in the vicinity in between buildings. Moreover, it provided assistance in decision making to which type of 802.11 wireless is appropriate in distributing the internet signal over long distances. Finally, Squid proxy server is effective in restricting accessible websites.

Distributed Proxy Server dengan Squid pada Sistem Operasi Windows 7

Proxy server is the intermediary between client and the Internet. The usage of proxy server is one of many means to avoid excessive access to the Internet. Proxy server’s cache will save every web page which has been accessed, so clients can save their bandwidth when they access same web pages repeatedly. Distributed proxy is a collection of connected proxy servers which has shared cache. This research will prove that distributed proxy server can shorten data access time and minimize bandwidth. On this research, we use Squid Proxy Server on Windows 7 as the main tool.

SHS-HTTPS enforcer

Web servers provide immunity against Man In The Middle (MITM) attacks and eavesdropping by using HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) to force user agents to communicate only over HTTPS connections. However, the initial connection request from a user is made over an insecure HTTP connection. This issue was addressed by user agents; Google Chrome and Firefox, implicitly, by including a static list of URLs to be accessed only over secure HTTPS connections. Since, these user agents maintain their lists independently, the URLs used by one user agent are invisible to another. A user is prone to MITM attacks, especially in public hotspot environments, when accessing a URL present in the list of secure URLs of one browser but not in another, since the initial handshake from that user agent is insecure. Attacks can be initiated by modifying the outgoing HTTP packets and also the HTTPS response packets from the webserver. This motivated us to propose a solution independent of user agents, by merging the static URL lists of different user agents and enforcing HTTPS for all those URLs. In this paper, we propose a solution, SHSHTTPS Enforcer that introduces a local daemon to enforce URL redirection before the request flows out of the client for the URLs in a list compiled from multiple sources. The proposed solution has been demonstrated through a prototype implementation of the Squid Proxy server as our local daemon. The experiment was conducted by providing a URL, which was not present in one browser's list but was present in another browser's list. It was evident that SHS-HTTPS Enforcer enforced HTTPS successfully and MITM attacks were prevented.

OTOMATISASI ACL SQUID PROXY SERVER BERBASIS WEB

Squid is the most widely used program by the network administrator as a program for squid proxy server is open source ( free ) that can be modified according to our wishes. In use squid proxy server must be configured directly to its squid file is to create a functioning ACL ( Access Control List ) manually . By writing scripts ACL ACL settings manually create quite prone to errors in setting and writing , it is because the complexity of the placement and write ACL scripts . If the administrator does not have the skills in the proxy server settings are still manually or still typing some script ACL , there will be difficulties in squid proxy server settings . Based on this background, the need for automation in the ACL Squid proxy -based web server that serves to facilitate configure squid proxy server in order to provide convenience and minimize errors on the write command squid proxy server ACL. The method used for the design automation Acl Squid Proxy Server Based Web consists of several stages: planning , data collection , analysis , design , system design , application development and preparation of reports.The results of this study in the form of web-based applications that can be used by the client to perform ACL configuration on squid proxy server so that the configuration changes made by administrators using the web based applications that have been made . Machine Learning Based Architecture for Rule Establishment of Web Proxy Server

In present scenario Internet has become an integral part of every ones life, as many services like mail, news, chat are available and huge amounts of information on almost any subject is available. However, in most cases the bandwidth to connect to the Internet is limited. It needs to be used efficiently and more importantly productively. Generally, bandwidth is distributed among groups of users based on some policy constraints. However, it turns out that the users do not always use the entire allocated bandwidth at all times. Also, some times they need more bandwidth than the bandwidth allocated to them. Ideally, productive usage should be preferred over unproductive usage when bandwidth is scarce. But when it is abundant then any kind of use can be permitted provided it is in consonance with policy. The bandwidth usage patterns of users vary with time of the day, time of the year and requirements. So there is a need for dynamic allocation of bandwidth that satisfies the requirements of the users, manages variable usage and is consistent with administrative usage policy. Internet usage is varied and in the context of an institution or organization an administrator would like to maximize productive usage. There is, therefore, a need to implement control access policies, which prevents unproductive use but at the same time does not, to the extent possible, impose censorship. Squid proxy server is a full-featured web proxy, which increases the efficiency of the Internet link by providing caching and proxy services. Squid provides many mechanisms to set access control policies. However, deciding which policies to implement requires experimentation and usage statistics that must be processed to obtain useful data. The proposed architecture elaborated in this paper is based on machine learning to determine policies depending on the content of current URLs being visited. The main component in this architecture is the Squid traffic Analyzer, which classifies the traffic and generates URL lists. These URL lists are used in formulating access policies. The concept of delay priority will also be introduced which gives more options to system administrators in setting policies for bandwidth management. As Squid allows HTTP tunneling, it forms a loophole for strict policy management. In this paper the proxy tunneling in Squid has also been considered and some possible solutions to this problem will also be suggested.

Improving the Performance of Squid Proxy Server by using SCSI HDD and Blocking the Media Streaming

This paper discussed the configuration of squid proxy server and how to improve the performance of the squid proxy server by using the various methods and techniques. As internet users, N/W administrators know that the Squid[1] is a web caching proxy server for the supporting HTTPS, HTTP, File Transfer Protocols, and many more. It saves the bandwidth and advance the response times by caching and repeatedly using frequently-requested web sites. Squid proxy server has wide-ranging access controls and it delivers squid proxy server as great server accelerator. It runs on Linux and Windows platforms and is licensed under the GNU GPL[1] . So the improving of the performance squid proxy server is essential. This paper introduced two ideas that if use the SCSI HDD(for improving the cache management system) and block the media streaming that is frequently used by various users because media streaming takes lot of bandwidth if administrator blocks unwanted media streaming that also improves the performance of the squid proxy and it accelerated the content delivery. PENCATATAN DAN PEMISAHAN DATA LOG PROXY SERVER KE DALAM DATABASE MENGGUNAKAN MODEL OTOMATA MESIN TURING DI STMIK PPKIA PRADNYA PARAMITA MALANG

Development of the Internet has brought a significant impact on human life. To share Internet resources and anticipated adverse effects and the convenience of Internet users is necessary to control Internet access. One of them is by installing a squid proxy server. To be able to help improve the ability of the proxy server can be done by analyzing the log proxy server, because the record contains a record of user's Internet access. But to be able to do further analysis is necessary to re-record data on the proxy log into a database. This is caused by the proxy server log file is recorded in a text file squensial so hard to do an analysis of the data. Needed a method to read and analyze the log file and the method can be used is the Turing machine model of automata. Turing machine is a deterministic finite state machine that has two-way tape. In the process of recording into the database, performed the separation of the information contained in the proxy log files. Separation is performed by the analysis of the proxy log file will be used for various controls such as site access, and who has access and others. Such information can be poured into a website, so that individuals who use Internet resources in a network can mutually control each other. A neural network proxy cache replacement strategy and its implementation in the Squid proxy server

As the Internet has become a more central aspect for information technology, so have concerns with supplying enough bandwidth and serving web requests to end users in an appropriate time frame. Web caching was introduced in the 1990s to help decrease network traffic, lessen user perceived lag, and reduce loads on origin servers by storing copies of web objects on servers closer to end users as opposed to forwarding all requests to the origin servers. Since web caches have limited space, web caches must effectively decide which objects are worth caching or replacing for other objects. This problem is known as cache replacement. We used neural networks to solve this problem and proposed the Neural Network Proxy Cache Replacement (NNPCR) method. The goal of this research is to implement NNPCR in a real environment like Squid proxy server. In order to do so, we propose an improved strategy of NNPCR referred to as NNPCR-2. We show how the improved model can be trained with up to twelve times more data and gain a 5–10% increase in Correct Classification Ratio (CCR) than NNPCR. We implemented NNPCR-2 in Squid proxy server and compared it with four other cache replacement strategies. In this paper, we use 84 times more data than NNPCR was tested against and present exhaustive test results for NNPCR-2 with different trace files and neural network structures. Our results demonstrate that NNPCR-2 made important, balanced decisions in relation to the hit rate and byte hit rate; the two performance metrics most commonly used to measure the performance of web proxy caches.
