The purpose of the study was to investigate the influence of sport confidence and psychomotor overexcitability on the sport commitment behavior of university students majoring in physical education. Participants for this study were 369 university students majoring in physical education. For the statistical analyses, t-test, correlation analysis and stepwise regression analysis were used. Male students showed higher degree in the sport confidence, psychomotor overexcitability and sport commitment behavior than female students. The influence of the mental/physical preparation and coach leadership and psychomotor overexcitability was statistically significant on both the cognitive commitment and the behavioral commitment. Differences between male and female were found in the influence of sport confidence and psychomotor overexcitability on the cognitive and behavioral sport commitment. The influence of sport confidence and psychomotor overexcitability on the sport commitment behavior was also significant. There were different patterns between male and female in the influence of sport confidence and psychomotor overexcitability on the sport commitment behavior.
