GESTÃO ESCOLAR: A IMPORTÂNCIA DA GESTÃO ESCOLAR

This study addresses the role of the School Manager in the daily activities of educational institutions in the municipality of Governador Jorge Teixeira. It aims to analyze the current profile of the School Manager through a brief historical overview of the development of the manager’s role within schools. A qualitative methodology was used for the research, along with in situ observations of the selected managers' daily routines. Observations were analyzed based on categories such as school manager training, school manager role, and the diversity of school management according to the educational sphere of each school. The research was conducted at José Serafim Barbosa Municipal School for Early Childhood and Elementary Education. Selection was based on each school's IDEB results and the availability of managers. The theoretical foundation is supported by the analyses of Luck, Colombo, Andreotti, and Seco. The results reveal how pedagogical and administrative processes unfold in the School Management of the analyzed schools. The ongoing quest for results and insights into the School Manager's role is explored throughout the text, alongside the research findings.

The evolution of medical education in the era of Covid-19 and beyond: a longitudinal study.

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought about profound transformations in nearly all aspects of life, leaving its impact on the global community as a whole. Nowhere has this transformation been more pronounced than in the sphere of education, including medical education. Healthcare professionals and educators faced the daunting task of preparing the next generation of practicing physicians amid the ongoing public health crisis. The study involved students from three different Chinese medical universities (groups A, B, and C, respectively). The research employed two instruments: a Scale of Satisfaction with Simulation-Based Education and a Scale of Satisfaction with Telemedicine Competency Education. Data were collected at three different time points: 2020-2021 (online/distance learning), 2021-2022 (hybrid learning), and 2022-2023 (traditional face-to-face learning). It was revealed that students demonstrated the highest level of satisfaction during the hybrid learning period (Time Point 2), while online/distance learning (Time Point 1) received the lowest ratings. Statistical analysis indicated significant differences in satisfaction levels across the various time points. Hybrid learning emerged as the preferred method among students, yielding the highest level of satisfaction. Online/distance learning during the 2020-2021 academic year and traditional face-to-face instruction in 2022-2023 exhibited lower satisfaction levels. The research findings underscore the practical significance of hybrid learning for students in medical educational programs, suggesting its potential for optimizing educational curricula and resources within academic institutions.

Spatial Transformation of the Higher Education System: Threats and Challenges to Single-Industry Towns

The article proposes an approach to analyzing the spatial organization of the Russian higher education system. Methodologically, the study relies on the theory of structural functionalism. In order to solve the stated research problems, the authors used comparative historical and economic-statistical analyses, as well as the quick survey method. The study characterizes the specifics of the Russian system of single-industry towns and justifies the role of a single-industry town as an integral and essential element of the settlement system. The study also reveals structural and functional changes inthe Russian system of higher education that significantly limit the possibility of preserving universities and/or their branches in single-industry towns. It was proved that the functions of higher education institutions in a single-industry town are multifaceted, complex in nature, and not limited only to the sphere of education. In spite of this, the higher education system in single-industry towns downsizes at a significantly faster rate than in the country as a whole. The performed analysis shows that the persisting trend toward increasing territorial concentration in the country’s system of higher education can create a set of negative effects that have a disruptive impact on the national settlement system, the continuity of complex value chains, and the social stability of local communities in single-industry towns. A conclusion is made about the need for comprehensive solutions regarding the development of higher education in single-industry towns that combine both national mechanisms for achieving national goals and the toolkits of regional, industrial, educational, and corporate policies.

The education sphere of post-soviet russia in the mirror of the labour market requirements and the needs of the population

Within the theoretical framework of social and individual needs satisfied in the sphere of education, the paper traces the main stages of educational reforms in the post-Soviet Russia, analyzes the consequences of the reforms for social development and for the labor market. It is shown that during the period of socio-economic transformations and adaptation to market realities, underestimation of specific features of educational process undermined its key functions and led to the formation of degradation mechanisms. The underlying factors exacerbating professional-educational mismatch and weakening mechanisms of social equalization are revealed. Taking into account the specifics of the sphere of education, alternative approaches to its financing are discussed.

Main channels and consequences of the influence of war on educational inequality in society

A new, difficult and tragic research page is opening in domestic sociology – a detailed study of the effects of the Russian-Ukrainian war on all spheres of life of Ukrainian society, its social structure, institutional transformations, economic capabilities, political organization, as well as the daily life of citizens. An integral component of both the institutional structure of society and the everyday life of citizens is the sphere of education with its inherent and constantly reproduced educational inequality. A large-scale war has the potential to quickly and for a long period of time disrupt social order and change established patterns of social inequality in society, particularly in education, unevenly distributing stratified negative effects. With the beginning of large-scale hostilities, the educational infrastructure of Ukraine has suffered almost the greatest destruction since the Second World War. Schools and preschool education institutions have suffered the greatest damage and destruction. A large number of families with their children have been forced to move internally or externally, thus temporarily interrupting the opportunities for children’s education. The article summarizes the results of research in various countries that have experienced short or long-term periods of international or civil wars, which made it possible to identify the main channels of the war’s impact on educational inequality and the corresponding short- and long-term effects of the war. Seven main direct and indirect channels of the war’s impact on educational inequality have been identified, including the destruction of educational infrastructure; lack of teachers due to internal and external displacement, recruitment into the army or death; reduction of state expenditures on education; movement of a large number of adults and children; redistribution of power and wealth in society; the growth of poverty, the reassessment and change of priorities regarding education within the family; deterioration of children’s physical and mental health, malnutrition, stress, trauma, feeling of insecurity. Short- and longterm effects on the educational achievements of children are formed through channels of influence, which take the form of stratified educational losses, a decrease in family expenditures on education, as well as losses in the future lifetime income of individuals.

THE RELATIONSHIP OF STATE INVESTMENTS IN THE SECTOR OF ССI AND THE LEVEL OF COMPETITIVENESS OF THE ECONOMY

The article examines the relationship between public investment in the creative and cultural industries (CCI) sector and the level of competitiveness of the national economy. This study examines the influence of state-sponsored initiatives, including innovative projects, cultural programmes and creative start-ups, on a country's global economic competitiveness. It is established that investments in the cultural and creative industries have a dual impact on the national economy. Firstly, they facilitate the development of the cultural and educational spheres. Secondly, they have a significant impact on GDP growth, job creation, increase in export potential and attraction of foreign investment. Particular attention is paid to the mechanisms of interaction between the public and private sectors for the effective implementation of investment programmes in the field of CCI. The article examines the various financing models and institutional approaches that can ensure the sustainable development of creative industries. A substantial portion of the study is dedicated to an examination of international experiences with regard to investment in cultural and creative industries. In particular, the European Union, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the countries known as the "Asian Tigers" are taken as case studies. Based on a comparative analysis of these cases, the most effective instruments for supporting investments in the CCI sector and their impact on the competitiveness of national economies are identified.

METHODOLOGICAL RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE ORGANIZATION OF THE EDUCATIONAL PROCESS FOR PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHERS' STRATEGIC COMPETENCE: INTERCULTURAL COMMUNICATION

The article provides methodological recommendations for improving the educational process for the formation of strategic competence for future teachers in the aspect of intercultural communication. The purpose of the training, its content, the approaches on which the appropriate methodology should be based, its stages, the specified means of training and their sources of selection were described. The purpose of training is the formation of a secondary language personality; the content includes substantive and procedural aspects: areas, topics, subtopics, types and styles of communication, situations, problems, linguistic and sociocultural material, non-verbal means of communication, educational and communicative strategies, texts; among the approaches, we distinguish competence, reflexive, linguistic, sociocultural, cognitive, communicative-activity, level approaches; formation of basic intercultural professionally oriented foreign language communicative competence of future primary school teachers (normative foreign language course); formation of advanced intercultural professionally oriented foreign language communicative competence of future primary school teachers (variable foreign language courses); formation of highly specialized intercultural professionally oriented foreign language communicative competence of future primary school teachers (selective specialization courses taught in a foreign language); we recommend video phonograms, phonograms, and texts as teaching aids. We emphasize that it is advisable for future primary school teachers to teach pedagogical discourse, taking into account the personal, public, professional, and educational spheres of communication.

Analysis of the Russian market of educational programs in the field of additional professional education for specialists of pharmaceutical companies

Abstract Aim conduct an analysis of the Russian market of educational programs in the field of additional professional education for specialists of pharmaceutical companies. Material and methods. The analysis of the market of educational programs was based on the data of the annual reporting of a number of institutions of higher education (reports on the results of the annual self-examination, reports on the results of activities and on the use of assigned state property, monitoring in the main areas of the educational institution of higher education, information and analytical materials based on the results of monitoring the effectiveness of activities educational institutions of higher education) for the period from 2017 to 2021. Based on data obtained, the share indicators of educational organizations in the Russian market of educational services in the field of additional education for specialists of pharmaceutical enterprises were determined. The share indicator was used to determine the concentration of educational services and the level of competition in the market using the concentration index and the Herfindahl-Hirschman index. In addition, during the work, such methods of analysis as generalization, methods of logical, systemic and comparative analysis, expert forecasting were used. Results. Based on the analysis, data were obtained on the profitability of the market for additional professional education services for pharmaceutical industry specialists; the presence of a high level of concentration of educational services in the market of additional professional education with a slight level of competition was established; the features of the implementation of additional professional training for specialists in the pharmaceutical industry are determined. Conclusion. The importance of additional professional education for specialists in the pharmaceutical industry has been confirmed. The further direction of development of the sphere of additional professional education for workers of pharmaceutical enterprises has been determined. The increase in the Russian market of additional educational programs based on current data on the development of the industry was justified. Recommendations have been formulated to expand the currently implemented programs of additional professional education based on the growing needs of the pharmaceutical market.

Colonial continuities under scrutiny: an institutional ethnography of intercultural education in Chile

ABSTRACT Chile is a well-known country for its socio-economic and racial inequalities, especially in education. Despite it being prolific, research on educational inequalities has neglected the question about the persistence of colonial dynamics in the educational sphere and how the experience of colonisation has shaped contemporary social relations. Informed by the field of Decolonial Studies and by using institutional ethnography, this research sheds light onto the social (ruling) relations that sustain colonial continuities in the current Chilean school system. By starting from experiential accounts of Mapuche Indigenous educators who teach their ancestral language in the school system, this research provides evidence of an institutional apparatus sustaining forms of domination and reproduction of material and subjective inequalities.

Features of electronic (virtual) internationalisation of higher education in Russia and Kazakhstan

Introduction. The use of information and communications technologies in the sphere of higher education has received its new embodiment in promoting universities into the global educational space. The aim of the study was to find out how electronic internationalisation is implemented in some universities in Russia and Kazakhstan and what the prospects for its development are. Materials and methods. The survey was implemented on the basis of the methodology for scrutinising Englishlanguage pages of university websites, developed by the Russian Council on International Affairs in 2015. Materials from 5 English-language versions of websites of state universities in Russia and 5 websites of state universities in Kazakhstan were used. The used methods involved induction of empirical material collection; comparative method of studying the results; analysis and generalisation. Results. The most stuffed website sections of all selected five Russian universities are “About the University” (100%), “Contacts” (96%), “University History” (90%), “Admission” (96%), “University Mission and Strategic Goals” (93%), “Science and Research” (90%), “Units and Departments” (80%), “Foreign Partners” (80%). In 80% of the universities, all or most (2/3 of the total number) curricula in the English language have no news blocks in English or additional materials about the programmes (presentations, videos, booklets, etc.). The section “Career” in English is the most problematic in almost all of the surveyed universities. It is singled out as a special section only in 60% of the explored Russian universities. The most stuffed website sections of all selected five Kazakhstani universities are “Contacts” (84%), “About the University” (60%), “Admission” (60%) and “Science and Research” (50%). The other sections are less than 50% complete. Moreover, the section “Career” (28%) is the most problematic in terms of data content. The study showed that the Russian state universities which are in the top 5 in terms of student numbers are striving to improve the English-language versions of their websites and translate website sections into other popular languages. The survey of the Kazakhstan universities showed the opportunities for the development of electronic internationalisation in the country. Conclusion. Electronic internationalisation is a new promising form of international communication for universities in Russia and Kazakhstan. Some recommendations were formulated to develop electronic (virtual) internationalisation for both countries: translation of websites into other foreign languages; regular updating of information along with the development of strategic and marketing plans; promoting international identification of universities; use of digital marketing; due account of the immersive nature of internationalisation.

Features of labour education of students in modern social and educational environments

Introduction. The article presents the results of investigating the problem of labor education in the context of current changes in the social and educational environments. The purpose of the article is to identify the features of labor education in modern social and educational spheres from the standpoint of continuity of the tasks of its implementation at various levels of education and consistency with the tasks of general education. Materials and Methods. The theoretical research methods include sources analysis and analysis of educational programs for different levels of education. Empirical research methods used in the study include exploration of teaching experience and a questionnaire. The survey involved: 8,850 preschool teachers from 53 regions of the Russian Federation; 317,166 parents (legal representatives) of preschool-age children from 87 regions of the country; 4,913 deputy directors of comprehensive schools, representing 61 regions; 190,080 parents of school-age students, representing 88 regions. Results. The conducted research revealed: insufficient formalization of theoretical provisions; disunity of existing individual practices of labor education, their insufficient continuity at different levels of education and consistency with the tasks of general education; low activity of parents in the implementation of tasks of labor education as the child develops, vagueness of parents’ ideas about the significance and content of labor education at different levels of education. Methodological bases and conditions for the implementation of labor education in modern social and educational environments are formulated. Conclusions. The identified features of labor education at the present stage reflect the insufficient development of theoretical and methodological foundations for organizing labor education of students and actualize the need for further study of the problem, as well as the development of a model of labor education taking into account continuity at various levels of education and consistency with the priority tasks of general, secondary vocational education and model (federal) educational programs.

The emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic marked an unprecedented disruption in global education systems, affecting a vast population of approximately 1.6 billion learners across over 200 countries. Specifically, within Malaysia, where private universities hold a significant role in shaping the educational sphere, the pandemic brought about notable shifts in higher education. This research focuses on the post-pandemic impact on a private university situated in the Malaysian capital, focusing on transformations in teaching and learning approaches, student engagement, and technological integration in chemistry education. Through an in-depth analysis of diverse data sources from students and literatire review, this study aims to shed light on the challenges faced by the teaching and learning process in chemistry and the strategies employed to mitigate the adverse effects. In addition, the study also discusses the potential long-term transformations in higher education that may persist beyond the pandemic and offers recommendations to ensure the resilience and adaptability of private universities in Malaysia. Understanding the post-pandemic impact on private universities is crucial for formulating effective policies and strategies to enhance the quality and accessibility of higher education in the evolving educational landscape.

The Contribution of Halide Edib Adıvar to the Development of the Women’s Movement in Türkiye and Her Influence in the Context of Gender Equality

Halide Edib Adıvar, a prominent literary figure, holds a significant place in Turkish political scenes and Turkish literature during the Republican era. Her personal life, activities she participated in, and particularly her views on women's rights distinguish Halide Edib in a unique position. During the National Struggle, Halide Edib actively engaged in Anatolia and was among the first female speakers to emphasize the need for Turkish women to attain a dignified position in modern societies through her speeches, literary works, and writings. Acting as an educator advocating for active female participation in the education sphere, Halide Edib portrayed modern and educated female models in her works. Through her novels and writings, she made substantial contributions to the Turkish women's movement by presenting strong representations of women and questioning societal gender roles. Halide Edib Adıvar used various media outlets such as columns, articles, and books to promote gender equality. Drawing attention to women's education in her novels and writings, she encouraged awareness on the subject. In accordance with the directive of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, she co-founded the Anadolu Agency with Yunus Nadi Abalıoğlu in Ankara on April 6, 1920, seventeen days before the inauguration of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey on April 23, 1920. Halide Edib actively engaged in journalism by translating the political content of newspapers published in English at the agency. Halide Edib also played a role in the Women's Defense of Homeland Society, one of Turkey's first women's associations, striving to empower women for greater societal and political involvement. This study employs qualitative research methods to comprehensively examine Halide Edib Adıvar's role in societal change, her contributions to the women's rights movement, and her impact on empowering and raising awareness among women in Turkey and globally.

Pedagogical aspects of professional criminal liability of physical education teachers

The article considers the existing problem of the need for legal protection for mandatory workers in the field of physical education. This category of employees includes physical education teachers of state-owned secondary schools, since the Law on Physical Education and Sports, Article 26 (Physical Education in the Sphere of Education), states that classes for this category of employees are mandatory, which means that automatically these employees are professionally criminally responsible under Article 137 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine "Improper performance of duties regarding the protection of the life and health of children", i.e. this applies to cases of various severity regardless of the circumstances of their occurrence, if only the investigation establishes that this teacher conducted classes with this injured student. In the course of the research, a pedagogical analysis of laws was carried out with the aim of identifying articles or provisions that belong to the legislative and legal protection of the professional risk of physical education workers. The existing safety instructions were consistently reviewed in order to find alternative actions for the justification of this category of workers, at the same time an analysis of the directions of legal safety protection of the existing professional risk offered by the main book of the field of theory and methods of physical education was carried out. Based on the data of the conducted questionnaire, the common factors of professional risk of physical culture teachers were established. The following steps have been chosen as ways to eliminate this problem: to involve the industry in cooperation with the justice authorities regarding the provision of reliable legal protection for its employees, since according to Article 54 of the Law on Education, Section 6, participants in the educational process, which talks about the rights and obligations of pedagogical, scientific- pedagogical and scientific employees and other persons involved in the educational process, that they have the right to safe and harmless working conditions. And this means that their educational branch, to which they belong, has the full right to provide modern one hundred percent legal protection for its employees in relation to their professional activities, which will prohibit the investigation from starting criminal cases using the professional actions of teachers and lecturers (means, methods, techniques, incentives, etc.) as material evidence for the accusation, regardless of the gravity of the circumstances and the consequence.

Organizational and methodical features of the application of the game method in the educational process of teenagers in institutions of general secondary education

The article highlights the organizational and methodological features of using the game method in the educational process of teenagers in institutions of general secondary education. This methodological approach allows solving the process of assimilation of educational material against the background of timely prevention or removal of mental fatigue. The use of the game method strengthens the effect of the integration of educational and cognitive activities. Today, in the socio-economic and political life of Ukraine, it is becoming necessary to radically revise the sphere of education and upbringing. It is possible to raise a person successfully only by appropriate methods, which hide the attractiveness of education and training itself. One such method is the game method. Games act as a means of physical education and as a method of organizing a children's team. Through play, the child enters the world of knowledge, begins to learn the alphabet of science against a positive emotional background, and acquires spiritual values. While playing, children feel the joy of realizing their physical and mental strengths, which is an indispensable condition for development. Domestic and foreign scientists, teachers, physiologists, and doctors determined the unique influence of physical culture on a child's health. However, it is obvious that most teenagers do not believe in the importance of physical education. Physical activity did not become the main component of their lifestyle.

VIOLÊNCIA SIMBÓLICA NO TRABALHO DOCENTE: UM RELATO DE EXPERIÊNCIA

This report aims to address the issue of symbolic violence in the school environment, more precisely in teaching practice. This fact needs to be discussed, as it has gained notoriety in the studies of different thinkers. This type of violence, in the educational sphere, is not a recent fact and is not considered an act of physical aggression, however, it is related and structured, according to Pierre Bourdieu, under the absolutist cultural imposition of social class on other subjects. The presence of this phenomenon in the school context is quite evident, where the reproduction of the aforementioned type of violence is observed in the pedagogical action, that is, in the practical action of the teacher, in the classroom, in relation to the student, which is called by the french sociologist already mentioned symbolic violence.

The perception of meaningful work by employed and self-employed workers in the sphere of education

The collection of studies on meaningful work is still quite fragmented and lacks resumptive theoretical models that can be applied to various employment statuses. This article examines the meaningful work phenomenon for both employed and self-employed workers using qualitative data. Drawing on 16 in-depth semi-structured interviews with school teachers and self-employed private tutors in Russia, the analysis demonstrates the nature of meaningful work constructed by employment status. Different institutional frameworks form institutional legitimacy, professional community, the final product of work and the prestige of occupation. The article’s primary theoretical contribution is the development of a theoretical model that describes the multifaceted and impermanent nature of meaningful work. The practical implications include the revelation of prominent differences among workers having different employment statuses, which is a solid foundation for future attempts in conducting quantitative research.

ABSTRACT The relevance of this research lies in the fact that models and practices of the introduction of multilingualism are an important cross-cutting problem that concerns the social, cultural, economic and, consequently, educational spheres, which contribute to the promotion of rarer languages. It is important to assess the cultural value of linguistic diversity at all levels of education and training, while simultaneously spreading information about the multiplicity of languages and their importance in the world. The purpose of the study is to consider the models and practices of the introduction of multilingualism in the context of education in the Republic of Kazakhstan through comparative sociological analysis. To achieve this goal, the following methods were used: sociological, statistical, and comparative. The research findings highlight the importance of multilingualism in personal and societal development, emphasising the need for incorporating multilingual practices in educational policies and teacher training. Additionally, the introduction of multilingualism in Kazakhstan, particularly the trilingual approach involving Kazakh, Russian, and English, is influenced by global processes and the prestige associated with different languages in society.
