The spectral thermal emission of LiF slabs on metallic substrate is measured for different polarizations in the wavelength region between 30 μm and 130 μm at a temperature of 523 K. The thickness of the slabs varies from 0.26 μm to 26 μm. We observe various resonances, whose number and positions depend on the thickness and the angle of the emitted radiation. The experimental results are compared with the theory of Kliewer and Fuchs.
