Purpose: This article primarily explores the benefits and challenges of outer space tourism and also makes the case that a new international convention is desperately needed since the space tourism business cannot be supported by the current legal framework. A thorough analysis will be carried to analyze the benefits and legal challenges of space tourism and also identify the gaps in the international space law framework that pertain to space tourism.
