WARFIELD SPYING ROVER WITH DEFENCE MECHANISM FOR MILITARY APPLICATIONS

The soldier serves the Armed forcesof our nation. The importance of soldiers in India is very high in defending and protecting the borders. The soldier's life security plays a vital role in the field of the military. To overcome this problem, we have planned to replace smart rovers in hazardous areas wherethe soldiers feel insecure. The rover will have aSniper Gun which is used to help the soldiers for defence purposes. Sniper Gun can be moved in any direction with the help of servo motors. The proposed project consists of two main parts: Defence & Surveillance, for surveillance, we are having a High-quality wireless night vision camera is going to fix on the robot circuit which captures images and for defence purposes, we are having a sniper gun. This device runs with the DC motor to drive the wheel and it is controlled by Wi-Fi technology. A camera in a rover is used to capture the movement of the rival and also attacks the enemies by using a sniper gun. We are using Node MCU microcontroller for this project. It is an inexpensive system on a chip (soc). Tinker Cad simulation software is used to simulate the proposed hardware part. The overall project is controlled by using the Mobile app which is called Remote XY. This rover vehicle is designed for defence as well as surveillance under certain circumstances.

Several modern vaccines (against human papillomavirus, hepatitis B virus, and malaria) use a detoxified lipid A derived from Salmonella as an immune adjuvant. Early typhoid vaccines could have plausibly functioned as an innate immune stimulus, leading to some protection against malaria.

Abstract Approximately 73,290 West Africans traveled to South Asia during World War II, but relatively little is known about their activities on the subcontinent. The photographs of African soldiers in India published in the British Army’s RWAFF News, a Bombay-printed newspaper specifically designed for West African troops overseas, provide a rare and little-known insight into the lives of African soldiers in India. Existing accounts of African military service in India often outline the soldiers’ experience of India in only very general terms and typically privilege the combat experience of troops in Burma. The images described in this brief article reveal a very different face of African overseas military service: they depict a group of soldiers visiting the Taj Mahal and encountering the Mughal monument. Although published and choreographed by the British, these images reflect a moment of South-South encounter between West Africans and India’s Islamic history.

Fascist Yogis: Martial Bodies and Imperial Impotence

AbstractBetween the First and Second World Wars, two retired British military officers, Francis Yeats-Brown and J. F. C. Fuller, embraced fascism and yoga. In their publications and lecture tours, they used their past experiences as soldiers in India to encourage strength, discipline, and virility. While Fuller believed that yoga could teach men to be strong and powerful leaders, Yeats-Brown celebrated yoga as a part of “Aryan” racial inheritance. This article examines both Fuller's and Yeats-Brown's published accounts and archival trails in order to understand the development of global masculinities within individual British lives. It reveals that their engagement with yoga was a defensive effort to appropriate the “regeneration” of martial masculinity encouraged by Indian nationalists. Claiming yoga for “great men” and “Aryan” audiences became a way to rewrite their own histories of service to the British Empire. They erased the weakness and fragility of imperial life, and replaced it with idealized bodies that were strong, disciplined, and virile. In so doing, they attempted to save imperial soldiers from political and cultural irrelevance. This reimagining used imperial hierarchies of gender and racial difference to encourage a “universal” model of martial masculinity that could restore the power of the British Empire.

Effect of Spinal Cord Injury on Quality of Life of Affected Soldiers in India: A Cross-Sectional Study.

Study DesignA prospective cross-sectional study with convenience sampling approach was done to assess quality of life (QoL) in 100 soldiers and veterans affected by spinal cord injury (SCI).PurposeSCI affects almost every aspect of the life of an affected individual. This study was done to measure the impact of SCI on QoL of affected soldiers and veterans using the WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire.Overview of LiteratureThe devastating effect of SCI on QoL is well known. However, this study is unique in that it includes soldiers and veterans, who constitute a large, but excluded, cohort in most demographic studies.MethodsA cross-sectional study was done at two SCI rehabilitation centres of the Indian armed forces. Data was collected by face-to-face interviews from 100 patients, which included both sociodemographic data as well as all the questions included in WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS software.ResultsAge and marital status did not have any influence on QoL. Level of injury (paraplegic or quadriplegic), level of education and presence of other medical co-morbidities had the most significant influence on QoL. Presence of other medical co-morbidities had a negative influence on QoL.ConclusionsIdentification of factors having a positive and negative influence on QoL help in formulating measures and policies that positively influence the QoL following SCI in soldiers. Future longitudinal studies with larger sample sizes and assessment of additional variables in addition to WHOQOL-BREF, like presence/absence of secondary complications, are required to bring about policy changes to provide SCI patients with additional support and increased access to equipment or lifestyle interventions.

A discussion of recently discovered literature that reveals how after the Crimean War ended in 1856, Jamaican nurse, doctress and entrepreneur Mary Seacole travelled more widely and gained further international recognition than had previously been appreciated. New findings demonstrate that Seacole's international charitable and business activities were reported more widely than realised. Recently discovered literature uncovers her networking and strategic skills in various social milieus. A former Scutari nurse and 39 other women, offered their service to Seacole to nurse British soldiers in India. Newspapers also reported the medal she had been awarded from the Turkish government. Discussion paper. Digitized 19th-century newspaper reports, and 1857 Dutch and 1858 French translations of Seacole's autobiography and a recently discovered handwritten letter dated 1 October 1857 from Seacole to Sir Henry Storks, at the time Secretary for Military Correspondence at the War Office, London. Awareness of the findings affords a more thorough understanding of the scope and diversity of nursing history. This can provide valuable role models for the 21st century generations of competent and self-confident healthcare professionals. The new evidence offers further testimony that Seacole can truly be considered as one such figurehead. British and international primary sources reveal Mary Seacole as an historical and charismatic global phenomenon, more than had been previously realised.

The discovery of a signed letter by Crimean nursing heroine Mary Seacole to a War Office official may give an important clue that she was lobbying to be allowed to nurse British soldiers in India. Together with a letter from another anonymous nurse, and contemporary news reports, it reveals and active and well regarded nurse leader who knew how to network.

Native Words Learned by American Soldiers in India and Burma in World War II

5 ^ tORLD WAR II sent 4oo,ooo or more American soldiers to India and V v Burma in connection with two vital military operations. One was flying supplies to China via the Hump. The other, a twin operation, was driving the Japs out of Upper Burma in a diEcult military campaign and at the same time building and operating the Ledo Road, which was later renamed the Stilwell Road. Contact between these Americans and the natives of India and Burma amounted to considerably more than that involved in haggling over the price of an ivory elephant or a teakwood box. For one thing, a whole army of natives labored for the American army in building brick and bamboo buildings, constructing drainage ditches, unloading ships, trucks, and railu-ay waggons, and countless other tasks. Gangs or crews of such native labor were usually placed in charge of American enlisted men who were able to handle them very well with a scanty vocabulary of Hindustani. Another important fact was that a river of Indian goods flowed by reverse lend-lease from Indian factories, warehouses, and retail sources to Americans, both in rear echelons and on the Sghting front. Procurement of these goods called for countless contacts between American supply troops and Moslem and Hindu manufacturers and merchants. A third fact was that nearly all American oEcers had their own native bearers and servants, and enlisted men would often group together to hire bearers. American soldiers, always notably democratic in mixing with foreign populations, came to know their bearers extremely well. In addition to these contacts there were those which Americans had with the Chinese army which was secretly trained by General Joseph Stilwell at Ramgarh, India, and which fought side by side with American troops at the head of the road against the retreating Japs. The result of these varied contacts was the acquisition by the Americans of a group of Indian, Anglo Indian, Burmese, and Chinese words which became a standard part of their daily vocabulary for many months. The return to civilian life in America relegated this small vocabulary to disuse, except for an occasional involuntary teek hai or atcha, to be sure, but the best known and most used words are worth recording before they pass
