The performance of pharmaceutical wastewater treatment system of electrocoagulation assisted adsorption using perforated electrodes to reduce passivation.

The integrated electrocoagulation-assisted adsorption (ECA) system with a solar photovoltaic power supply has gained more attention as an effective approach for reduction chemical oxygen demand (COD) from pharmaceutical wastewater (PhWW). In this research, the ECA system was used for the treatment of PhWW.Several operating parameters were investigated, includingelectrode number, configuration, distance,operating time, current density, adsorption time, and temperature. Acurrent density of 6.656mA/cm2, sixelectrodes,a 20-mintime,a 4cm distance,an MP-Pconfiguration, anda 45 °C temperature produced the maximum COD reductions, where the operating cost of conventional energy was 0.273 $/m3. The EC, adsorption, and combination of EC and adsorption processes achieved efficient COD reductions of 85.4, 69.1, and 95.5%, respectively. The pseudo-second-order kinetic model and the Freundlich isotherm fitthe data of the endothermic adsorption process. Therefore, it was found that the combination processes were superior to the use of these processes in isolation to remove COD.

Study on the Change of Power Consumption Structure in Xumai Township, Nimu County, Lhasa, Xizang

The research on the evolution of rural power consumption structure in Xizang reflects the information on rural power development in Xizang, and the information on rural power development shows the people's living standards and demand trends. In order to understand the depth of changes in the power consumption structure of farmers and herdsmen households, the project team conducted a field survey of the changes in power supply sources, power consumption structure, power consumption equipment, and operation and management status of Sumai Township, a typical village in Nimu County, Lhasa City, Xizang over the years, and explored the history and trend of power development in remote villages in Xizang. Field research has found that before 2014, the township mainly relied on small-scale independent solar photovoltaic power supply, which was almost used for lighting; Since the implementation of the State Grid in 2014, electricity consumption has shifted from low voltage to wide voltage. In the past three years, the annual electricity consumption growth rate in Xumai Township has exceeded 6%, and the power supply stability has reached 90%. At the same time, the township utilizes solar photovoltaic street lights. The electrical appliances used have developed from a single lamp to power appliances such as household appliances, agricultural electric vehicles, tsamba machines and oil presses. The distribution line of the township is gradually being replaced with medium and low voltage, and is equipped with a 35kV Xumai substation. The 10kV medium and low voltage distribution network project of the rural power grid is gradually being put into operation and put into practice. However, research has found that villagers hope to use more clean energy such as solar energy for power supply and heating, in order to reduce the cost of electricity and gas bills.

Distributed energy storage system scheduling considering tariff structure, energy arbitrage and solar PV penetration

We develop a new convex optimization (CO)-based charge/discharge scheduling algorithm for distributed energy storage systems (ESSs) co-located with solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. The CO-based scheduling algorithm minimizes the monthly electricity expenses of a customer who owns an ESS and incorporates both a time-of-use volumetric tariff and a demand charge tariff. Further, we propose the novel idea of a “supply charge” tariff that incentivizes ESS customers to store excess solar PV generation that may otherwise result in reverse power flow in the distribution grid. By means of a case study we observe the CO-based daily charge/discharge schedules reduce (1) peak net demand (that is, load minus PV generation) of the customer, (2) power fluctuations in the customer net demand profile, and (3) the reliance of the customer on the grid by way of promoting energy self-consumption of local solar PV generation. Two alternate methods for behind-the-meter ESS scheduling are considered as benchmarks for cost minimization, peak net demand reduction, and mitigation of net demand fluctuations. The algorithm is tested using real 30-min interval residential load and solar data of 53 customers over 2-years. Results show that the CO-based scheduling algorithm provides mean peak net demand reductions between 46% and 64%, reduces mean net demand fluctuations by 25–49%, and increases the mean solar PV self-consumption between 24% and 39% when compared to a customer without an ESS. Introduction of a supply charge reduces the maximum solar PV power supply to the grid by 19% on average and does not financially impact ESS owners.

Design and Development of Intelligent LED Plant Light Supplement System Based on Solar-Powered for Facility Agriculture

Intelligent LED plant light supplement system can improve and enhance plant photosynthesis, increase crop yields, especially for anti-season greenhouse cultivation in the facility agriculture.For the application of greenhouse crop cultivation, design and development of intelligent LED plant lights system based on solar-powered, the system uses solar photovoltaic power supply to save the cost and environmental protection. And using the digital control technology to achieve intelligent LED plant light supplement system control. The hardware and software design of system were described in detail in the paper, the experimental tested prototype was completed.The designed system has the advantages of energy saving, digital smart, green and efficient, etc., which suitable for promote the application of modern facilities agriculture.

Application of Solar Photovoltaic Power Supply System in Cleaning Room Project

Cleanroom project has gained wide application in electronics and other industries,FFU(Fan Filter Unit) system as a major energy-consuming equipment of cleanroom project,reducing its energy consumption is one of the research hotspots in the industry. Combined with solar power technology, application of solar photovoltaic power supply system in cleaning room project can significantly reduce system energy consumption. Using solar-powered for FFU system in the cleanroom project, a solar-powered FFU system is designed and developed in this paper.System architecture, hardware and software development and system implementation are introduced. application of solar photovoltaic power supply system in cleaning room project will save a lot of energy, The designed system has high energy-efficient,and will obtain significantly economic and social benefits.

Development of a Solar Photovoltaic Power System to Generate Electricity for Office Appliances

In this paper a solar photovoltaic power supply system was developed to power office appliances. The system forms an alternative power source to the government own utility power supply in Nigeria, which is unreliable and epileptic in nature. It consists of photovoltaic array, mounting frame, storage device, inverter, charge controller and wiring system. The solar power system was tested in Akure, Nigeria (Latitude 7.15 o N) and the results obtained showed a good performance of the system. The output of solar power system is a function of solar radiation. The power output was high between 10.00 and 16.00 hours, which corresponds to the period of high solar radiation and coincides with the office hours. An average solar power output of 334 watt was obtained during test, while the total load of office appliances carried by the system was 290 watt.
