Transitioning towards Tomorrow’s Workforce: Education 5.0 in the Landscape of Society 5.0: A Systematic Literature Review

Globalization and technology are presently impacting every aspect of life, with digital technologies helping to set the trend. Human-centricity and the ethical use of technology are integral components of Society 5.0, which emphasizes quality of life, productivity, social responsibility, and sustainability. The purpose of this study was to develop a deeper understanding of how Higher Education 5.0 empowers the future workforce in the landscape of Society 5.0. A systematic literature review was conducted using 18 full-text research papers from the Scopus database. It shows that the number of studies in this area is limited. The results revealed the critical role of education in cultivating the digital skills necessary for upcoming professionals. In order to transition from higher education to the workplace, fresh graduates need academic and practical readiness to meet the demands of a future-ready workforce. The contribution of the future workforce will also be crucial in building a harmonious human-centric society that will use technology to improve the quality of life towards sustainable living as envisioned by the United Nations’ SDGs. Additionally, we identify the current gaps in the research on Education 5.0 in the landscape of Society 5.0 and subsequently provide recommendations for the future.

The impact of earnings opacity on corporate social responsibility: insights from Vietnamese listed firms

PurposeThis paper studies the association between earnings opacity and corporate social responsibility disclosures of firms listed on the Vietnamese Stock Exchange.Design/methodology/approachWe utilize a dataset comprising a sample of all listed Vietnamese firms for the period of 2014–2022. Data regarding corporate social responsibility information are gathered manually. Following Dechow et al. (1995), Kothari et al. (2005) and Bhattacharya et al. (2003), earnings opacity is measured by using three proxies, including abnormal accruals, earnings smoothing and loss avoidance. Our hypothesis was tested via ordinary least squares (OLS) regressions. To address endogeneity problems, we use the two-stage instrumental variable method (IV-2SLS) as well as the generalized method of moments (GMM) to ensure the robustness of our results.FindingsWe find that earnings opacity is positively related to corporate social responsibility disclosures. Cross-sectional analyses indicate that managers of firms disguise their opportunistic behaviour by disclosing more information about corporate social responsibility. The evidence also shows that firms experience long-run underperformance when having higher earnings opacity and greater sustainability disclosures. Our results remain robust even after correcting for endogeneity using the IV approach and the GMM method.Practical implicationsEvidence from this study can serve as a warning signal to the investment community, highlighting that some methods aimed at enhancing a firm’s corporate social responsibility disclosures might be used to obstruct other unethical activities. Moreover, the results of this study can help regulators gain a better comprehension of firms' reporting patterns concerning corporate social responsibility initiatives. It should not only reform the corporate social responsibility regulation but also impose stronger litigation for firms to enhance the quality of corporate social responsibility disclosures.Originality/valueWe are the first to present evidence regarding the relationship between earnings opacity and corporate social responsibility disclosure in Vietnam.

The impact of corporate governance and corporate social responsibility on SA REITs’ performance

ABSTRACT Corporate governance (CG) is one of the most sought after areas of research globally. This paper employs a corporate governance index (CGI) formulated from the KING III and IV reports to examine the link between corporate performance and the quality of CG and corporate social responsibility (CSR) of SA REITs listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE). The CGI index is created from King III and IV to measure the compliance of 33 SA REITs listed on the JSE as of January 2023. These REITs are assessed from 2013. The empirical investigation using multiple correspondence analysis (MCA) reveals that CG practices have a positive influence on firm performances measured by TSR (such as total share return). The results imply that CG’s standard principles influences the firm performance of SA REITs with a higher magnitude. The CSR index is created from the King reports, and the MCA was also used. This indicates that an SA REIT that complies with CSR regulations will improve returns.

Happy troubles? CSR awards and CSR report quality

AbstractWe propose that quality of corporate social responsibility (CSR) reports, as measured by independent agencies, will decline when firms perform well in social responsibility. Building on the existing literature on stakeholder theory and existing literature, we theorize that lower‐quality CSR reports may correlate with better actual CSR because performing well in CSR will increase external stakeholders' expectations but simultaneously stimulate discontent among shareholders, forcing firms to mitigate the conflict through CSR reports. This study takes Chinese listed firms from 2010 to 2019 as subjects and examines the relationship between winning prestigious CSR awards and CSR report quality. The results support our hypothesis. We further investigate two moderator variables and find the negative relationship is weakened when firms are state‐owned, potentially resulting in more social expectation pressures from the government and public. As an important financial indicator tracked by internal stakeholders, return on equity weakens this negative relationship.

Ideological and Political work in Universities Coordinating with Educational Management for Holistic Education

In the context of globalization, university students' ideologies and value orientations are facing the impact of diverse cultures. Therefore, how to better conduct ideological and political education and guide them to establish correct values has become a focus in higher education management. The achievement of this goal is inseparable from the organic integration and collaborative education of ideological and political work and educational management. ideological and political work plays a crucial role in university education, serving as an important means for students' ideological guidance and value leading. Through ideological and political courses, thematic education, practical activities, and other forms, it guides students to understand the country's major policies and social hot issues and cultivates their political quality, moral character, and sense of social responsibility. Educational management is crucial for ensuring teaching quality and maintaining order in teaching. By formulating a series of measures, it creates a conducive learning environment for students, helping them complete their studies successfully. Collaborative education emphasizes the mutual cooperation and support between ideological and political work and educational management. By setting common goals, integrating resources, sharing information, etc., ideological and political work and educational management form a synergy, jointly impacting students and promoting their all-round development.

The Information Quality of Corporate Social Responsibility in Leveraging Banks CSR Reputation: A Study of Indonesian Banks

Banking industry encounters some risks that have to be anticipated. One of the risks is reputation risk which has been considered crucial due to its ease to happen uncontrollably because some of the causes come from external perception on the banks. To maintain bank reputation, a program considered powerful is doing corporate social responsibility (CSR). The programs of CSR are expected to leverage and improve the bank image and reputation. Anyhow, many research revealed that CSR programs exposed by companies are skeptically perceived by public that consider the CSR programs as of more promoting the companies instead of giving helps to public. This gap lays on how banks are able to communicate their CSR programs appropriately showing that they deliver altruistic programs and have done them with credibility. This research is aimed at developing model of CSR information to maintain and improve banks reputation by testing the effect of altruism, credibility, CSR information quality on banks reputation. The variables are controlled by the range on initial capital and the bank business coverage. The respondents are personnel who are in charge of CSR and are the members of Corporate Forum for Community Development (CFCD). They have to look into the bank CSR report first before responding the online questionnaire. Data were processed using Structural Equation Modeling of Warp-PLS 6.0. The result showed that altruism and credibility significantly affect CSR information quality which then CSR information quality also significantly affects the bank reputation.

Применение библиометрического анализа для оценки взаимосвязи социально-психологического климата и производительности труда

<p>This study aims to address the limited understanding of organizational climate and performance by conducting a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of scholarly publications. The methodology involves analyzing publications using bibliometric techniques and VOSviewer. The results indicate that organizational performance, employee engagement, job satisfaction, leadership, and leadership culture are prominent topics within the field. The top five countries in terms of published documents and citations are the USA, India, the UK, Australia, and Malaysia. Recent publications have prioritized topics such as quality of work life, innovation, productivity, well-being, organizational commitment, work engagement, and corporate social responsibility. This study provides valuable insights for researchers, practitioners, and organizations to improve employee performance and productivity. The significance of this work lies in its ability to inform future research directions and guide collaboration efforts. Ultimately, this study advances the understanding of organizational climate and performance with practical implications for various organizational settings.</p>

INFLUENCE OF FAMILY OWNERSHIP, BOARD AND TOP MANAGEMENT CHARACTERISTICS ON THE QUALITY OF WEBSITE CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY DISCLOSURE IN INDONESIA

Background and Purpose: This study aims to investigate the effect of family ownership, board characteristics (board foreign experience and board accounting expertise), and top management characteristics (management education level) on the quality of website Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) disclosure via corporate website among the top companies listed in the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). This study adds to the body of literature by examining the moderating effect of family ownership towards the relationship between board characteristics and website CSR disclosure, which is useful for investors who might have concerns on the level of CSR disclosure as a gauge of firm ethics, particularly in respect to family-owned firms.
 
 Methodology: Sample of this study consisted of 100 non-financial companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the year of 2019. To test the study’s hypothesis, multiple linear regression analysis was applied.
 
 Findings: Empirical results from this study have shown that family ownership is negatively related to the quality of website CSR disclosure. Board foreign experience has a positive effect on CSR disclosure practices in their respective corporate websites. Meanwhile, top management education level was found to have a negative and statistically significant relationship with the quality of voluntary website CSR disclosure. Lastly, this study demonstrated that family ownership moderates the relationship between board accounting expertise and the quality of CSR disclosure on corporate websites.
 
 Contributions: This study contributes to the literature on CSR disclosure by introducing a set of index measuring the quality of voluntary website CSR disclosure, which captures not only the variety, but also the richness of CSR information. The moderating role of family ownership on such relationships, which is rarely investigated in the context of developing countries, was also explored by this study.

Analisis Praktik Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Saat Pandemi Covid-19 pada Perusahaan Farmasi

This study aims to analyze: 1) the level and quality of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) disclosure during the Covid-19 in pharmaceutical companies based on the 2021 GRI Standards, 2) Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) practiced by pharmaceutical companies in helping to overcome the Covid-19 based on the 2021 GRI Standards. This research is a qualitative research using content analysis methods. The research was conducted on pharmaceutical sector companies in Indonesia by taking 4 samples of companies, namely PT Indofarma Tbk, PT Kalbe Farma Tbk, PT Phapros Tbk, and PT Sido Muncul Tbk. The data used is data for 2019-2020 when the Covid-19 entered Indonesia. The research data comes from the company's sustainability report. The results of content analysis show that the Covid-19 has played a major role in the disclosure of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the pharmaceutical sector. Two of the four companies that were the subject of the study had quite high Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) disclosures, namely PT Kalbe Farma and PT Sido Muncul Tbk. Four companies that are active research subjects provide assistance in the form of donations to the community in efforts to tackle the Covid-19.

Quality of Mandatory Social Responsibility Disclosure and Total Factor Productivity of Enterprises: Evidence from Chinese Listed Companies

This study attempts to determine whether improving the quality of mandatory corporate social responsibility (CSR) information disclosure can have a positive impact on a firm’s development. To this end, an empirical analysis is conducted to establish a relationship between the quality of mandatory CSR information disclosure and a firm’s total factor productivity (TFP), using data from A-share listed companies in China over the period 2009–2020. The results show that: (1) Improving the quality of mandatory CSR disclosure leads to a significant increase in a firm’s TFP. (2) By alleviating a firm’s financing constraints and agency costs, the improved quality of mandatory CSR disclosure effectively enhances the firm’s investment efficiency and innovation capacity, leading to higher TFP. This research extends the influence of CSR disclosure on the economic development outcomes of Chinese firms, and provides theoretical guidance for the development and improvement of CSR disclosure mechanisms in emerging economies.

The mediating effect of Islamic ethical identity disclosure on financial performance

Purpose – The present study examines the impact of Islamic corporate governance and social responsibility on financial performance.Methodology – The study was designed with a quantitative approach. Purposive sampling was used in this study. Data were garnered through panel data from annual reports on Islamic banking in Indonesia and Malaysia from 2018 to 2020. The data were analyzed employing the Path Analysis.Findings – Study findings demonstrate that Islamic social responsibility and corporate governance did not significantly impact financial performance. Additionally, disclosing its Islamic ethical identity, Islamic corporate governance had a substantial impact on financial performance. Islamic social responsibility, however, had no impact on financial performance when Islamic ethical identity was disclosed.Implication – The findings offer empirical insights for managing Islamic commercial banks in Indonesia and Malaysia to elevate the application of Islamic corporate governance and social responsibility. This transparently demonstrates the quality of governance and social responsibility of Islamic banking with the disclosure of Islamic ethical identity following the standards applied by Islamic banking affecting stakeholder satisfaction.Originality – This research contributes significantly to the realm of Islamic banking management. It examines the level of stakeholder satisfaction through the enactment of Islamic corporate governance as a form of supervision of management performance, Islamic social responsibility as a form of corporate concern for the surrounding environment and Islamic ethical identity disclosure to promote the image of Islamic banking.

Quality of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Services at Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) in 2021 in the Perspective of Islamic Social Reporting (ISR) Index and Maqashid Syariah Index (MSI)

The government issues regulations through Limited Liability Company Law No. 40 of 2007 articles 66 and 74, which states that companies are required to report on the implementation of social and environmental responsibility which is often referred to as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). In carrying out its social responsibility, Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) must ensure that its operational system meets the benchmarks in CSR. To measure it, it is necessary to have a measuring instrument, namely using the Islamic Social Reporting (ISR) Index and the Maqashid Syariah Index (MSI), to fulfill CSR services to the community. This study aims to analyze the quality of CSR services at BSI 2021 in the ISR Index and MSI Perspective. This research was conducted using a type of library research (Library Research) using a qualitative approach. The validity of the data using source triangulation and data analysis techniques using data reduction. The results of the study show that the quality of CSR services in the 2021 BSI report has carried out CSR in accordance with seven principles including: ethical principles of ethics, principles of caliph protection, principles of honesty and trustworthiness, principles of halalan tayyiban, principles of fairness, principles of authenticity and credibility, and principles of charity. As for the quality of CSR activities specifically based on ISR items on the classification of funding and investment in zakat points, community classification in sadaqah, waqf, qardh hasan points, school scholarships, young generation development, community quality improvement, concern for children, and support social activities. And environmental classification at the point of environmental conservation and empowerment. Meanwhile, the quality of CSR services at BSI is in accordance with the Maqashid Syariah Index and fulfills the principles of individual education, achievement of justice, and public welfare, which are the foundations of this maqashid syariah not implemented by other Islamic banks.

Hedonic and utilitarian motivations and their relationship with cultural dimensions, life satisfaction and the attributes of supermarkets: An international study on consumer behavior

This research focuses on how consumers behave when they shop in supermarkets. It aims at understanding the relationship between hedonic and utilitarian motivations, cultural dimensions and satisfaction with life in context. Most researchers have studied how motivations and cultural dimensions affect consumer behavior. However, the studies conducted so far do not address the relationship between hedonic and utilitarian motivations, culture, satisfaction with life, and supermarket attributes. This research is mainly exploratory in nature and is based on three samples collected in different continents: Brazil, South Korea and Portugal. Evidence is found that satisfaction with life impacts utilitarian motivation but does not impact hedonic motivation. The study also shows that consumers satisfied with their life tend to be more rational in their purchases. Concerning the cultural dimension, power distance is the unique variable that positively impacts hedonic motivation, while long-term orientation has a negative impact on hedonic motivation. On the other hand, avoiding uncertainty and long-term orientation positively impact utilitarian behavior. Regarding the supermarkets’ attributes, the study puts in evidence the significant positive impact of pricing policy, variety and quality of products, environment, service, and corporate social responsibility in the hedonic motivation.

Relevance of Corporate Reputation Management Practice in The University of Calabar, Nigeria

With stiff competition inherent in corporate world and attempt to stay clean at all times making an institution the stakeholders’ choice, corporate reputation management becomes vital. For institutions such as university, reputation is influenced by sets of variables like student experiences, student selection, faculty attraction, stakeholder knowledge, and university valuation. Also, it's quality of education, research activity, and social responsibility. This study therefore, examined the place of corporate reputation management at the University of Calabar, Nigeria. Findings described the university’s reputation and public relations services rendered by the university as average for corporate reputation and not so good for the university public relation. The study suggested that if the quality of academic staff, quality of academic programmes, quality of students and infrastructure are improved, it will boost the reputation of the university.

How can Chinese companies improve the quality of their corporate social responsibility information disclosure? A cross-level confgurational approach

Although more businesses are actively or passively disclosing social responsibility information, few studies have focused on the impact of multifactor combinations on the quality of corporate social responsibility (CSR) information disclosure. Given the causal complexity of CSR information disclosure, a configurational analysis that focused on China's listed companies was investigated using fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA). The results show that there are two types of paths to generate high CSR information disclosure quality: “strict context - strong capability” and “strict context - strong capability - high attention”. A crucial factor leading to high-quality disclosure differences in CSR information disclosure quality is the combination of media attention and internal control. Strict government regulation has a higher impact on firms' CSR information disclosure in polluting industries. The research conclusions contribute to exploring paths to improve CSR information disclosure quality from the configuration perspective, as well as the causes of the quality difference of CSR information disclosure. In addition, this study also provides a theoretical basis for the effectiveness of government regulation on the CSR information disclosure of heavily polluting enterprises and provides a direction for the future development of CSR management in China.

Analisis Dampak Pandemi Covid-19 terhadap Perubahan Fokus Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) pada Uniqlo Co., Ltd

This study aims to analyze: 1) The level and quality of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) disclosure before and during the COVID-19 pandemic of Uniqlo Co., Ltd for the year 2016-2021 based on the GRI 2021 Standard, 2) Differences in focus changes of CSR before and during the COVID-19 pandemic at Uniqlo Co., Ltd. This research is a qualitative research with analysis content method using Sustainability report of Uniqlo Co., Ltd for the year 2016-2021. The object in this study is Uniqlo Co., Ltd. The type of data were documentary data with secondary data sources and the analysis method were content analysis. The result show that: 1) The level and quality of disclosure of Uniqlo’s CSR during the COVID-19 pandemic decreased compared to before the COVID-19 pandemic, 2) There is a change in the focus of Uniqlo's corporate social responsibility during the COVID-19 pandemic. Uniqlo shifted the focus of CSR from environmental (300) to significant indirect economic impacts (203-2) and prevention and mitigation of occupational health and safety impacts directly linked by business relationships (403-7).

Masa Jabatan CEO, Keragaman Dewan Direktur, dan Pengungkapan CSR: Eksplorasi Studi Kepustakaan

Purpose: This study reviews various literatures and obtains an overview of the relationship between a CEO's Tenure and Boards Diversity and the quality of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) disclosures.Method: The research method used in this study is a qualitative method, namely library research, by utilizing information sources derived from reputable online journals such as Scopus and Google Scholar as well as additional information obtained from articles, books, laws, and other documents relevant to the topic study.Results: The results of studies from various sources show that the quality of CSR disclosure is strongly influenced by the tenure of the CEO and also the diversity of the board of directors. Short CEO tenure tends to increase the quality of CSR disclosure. This is because the tenure is short, the CEO will try to optimize his tenure in order to increase the credibility and ability of the CEO to lead a company. On the other hand, a working tenure that is too long can reduce the quality of CSR report disclosure. The diversity of management also has strong implications for improving the quality of CSR report disclosure. The diversity of administrators can motivate the emergence of creative and innovative ideas to disclose better CSR reports.Implications: This research can be used as material for consideration for companies in making decisions in determining the tenure of the CEO and the diversity of the board.Novelty: This study is the first study attempt by doing research qualitative with considering many previous studies to make some conclusions and contribute to extant literature related to the corporate mechanism by doing library research.

This is a interpretative qualitative research using Sustainability Report of Hennes & Mauritz Co., Ltd for the year 2016-2021. Data for this study were secondary data were analyzed using content analysis technique. The result show that: 1) Based on the results of content analysis on the level of disclosure of economic, environmental and social indicator on the sustainability report of Hennes & Mauritz Co., Ltd there has been an increase in the number of level and quality of disclosure during COVID-19, 2) There is a change in the focus of disclosure of CSR before and during the COVID-19. H&M shifted the focus of CSR from environmental(300) to economic performance (201) and occupational health and safety (403).

Research on the Integration and Reform of Ideological and Political Elements in the Teaching of Rapid Prototyping Technology Course

With the continuous development of science and technology, rapid prototyping technology has been widely used in manufacturing industry. However, the teaching of rapid prototyping technology often pays attention to the technology itself and ignores the cultivation of students’ ideological and moral literacy. In order to better cultivate students’ comprehensive quality and sense of social responsibility, this study aims to explore how to integrate ideological and political elements into the teaching of "Rapid Prototyping Technology" to improve students’ ideological and moral quality and comprehensive ability. The results of this study are of great significance for promoting the reform of ideological and political education in the course of rapid prototyping technology, and provide useful reference for relevant teachers and decision makers.

Green Accounting and Corporate Social Responsibility on Company Performance to Mining Companies in Indonesian

Objective - The research aims to analyze company performance by applying corporate social responsibility and green accounting. Methodology/Technique - This study employs a descriptive quantitative method with secondary sources originating from mining companies' financial statements on the Indonesian Stock Exchange 2019-2021 period. The instance is selected using the method of purposeful sampling. The analytical tool in this study uses simple and multiple regression analysis. Findings - The application of green accounting partially does not affect company performance, while Corporate social responsibility affects financial performance. It shows that green accounting has not been considered in improving the company's financial performance, and social responsibility at work has been taken into consideration in improving its performance. A positive corporate image will increase the interest of stakeholders in businesses with increased performance. Simultaneously corporate social responsibility and green accounting impact the company's performance. It shows that CSR combined optimizing environmental costs can enhance company performance in concert. Novelty - The results indicate that CSR combined optimizing environmental costs can synergistically boost the performance of the business. Companies must boost the quality and quantity of social responsibility in business projects because it has been demonstrated that these projects benefit the community and the company financially. Companies can use this research to manage the environmental cost and fulfill their social obligations to build environmentally friendly businesses. Type of Paper - Empirical.
