The dairy sector plays a crucial role in the global economy, particularly in rural areas, by providing employment and contributing to nutritional security. However, this industry faces significant challenges due to a persistent skill gap that hinders its growth and efficiency. This research paper aims to analyse the current skill gaps within the dairy sector and explore the employment opportunities available. By examining industry trends, educational and vocational training programs, and workforce requirements, we identify the key skills needed for various roles within the dairy industry. Additionally, this paper investigates the barriers to acquiring these skills and proposes strategic initiatives to bridge the gap. Through a comprehensive literature review, stakeholder interviews, and case studies, we highlight the importance of targeted training programs, policy interventions, and technological advancements in addressing the skill gap. The findings suggest that a multi-faceted approach involving collaboration between government, educational institutions, and industry players is essential for developing a skilled workforce, enhancing productivity, and unlocking the full potential of the dairy sector.

Impact of Digital Technologies on Organizational Change Strategies: A Review

This study aims to evaluate the impact of digital technologies on organizational change strategies, identifying how digital transformation influences organizational behavior, decision-making, and performance outcomes. By conducting a systematic review of existing literature from a range of industries and geographical regions, this research consolidates evidence on the roles of digital tools such as artificial intelligence, big data analytics, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things in shaping organizational change. The methodology involved a comprehensive search and analysis of peer-reviewed journals, conference papers, and industry reports published in the last decade. The selected sources underwent qualitative synthesis to discern common themes, trends, and effects related to digital technologies on change management strategies. Findings indicate that digital technologies significantly drive both the pace and nature of organizational change. These technologies facilitate more agile and data-driven decision-making, enabling organizations to rapidly respond to market disruptions and emerging opportunities. Additionally, digital tools enhance communication and collaboration across departments, streamline operations, and foster innovation. In conclusion, the integration of digital technologies into organizational change strategies leads to enhanced efficiency, competitiveness, and adaptability. However, successful implementation requires addressing challenges such as skills gaps, digital divide, and resistance to change. The implications of these findings suggest that organizations should invest in continuous digital upskilling, robust digital infrastructure, and inclusive change management practices to fully leverage the benefits of digital transformation.

Data Analytic in Internal Auditing: A Scoping Review

Technology has become a more significant component of internal and external audits, and rapid changes are occurring in auditing procedures to reflect developments in the business world. This study aims to review existing literature on Data Analytics in Internal Auditing. The research utilizes the scoping review method, which follows the protocol established by Arksey and O'Malley (2005). The investigation has 20 years of observation, from 2003 to 2023. Thirty-nine articles were selected from electronic databases: Sage Journals, Springer, Taylor & Francis, Wiley, Emerald Publish, and Science Direct. The mapping research demonstrates the growth of data analytics in internal auditing. Key findings indicate that data analytics offers numerous advantages for internal auditing, including improved risk identification, enhanced fraud detection, increased operational efficiency, and better decision-making support. However, significant challenges persist, including issues related to data quality, skills gaps, organizational resistance, and technological constraints, emphasizing its crucial role in improving internal audit effectiveness and efficiency and indicating which skills internal auditors need to gain knowledge about internal auditing technology. The Review concludes by identifying gaps in the literature and suggesting future research directions to further advance our understanding of data analytics in internal audits and its implications for organizational performance and compliance.

Organizational Commitment as a Mediator: Exploring the Relationship between Job Satisfaction and Job Performance in the Ghanaian Public Sector

Public sector organizations in developing countries face significant challenges related to workforce retention, job satisfaction, and performance, particularly in Ghana, where limited resources and economic constraints exacerbate these issues. Addressing these challenges is vital for improving organizational outcomes and ensuring effective delivery of public services. This study explores the relationship between job satisfaction and job performance in Ghana’s public sector, focusing on the mediating role of organizational commitment. Understanding these dynamics is becoming increasingly important as public sector organizations grapple with the complexities of workforce management in resource-constrained environments. A sample of 300 employees was selected through purposive and convenience sampling, with 200 valid responses (66.6% response rate). Data were analyzed using SMART PLS 3.0 and SPSS 22, applying partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) to assess the research model and hypotheses. The findings reveal that job satisfaction significantly impacts affective, continuance, and normative commitment. Additionally, continuance and normative commitment positively influence job performance, whereas affective commitment does not. This study underscores the importance of job satisfaction in enhancing job performance through its effect on organizational commitment. To improve workforce outcomes, the study recommends targeted training programs that address skill gaps and increase job satisfaction. Public sector organizations, particularly local governments, should prioritize the implementation of effective job satisfaction strategies to boost employee performance and commitment. This research provides valuable insights into how public sector entities in developing countries like Ghana can foster employee performance through improved organizational commitment.

Application of Intelligent Collaboration Technology in Skill Training and Job Docking of Data Tagger

With the rapid development of artificial intelligence and machine learning technology, the role of data tagger has become more and more important, responsible for providing high-quality annotated data for training algorithms, but traditional skills training and job docking methods cannot meet the needs of the rapid development of the industry. This paper studies the application of intelligent collaboration technology in improving the skill training efficiency of data taggers and promoting its effective docking with the post. By using the literature review method, in-depth interview method, and case analysis method, this paper analyzes the current challenges faced by data taggers, including skill gaps, insufficient training resources, and rapid changes in market demand. The results show that the application of intelligent collaboration technology can not only improve the skill training efficiency of data taggers but also promote effective docking between them and their positions, bringing a positive impact to the data tagging industry.

Primary eye care service provision ability of mid-level healthcare providers in southern Ethiopia

Background: The provision of eye care services by trained and well-capacitated primary care providers in the rural community will contribute significantly to the reduction of avoidable blindness.Aim: This study aimed to investigate mid-level healthcare providers’ knowledge and skills capacity to provide primary eye care services.Setting: The study was conducted in four districts of southern Ethiopia.Methods: An institution-based descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted among randomly selected mid-level healthcare providers from August to October 2023. A self-administered questionnaire was used to collect data. Data entry and analysis were performed using Epi info version 6 and SPSS version 28 software. Descriptive statistics and logistic regression models were used in the analysis.Results: A total of 103 mid-level healthcare providers were involved in the evaluation with a response rate of 99%. Of the study respondents, less than half (48.5%) were found to have intermediate-level ability to provide primary eye care services. Serving more patients per month (p 0.001), receiving additional training (p 0.005) and having a first degree (p 0.001) were found to have a statistically significant association with the ability to provide primary eye care services.Conclusion: Most primary eye care service providers had a significant knowledge and skill gap. Capacity-building training aimed at enhancing the ability of primary eye care service providers need the appropriate attention.Contribution: This study presents the ability of mid-level healthcare workers to provide primary eye care services to support the elimination of avoidable blindness, resulting in improved quality of life.

In Bangladesh, a persistent mismatch exists between the skills fresh graduates possess and the competencies demanded by employers. This gap affects graduate employability and hampers economic growth. This article explores how key components— Program Curriculum Development (PCD), Instructor Portfolio Management (IPM), University Culture and Networking Platform (UCN), and University Facilities (UF)—can collectively address this issue. By integrating these elements into the educational supply chain, universities can produce skilled graduates who are better equipped to meet industry needs. The proposed framework offers a comprehensive approach to align academic outputs with labor market demands. The study highlights the importance of adapting curricula, engaging industry professionals in teaching, fostering strong university-industry connections, and investing in modern facilities to close the skills gap. This holistic approach ensures that graduates are employable, contributing to national development and societal betterment. The article concludes by emphasizing the need for further research on technological advancements and policy reforms to enhance higher education in Bangladesh.

This article explores the intricate landscape of talent management in the context of digital transformation, highlighting the associated challenges and prospects that organizations face. Utilizing a qualitative approach, the study employs a comprehensive literature review and library research to synthesize existing knowledge on the evolving role of talent management in a rapidly changing digital environment. The findings reveal that digital transformation significantly impacts recruitment, retention, and development strategies, necessitating a shift in traditional talent management practices. Organizations must adapt to technological advancements and changing workforce expectations, embracing new tools and methodologies to effectively engage and develop talent. Key challenges identified include the skills gap, resistance to change, and the need for continuous learning and development. Conversely, the prospects for enhancing employee engagement and fostering innovation through strategic talent management practices are promising. The Role of Technology and Automation in Streamlining Business Processes and Productivity for SMEs

Purpose: This research investigates the vital role of automation in enhancing business process efficiency and overall productivity within SMEs. It also discusses how technology can help overcome bottlenecks arising from human operation, resource limitation, and operational inefficiency, which have commonly been experienced by SMEs. Materials and Methods: The study combines an extensive review of existing literature with case studies from various industries to evaluate the effects of automation tools on SME operations. These tools range from cloud-based solutions to AI-powered systems, providing insights into their impact across different business processes. Findings: Research has shown that automation improves productivity in SMEs by up to 30%, reduces manual errors by 25%, and enhances data accuracy by improving employee focus on strategic tasks. In addition, the standardization of processes through automation ensures less variability in output. Automation also impacts customer experience positively by ensuring speed in service delivery and quality improvement in products. High upfront costs, however, combined with a shortage in skilled personnel and integrating new technologies with existing systems, remain barriers to wider adoption by SMEs. Implications to Theory, Practice and Policy: Accordingly, the study recommends that the following measures be taken to counteract the problems posed: phase in automation, cooperate with technology providers who will devise cost-effective solutions, and invest in comprehensive training programs to fill the skills gap. Government incentives, such as tax breaks and subsidies, could also push SMEs toward broader automation. Thereafter, successful integration of automation will enhance the competitiveness of SMEs and create a sustainable growth path in the digital economy.

Implementation Challenges of Building Information Modelling (BIM) in Small to Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) Participating in Public Projects in Qatar

This research investigates the implementation challenges of Building Information Modelling (BIM) in Small to Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) participating in public projects, with a focus on the construction industry in Qatar. Through a combination of literature review, surveys, and interviews, the study identifies key obstacles such as interoperability issues, financial constraints, organisational and cultural resistance, and the lack of comprehensive training programs. The literature highlights the fragmented nature of construction projects and the potential of BIM to improve efficiency through enhanced data handling and collaboration. However, SMEs often struggle with the high initial costs of software and hardware, as well as the need for extensive training to bridge the skill gap. Interviews with industry professionals reveal that while mandatory BIM integration in public projects drives adoption, it also exacerbates these challenges for SMEs, which may lack the necessary resources and expertise. Survey findings indicate that contractors frequently encounter issues with understanding and implementing BIM and meeting the government body standards, suggesting a need for better training and support. The study also emphasises the importance of strategic incremental adoption, where SMEs gradually integrate BIM into their processes, starting with low-level implementation in privately funded projects. The research concludes that while BIM offers significant benefits for the construction industry, its successful adoption requires targeted support for SMEs. This includes financial incentives, improved interoperability standards, comprehensive training programs, and strategic change management approaches. Addressing these challenges will enable SMEs to fully leverage BIM's potential, enhancing project efficiency and competitiveness in the construction sector.

How Prepared are Ethiopian English Teachers to Teach Early Grade Reading?

Purpose. This paper examines how prepared Ethiopian public primary school English teachers are to teach early grade reading. Methodology. A descriptive research design of mixed methods was employed. A sample of 125 English teachers in 20 randomly selected primary schools in Hawassa City Administration was the source of data. The researchers employed a knowledge assessment test, focus group discussions, and questionnaires to gather the necessary data. The analysis of quantitative data was carried out by using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS version 25.0). Results. It has been learned from the findings that primary English teacher preparation paid little attention to coursework and practicum to teach early reading. The results also revealed that English teachers felt somewhat prepared to teach early grade reading. There is serious knowledge limitation among English teachers that (12)9.6% of primary English teachers scored 50% and above, whereas (113)90.4% of teachers scored below 50%; the teachers’ average knowledge test score was 36.4%. The results have clearly indicated that it is statistically significant, the direct relationship among teacher preparation coursework emphasis, practicum attention statistically significant, direct relationship among teacher preparation coursework emphasis, practicum attention, and teachers’ felt preparedness at (p=0.001). Conclusions. The results have led to the conclusion that teacher preparation, both in its coursework and practicum, did not pay due attention to teaching early grade reading. That is, primary English teachers were inadequately prepared to teach early grade reading. Based on the results of this study, to improve the practice of early literacy instruction, English teachers’ knowledge and skills gaps need to be duly addressed. Further studies that investigate the current practice of early literacy teacher preparation and professional development should be conducted with a larger sample size and diverse contexts.

Core procedural skills in the MD curriculum: what students need to learn

The medical education system in Vietnam is currently undergoing a significant transformation with the support of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) and the Ministry of Health (MOH). Alongside this shift, the emergence of new medical schools, including VinUniversity, reflects a growing enrollment trend in undergraduate medical programs (UME). During the curriculum development phase, a crucial gap in core procedural skills among medical graduates surfaced. In response, the Medical Doctor (MD) Education team launched a project aimed at establishing a consensus-based list of essential procedural skills and identifying optimal clinical placements for skill acquisition. A cross-sectional survey, based on this list, was distributed among physicians and residents in the VINMEC Healthcare system, asking them to rate skills using the Likert scale and specify suitable clinical placements or rotations for acquisition. With 207 respondents, a consensus list of 38 core procedural skills was generated and integrated into the curriculum. This adaptable list holds promise for adoption by medical schools nationwide, fostering standardization and enhancement of medical education quality.

The role of apprenticeship in skills development of construction artisans to achieving Sustainable Development Goal 8: stakeholders’ unexplored approach

PurposeStudies show that apprenticeships can enhance skills development and economic growth. There is a paucity of academic literature concerning apprenticeship’s role in developing Nigerian construction artisans’ skills, especially regarding achieving Sustainable Development Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth). Thus, this study aims to appraise the role of apprenticeship in developing construction artisans’ skills and suggest measures to improve skills development for artisans’ on-the-job training mechanisms to achieve Goal 8.Design/methodology/approachGiven the unexplored nature of the problem, the study utilised face-to-face data collection via a qualitative research approach. It covered two major cities in Nigeria and achieved saturation at the 29th chosen interviewee. Also, the study adopted a thematic method to analyse the data from selected construction artisans, construction firm management staffers and consultant experts in skills matters.FindingsEnhancing skills development, replacing the ageing workforce through practical broad-based skills training, bridging skills gaps, enhancing work-integrated learning and economic upliftment emerged as apprenticeship’s role in developing artisans’ skills in the Nigerian built environment if well implemented. Apprenticeship to develop skills in the built environment is not without hindrances. The perceived 34 barriers were re-clustered into employee, employer and government-related. Findings show that achieving Goal 8 may be threatened if these hindrances are not mitigated. They suggest improving skills development for artisans’ on-the-job training mechanisms to achieve Goal 8.Originality/valueThis study demonstrates that apprenticeship’s role in developing construction artisans’ skills should be all-inclusive. Also, the three stakeholders must do more concerning training programmes to improve artisans’ skills development to achieve Goal 8.

Digital transformation and the future of work: closing the digital skills gap

Purpose The purpose of this article is to discuss the near future digital technology landscape and propose several specific in-demand digital skills for organizations and individuals in the next few years. Design/methodology/approach This article reviews some recent publications from representative inter-governmental, governmental, non-governmental, and commercial organizations on the rise of digital technologies and corresponding growth in digital jobs. Within this context, several specific in-demand skills are proposed by the author who has written a book on the topic of digital transformation. Findings Rapid advancements in digital technologies continue to shape organizational practices and the future of work. To take advantage of emerging digital technologies and better compete in the marketplace, organizations and individuals need to upskill and reskill. Practical implications The main purpose of this article is to suggest a list of specific digital skills for executive management and human resources professionals to help prepare employees for digital jobs in the next few years. Corporate policy makers could introduce and promote these digital skills as part of the organizations’ training and development curriculum. In the area of talent management, organizations could also formulate hiring policies and assessment mechanisms to attract, develop, and retain employees with the requisite digital skills. For information technology and business professionals seeking to upskill and reskill, they could acquire these digital skills to enhance their current roles and prepare for the future digital workplace environment. Originality/value This article contributes to a better understanding of the digital technology landscape and digital skills. A list of specific in-demand skills is proposed to help organizations and individuals close the digital skills gap.

Community learning for marketing management and digital marketing of Jasmine Rice by Nong Hin Housewives Group, Ratchaburi Province

Background and Aim: The Nong Hin Housewives Group has been instrumental in cultivating and marketing Jasmine rice, a product renowned for its quality. However, the group faces challenges in adopting modern marketing strategies, particularly in the digital realm. This study aims to analyze the current marketing practices, identify gaps in digital marketing skills, and develop a framework for effective community learning. By leveraging digital tools, the group can enhance its marketing efforts, reach a broader audience, and increase product sales. Materials and Methods: This study employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews. Surveys were distributed to 200 community members across different generations to assess their digital media usage and preferences. In-depth interviews were conducted with key members of the Nong Hin Housewives Group to understand their marketing challenges and aspirations. Data were analyzed using statistical methods for the survey responses and thematic analysis for qualitative data. Results: The findings reveal a significant disparity in digital media usage among different generations, with Facebook emerging as the most popular platform. The data indicate that 66.50% of respondents actively use Facebook for marketing purposes. The study also identified challenges related to digital literacy within the community, affecting the effective use of online marketing tools. Despite these challenges, there is a strong interest in learning and adapting to digital marketing strategies. Conclusion: The research underscores the importance of community learning in enhancing the marketing management and digital marketing capabilities of the Nong Hin Housewives Group. By investing in digital literacy training and developing tailored marketing strategies, the group can significantly improve its outreach and sales of Jasmine rice. The study emphasizes the need for ongoing support and resources to facilitate the transition into effective digital marketing practices.

Translational Quotient as an Innovative Outcome Parameter to Assess the Effectiveness of Training Methods: A Feasibility Study in Assessing the Baseline Psychiatric Skills of Primary Care Doctors in their Real-world Live Outpatient Clinic

Background: The effectiveness of training methods in medical education is critical, particularly for primary care physicians (PCPs) who frequently encounter psychiatric issues in their practice. Traditional assessment methods often fail to evaluate skill acquisition in real-world clinical practice. The Translational Quotient (TQ) is proposed as an innovative outcome measure to assess PCPs’ ability to apply psychiatric skills in their live outpatient consultation among their general patients. This study aims to evaluate the feasibility of using the TQ in real-world outpatient clinics and to understand the baseline psychiatric skills among PCPs using TQ. Methods: Actively practicing MBBS-qualified PCPs enrolled in the Diploma in Primary Care Psychiatry (DPCP) program across various districts were invited to participate. Baseline TQ assessments were conducted in the PCPs’ live clinics, with psychiatrists observing live consultations either remotely or in-person for the first five consecutive general consultations. Each consultation was scored using a standardized TQ proforma, which evaluated six criteria: elicitation of psychiatric symptoms, clinical reasoning, medication choices, counseling, time management, and overall clinical skills. Results: A total of 25 PCPs participated, with an average baseline TQ score of 15.7% (4.72 out of 30). Most participants (72%) scored 5 or less, highlighting significant gaps in psychiatric skills. Analysis revealed no significant associations between TQ scores and PCP demographics such as age, gender, and prior psychiatric training, but regional differences were noted, with lower scores in Karnataka compared to Bihar. Conclusions: The TQ is a feasible and practical tool for assessing real-world psychiatric skills among PCPs. The baseline scores indicate a pressing need for targeted psychiatric training to bridge the treatment gap in primary care. Future training programs should focus on enhancing diagnostic accuracy, treatment planning, and patient communication to improve mental healthcare outcomes in primary care settings.
