The first report of two new janiroid isopod species (Asellota, Janiroidea) from the western Indian Ocean

Two new janiroid isopod species, Heterosignum behbehaniisp. nov. and Uromunna alyamaniisp. nov., are described from the Kuwaiti waters, representing the first record of the genera in the western Indian Ocean. Heterosignum behbehaniisp. nov. is distinguished from its congeners by pereonites 2–7 with a pair of short single lateral spine-like processes; the relatively short length of the anterior part of its pleotelson, which accounts for about 0.1 of the total length of the pleotelson; and the stylet with an elongate, downwardly curved, and distally pointed apex. Uromunna alyamaniisp. nov. is equally unique, with the pleotelson bearing two denticles on each lateral margin, pleopod 2 endopod stylet extending beyond the apex of the protopod, and pleopod 4 exopod distal tip with a long plumose seta. This discovery of unique characteristics of the new species significantly enhances our understanding of marine biodiversity in the western Indian Ocean and underscores the importance of further research in this area. The identification keys are provided to all known species of Heterosignum and Indian Ocean Uromunna species.

Extraction of antioxidant and antibacterial agents from avocado (Persea americana) seed using Pulsed Electric Field method

The abundance of avocado seeds causes environmental problems. Therefore, avocado seeds, which are high in bioactive compounds, have been utilized. Several extraction methods have been explored to maximize this utilization. However, conventional extraction methods present major challenges due to disadvantages such as requiring high temperatures, high energy consumption, long extraction times, and producing solvent waste. To that purpose, the Pulse electric field (PEF) extraction method was developed, which is highly efficient, has a short extraction process, is environmentally friendly, and does not produce solvent waste. This study observed the effect of electric field strength (2.5–7.5 kV/cm) and pulse frequency (100–250 Hz) until an optimum point on the properties of avocado seed extract (Avs) as an antioxidant and antibacterial agent. The results show that increasing the electric field strength and pulse frequency boosts the extraction yield and total phenolic content (TPC). This is highly supported by SEM images, which show more pores, cavities, and disrupted membrane cells as the electric field strength and pulse frequency increased. GC-MS and FTIR analysis also showed that the extract contains bioactive compounds such as polyphenols, fatty acids, and other compounds with the representing peaks OH, C−H stretch, CC, −C−H stretch, C−O stretch, and in-plan deformation vibration CH indicating as antioxidant and antibacterial agents. The extract obtained at 7.5 kV/cm with a pulse frequency of 250 Hz shows the best performance of bioactive potential indicated by antioxidant activity, IC50, and surface area of the inhibition zone against E. coli and S. aureus, which are 95.56 %, 90 µg/mL, 396 mm2, and 785 mm2, respectively. The inhibitory zones of the two microbials were relatively stable until the seventh day of observation. This research showed that the EF extraction method serves as an eco-extraction technology of natural bioactive compounds, which has high potential application as an antioxidant and antibacterial agent.

A detection model of aggressive driving behavior based on hybrid deep learning

<p>Modern transportation faces a crucial challenge in ensuring road safety by addressing driving behavior concerns. This paper introduces an innovative deep learning model derived from a cellphone-collected Driving Behavior dataset, focusing on detecting and classifying aggressive driving. Using a cohort-based dataset, a hyper-deep learning model categorizes drivers into normal, slow, and aggressive groups. The system employs pre-processing methods and two methodologies, directly inputting data and incorporating feature selection. The hyper-CNN-Dense model, used for training, shows promising results. Feature selection techniques like SVD6 and MI6 achieve optimal outcomes, with a 100% accuracy rate in detecting aggressive driving. Notably, SVD6 boasts a short processing time of just 43 seconds. This research successfully identifies aggressive driving behavior with impeccable accuracy and in a remarkably short timeframe.</p>

An attention-based weight adaptive multi-task learning framework for slab head shape prediction and optimization during the rough rolling process

During the hot rolling process, predicting and optimizing the slab head unstable deformation is crucial for improving product yield. However, the multivariate, strongly coupled, nonlinear characteristics of the hot rolling process pose a significant challenge to information extraction. In this paper, an attention-based weight adaptive multi-task learning framework (AWAMTL) is proposed for slab head unstable deformation prediction and optimization. Initially, the unstable deformation zone of the slab is represented using the defect width deviation, defect length, and defect area, and the process variables are converted into image data to construct a slab head shape dataset. Subsequently, a convolutional neural network (CNN) architecture that incorporates inter-block connections and attention mechanisms is designed for information extraction. A weight adaptive method multi-task learning method is introduced to balance the training process of three targets, in addition, the Huber loss function and branching network are incorporated into the model training. The experiment results demonstrate that the proposed data conversion method can improve information aggregation, and the AWAMTL framework enhances the model performance, which outperforms the other compared models. Furthermore, based on the proposed prediction model and optimization algorithm, the short stroke control process is optimized. For the defect width deviation, defect length and defect area, the mean improvement rate for all slabs are 10.30 %, 21.89 % and 23.50 %, respectively.

Selective oxidative leaching and restoration of FePO4 from spent LiFePO4 powder for regeneration into LiFePO4 cathode

With the large-scale commercial use of LiFePO4(LFP), the resource regeneration of retired LFP is one of the crucial issues in the EV industry. More attention is being paid to efficient recovery of Fe and P resources and the high quality of FePO4 precursor through process flows for developing recycling methods. The selective extraction process of lithium from spent LFP powder in H3PO4 system was studied, and the distribution and migration behavior of each element during the leaching process were analyzed. Under the optimized leaching conditions, the leaching rates of each element in spent LFP powder are Li: 96.1 %, Fe: 0.28 % and Al: 23.3 %, respectively, showing high efficiency of Li extraction. At the same time, the leaching kinetics of the oxidation leaching process was studied, and the apparent activation energy was calculated to be 53.45 kJ mol−1, indicating that the oxidation leaching process is controlled by chemical reaction. The FePO4 precursor was directly reconstructed from iron-phosphorus slag using a short H3PO4 purification process. The capacity retention of the regenerated LFP using the H3PO4-purified FePO4 precursor is 99.6 % after 300 cycles at 1C, and its specific capacity for reversible discharge at a high rate of 5C is 140.2 mAh g−1, demonstrating excellent electrochemical performance. The selective leaching in H3PO4 system shows that the regeneration route of FePO4 precursors is promising for scalable fabrication.

Carbon-Oxygen Radical Assisted Growth of Defect-Free Graphene Films Using Low-Temperature Chemical Vapor Deposition.

Low-temperature chemical vapor deposition growth of graphene films is a long-term pursuit in the graphene synthesis field because of the low energy consumption, short heating-cooling process and low wrinkle density of as-obtained films. However, insufficient energy supply at low temperature (below 850°C) usually leads to the difficulty in carbon source dissociation, graphene growth, and defect healing. Herein, a Carbon-Oxygen (C─O) radical assisted strategy is proposed for low-temperature growth of defect-free, wrinkle-free, and single-crystalline graphene films by using methanol precursor. We provide a deep insight into the growth process fueled by methanol precursor, unveiling the dissociation pathway of methanol and the roles of intermediate C─O radicals in carbon attaching and assembling to graphene lattice without defect formation. This method shows promising prospects in the cost-effective production of high-quality graphene films and provides inspiration for growing other 2D materials.

Machining Characteristics During Short Hole Drilling of Titanium Alloy Ti10V2Fe3Al.

The single-phase titanium ß-alloy Ti10V2Fe3Al (Ti-1023) has been widely used in the aerospace industry due to its unique mechanical properties, which include high fatigue strength and fracture toughness, as well as high corrosion resistance. On the other hand, these unique properties significantly hinder the cutting processes of this material, especially those characterized by a closed machining process area, such as drilling. This paper is devoted to the study of the short hole drilling process of the above-mentioned titanium alloy using direct measurements and numerical modeling. Measurements of the cutting force components in the drilling process and determination of the resultant cutting force and total cutting power were performed. The macro- and microstructure of chips generated during drilling were analyzed, and the dependence of the chip compression ratio and the distance between neighboring segments of serrated chips on cutting speed and drill feed was determined. Experimental studies were supplemented by determining the temperature on the lateral clearance face of the drill's outer cutting insert in dependence on the cutting modes. For the modeling of the drilling process using the finite element model, the parameters of the triad of component submodels of the numerical model were determined: the machined material model, the model of contact interaction between the tool and the machined material, and the fracture model of the machined material. The determination of these parameters was performed through the DOE sensitivity analysis. The target values for performing this analysis were the total cutting power and the distance between neighboring chip segments. The maximum deviation between the simulated and experimentally determined values of the resulting cutting force is no more than 25%. At the same time, the maximum deviation between the measured values of the temperature on the lateral clearance face of the drill's outer cutting insert and the corresponding simulated values is 26.1%.

Simple enzymatic depolymerization process based on rapid ball milling pretreatment for high-crystalline polyethylene terephthalate fibers

The high crystallinity (30 %–50 %) of discarded polyester textile waste limits the industrialization of its clean enzymatic depolymerization. In this study, a simple process based on ball milling pretreatment was developed to achieve effective enzymatic hydrolysis of high-crystalline polyester fiber. Ball milling was selected for its short, mild, and chemical-free process, which achieved a remarkable 23.8-fold (60.9 %) increase in terephthalic acid (TPA) yield from waste polyethylene terephthalate (PET) degradation, along with high TPA purity in the released soluble compounds. Just 30 min of ball milling at room temperature induced polyester amorphization, resulting in polyester with 12 % lower crystallinity compared with untreated polyester (51 %), while simultaneously increasing the surface roughness of polyester, thereby enhancing the efficiency of enzymatic hydrolysis. The simple process for effective enzymatic-depolymerization of waste polyester fiber developed in this study has potential industrial applications.

Tuning spike-like morphologies in Silicon by sustainable fs-laser processing in air for enhanced light absorption

In this work, we demonstrate that ultrafast laser processing (1030nm, 290fs) of silicon in ambient air strongly improves the material’s performance in terms of absorption, both in the visible and near infrared spectral range, which paves the way for further studies on increasing the sub-bandgap absorption after texturing, suggesting the material developed as a sustainable substitute for black silicon processed in greenhouse gases atmospheres. Our approach is based on the fabrication of spike-like morphologies in ambient air and the subsequent annealing of the material by pulsed laser melting or rapid thermal annealing to recover its crystalline phase. In particular, the influence of three main processing parameters (fluence, pulse number and repetition rate) on the properties of the spike-like structures has been investigated, each of them revealing the possibility of a direct control on the size, shape and period of the spikes, and achieving a total tuning range of the period from 4μm to 14μm for a single laser wavelength. Macroscopic areas have been fabricated using short processing times, yielding absorption values A>94% over the UV–VIS-NIR spectral range (250 nm - 1100nm) without hyperdoping, and A≥20% for longer wavelengths up to 2500nm, while preserving the electrical performance of pristine silicon.

Clean and efficient lithium recovery from waste electrolytes via an environmentally short process

Low-cost and environmentally friendly recycling methods can incorporate strategic elements from discarded lithium-containing aluminum electrolytes (LiAE), which is crucial for alleviating resource shortages and environmental footprint. This study aims to develop a method for the comprehensive utilization of LiAE through low-temperature leaching of calcification. Unlike traditional high-temperature acidification roasting/ transformation processes (320–850 °C), the calcification leaching method only involves one-step leaching and avoids high heat energy consumption. Besides, this low-temperature calcification method chemically destroys the crystal structure of metal fluorides (Li, Na, K, etc.), ensuring a high leaching rate while ensuring an alkaline environment for lithium extraction from the leaching solution without additional alkaline neutralization. The lithium extraction rate exceeds 96 %, with high-purity Li2CO3 and NaOH prepared. The CaCO3 produced by decalcification has the potential for recycling (in the form of CaO after calcination). Meanwhile, the effects of operating temperature, mass ratio of CaO to LiAE, liquid–solid ratio, and leaching time on the calcium leaching reaction were systematically studied. The economic benefits and creative evaluation of the process were evaluated. Finally, the regenerated LCO prepared from recycled Li2CO3 has been proven to have good electrochemical performance compared to commercial LCO, demonstrating the feasibility of energy storage application. In summary, the comprehensive utilization of LiAE by the calcium leaching method has been proven to be feasible.

Volatilization and cleaning recovery of Pb, Se and Hg in acid sludge of copper smelting system during vacuum distillation

The high lead acid sludge, containing a small amount of selenium and mercury, is a hazardous waste product of the copper smelting system. Improper disposal of this waste can cause serious harm to the environment. In this study, the method of vacuum distillation was proposed for treating the high lead acid sludge. The study aimed to investigate the volatilization rule of selenium, mercury, and lead in the acid sludge during vacuum distillation, as well as to purify PbSe and metallic lead. The results indicated that under 5 Pa, Hg and Se commence volatilizing at 300 ℃, the content of Hg in volatile substances remains relatively constant after reaching 400 ℃, demonstrating nearly complete volatilization at this temperature with a ratio of 92.93 %. Similarly, selenium almost completely volatilizes at 800 ℃ with a ratio of 96.74 %, while lead does so at around 1000 ℃ with a ratio of approximately 99.27 %. Mercury at 400 ℃ can be recovered as mercury selenide. Lead selenide can be achieved at 800 ℃, while lead sulfate can be decomposed and purified at 1000 ℃ to obtain metallic lead with a purity higher than 99 %. The method can properly treat and recover mercury, selenium, lead and other elements in the acid sludge with short process and no pollution, which provides a new cleaning approach for high lead acid sludge.

Recovering nutrients and unblocking the cake layer of an electrochemical anaerobic membrane bioreactor

The sustainable development strategy shifts water treatment from pollution removal to resource recovery. Here, an electrochemical resource-recovery anaerobic membrane bioreactor (eRAnMBR) that employed a magnesium plate and conductive membrane as dual anodes is presented and shows excellent performance in carbon, nitrogen, and phosphorus recovery, as well as 95% membrane anti-fouling. The Mg2+ released alters the physicochemical properties of sludge, unblocking the cake layer, and recovers ammonium and phosphate, yielding 60.64% purity and 0.08 g d−1 struvite deposited onto cathode to be separated from sludge. The enhanced direct interspecies electron transfer, along with hydrogen evolution and alkalinity increase due to the electrochemical reactions, significantly increase methane yield and purity (93.97%) of the eRAnMBR. This increased internal energy can cover the additional electricity and electrode consumption. This integrated eRAnMBR reactor boasts the benefits of short process, low maintenance, and low carbon footprint, introducing a concept for the next generation of wastewater treatment.

Clearing the plate: a strategic approach to mitigate well-to-well contamination in large-scale microbiome studies.

Understanding dynamic microbial communities typically requires large-scale studies. However, handling large numbers of samples introduces many challenges, with cross-contamination being a major issue. It not only complicates analysis but also leads to sample loss and increased costs and restricts diverse study designs. The prevalent use of 96-well plates for nucleic acid and metabolite extractions exacerbates this problem due to their wells having little separation and being connected by a single plate seal. To address this, we propose a new strategy using barcoded Matrix Tubes, showing a significant reduction in cross-contamination compared to conventional plate-based approaches. Additionally, this method facilitates the extraction of both nucleic acids and metabolites from a single tubed sample, eliminating the need to collect separate aliquots for each extraction. This innovation improves large-scale study design by shortening processing times, simplifying analysis, facilitating metadata curation, and producing more reliable results.

Costs and benefits of item reduction: The abridgment of the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ)

Shortening existing instruments is a highly required procedure, as short scales may have several advantages over the long versions, especially in time and/or resources restrictions. However, abbreviated forms may be weaker than their parent versions from both content coverage and psychometric robustness. Also, the abridgment of instruments is often lacking in methodological strictness, and the potential drawbacks of the shortened scales are rarely reported. The current study aims to describe the whole process of scale shortening, emphasizing the potential costs and benefits, in terms of balance between time-resource savings and loss of validity and reliability. We shortened the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ), involving a sample of 459 participants (53.2% males). Item reduction was driven by searching to preserve the content breadth of the construct and scale's psychometric quality. Our results supported the two-factor structure of the measure (Cognitive Reappraisal and Expressive Suppression), χ2(8) = 11.357 ns, CFI = 0.995, TLI = 0.990, RMSEA = 0.030 (0.000–0.067), SRMR = 0.031, and three items were selected for each subscale. The two intended factors showed good levels of reliability (α > 0.710). A latent variable model was performed to evaluate how the original ERQ and our proposed short version (ERQS) were related to depression, anxiety, and stress: A similar pattern of associations was found, with Cognitive Reappraisal (negatively) and Expressive Suppression (positively) reporting significant but weak associations. The ERQ-S can be beneficial over the original version, as it effectively assesses the two emotion regulation strategies with a trivial loss in reliability and predictive validity.

Rapid identification, pathotyping and quantification of infectious bursal disease virus by high-resolution melting curve quantitative reverse transcription PCR analysis: An innovative technology well-suited for real-time large-scale epidemiological surveillance

With the virus continuing to evolve, very virulent IBDV (vvIBDV) and novel variant IBDV (nvIBDV) have become the predominant epidemic strains in China, exacerbated by the widespread use of attenuated vaccine strains (attIBDV), making a complex infection situation of IBDV in the field. Therefore, developing a rapid and accurate high-resolution melting curve quantitative reverse transcription PCR (HRM-qRT-PCR) for the identification and pathotyping of IBDV is crucial for clinical monitoring and disease control. Extensive data analysis and genome-screening of the three dominant IBDV pathotypes identified a specific region (nucleotides 2450–2603 in segment A) with distinct GC content as the detection target. Experimental testing of HRM-qRT-PCR revealed distinct melting curves and high sensitivity, with the detection limits of 61.2 copies/μL, 61.1 copies/μL and 67.5 copies/μL for vvIBDV, nvIBDV and attIBDV, respectively. The method exhibited excellent specificity, with no inter-genotypes cross-reactivity among the three pathotypes and no reactivity to other common avian pathogens. Applied to samples with double and triple co-infections of different IBDV pathotypes, the method displayed specific melting peaks corresponding to the viruses present in the samples, with an accuracy rate of 100 %. This method precisely identifies and differentiates all the single or co-infected samples, generating distinct peaks corresponding to the Tm values of each virus pathotype in traditional melting curve plots. Furthermore, the method overcomes the limitations of traditional pathotyping methods, requiring only one reaction to achieve rapid viral pathotyping and facilitating quantitative analysis of viruses within the samples. This study introduces an innovative HRM-qRT-PCR method, offering new technology to rapid and accurate identification, pathotyping and quantification of vvIBDV, nvIBDV, and attIBDV. With strong discriminatory power, user-friendliness and a short processing time, this method is highly attractive for the rapid IBDV pathotyping in real-time large-scale epidemiological surveillance during outbreaks.

Special issue on thin-films for sustainable manufacturing

Sustainable manufacturing is the creation of products using technologies capable of decoupling the factors that may adversely affect the environment. One such technology is thin film coating, extensively used for various commercial applications. Achieving energy and resource efficiency, cost reduction, short process chain of manufacturing and long life for tools and products are some of the benefits of using thin film coatings. This technology significantly contributes to strengthening all three pillars, that is, environment, economy and society of sustainability. This special issue aims to highlight some of the critical application areas of thin film coatings under sustainable manufacturing, focusing on machining.

Achieving strength-ductility balance in AZ31-WE43 Mg alloys by symmetric extrusion-shear process at various temperatures

The development of composites that simultaneously improve strength and plasticity is a challenging task, especially in Mg alloys. The focus of this study is to create a novel multiscale gradient structure (GS) in Mg laminates to exhibit optimal strength-plasticity synergies through a temperature-controlled extrusion shear (TCES) and extrusion composite process with preset grain sizes. Initially, the gradient structure is formed by a short extrusion process, leading to an increase in the average grain size of the elongated coarse grains from the middle layer of the equiaxed fine grain zone to the elongated coarse grain surface layer. The resulting gradient structure improves the material synergy. The microstructure evolution mechanism of the alloy during symmetric plastic deformation was analyzed. The initial grains underwent DDRX, CDRX, and shear deformation-induced dynamic recrystallization (SDDRX) during the RZ extrusion stage, the grains were significantly refined, and the basal texture intensity was significantly weakened during the SD extrusion stage. The effect of extrusion temperature (400 °C, 450 °C, 500 °C) on the alloys in the forming zone after ES extrusion was further investigated. Tensile tests on Mg laminates prepared by the extrusion method showed that the ultimate tensile strength (UTS) of the samples prepared at 450 °C was 265 MPa and the elongation (EL) was 23.8 %. The significant improvement in the yield tensile strength (YTS) of the composite Mg alloys post-ES processing is primarily attributed to the fine-grained (FG) interior, while the increase in elongation is due to the coarse-grained (CG) exterior. This study presents a novel approach to enhancing the mechanical properties of Mg alloys, offering a promising direction for the development of advanced materials with superior strength and ductility.

Innovative process for improving functional and sensory quality of black garlic

Black garlic (BG) is an aged product high in brown melanoidin pigment and functional quality, however, the long aging process limits its commercial production. The present investigation was undertaken to develop an innovative process for improving the functional quality of BG as well as shortening the aging duration. Peeled garlic was subjected to two pre-treatment steps viz. Freeze-thaw (FT) and blanching (BL) followed by ascorbic acid (AA) infusion and effects were monitored during aging. Non-enzymatic browning, the main visible indicator of MR was significantly (p < 0.05) high in FT garlic due to high infused AA content. The pre-treated garlic showed significantly (p< 0.05) high fructose content (6-7-fold) over the control on the 6th day of aging. The treatment also enhanced the total phenolic content (2.5–3.0-fold) and antioxidant activity (14-fold) while reducing the processing time from 18 to 12 days. The soluble solid content (58.7 °B) and Fast index (fluorescent of advanced Maillard reaction products and soluble tryptophan) was maximum (305.2) in FT garlic on the 12th day. FTIR confirmed a strong peak at 1515 cm−1 depicting the dark nature of the BG subjected to FT. The innovative short process saved 50% of energy in production and was 43% more economical compared to its control counterpart. Overall sensory quality of FT garlic in terms of color, flavour and texture was on par with control except BL sample which showed high stickiness and low score values. Overall results suggest that FT treatment followed by infusion of ascorbic acid accelerated the Maillard reaction (MR), and improved the functional quality of BG.

Alternative drying method for chontaduro pulp (Bactris gasipaes) by pulsed microwaves: Physicochemical analysis and kinetic model

Chontaduro (Bactris gasipaes), is a species of palm common in Central and South America. This perishable fruit is classified as a drupe. The objective of this research was to evaluate pulsed-microwave drying effect on physicochemical properties and kinetic models of two chontaduro varieties (yellow and red). The results showed that fresh yellow and red chontaduros contained 55.01 % and 64.6 % of moisture, and 6.85 % and 7.03 % of protein, respectively. Both pulsed-microwave and convective drying (control) successfully produced dehydrated materials with moisture contents below 10 % and water activities around 0.2, indicating stable products. The pulsed-microwave drying required significantly less time to reduce the water content in the fruits than convective process. In drying kinetics, all mathematical models were suitable to describe the experimental data, with the Page model showing the highest accuracy according to R2 and lowest RSEM and χ2 values. pH, acidity, fat, fiber, and ash content did not show changes after drying. However, thermally sensitive compounds, as protein and β-carotenes, were affected. Samples after pulsed-microwave drying presented 3.63 % and 5.19 % of protein for yellow and red samples, respectively. β-carotenes were reduced until to 55.51 % by pulsed-microwave and 56.96 % for convective drying. Pulsed-microwave drying is an alternative method to obtain dried products with appropriate physicochemical properties, where the heat mechanism does not adversely affect food characteristics during a short processing time. The non-traditional drying methods are a viable alternative to obtain new dried products from conventional or non-conventional sources with good physical, chemical and nutritional properties, as an increasingly demanding market.

Design of a bifunctional prepolymer for simultaneously facile preparation and highly efficient electrodialysis of anion exchange membranes

A facile fabrication process for separation membranes is crucial to decrease the production cost, while the photo-polymerization approach can be conducted at ambient conditions with short processing time and low energy consumption. Herein, this work designs a bifunctional prepolymer for simultaneously facile preparation and highly efficient electrodialysis of poly (2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene oxide) (PPO) anion exchange membranes. PPO is selected as the main skeleton of prepolymer because of the excellent mechanical and thermal stability. The dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate (DMAEMA) is grafted with brominated PPO by quaternization, where it contains cationic groups, i.e. quaternary ammonium, and photopolymerized groups, i.e. methacrylate C = C. This resulting prepolymer can be fast polymerized under UV irradiation via C = C from DMAEMA. This structure is synergistically regulated by the amounts of crosslinker DMAEMA and modifier N-bromosuccinimide. The optimized membrane exhibits an excellent ion exchange capacity of 2.19 mmol g−1, a water uptake of 38.17 %, and a tensile strength of 4.8 MPa. Meanwhile, its electrolyzer cell performance achieves a density of 580 mA cm−2 at an adjusted voltage of 2.1 V, and the desalination rate of seawater during electrodialysis reaches 98.34 %. This work provides a universal and facile fabrication route for high-performance AEMs.
