Objective: To identify the level of knowledge and information about Toxoplasma gondii in medical students and to determine the seroepidemiological frequency of IgG and IgM antibodies in students evaluated in the medical career. Methodology: application of a validated questionnaire on the parasite Toxoplasma gondii and the manifestations of toxoplasmosis to group of students, and serological determination of IgG and IgM antitoxoplasma antibodies by ELISA, convenience sample, qualitative-quantitative descriptive study, Results: show that students have knowledge regarding the pathogen is a parasite 64.1%, is a human parasite 96.2%, transmission in cats 64.9%, clinical presentation of the disease, regarding the type of tissues it infects the nervous system 88.8% and the fetus by vertical transmission 82.1%, lungs 59.9% and eyes 51.4%, causes blindness 50.7% and subclinical disease 59.9%. IgG antibodies 19.4% and IgM 2.23% showing that students have had contact with the parasite Discussion: Medical students demonstrated knowledge of the parasite and clinical presentation, the results were compared with doctors, observing similar levels of knowledge, which shows that the students surveyed have knowledge of their professional area, in addition they gave seroprevalence for having had contact with the parasite through their habits.
