Analisis Konteks Wacana dan Tindak Tutur Pada Cerpen ‘Gubrak!' Karya Seno Gumira Ajidarma dalam Kajian Pragmatik

The purpose of this research is to 1) find out and classify the context of the discourse on the Cerpen Gubrak! by Seno Gumira Ajidarma, 2) classification of submissions to each type, and 3) describe the mandate/massage of the meaning contained in the short story on students’ character education. This research uses qualitative descriptive research methods and data analysis techniques using literature study techniques, and data collection is by searching library sources (cerpen) from the internet, then reading and recording for data analysis purposes, then analysing research data. The results of the research on the Cerpen Gubrak! by Seno Gumira Ajidarma have implicit meanings so that researchers find meaning and respect that we can learn for everyday life as a form of appreciation and experience for both researchers and readers. Based on the results of the study, the researchers classified the analytical data found to each element and described the meaning contained in the context of the discourse. The results of the follow-up analysis data based on the above data are 2 locations, 3 illusions, and 5 perlocations.

Kajian Naskah Drama Lumpur Kemiskinan Karya Marjan Fariq Menggunakan Pendekatan Pragmatik

This research aims to examine the manuscript of Lumpur Kemiskinan by Marjan Fariq which is an adaptation of the short story Gerobak by Seno Gumira Ajidarma using a pragmatic approach. The research method used is descriptive-qualitative. The data collection techniques used to obtain data are reading, note-taking and research techniques from various literature. The results of the research show that the drama drama Lumpur Kemiskinan by Marjan Fariq has many life values that can be learned by readers, namely a) having a sense of empathy and caring for fellow humans, b) being sensitive to things around you, c) don't always have negative prejudices. towards other people, d) avoid selfishness which can harm other people, e) respect each other without feeling superior, f) don't always depend on other people, and g) always be grateful for the good fortune you have obtained.

Analisis Ikon Pada Cerpen “Gubrak!” Karya Seno Gumira Adjidarma

This study aims to analyze a short story entitled "Gubrak!" by Seno Gumira Ajidarma using Charles Sanders Pierce's Semiotics approach. Pierce developed a theory of semiotics involving three main elements: sign, object, and interpretant. Pierce's semiotic theory provides an in-depth understanding of how language signs are used to represent objects in the real world as well as how meaning is generated through the interpretation of these signs. But the author only focuses on one of them, namely on the Icon contained in the short story. We found several marker icons in the short story "Gubrak!" by Seno Gumira that we can analyze together.

Analisis Nilai Kehidupan Dalam Cerpen “Gubrak” Karya Seno Gumira Ajidarma Dengan Pendekatan Semiotika

Literary works are literary results, creations in the form of poems, prose, and plays (drama). Literary works are born as embodiments or depictions of life poured through the medium of writing. Therefore, it is closely related between literature and life. Through literature, the reader can express the meaning behind the work of the author. This research would examine a short story entitled "Gubrak!" by Seno Gumira Ajidarma. "Gubrak!" short story tells about a beauty that actually creates its own wounds. The purpose of this study was to describe the meaning of multiplication (perlexia) and the analysis of the five Barthes codes contained in the short story "Gubrak!" using Roland Barthes's theory of semiotics. The methods used in this study were qualitative descriptive methods as well as semiotic approaches with Roland Barthes' five-code semiotic theory consisting of hermeneutic codes, semic codes, symbolic codes, action codes, and referential codes. The result of this study was the discovery of 53 lexicons, each of which has a meaning, including 9 hermeneutic codes, 29 semic codes, 5 action codes, 3 referential codes, and 8 symbolic codes. Through this analysis, the meaning and message could be drawn that you have enough because anything excessive is not good. This research would analyze the hidden signs in each word or sentence in the short story. Barthes semiotics was used to find out the meaning contained in the short story so it is interesting to study using the Barthes five-code approach.

PEREMPUAN DAN PERKOSAAN MEI 1998 DALAM DUA CERPEN KARYA SENO GUMIRA AJIDARMA: KRITIK SASTRA FEMINIS

The May 1998 rape is one of the historic events that has yet to be resolved. This event is portrayed in literary works as a sociocultural document. Seno Gumira Ajidarma as the author and journalist describes the incident through his short stories, namely "Clara" (1998) and "Jakarta, 14 February 2039" (1999). The short story about the rape in May 1998 is full of women's issues and gender injustice in society. This study seeks to uncover how female characters and the rape in May 1998 are depicted in short stories using a radical feminist literary criticism. Descriptive-qualitative method is used in this research. The results of the analysis show that the May 1998 rapes show a gender imequality, because women are seen as parties who have the right to be controlled by men. Even in the act of rape, women are only seen as an object. Because of the rape, female characters, both victims of violence and children born from rape, have to bear the severe trauma. This is in accordance with the radical feminist view that rape is the basis for men to practice their power and control over women, and the demand that women must regain control over their body autonomy.

DIMENSI CINTA DALAM CERPEN SEBUAH PERTANYAAN UNTUK CINTA DAN CERPEN WHAT WE TALK ABOUT WHEN WE TALK ABOUT LOVE

This study intends to compare the two short stories entitled Sebuah Pertanyaan untuk Cinta by Seno Gumira Ajidarma with the short story What We Talk About When We Talk About Love by Raymond Carver. This research uses qualitative descriptive, in order to describe the dimensions of love from the two short stories with psychological aspects. The method used is to examine the psychological aspects of the characters, then compare the contents of the two short stories based on the dimensions of love. The object of comparative literature discussed is related to the dimension of love. The library technique is a data acquisition process. The results of this study are that there are various human efforts in exploring the dimensions of love based on psychology. Each of these dimensions affects the behavior of individuals in behaving and thinking when oriented. Therefore, the dimensions of love that are studied by psychology consist of the id, ego, and superego which are then analyzed based on the dimensions of love including, domination, self-process, commitment, attachment, satisfaction, and conflict.Keywords: Short Stories, Dimensions of Love, Psychology, Comparative Literature.

The Analysis of Locutionary, Illocutionary, and Perlocutionary of Speech Acts in the Short Story "Rembulan dalam Cappuccino" by Seno Gumira Ajidarma

The aims of this research are to analyze and to identify the forms of locutionary, illocutionary, and perlocutionary of speech acts in “Rembulan dalam Cappuccino” short story by Seno Gumira Ajidarma. The locutionary, illocutionary, and perlocutionary of speech acts are the scope of Pragmatics where we know, one of the fields of linguistics that studies language along with its context is also called pragmatics. Basically, pragmatics is a scientific study that studies how a language is used in communication. In contrast to linguistics which studies and discusses the structure of language internally, pragmatic studies examine the meanings of external lingual units. The approach used in this research is qualitative approach with a pragmatic study. Then, the research method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method. The data and data sources used in this study is “Rembulan dalam Cappuccino” short story by Seno Gumira Ajidarma, and other sources such as books, articles, journals, and previous research that related to the locutionary, illocutionary, and perlocutionary of speech acts study. The data collection technique that writer used is library research, with data analysis technique in the form of identifying and classifying data, analyzing and presenting data, and conclusion or verification. The result showed that there were 15 dialogues that contain types of locutionary, illocutionary, and perlocutionary of speech acts from a total of 25 dialogues in that short story. As many as 13 dialogues that containing the type of locutionary, 15 dialogues that containing the types of illocutionary, and 1 dialogue which is a type of perlocutionary of speech acts.

ANALISIS ASPEK PEMENUHAN TOKOH SUKAB DALAM NOVEL SEPOTONG SENJA UNTUK PACARKU KARYA SENO GUMIRA AJIDARMA (KAJIAN TEORI HUMANISTIK ABRAHAM MASLOW)

The novel Sepotong Senja Untuk Pacarku by Seno Gumira Ajidarma includes 16 short story compositions regarding dusk that bind together reflection stories about life which are written in an absurd and unique style by the author. Based on this, this novel has its own charm to be studied further by implementing a literary psychology approach based on Abraham Maslow's humanistic theory because it is closely related to reality which includes the depth of human nature, conscience, changes in attitudes and changes in mindset. The formulation of the problem in this study is how the concept of the hierarchy of needs and the form of its fulfillment for the Sukab character in the novel Sepotong Senja Untuk Pacarku is based on the humanistic psychology aspect of Abraham Maslow and how the Sukab character self-actualizes based on the study of Abraham Maslow's humanistic psychology. This type of research uses a qualitative descriptive method. Descriptive is stated because in this study the researcher describes the data to be analyzed in the form of the psychological aspect of the character Sukab in the novel Sepotong Senja Untuk Pacarku by Seno Gumira Ajidarma based on the study of humanistic psychology of Abraham Maslow. Data collection techniques used in this research are literature study techniques and note-taking techniques. Based on the results of the research, in the novel Sepotong Senja Untuk Pacarku, it is found that several aspects of multilevel needs include physiological needs, security needs, love and belonging needs, self-esteem needs and self-actualization. Escapism Towards the Surreal Arena in Negeri Senja

“Negeri Senja” tells the story of a country that never has morning, noon, or night because there is only dusk every day. The surreal arena built into the story brings anxiety during the reading process even to the end of the open ending. The problems in this novel are framed textually. This research aims to express these concerns based on textual analysis of the novel “Negeri Senja” by Seno Gumira Ajidarma. The research method used is literary psychology, specifically Carl Gustav Jung's psychoanalysis of consciousness and unconsciousness. Content and discussion are presented in the form of qualitative descriptive analysis. The results of the textual study show that the main character in the story is undergoing a process of escapism or attitude that avoids reality and avoids all difficulties. The surreal arena in the form of “Negeri Senja” is interpreted as the center of the main character's escapism so that all reading concerns can be explained.

This study discusses the use of active and passive diathesis sentences contained in the short story. This study aims to provide an overview of the use of active-passive diathesis sentences in the short story text. The method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method with content analysis techniques of sentence variations. The object of this research uses the sentences contained in the book collection of short stories "Don't Sing in the Bathroom" by Seno Gumira Ajidarma. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the use of sentences with active diathesis is more often used, namely 76.4% compared to sentences with passive diathesis, which is 23.6%

COOPERATIVE PRINCIPLE IN NOVEL “DRUPADI” BY SENO GUMIRA AJIDARMA: GRICE’S PERSPECTIVE

This study discusses the flouting and violation of the cooperative principles in the novel "Drupadi" by Seno Gumira Ajidarma. The purpose of this study is to examine the utterances in the novel "Drupadi" by Seno Gumira Ajidarma those that apply and violate Grice’s cooperative principle (four maxims). The four maxims are the maxim of relation, the maxim of manner, the maxim of quality, and the maxim of quantity. This research collected data through the technique of reading and writing. The data analysis techniques are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The results show that twelve words are included in the utterances that adhere to the cooperative principle. Six expressions obey the relevance/relational maxim, one expression obey the maxim of manner, four obey the quality maxim, and one utterance obey the quantity maxim. The researcher also found speeches that violated the cooperative principle as many as three words. Two utterances violate the quality maxim, and one utterance violates the quantity maxim, no utterance violates the maxim of the relevance and maxim of the way.

Bare life production and the author's criticism in the short story "Manuel" by Seno Gumira Ajidarma: the study of agamben’s sociology of literature

The short story “Manuel” written by Seno Gumira Ajidarma set in the Santa Cruz incident in Dili (1991), raised humanitarian issues in the relation to state power. East Timor citizens lost their human rights because of the Indonesian military invasion of their territory, and were in a homo sacer or bare life situation. This research uses the theory of political philosophy developed by Giorgio Agamben. The method used is descriptive qualitative. The research questions that are trying to be answered: first, how does the state impose the state of exception so that it raises bare life in short story “Manuel?”; and second, how does the author form of criticism through the short story “Manuel?” towards the New Order citizenship politics? The finding of this study are: first, First, the motive for the application of the state of exception is using the pretext of integration, anticipation of communism, development, and agreements related to the exploration of Timor Gap; and secondly, criticism of the state was conveyed through the speeches of the figure of Manuel, borrowing the speech of East Timor activists, and the adoption of discourse of resistance to the Indonesia military. However, this strategy has an impact on the originality of criticism which deserves to be questioned again.

EKSISTENSI PEREMPUAN DALAM NOVEL KITAB OMONG KOSONG KARYA SENO GUMIRA AJIDARMA : KAJIAN FEMINISME EKSISTENSIALIS SIMONE DE BEAUVOIR

The background of this research is the significance of women’s awareness in the construction of women’s existence including the existence of women characters in a novel. This research is aimed to discover the types of women’s marginalization in Seno Gumira Ajidarma’s Kitab Omong Kosongand to find the model of women’s resistance as the manifestation of existence. The reference theory of women’s existance is a feminist theory proposed by France feminist, Simone de Beauvoir. In this research, Ajidarma’s Kitab Omong Kosongis used as the data source, while the Beauvoir’s theory is adopted as the object. This is a descriptive-qualitative research using documentation method. In analyzing the data, the techniques used were reading and writing notes, which, then the results of analyzing process were presented descriptively. Those results show that the type of women’s marginalization appeared in Ajidarma’s novel is in the form of women’s position considered low and subordinate, which, then, issues numbers of different forms of violence against women. Then, the resistances of women characters found as the forms of women’s existence in this research are women’s struggle for intellectuality, women’s refusal to be the victim of society, and women’s decision for their own fate.

The Othering of Majority and Minority Groups in Lessing and Ajidarma’s Literary Works: A Postcolonial Analysis

A postcolonial reading of literary works remains relevant since the characters, stories and various issues related to the colonial domination discussed in literary texts may serve as a means for its readers to learn more about life under colonialism. This article examines how Doris Lessing, a British-Rhodesian author, and Seno Gumira Ajidarma, an Indonesian author, reveal the issue of discrimination of African native community and Indonesian-Chinese community because of the act of othering, respectively, from a postcolonial lens. This study used the critical content analysis technique on two literary works, namely Lessing’s short story entitled “No Witchcraft for Sale” and Ajidarma’s short story entitled “Clara”, which is based on Spivak’s theory of othering. Specific dialogues and utterances related to instances of discrimination were analyzed to uncover the othering of individuals, in this case, the main characters of the stories Lessing’s short story captures the struggles encountered by the main character named Gideon, who belongs to the majority group, while Ajidarma’s short story provides the portrayal of a young native Indonesian-Chinese descent who is a member of a minority group. The study found that Gideon faced racial discrimination and on the other hand, Clara faces racial and gender discrimination. By comparing two different literary works coming from two different cultures, nationalities, and historical backgrounds focusing on the issues of othering from a postcolonial perspective, this article can serve as a means for its readers to learn more about how the discrimination stemmed from different histories and how cultural background can create similar outcomes.

Variety of Social Conflicts in Novel Drupadi Karya Seno Gumira Ajidarma

Conflict is something that cannot be avoided in social life. With the conflict, the community will be more intelligent in dealing with life and life. That is what is seen in the Drupadi novel by Seno Gumira Ajidarma. Seno Gumira Ajidarma manifests social conflict by using the uniqueness of abstract language. Social conflict is portrayed by Seno Gumira Ajidarma by asserting something with others so that the social conflict that is portrayed becomes more interesting, because it is very different in its delivery with other works. Based on then this study aims to describe the forms of social conflict and the causes of social conflict. This type of research is qualitative using the method of analysis description to explain the results of the study. The data collection technique used is descriptive literature study. The results showed that the forms and causes of social conflict were found in the form of (1) Gender conflict caused by social change, (2) Inter-group conflict caused by individual differences, (3) Conflict of interest caused by conflict of interests both in terms of economic or political, (4) Interpersonal conflicts caused by individual differences, (5) Conflicts between Social Classes, (6) Conflicts between countries / nations caused by conflicts of interests both economically or politically.

DEKONSTRUKSI MAKNA PELACUR DALAM ATAS NAMA MALAM KARYA SENO GUMIRA AJIDARMA

Prostitutes often get a negative meaning, not only in their profession but also in their identity markers. This stigma has put them in a low hierarchy compared to other professions as their opposite meaning. This research aims to find out various binary oppositions related to prostitute, dominant logic, and meaning invention of prostitute in a collection of short stories of Atas Nama Malam of Seno Gumira Ajidarma. The problem in this study is what is binary opposition, the dominant logic in the text and how the invention of the meaning of the prostitute after being deconstructed in SGA’s short stories. This study used Derrida's deconstruction method with a comprehensive reading strategy in searching for binary oppositions of prostitute. Reconstruction of the text was also carried out to find the dominant logic contained in the text, including the interpretation of other assumptions to then be distorted from the hierarchical structure of the binary oppositions, that is finding the invention of meaning. This study found that there were seven binary oppositions of prostitute, namely a man, morning/afternoon worker, doctor, teacher, official wife, murderer, and harmonious family shaper. The meaning of prostitute finds its invention as the people who are responsible for her family, helper/hero, honest, and victim.

THEATER PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS FORBIDDEN FROM SINGING IN BATH ROOM BY SENO GUMIRA AJIDARMA THEATER HAD STUDY PROGRAM IN INDONESIAN LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE EDUCATION TRUNOJOYO MADURA UNIVERSITY (CARLES SANDERS PEARCE SEMIOTIC STUDY)

This research is descriptive qualitative research that examines theatrical performances of scripts. It is forbidden to sing in the bathroom. The work of Seno GumiraAjiDarma is the study of semiotic carlesanderspearce. The formulation of the problem in this research is how the study of semiotics in the tetater show had once been conducted by the PBSI Study Program using the study of semiotic carles sanders Pearce. Data collection techniques using documentation techniques, note, and see. The analysis technique used is reducing data, promising data, and verifying data. From the results of the study concluded that the semiotics that appear on signs and markers in the form of symbols are the dance of the bathroom, sound, and the shadow of the bathroom. The index aspect is in the form of actor actions in the form of exoticism, anxiety, admiration, exoticism, and the imagination of the actor. The iconic aspect is shown in one of the events, namely the social environment in the form of a house, bathroom, and boarding house.
