IMPLEMENTASI SENAYAN LIBRARY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (SLIMS): STUDI PENELITIAN KUALITATIF

The aim of the research is to analyze the implementation of the Senayan Library Management System (SLiMS) at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (Man) 2 Karawang. The method used is a qualitative method with a case study approach model and literature study in this research. The data collection used is the documentation method. The data sources for this research were obtained from relevant literature such as books, academic articles and journals related to the selected topic. The results of this research are the SLiMS planning, the Principal of MAN 2 Karawang makes a time schedule, namely in the form of programs that will be planned. Such as short-term programs, medium-term programs and long-term programs. Then in the recruitment system, staff are selected according to their skills, abilities, knowledge and strong will. The implementation of the Senayan Library Management System (SLiMS) activities at the MAN 2 Karawang library has been quite effective. Since 2019 MAN 2 Karawang has been using SLiMS in library services until now. Started making barcodes for two thousand curtilage books which were revised in 2017.

PENGELOLAAN KOLEKSI MUSEUM MUSIK INDONESIA BERBASIS APLIKASI OPEN SOURCE

The Indonesian Music Museum stores various music collections in the form of cassettes, compact discs, vinyl records, and music-related books. This self-managed museum has the potential to become an institution that stores musical works from various countries. Management has been carried out properly, starting from inventory of collections to registration, but still manually. The implementation of the Senayan Library Management System (SLiMS), which is an open source based application, is one solution for managing collections more quickly and making it possible to access them remotely. The method used in this research is a qualitative study using observations and interviews so that it can produce an appropriate management system for the museum. The main informants are museum managers who are considered to understand the metadata needs of their museum collections. All results of observations and interviews are used as guidelines in determining any changes to the applications used to manage collections at the Indonesian Music Museum. This research produces an open source application-based museum collection inventory system. Several changes and adjustments were made to this application so that it could be implemented in the museum. Terms referring to library collections were changed and adapted to the use of terms relevant to music collections. The grouping of collections based on music genres and artists' regions of origin which is usually carried out by the museum is still maintained to become the characteristic of this museum itself. The Indonesian Music Museum can implement this application in a sustainable and long-term manner. Using this system helps the museum to obtain data records of collections and their movements, as well as inventory data on collections currently owned.

Portable Library Automation Systems Implementation and Training in an Elementary School

School libraries play a crucial role in literacy development by providing reading materials to students. Implementing library automation systems is an effective solution, enabling simplified cataloging, circulation control, and reporting. Automated systems streamline resource management and expand user access. The Senayan Library Management System (SLiMS), a freely available program developed to streamline library processes, is recognized as a potential option for enhancing a school's library feature and developing educational institution assets. The objectives of this community service were to implement a library automation system to enhance the school library features and services. Also, this activity was for system implementation experiences for the higher students. The community service initiatives were carried out in the SDN Gadog 2, Indonesia, between September and October of 2023. This concludes that SLiMS was successfully implemented, trained, and helpful as it enhances the flexibility of borrowing and accessing books.

The Implementation of a SLiMS-Based Library Automation System Towards the Improvement of Library Quality at FMIPA UNM Makassar

This research aims to find out 1) The Implementation of the SLiMS automation management system in the Makassar State University FMIPA library, 2) Quality improvement with the SLiMS automation system in the Makassar State University FMIPA library and 3) advantages and disadvantages with the SLIMS automation system in the Makassar State University FMIPA library. This research uses descriptive qualitative research while the research approach used is field research. The data sources are from the head of the library and library staff as well as visitors to the FMIPA UNM Library. The data collection methods used in this research are observation, interviews and documentation. The research instrument in this research is the researcher himself. Then the data processing and analysis techniques are carried out in three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this research indicate that the implementation of the automation management system in the Makassar State University FMIPA Library uses the Open Source Senayan Library Management System (SLiMS) automation system. The SLiMS automation system is supported by hardware and software so that the system can run. The hardware used is generally the same, a collection of computers connected to a network, the difference is the software used in the library automation system. The Library quality by using the SLiMS automation system is way better. Users find it easier to use the system, its services, and to obtain information on the books they are seeking. In addition, the automation system of the Open Source Senayan Library Management System (SLIMS) has the benefit of facilitating readers' search for information about wanted books as well as librarians' and staff's ability to finish tasks in the library. The downside is that users are unable to access information remotely because the program is still offline.

Pendampingan Penggunaan Slims (Senayan Library Management System) Dalam Upaya Revitalisasi Perpustakaan Sekolah Dasar

This community service program is the revitalization of the library at SDN Karanglegi 01 Trangkil Pati. The background to this activity is the poor condition of the school library so that its function is not optimal. This service method is ABCD (Asset Based Community Based) using 5D steps (Discovery, Dream, Design, Define, and Destiny). The parties involved in this service are lecturers, KKN students, teachers and students. This activity includes several things such as assistance in using the library information system and redesigning the library. The result of this activity was that the school succeeded in reorganizing the library using the SLiMS (Senayan Library Management System) information system. The servants conducted workshops for teachers about this system as well as accompanying them on installation and use. After that, improvements were made to the layout and reading material aspects. Layout by arranging bookcases, reading areas and beautifying the library. The number of reading materials was increased by borrowing via cross-leverage from PERPUSDA Pati and also open donations of reading books.

ANALYSIS OF DIGITAL LIBRARY SERVICE QUALITY ON USER SATISFACTION USING WEBQUAL, LIBQUAL AND IPA METHODS

Universitas Pahlawan Tuanku Tambusai has used the information system Senayan Library Management System (SLiMS) version 7. SliMS is an integrated system to provide information to support operational, management and decision-making functions in libraries. However, there are still obstacles in its use, namely, the lack of tools and technology to support the implementation of the SLiMS system, the unattractive SliMS content, the OPAC service menu is less effective in searching for references in the library, and the book collection is rarely updated so it does not meet what the user needs. This study aims to measure the service quality of SLiMS from the user's perspective. This research instrument used Web Quality (WebQual), Library Quality (LibQual), and Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) methods. The results of this study resulted in a good level of system service quality but GAP was still found from perceived performance which still had a value of <0 or -0.63 and a conformity level of 78%, which meant that there were still results of user dissatisfaction with the performance provided by the service. The Reading Group of Gelaran Jambu Daar El-fikr or often called Gelaran Jambu was initiated and pioneered in 2008. It's located in Jambu Village, Kayen Kidul District, Kediri Regency. As an alternative education for local residents besides school, it is also a creative community that wants to develop personal potential through book- based education. Gelaran Jambu has more than 3000 books with various titles and genres. Children's books to adult books are available. Since September 2021 Gelaran Jambu has been using Senayan Library Management System (Slims), a web-based open-source application to fulfill library needs. Slims can be accessed for free and modified according to library needs. After the system has been operated for some time, it is necessary to measure its effectiveness to see the extent to which the goals have been achieved. Measuring the effectiveness of information systems using the Delone & Mclean IS Success Model theory with the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method. It is using a quantitative approach with descriptive statistical research techniques. The tool used to analyze the data is SmartPLS. The sample data used was 47. The results found three acceptable hypotheses and six hypotheses that were not accepted. The accepted hypotheses are System Quality to usage and User Satisfaction. And Usage to net benefits. Hypotheses that are not accepted: Information Quality to usage and User Satisfaction, Service Quality to usage and User Satisfaction, Usage to User Satisfaction, and User Satisfaction to Net benefits.

Desain Sistem Informasi Perpustakaan Universitas Antakusuma Menggunakan Platform SLiMS (Senayan Library Management System)

Library is one of the important elements in higher education institutions because library provides various forms of references and literature for lecturers and students according to their needs and scientific fields. The same thing happened at Antakusuma University which is one of the higher education institutions located in Pangkalan Bun, Central Kalimantan. At Antakusuma University, the library management is divided into 1 (one) Central Library Unit which is managed at the university level and 4 (four) faculty library sub-units which include: 1) Faculty of Economics Library; 2) Law Faculty Library; 3) Library of the Faculty of Agriculture; and 4) Engineering Faculty Library. However, the existence of the library units at Antakusuma University are not managed properly, because all activities are carried out manually so that they are considered less effective and efficient. In addition, there is no interconnection between the central library and the faculty library units which makes the management of the library units and sub-units is still independent. Based on the background mentioned above, this research aims to design and build a library information system using the open source Senayan Library Management System (SliMS) platform which can facilitate the computerized library management process which is more effective and efficient than before. In addition, this research also aims to integrate the central library and the faculty library which were previously managed independently. The output of this study is in the form of a library information system application that can be used by the Antakusuma University library unit.

Capacity Building of Library Human Resources through Senayan Library Management System (SLIMs) Training for Digital-Based Collection Processing

Background: Library is one of the supporting elements in the learning process in the institutions. The circulation of borrowing and returning books is an activity that runs in the library. The process of improving library services can be carried out by officers through various aspects started from the development of collection materials to the dissemination of information. However, in current conditions, there are still many circulation service processes carried out by libraries using conventional media by recording in the library ledger for every user who borrows books. Contribution: The purpose of the activity is to provide knowledge to library managers to be able to take advantage of the Senayan Library Management System (SLiMS) in improving library services. Method: The methodology used is through training and counseling to a librarian. Results: The results of community service activities that have been carried out are the transformation of library processing using digital media in the form of the SLiMS application. Improved services to library users are becoming more optimal. This can be seen in the list of visits increasing to 30% every month and regulations on borrowing books reaching 25%, while delays in returning books have decreased to 2%. This has an impact because the process of tracking book collections is very easy so that the identities of the users are stored and can be monitored by librarian. Conclusion: Services to library members are getting better and the knowledge of library managers is getting optimal in carrying out library processing with the help of SLiMS

KEGIATAN PENGATALOGAN DI PERPUSTAKAAN KELUARGA EFENDI

In the information era that is growing rapidly and increasingly advanced as it is today, the public's need for information is growing rapidly. Family libraries play an important role in meeting information needs, especially the information needs of library members. Although the scope of the family library is narrow because library members only consist of family members and/or family relatives, but with the existence of a family library, family library members can find their own information needs. Examine how to process library materials in the family library, namely the Efendi Family Library to facilitate users of the Efendi Family Library. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research method. The object of this research is the cataloging system in the Efendi Family Library. This research was conducted from November 15 to December 6, 2021 at the Efendi Family Library. Bibliography regarding the increasing number of user information needs and various user characteristics, the bibliography is used as an effort to improve the quality of information retrieval quickly and accurately. Senayan Library Management system (SLiMS) is a web-based Open Source Software (OSS) to meet the needs of library automation from small to large scale. The utilization of the Senayan Library Management system (SLiMS) application at the Efendi Family Library has not been said to be optimal because it has not utilized the features contained in the Senayan Library Management system (SLiMS) application.

Elementary School Library Automation System Implementation

A library is essential in education, especially in elementary schools. SD Negeri Rambutan 03 Pagi Jakarta is a public school in East Jakarta with a library. The school library was managed manually, where books with detailed information were stored on a spreadsheet. Some library processes could not perform well, such as tracing how many books were on loan. Based on this situation, a library management system was required to support library activities. Sampoerna University had several collaborations with SD Negeri Rambutan 03 Pagi Jakarta for community services, a workshop, and an internship. In this community service opportunity, We used a qualitative method with internal discussions and literature reviews. We provided a dedicated server machine to be placed on-premise. This machine will be a library automation system over the school's Local Area Network (LAN). Senayan Library Management System (SLiMS) was chosen to be installed on the server because it has the required features to support the school library. One of the essential things is that SLiMS is free and open source. The library automation system has been successfully implemented, and there will be future community service activities to continue the library system development.

APPLICATION OF SENAYAN LIBRARY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (SLIMS) FOR LIBRARY COLLECTION AND INFORMATION MANAGEMENT AT RELIGIOUS TRAINING CENTER OF ACEH

Library management ideally use an automation system to provide optimal services. However, the library management in The Religious Education and Training Center of Aceh (BDK Aceh) has been done manually, which impacted on less effective and efficient performance. Therefore, it is important to optimize the library management at BDK Aceh. This study focused on describing the stages in optimizing the collection management of the BDK Aceh library through Senayan Library Management System (SLiMS) application. Sources of data in this study were the Head of BDK Aceh, librarian, staffs, and trainers of BDK Aceh. This study showed seven stages of SLiMS utilization; (1) coordinating and consulting, (2) downloading and installing SLiMS into the library computer, (3) uploading the bibliographic data of library collections on the SLiMS application, (4) uploading the cover of library collections, (5) setting the SLiMS online to the internet, (6) socializing the automation system, (7) evaluating the automation system. This library management using SLiMS at BDK Aceh has resulted in five outputs, namely: (1) bibliographic databases in digital form, (2) video tutorials on the use of automation systems, (3) an online library with the website librarybdkaceh.com, (4) online circulation services, and (5) automatic library membership cards. The use of the SLIMs escalates performance in library collections managements, thus resulted in better service quality which suits the regulations of the industrial revolution. Users can easily browse information about library collection and access the BDK Aceh library anywhere and anytime through the website. The Telegram notification system for improving library services Universitas Negeri Semarang

The pandemic period limits every activity, including library services, causing the communication distance between users and librarians to widen. Users often forgetting to return books, so the fines accumulated, and often forget and lose borrowed books. The communication distance between librarians and library users can be narrowed through an automatic reminder system to remind users of important information regarding fines, services, and others. This study aimed to know the Telegram notification system for improving library services. Universitas Negeri Semarang also supports the use of Telegram as a notification system. This study applied the Research and Development (RnD) method in The Senayan Library Management System (SLiMS) development, supported by an integration method using Middleware Integration. The use of the paired t-test in this study showed that this reminder mechanism successfully informed library members of the time limit for borrowing books and late fees. A significant relationship exists between before and after the installation of Telegram as a useful reminder system to avoid the accumulation of fines by customers. This reminder system was also beneficial to avoid users accumulating fines, it can be seen that the number of users who are late in returning books is decreasing as the notification system is implemented. Good communication between librarians and customers through an information system intermediary improves user service.

Assistance in Library Management Based on the Senayan Library Management System (SliMS) at SMA Darut Taqwa Purwosari

This community service program is carried out in the form of library management assistance based on SLiMS at Darut Taqwa High School, Purwosari Pasuruan. Libraries have an important role in building a learning community, as well as school libraries. The school library is a strategic educational facility, because apart from supporting learning activities. The school library is also one of the barometers of school quality standards. Darut Taqwa High School was chosen as a mentoring partner on the basis that this institution is one of the institutions in Pasuruan Regency that has received an A (excellent) accreditation. However, the quality standard of library administration is still far from the national library standard. This assistance uses the participatory approach. The steps for implementing this assistance are focused on 1) selecting the assisted person, 2) installing the SLiMS application, 3) the SLiMS operation tutorial, and 4) managing the SLiMS-based library. The results of this assistance are 1) the availability of library staff at Darut Taqwa High School who understands SLiMS-based library management, 2) the availability of a SLiMS-based library automation system, 3) the creation of a system for managing library materials, members, and library administration, and 4) the creation of a good library layout that is quite close to the minimum standard of the national library.

Pengelolaan Perpustakaan Sekolah Terautomasi Berbasis SLiMS 9(Bulian) Di SMPN 4 Lubuk Alung Kabupaten Padang Pariaman

The purpose of this Community Partnership Program (PKM) activity is to solve school library problems in the application of information technology by providing understanding and skills in information technology-based school library management using the Senayan Library Management System (SLiMS) 9 Bulian application in accordance with the standards set for librarians or teachers. placed in the school library. In this activity, problems will be completely solved starting from understanding concepts and carrying out school library management practices by implementing a library automation system using the SLiMS 9 application. Judging from the priority problems set, the target output of the activity is that the librarian of SMPN 4 Lubuk Alung, Padang Pariaman is able to : (1) understand the meaning, nature, and function of information technology-based school libraries. At the end of the activity, a minimum of 75% of the PKM activity material can be mastered; (2) apply the knowledge gained in the management of an automated school library; and (3) the output target in the form of a process is that the SLiMS 9 application has been installed and used as a tool to replace various routine work in the library and library managers know and take advantage of various SLiMS 9 features that have been learned during the training, such as: data entry, label creation, barcoding, circulation services, membership, reporting, browsing, heading and subjecting. There is an increase in the ability of the target audience in understanding the understanding, concepts, and processes of managing and utilizing information technology-based school libraries.

IT GOVERNANCE OF SENAYAN LIBRARY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (SLIMS) LIBRARY AND ARCHIVES DEPARTMENT OF EAST KALIMANTAN PROVINCE USING COBIT 5.0

The existence of an information system in the Library and Archives Department of East Kalimantan needs to be properly maintained and supervised so that the organizational system is in line with the agency's goals. One way to ensure this is to conduct an information system performance analysis. This study uses the Control Objective for Information and related Technology (COBIT) version 5.0, which is a best practice that provides activities managed by the IT organizational structure within a framework in the form of a product, to focus on execution and control that has been made from experts from the field of technology governance Information. This practice can maximize IT investment, to assess if there are errors in providing measurements made and delivering services. Therefore, in order to achieve the target, this research was carried out using the COBIT 5.0 framework in order to be able to analyze an information system performance at the Library and Archives Department of East Kalimantan. The results of this study indicate that MEA01 is at level 5 (Optimizing Process), MEA02 is at level 3 (Established Process), MEA03 is at level 2 (Managed Process). In this case the Regional Library and Archives Office of East Kalimantan to be more efficient in the use of IT requires handling of the factors that influence it so that it is maximal, the use of IT for all employees in the operation of the Senayan Library Management System (SLiMS) and also the person in charge of IT to keep pace with developments technology.

OPTIMALISASI PEMANFAATAN APLIKASI SENAYAN LIBRARY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (SLiMS) PADA PERPUSTAKAAN PERGURUAN TINGGI DI KOTA PEKANBARU

The purpose of this study was to determine the optimization of the utilization of the Senayan Library Management System (SLiMS) application in the library in Pekanbaru City. The method used in this research is qualitative. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling, which is sampling intentionally based on officers who are directly involved with the required sample requirements. The results of the study indicate that from several indicators that have been determined, the utilization of the SLiMS application cannot be said to be optimal because the features in the SLiMS application have not been fully utilized. Unilak Library UPT does not take advantage of two features, namely the Inventory feature and serial publication control feature, while the UMRI Library UPT has utilized all the features but there are still some sub-features that are not utilized. Utilization of existing features in the SLiMS application at UPT UMRI Library and UPT Unilak Library is based on the needs and policies of the Library.
