There are still many ways to use electrical equipment at home that are used by mothers who are not in accordance with the usage procedures and ethics contained in the general regulations for electrical installations.. The existence of this community service activity has a positive impact on public knowledge and awareness of how to use electricity properly so as to avoid the dangers of electricity and fire. This community service activity took place in Tondegesan 1 Village, where the object of the service was namely housewives and fathers with work activities at home and garden with 25 participants. The method used for this service is in the form of lectures, questions, and answers, and is supported by demonstrating the dangers of electricity and fire through simulations displaying K3 props. The results obtained by this community service, after counseling on the dangers of electricity and fire, 90% of the residents are aware and fully understand the knowledge of the dangers of electricity and fire by knowing the procedures for using K3 facilities and being able to change habits in how to use electricity in a better direction following PUIL as well as according to SNI in the selection of electrical equipment

Short-circuit model of the DFIG considering coordinated control strategy of grid- and rotor-side converters

The short-circuit current calculation is of vital importance for the power system. With a high proportion of new energy sources, the setting of relay protection and the selection of electrical equipment have been severely degraded. An accurate short-circuit current calculation model of new energy source is necessary for the short-circuit calculation of power grid with new energy sources. However, due to the DFIG’s control system is a ”black box”, and an accurate fault characteristics and short-circuit current calculation models of DFIG is difficult to obtained. Currently, for the fault current of the DFIG, lots of research works is carried out under symmetrical fault or the crowbar protection is activated condition. However, under crowbar protection is not activated and unsymmetrical fault condition, there are no unified short-circuit calculation models of DFIG. In this paper, the transient process of DFIG under those condition is analyzed, and mathematical expressions are derived. Moreover, the comprehensive and unified short-circuit calculation models of DFIG have established under different low voltage ride through control conditions. The influence of GSC and slip rate of DFIGs can be considered. The test results show that the LVRT control strategies, the GSC and slip have an important influence on the DFIG’s short-circuit calculation model. The quantitative research results are of important significance for relay protection setting calculation, grid operation and control, and the selection of electrical equipment of power grid with DFIGs.

Influence of Voltage Sags on the Continuity of the Operation and Lifespan of Single-Phase Industrial Robots

Due to the increase in the number of automated processes that employ industrial robots (especially in industrial and laboratory environments, including vacuum systems), and the resulting increase in the number of unresolved service requests, the purpose of the authors’ research was to confirm the occurrence of disturbances in the form of voltage sags that are not recorded by automation systems and which lead to the destruction of robots or their equipment in areas defined by the characteristics of ITIC/SEMI F47 and CBEMA as being free from such disturbances. The article also describes the environmental classification of robots by their process functionalities/features, and recommends equipment that is able to compensate for these disturbances. Such a classification approach can be an excellent tool for building an exploitation culture and assist the conscious selection of electrical equipment in robotised systems susceptible to disturbances (e.g., robots in load-lock in vacuum environment).

Research on metal corrosion mechanism and inhibition measures of transmission and distribution equipment in Hunan

Through the analysis of the different mechanisms of corrosion of metal materials in AC and DC power transmission and transformation equipment and the factors affecting the corrosion rate, the impact of metal corrosion on the mechanical and electrical performance of electrical equipment was deeply studied. The selection of electrical equipment, material inspection and on-site anti-corrosion treatment were proposed. It was an effective measure to prevent corrosion failure of power transmission and transformation equipment.

Fault steady-state analysis method for the AC system with LCC-HVDC infeed

Fault steady-state analysis method can help to analyze the variation law of electrical quantities, clarify the fault characteristics, and provide the basis of power system design, protection scheme formulation, short-circuit current limitation and electrical equipment selection. Existing methods of fault steady-state analysis for alternating current (AC) system with line-commutated converter (LCC) high voltage direct current (HVDC) infeed are not suitable for high-severity AC system faults and existing equivalent models of LCC-HVDC system are inaccurate under asymmetrical AC system fault. Hence, a more accurate method is proposed in this paper. First, according to the relationship between the injected current of LCC-HVDC system and the fault phase voltage of commutation bus, equivalent models of the LCC-HVDC system under symmetrical fault and asymmetrical fault of AC system are established respectively. Based on the equivalent models of LCC-HVDC system and the fault sequence network of AC system, a fault steady-state analysis method for AC system with LCC-HVDC infeed is proposed. The proposed method is validated on CIGRE Benchmark HVDC model using PSCAD/EMTDC software. The results show that the proposed method is accurate and suitable for faults of different severities in AC system with LCC-HVDC infeed.

Penggunaan Algoritma Jaringan Syaraf Tiruan Propagasi Balik Pada Klasifikasi Data Penggunaan Daya Listrik

Electrical Energy has a large contribution to the operational costs that must be incurred. The selection of electrical equipment can be one alternative that might be implemented to reduce operational costs incurred. In its use sometimes users do not know any electrical equipment that uses high electrical power and low electrical power. Therefore a system was made to classify data on electric power usage. This data will be classified into four classes, such as: very efficient, efficient, quite efficient and wasteful. Data classification is done using a back propagation neural network algorithm. The training data set used is 190 data and the test data set is 30 data. Based on the training that has been done, the optimal parameters are learning rate 0.5, target error 0.001, max epoch 10000, and 25 hidden neurons. Tests show that the system is able to recognize data with an accuracy level of 96.67% and MSE of 0.03333. Of the 30 data that have been tested obtained 29 data in accordance with the target. Where the 29 data are classified into 4 classes, namely 9 data classes are very efficient, 6 data classes are efficient, 5 data classes are quite efficient and 9 data classes are wasteful. The results of this study can be concluded that the backpropagation neural network algorithm can be implemented to classify electrical power usage data.

The explosion risk is one of the major industrial risks, being present in all units which produce, use, handle, store or transport hazardous substances, products with flammable and explosive properties. Equipment designed for use in potentially explosive atmospheres must be manufactured so that the ignition of the surrounding explosive atmosphere is avoided. One of the ignition sources of an explosive atmosphere is represented by surface temperature. The paper presents the influence of surface temperature in the process of selection of electrical equipment from technological installations operating in explosive atmospheres, as well the test method used to determine it.

Validation of short-circuit current calculations in electric power system

The determining factor for the selection of electrical equipment and switching devices is the short-circuit currents (SCC), for which the electrodynamics and thermal resistance is checked for the first, and for the second the switching capacity and wear-resistance. Also, the fault current is calculated for setting the relay protection and automation threshold. As is known, different digital simulation tools are used for calculating the SCC, in which inevitably use simplifications and limitations of mathematical models of equipment and EPS in whole. In this connection, the calculated values of SCC comprise, in some cases, significant error, so the validation is needed for used simulation tools. Proposed to use specialized hybrid software and hardware system for validation as the source of data needed to compare the simulation results of verified tools. It helps to determine their actual properties and capabilities, as well as to increase the reliability of decisions made on the basis of the calculated SCC, by understanding the causes and possible level of errors that arise.

The Development of Computer-Aided Design for Electrical Equipment Selection and Arrangement of 10 Kv Switchgear

The paper intends to give an overview of a computer-aided design program application. The research includes two main parts: the development of a computer-aided design for an appropriate switchgear selection and its arrangement in an indoor switchgear layout. Matlab program was used to develop a computer-aided design system. The use of this program considerably simplifies the selection and arrangement of 10 kV switchgear.

From this base, projections of energy costs and equipment costs are presented and the decisionmaking is re-examined with regard to alternative solutions. Sensitivity analyses are developed around variations in forecasted data and in economic parameters. Electric motor and transformer examples are used to present salient points in the analysis.

Predicting Flammable Material Classifications for the Selection of Electrical Equipment

There is a need for a reliable method of assigning group classifications to mixtures of flammable gases and liquids not covered by Section 500-2 of the National Electrical Code. A method of predicting group classifications for single components has been developed, and a procedure for extending this method to mixtures is suggested. If this procedure can be verified, a new tool will be available which will allow more accurate classification of the hazardous materials in process plants.
