Reviewing and assessing emerging trends and needs for research, development and innovation (RDI) and capacity building in a short, medium and long-term perspective

Abstract An important aim of the Partnership is to identify current and future health services and systems priorities and to identify capacity building and training needs to support RDI activities in health and care systems in the Partnership countries and the EU as a whole. This is being done by means of periodical reviews, among others building on scientific research literature, strategic and policy documents and consultations of stakeholders. At the conference workshop, results of the mapping are presented, with a special focus on priority areas that can contribute to health systems transformation towards sustainable and people-centred health and care systems accessible to all. The session will allow participants provide reflections on and refinements to potential common priorities across national RDI agendas. This will provide direction for future research calls, based on an inventory of priorities that are considered by both policy audiences, research and wider stakeholder communities that should be addressed at EU and national levels.

Systemic Lupus Erythematosus in pregnancy – a multidisciplinary approach to family planning and adverse outcomes prevention

Introduction and purpose Systemic Lupus Erythematosus is a chronic multisystemic autoimmune disease with periods of remissions and flares [1,5,25]. Because of its possible consequences and unpredictability, it is undoubtedly an issue for such patients to decide about pregnancy [3]. The main aim of this review is to present the possible risks of SLE in pregnancy, its general management and current recommendations regarding pregnancy planning and pre-/postnatal care. Review Methods For the review we conducted research of scientific literature from PubMed and books, applying the keywords (below). Consequently, we included in our references above 20 selected articles published between 2017-2024 and 3 chapters of different medical books. All of these were analyzed in terms of their currency and relevance. A brief description of the State of Knowledge SLE mostly affects women at the reproductive age [2, 3,5]. It often requires long-term therapy that aims to achieve and maintain an inactive stage by means of numerous aggressive drugs. Its proper management in gestation is even more challenging than usually, owing to the increased risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes (APO) and higher maternal mortality [1,2,4,5,7]. Therefore, to achieve successful pregnancy, risk stratification, therapy modification and individually adjusted plan of follow-up visits are the most crucial conditions to be met [1,6,7,13]. Summary Considering all the potential complications that may occur in general, the issue of family planning should be raised with every female patient [5,6]. The key to the best outcomes is proper implementation of current strategies and empowering the patient to be an active and aware participant in the decision-making process [1,3,4,6,11].

Informing knowledge translation for selective dorsal rhizotomy: A survey of Australian clinicians and people with lived experience of cerebral palsy.

Selective dorsal rhizotomy (SDR) is a neurosurgical intervention used to reduce spasticity in children with cerebral palsy (CP). There is minimal relevant, evidence-based information available for Australian families and clinicians. This study aims to investigate the knowledge of people with lived experience and clinicians regarding SDR, including how they currently access information and what information they seek. Adults with CP, carers of children with CP and clinicians treating children with CP were invited to complete an online survey. Data regarding participant demographics, current knowledge and confidence in knowledge about CP and SDR, information source/s used and participants level of trust in these sources are presented as counts and percentages. Comparisons in knowledge between groups were analysed. A total of 114 surveys were completed: 63 clinicians, 48 carers, and 3 adults with CP. Eighty percent of clinicians were allied health professionals. People with lived experience were less confident in their knowledge about SDR compared to knowledge of CP (P < 0.001). Clinicians rated scientific research literature and the hospital team as the most useful and trustworthy information source. People with lived experience used a wider range of information sources including the internet, rating their community therapy team and other people with lived experience as the most useful. This study identified a lack of confidence in knowledge of SDR for people with lived experience, likely due to a gap in accessible and readable evidence-based information. While both groups differed in how they access information, there was agreement that greater information about SDR is needed.

The light at the end of the tunnel? A systematic review of higher education student experiences of hope.

The most dominant model of hope is cognitive, in which hope is defined as goal-directed thinking, comprising self-agency and goal route identification. Nonetheless, competing theories about the fundamental nature of hope remain and further exploration of the construct is warranted. Little is known about whether the cognitive model aligns with how higher education students themselves think about hope. Understanding how "lay" populations conceptualise and experience psychological phenomena is as important as applying scientific theory. Personal beliefs impact on how people make sense of their life experiences and on their wellbeing. Research is specifically needed to explore the conceptualisation and experience of hope within diverse student populations. A systematic review was conducted to identify published scientific research and grey literature presenting qualitative accounts of hope from higher education students. A qualitative meta-synthesis of the eight eligible reports was conducted using thematic analysis and synthesis approaches to identify conceptualisations of hope and its associations with mental health and well-being. Nine themes were identified, reflecting that hope is: fundamental; self-construal over time; goal-directed; cognitive-emotional-behavioural; connection; resilience; dynamic and reciprocal; the inverse of depression; positive. These findings were identified as reflecting conclusions in which at least a moderate level of confidence may be placed. These findings clearly align with the cognitive model of hope, but emphasise the additional facets of fundamentality, self-construal, and negative origins. The implications for higher education institutions include to promote growth mindsets, to support students to learn skills for identifying and pursuing goals, and to provide hope-enhancing interventions as part of their student support provision.

THEORETICAL ASPECTS OF EDUCATIONAL TOURISM

In today's technological era, rural tourism with its unique and unusual offer, which carries the traditions, culture and culinary heritage of ancestors, becomes a proper and unique cultural capital, and it has opportunities to hybridize with other types of tourism, for example, with educational tourism. As a separate type of tourism - educational tourism, becomes an innovative opportunity to revive the usual rural tourism offer. In order to retain the interest of tourists, the tourism experience must have transformative potential. Consumer experiences can contribute to tourists' cognitions and emotions, resulting in psychological, physical, social, or knowledge changes. Educational tourism combines the features of two fields: education and tourism, which at the intersection gives the actual educational tourism. In Latvia, educational tourism is not defined as a separate economic category. This type of tourism can become a successful platform for travelers' self-growth, creating opportunities for them to learn, relax and improve spiritually. The aim of the study is to analyze the interpretations of the definition. The research uses the scientific literature research method. The research questions are (1) What research has been done on aspects of educational tourism? (2 ) Which scientists have focused on the study of this concept? (3) What are the prerequisites for the introduction of educational tourism in Latgale/regions? An exploratory study was implemented and described in this paper.

INFLUENCE OF SILK ROAD CULTURE ON MODERN DESIGN: ARTISTIC FEATURES OF CHINESE BROCADE PATTERNS

Goal: this study aims to analyze the influence of Silk Road culture on the style of brocade patterns in the Tang and Ming Dynasties of China, as well as to consider the practices of using brocade motifs of ancient dynasties in modern design. Methodology: based on the research of scientific literature, this article compares and analyses the stylistic characteristics of brocade patterns: connected beads, curly grass, treasure and cloud; the analysis makes it possible to trace the process of formation and evolution of brocade patterns in the Tang Dynasty. The methods of figurative and stylistic, formal analysis, methods of systematisation, and processing of results are also involved. Results. The study pointed out that the opening of the Silk Road promoted cultural exchanges between East and West, and the prosperity of politics, economy, and culture in the Tang Dynasty promoted the diversity and development of patterns. The above-mentioned motives, through integration with foreign cultures, formed symmetrical beauty, curvilinear beauty, and symbolic characteristics of Tang Dynasty patterns. In the example of the creativity of the modern Chinese designer Chen Liwen, the transformation of the motif «Tiger Sniffs the Rose» and the image of the Chinese tiger of the Ming Dynasty period in the development of modern design products is shown. Scientific novelty. This article reveals the historical evolution of the popular brocade patterns in the Tang and Ming Dynasties of China, summarizes his unique artistic style, and provides inspiration for contemporary clothing innovation design. Practical significance. The significance of this study lies in providing historical data for the integration of ethnic cultures and demonstrating the overall characteristics and evolution process of the Tang and Ming Dynasties patterns.

Imperfections for the calculation of steel structures by the finite element method. Part 1

It is well known that imperfections are always present in structural elements. Imperfections can significantly affect the behavior and bearing capacity of steel structures, especially in the case of stability-related tasks. Therefore, inconsistencies must be taken into account in the loadbearing capacity model and their correct application (setting the shape and value) is a key point in the numerical analysis process. In recent decades, much attention has been paid in the domestic scientific space to updating imperfection models for use in numerical models, including taking into account modern more accurate manufacturing and installation technologies for steel structures. The purpose of this study is an analytical review and analysis of scientific research and technical literature, followed by synthesis and elaboration of recommendations on imperfections in relation to the calculation of steel structures using computer modeling technology, including the finite element method. The results of the study contain instructions on how to set the shapes and values of imperfections for different groups of imperfections. The article consists of two parts. The first part is devoted to the study of geometric imperfections, residual stresses and rules for the combination of imperfections, the second part of the article is devoted to equivalent imperfections.

VICTOR ORBAN: POLITICAL CONSERVATISM AND ANTIMIGRANT RHETORIC

This article examines several issues related to Hungary, the personality and management style of its leader Viktor Orban, and the policies pursued by this European country towards migrants and refugees. Hungary is a state whose migration policy over the past years has been at odds with the European mainstream. This is largely due to the views of Orban himself. For him, the issue of migration is central, axial in his worldview. This course is perceived differently: the Hungarian Prime Minister has both supporters and opponents. In the scientific research literature one can also find polar assessments. At the same time, Orban is a significant figure for the study of migrant discourse, and his policies obviously strive to be framed in a new eclectic ideology. The Prime Minister of Hungary continues to pursue his course, maneuvering between various forces and interest groups - potential allies from other states, opponents from the European liberal establishment, his own electorate, and voters of other Hungarian parties.

A synergistic study of policy and literature on rumor governance

Rumor governance is an important guarantee for social stability and public safety. Based on the life cycle and crisis cycle model, this paper conducts a synergistic analysis of China's rumor governance policies and regulations and the core scientific research literature on rumor governance in WOS and CNKI. In this paper, we use the TF-IDF algorithm to count the word frequencies of 326 policy and regulation texts, the Jieba-RoBERTa-Kmeans model to cluster high-frequency keywords, and CiteSpace software and the LLR clustering algorithm are utilized to extract and cluster keywords from 391 documents in the WOS database and from 703 documents in the CNKI database. Based on the synergistic analysis of the life cycle model, it is found that the research on policies and regulations precedes the research on literature, and both are in the period of refinement.Based on the synergistic analysis using the co-occurrence comparison of subject terms in the crisis cycle model, it is found that there is a lack of research in the stages of prevention, monitoring, and governance, and this paper proposes the systematic governance mechanism and strategy for crisis resolution that conforms to the trend of life cycle evolution and is synergistic with policy and literature. This study has only selected Chinese policies and regulations, and the proposed governance strategies have not yet been verified in practice; future research can expand the scope and depth of the study and conduct empirical research and pilot projects.

Examining the relationship between online chatting and PISA reading literacy trends (2000-2018)

Strong claims have regularly been made in the popular media about the alleged negative effects of young people's language use in written exchanges via digital media (what is known as textese). This is especially believed to affect their reading and writing skills. However, the scientific research literature has hardly confirmed such effects. Its conclusions are generally based on cross-sectional comparisons between individuals who differ in how much they exchange written messages via digital media. In contrast, the present study examines to what extent per-country changes in the prevalence of online chatting coincide with changes in the reading literacy of consecutive student cohorts. This approach presents a novel perspective. The findings relate to data from the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) surveys conducted during 2000–2018. The data analysis showed a strong correlation between variations in per-country patterns regarding the spread of online chatting during 2000–2018 and changes in the reading literacy of 15-year-olds. Countries with low chatting prevalence in 2009 showed substantial improvement in reading literacy from 2000 to 2009. These trends typically reversed to declines when after 2009, online chatting prevalence sharply increased in those countries. A contrasting pattern applied to countries with high chatting prevalence in 2009 and decelerating growth in online chatting afterward.

Machine Vision—Moving from Industry 4.0 to Industry 5.0

The Fourth Industrial Revolution combined with the advent of artificial intelligence brought significant changes to humans’ daily lives. Extended research in the field has aided in both documenting and presenting these changes, giving a more general picture of this new era. This work reviews the application field of the scientific research literature on the presence of machine vision in the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the changes it brought to each sector to which it contributed, determining the exact extent of its influence. Accordingly, an attempt is made to present an overview of its use in the Fifth Industrial Revolution to identify and present the changes between the two consequent periods. This work uses the PRISMA methodology and follows the form of a Scoping Review using sources from Scopus and Google Scholar. Most publications reveal the emergence of machine vision in almost every field of human life with significant influence and performance results. Undoubtedly, this review highlights the great influence and offer of machine vision in many sectors, establishing its use and searching for more ways to use it. It is also proven that machine vision systems can help industries to gain competitive advantage in terms of better product quality, higher customer satisfaction, and improved productivity.

Kazakh Khanate in the middle of the XVIII-XIX century: External relations, process, results and significance

Relevance. This research article examines Abylai Khan's role as a historical figure in the Kazakh Khanate's foreign policy from the middle of XVIII century to 1781, as well as his diplomatic relations with the Qin Manchurian Empire of China, the Russian Empire, and, most importantly, good diplomacy connections. Purpose. The diplomatic relations of the Kazakh Khanate with neighboring countries in the seventeenth century, armed conflicts between the Kazakh Khanate and the Dzungarian Khanate, the heroic deeds of Abylai Khan, Kabanbai Batyr, Bogenbai Batyr, and others during the Qin Empire's invasion of the Kazakh Khanate are documented. Methodology. From a theoretical and methodological point of view, the work was carried out on historical principles, true objective research, analysis of historical events in chronological order, comparative use of archival data, references to the research of scientific literature. Results. On the basis of ancient and current scientific literature in Kazakh and international scientific libraries, the real data have been analyzed and methodically reviewed. All these have been considered from the point of view of historical research in the state archives of Russia and Kazakhstan. Conclusions. The history of further development of Kazakh people has proved that such a courageous and purposeful service, provided by Abylai Khan in the middle of the XVIII century, transcended the borders of one country and became the most important in the region.

ENSURING INTEGRATED ECONOMIC SUSTAINABILITY OF BUSINESS STRUCTURES IN THE CURRENT CRISIS CONDITIONS

According to the author's research of scientific literature and practical experience of cluster creation and development, most authors and experts consider the processes of formation and management of cluster structures exclusively in conditions of economic stability, which is due to the relatively short duration of functioning of these integrated business structures in terms of economic history. In fact, there is no significant work that would indicate how a cluster should function and develop in the face of crisis. The impact of the crisis affects both individual business structures and more complex integrated entities, such as research and production and educational clusters. In this regard, there are urgent aspects of developing certain methodological recommendations that would increase the level of integrated economic sustainability of clusters of various types and nature in the current environment. Coordinated investment activities of cluster members aimed not only at acquiring property rights, but also at designing and developing various intellectual property objects that can later form collective intangible assets of cluster structures with appropriate regulation of their right to use as an element of private property in the knowledge economy are of great importance for counteracting modern crises.

Umbrella Reviews in Pediatric Dentistry - A pinnacle in Hierarchy of Evidence Based Literature

Background: Systematic reviews and meta-analyses represent high rank in the evidence hierarchy pertaining to health science including pediatric dental health. However, this research methodology is associated with its own drawbacks and disadvantages. As a result, with the invention of flawless methodology, an Umbrella Review as a new tertiary research tool has taken its birth in the scientific research literature. Aim: To overview in detail pertaining to Umbrella reviews and to alarm all pediatric dental researchers for conducting future such reviews on all oral health related conditions occurring in children. Design: The detailed literature search was performed for published articles of individual Umbrella reviews carried out exclusively in the arena of paediatric dentistry encompassing all topics (domains) related to children from inception till 30 June 2023. Results: Following search for the umbrella reviews revealed limited evidence on this research methodology encompassing few domains. Conclusion: There is insufficient evidence on the literature pertaining to different oral health related factors in children including the methodological quality related studies like systematic reviews or meta-analyses. Therefore, it is highly essential for future studies to be undertaken to best provide standard protocols and recommendations to pediatric dentistry specialty regarding all oral health aspects encountered in children.

УДОСКОНАЛЕННЯ НОРМУВАННЯ ВИТРАТИ ПАЛЬНОГО ВІЙСЬКОВОЮ КОЛІСНОЮ ТЕХНІКОЮ НАЦІОНАЛЬНОЇ ГВАРДІЇ УКРАЇНИ З УРАХУВАННЯМ СПЕЦИФІЧНИХ УМОВ ЕКСПЛУАТАЦІЇ

The work thoroughly examines the relevance and necessity for further improvement in the regula-tion of fuel consumption standards for the wheeled military vehicles that are in service with the Na-tional Guard of Ukraine. This issue is critically important for ensuring stable and effective operation of military units, especially in the context of modern challenges and conditions of combat operations. The conducted analysis of Ukraine's legislative and regulatory framework, scientific research, and technical literature, as well as the analysis of the actual situation in the military units of the National Guard of Ukraine, showed significant discrepancies between the existing fuel consumption standards and their practical application under complex operating conditions. These discrepancies are particularly evident during combat operations, where standard operating conditions differ significantly from those anticipated by guiding documents. This requires a revision and adaptation of existing methods to the current realities. As a result of the analysis, the main directions for further research were outlined and recommendations were formulated for the development of a new, more adaptive method of regulating fuel consumption. The proposed way for improving norms of fuel consumption is aimed at creating conditions for the timely and complete supply of necessary fuel to military units. The new standardization method is based on a comprehensive analysis of the structural parameters of military wheeled vehicles and the specific conditions of their use. This approach will not only ensure the accuracy of resource planning but also significantly en-hance the effectiveness of performing daily and combat tasks, as well as reduce the risks associated with potential fuel deficits at critical moments. The primary advantage of this methodology is in accurately determining fuel needs that depend on many variable factors. The implementation of these approaches will contribute to the readiness and ability of the National Guard of Ukraine to respond promptly to the challenges posed by the modern military conflict.

ANALYSIS OF EXISTING CALCULATION METHODS FOR PREDICTING PARAFFIN PRECIPITATION AND DETERMINATION OF CRITICAL PARAMETERS

pecially during the production, transportation and refining of crude oil. This problem is related to changes in temperature and pressure, crude oil composition, and flow conditions. Research in the petroleum industry is actively focused on developing improved models and correlations to accurately predict wax deposition. The authors of the paper consider approaches based on thermodynamic principles to develop a model capable of predicting the conditions under which wax deposition occurs. The model takes into account the chemical and physical interactions in the system, and also includes parameters determined from laboratory experiments and data on the characteristics of crude oil. This article presents an analysis of scientific research literature and publications on calculation methods for predicting paraffin precipitation, and a comparative analysis of existing current correlations is carried out. Also shown is the calculation of the critical parameters (PVT) from the obtained data, which is the first step towards a model for calculating the precipitated wax.

Aspects of the utilization for the technogenic territory of coal enterprises

Purpose. To perform an analysis of domestic and world experience in the implementation of technologies for the utilization of man-made territories of closed coal enterprises after the completion of their operation. Methods. To achieve the purpose, the authors, based on the analysis of scientific research literature concerning the directions of creation the production capacities after the completion of the mines functioning, proposed technologies for the formation of enterprises for the utilization of man-made territories and their further use. Results. The expediency and regularity of creating mining energy-chemical complexes (MEChC) based on closed coal enterprises for the disposal of pollution, secondary resources and energy in man-made territories is substantiated. This will contribute to the acquisition of ecologically clean land area, the use of underground resources, as well as the production of energy and chemical products that meet the needs of the industrial market. Originality. Consists in the systematization and scientific justification of the implementation of technologies for the use of man-made space in closed mines. The main regularities of the scientific means of studying the processes of adaptation of such processes in the mechanical preparation, processing, and energy utilization of secondary raw materials as part of the implementation of MEChCto the real conditions of the underground and surface space of the closed coal mining enterprise are highlighted. Practical implication. Development and establishment of the main technological aspects of the formation of a mining energy-chemical complex with the provision of stable utilization of man-made and energy space of coal mines with the obtaining of usable territories, fuel, technical industrial gases, thermal and electrical energy, and chemical products.

Legal framework for sustainable development and current global challenges

&lt;p&gt;The subject of the article is the formation of the legal framework for sustainable development in the context of modern global challenges. The subject of the legal framework is the social relations of sustainable development, which are regulated by separate branches of law, but in the aggregate form a separate branch of law. The legal foundations of sustainable development, formed under the influence of international cooperation processes, are currently exposed to new threats-illegitimate economic restrictions that call into question the previously stated goals of sustainable development. The purpose of the article is to review the current state and prospects for the development of the legal framework in the context of both traditional threats and new challenges caused by the external restrictions since 2014, and to assess the prospects for sustainable development in Russia. The main research method is the study of international and Russian scientific research literature, analytical and review materials from open sources using induction, deduction, analysis, synthesis and the method of analogies. In preparing the article, historical, statistical, system-structural and causal research methods were also used. It has been proved that the first year of the functioning of the national economy under the newly introduced sanctions in 2022 showed both their negative impact and a certain adaptive potential of the economic system and companies. The article is focused on the prerequisites for the formation, essence and subject of sustainable development law, as well as on methods of legal regulation and examples of legal mechanisms for incorporating sustainable development factors into business practices. The article raises the question of the legitimacy of unilateral economic sanctions from the point of view of international law. The article also assesses the impact of sanctions on the activities of companies and their commitment to the principles of sustainable development. The conclusion is made that business community considers the mechanisms of legal regulation of sustainable development as anti-crisis measures and considers those mechanisms to be expedient and justified in the long term to pursue a policy of maintaining a commitment to sustainable development and finding ways to overcome sanctions pressure.&lt;/p&gt;

Analysis of polymeric compounds using a matrix of epoxy resin reinforced with sisal fibers for application as reinforcement of pieces of wood

Studies show that there is still a small number of researches related to the rehabilitation and recovery of wooden structures, because knowledge about rehabilitation techniques and reinforcement in wooden structural elements is still not widespread. The same does not happen when it comes to designing wooden structures, since designers rely on Technical Standards, deeper scientific research and vast literature. Therefore, the importance of more in-depth scientific research on the technique of reinforcing wooden structures through the application of polymeric composites reinforced with natural fibers is evident. Since, economically and environmentally, it is preferable to rehabilitate a structure than proceed with its demolition and reconstruction. Such an attitude would provide a reduction in the consumption of natural resources and less waste generation. The objective of this work is to experimentally analyze the mechanical performance of wooden parts reinforced by epoxy matrix polymeric composites and fabrics made with sisal fibers. In addition, the mechanical behavior of the types of proposed reinforcements are verified.
