Development of Science Mobile Learning as an Innovation in Learning Media in Elementary Schools

Learning media innovation in the current era is starting to develop towards the use of technology. The learning media that is starting to develop today is smartphone-based. The use of smartphone-based media is inseparable from the rapid development and use of smartphones among students. Therefore, to reduce its negative impacts, it is necessary to develop smartphone-based learning media so that students can use their smartphones to help the learning process. This study aims to develop valid and practical science mobile learning that can be used to help the science learning process at the elementary school level. This type of research is R&D with the ADDIE type. The location of the research is at Hamzanwadi University with the research subjects being science education and PGSD students at Hamzanwadi University. Analysis of research data using V'Aikens related to media validity and practicality analysis related to the practicality of learning media. The results of the analysis show that the developed science mobile learning is valid feasible and practical to use in the science learning process in elementary schools.

System differential learning for detecting learning styles in science education for students with learning disabilities

The research aims to develop a Differential System Learning (SIDILAN) effective for students to learn Disabilities (LD) in science learning. SIDILAN is designed to detect students' learning styles that suit their unique needs, especially those with difficulty understanding science concepts. The research method used is the ADDIE Model, an abbreviation for the five stages of the development process: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The implementation stage of ADDIE SIDILAN was implemented on 68 prospective teacher students in Indonesia aged 20-22 years, and they were then given a questionnaire to respond. The study results showed that the development of the SIDILAN online URL https://s.id/SIDILAN can be used to detect students' learning styles in science learning. Based on the student response questionnaire to SIDILAN for Learning Disability (LD), information was obtained that LD A for the Indicator of Understanding and Engagement was 84.31%, LD B for the Indicator of Effectiveness 87.25%, LD C for the Indicator of Skills and Self -Development of 92.65% and LD D for Indicator of Satisfaction and Recommendation of 95.59%. The findings indicate that SIDILAN effectively improves the quality of learning by offering personalized learning styles according to their needs, creating a more inclusive and supportive educational environment for students with learning disabilities. The study suggests that SIDILAN should be integrated into special education programs as an innovative solution to support the science learning process for students with special needs.

An innovative approach in middle school science courses: effects of collaborative augmented reality activities on motivation, cognitive load, and satisfaction

ABSTRACT This study examines the effects of collaborative augmented reality activities supported by the 5E teaching model on students’ motivation, cognitive load, and satisfaction levels in a science course. In this context, explanatory design, one of the mixed research methods, was used in this study. The research process was conducted with 18 sixth-grade (5 girls and 13 boys) students studying in a private school for four hours a week for four weeks in a science course. In the quantitative dimension of the study, the effects of collaborative augmented reality activities were examined using one group pretest-posttest design through questionnaires and scales, and student views were evaluated through semi-structured interviews as a result. The quantitative data analysis used the Wilcoxon signed-rank test and descriptive statistics methods. Qualitative data were analyzed through the content analysis method. As a result of the study, it was observed that collaborative augmented reality activities positively affected students’ motivation and satisfaction levels in the science learning process. In addition, collaborative augmented reality activities contributed to balancing the cognitive load. In this regard, it can be asserted that students’ learning processes can be made more effective using collaborative augmented reality activities, especially in teaching complex science subjects.

Feasibility of Digital Flipbooks as Physics Teaching Media in Terms of Reproduction

Various media that utilize technology in implementing teaching materials make the teaching-learning process more innovative and increase students' curiosity. This study aims to develop a digital flipbook for studying physics in reproduction and to validate the developed flipbook. This study applied the research and development (R&D) design using the 4-D model which consists of define, design, develop, and disseminates. This study is only up to the validation stage and revision of the validation results. The validation subjects in this study are 16 people. The result shows that the developed media is valid, totalling 97.51%. It is expected that the digital flipbook of physics in reproduction can be further developed in further research, namely in the implementation stage, to test how effective it is in the science learning process.

Evaluation of Science Education for Students with Visual Impairment: Views of Teachers and Administrators

Introduction: Science education for students with visual impairment requires an inclusive education system. Understanding the science learning process of these students and determining their problems and needs in education constitute the basis of inclusive education. Therefore, it is crucial to evaluate the teaching strategies and material choices of science teachers to create an effective and accessible learning environment. School administrators are also decisive in providing support and resources, developing teachers and meeting the needs of this process. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the opinions of science teachers and school administrators working in secondary schools for the visually impaired about the difficulties encountered by students with visual impairment in science education and solution suggestions. Method: The present study was designed with case study, one of the qualitative research designs. The study group consisted of 24 participants, including 14 science teachers and 10 school administrators working in secondary schools for the visually impaired in Türkiye in the 2022-2023 academic year. The data were obtained through a semi-structured interview technique. Content analysis was used to analyse the data. Findings: The findings showed that the content of the curriculum was prepared intensively, the course duration was insufficient and the acquisitions were too many, teaching materials for many senses should be prepared and there were printing errors in the textbooks. It was determined that students had difficulties arising from the reader in the measurement and evaluation process. Discussion: The findings obtained in this study suggest that there are needs in providing science education for students with visual impairment. In the teaching of science course, the problems arising from the visual problems of students affected by visual impairment make it difficult for them to have the same opportunities as their peers with normal development. Thus, there is a need to determine the special needs of the students and make educational arrangements for their disability levels.

Validity of Project Model Science Learning Tools Assisted by Augmented Reality to Improve Students' Literacy and Creative Thinking Abilities

The development of project model science learning tools assisted by augmented reality has been carried out to improve students' literacy and creative thinking abilities. This development research aims to produce a valid product and describe the results of the validation of the learning device so that it is suitable for use in the learning process. This type of research is research and development with 4D model design which consists of the definition, design, development and dissemination stages. Validation of learning tools was carried out by three competent expert validators at Mataram University. The development of augmented reality-assisted project model science learning tools developed consists of a syllabus, lesson plans, teaching materials, LKPD, augmented reality media as well as scientific literacy test instruments and creative thinking ability test instruments. The results of the research show that the project model science learning tools assisted by augmented reality have very valid and reliable criteria so that they are suitable for use in the science learning process in schools to improve students' scientific literacy and creative thinking abilities.

Implementation of the Environmental Exploration Learning Model (JAS) Assisted by Google Lens on the Scientific Literacy of Taman Mulia High School Students

This study aims to determine: (1) the difference in science literacy of class X students on plantae material with the Explore Nature Around (JAS) model assisted by google lens, (2) the effect of applying the Explore Nature Around (JAS) learning model assisted by google lens on students' science literacy on plantae material class X Taman Mulia. This type of research is Quasi experiment with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population of this study were students of class X Taman Mulia. The sample consisted of two classes determined by random sampling technique. The instruments used consisted of science literacy tests and learning process observation sheets. The data were analyzed by t-test, the analysis was carried out using SPSS version 29.01 for windows which previously conducted homogeneity and normality tests at a significant level of 0.05. Based on the results of the analysis, the conclusions were obtained. (1) The difference in science literacy of class X students on plantae material with the Explore Nature Around (JAS) model assisted by google lens (2) the effect of applying the Explore Nature Around (JAS) learning model assisted by google lens on students' science literacy in plantae material class X Taman Mulia.

THE DEVELOPMENT OF BLENDED LEARNING-BASED DIGITAL TEACHING MATERIALS ON KINEMATICS FOR ISLAMIC PRIMARY SCHOOL PROSPECTIVE TEACHERS IN SCIENCE LEARNING

Kinematics is one of fundamental materials in Basic Science Courses for Islamic Primary Schools Prospective Teacher. Kinematics often difficult for student because it needs schematic drawings and formula for motion. Thus, the kinematics teaching materials absolutely needed for Islamic Primary Schools Prospective Teacher. The current findings suggest that the environment in which Islamic Primary Schools Prospective Teachers learn has not been conducive to their growth and development. These initial observations indicate that certain factors may be hindering their progress. Therefore, digital teaching materials are needed that can facilitate the entire science learning process. The purpose of this research is to explicate the development process, along with the validation and comprehensibility of digital science teaching materials as learning media for prospective elementary school teachers in Islamic education. The Lee and Owens development model was used in the creation of this digital teaching material. The Lee Owens developmental model consist of assessment/analysis, need assessment, front-end analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. A material validation questionnaire, media, and a student readability test were used in the questionnaire with Likert scale. The subject of this research are 24 students of Islamic Primary Schools Prospective Teacher in UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. The material aspect of product validation showed an average result of 92.08%, while the media validation aspect scored 90.90%. The readability test for digital science teaching materials obtained a score of 83.2%. These findings suggest that digital science teaching materials are highly valid and suitable for use as learning media for prospective Islamic elementary school teachers. As a result, it is possible to conclude that digital science teaching materials are extremely valid and appropriate for use as learning media for prospective Islamic elementary school teachers.

Development of Local Potential Handouts as SDGs-based Teaching Materials to Enhance Critical Thinking

Critical thinking is an active process because it involves question and answer activities. This skill is important for students to have as one of the 21st Century skills that can support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG's). The objectives of this world program need to be instilled from an early age so that students have an attitude of concern for environmental sustainability. The importance of understanding the SDGs can be taught in schools. The problem raised focuses on the unavailability of handouts that integrate local potential in science material and explore student activities in critical thinking as one of the skills of the 21st century. The role of this teaching material can be to train critical thinking skills in learning to achieve the SDGs goal of protecting terrestrial ecosystems. The aim of the research is to produce a handout on the local potential of the SDGs and determine whether there is an increase in students' critical thinking after using the handout. The method used by Research and Development (RD) refers to 4D. Critical thinking data measured from description tests were obtained before and after the treatment designed to include students' abilities in providing explanations, building skills, designing strategies and tactics, explaining further and concluding. The results of the research show an increase in critical thinking skills of 0.60 as indicated by the N-gain and positive student responses after using the development product. These results are in line with the research objective of integrating SDGS-oriented local potential into teaching materials. The involvement of a teacher in designing teaching materials containing local SDGs-oriented potential is very necessary as one of the efforts that can be carried out in the education sector. Conclusion the science learning process on plant structure material and its use in technology was effective after using the SDGs-based local potential handout.

Pengaruh Penerapan Pembelajaran PBL Berbantuan Alat Peraga terhadap Hasil Belajar IPA Siswa Kelas IV SDN 21 Lubuk Lintah Kota Padang

This research is motivated by deficiencies in the science learning process. It is known that the dominant teaching method used is lecture, which minimally involves students in active learning. As a result, students are not given extensive opportunities to independently find solutions to problems or understand the concepts presented. This research aims to determine the impact of implementing Problem Based Learning (PBL) assisted by teaching aids on the science learning outcomes of class IV students. This research method uses a Quasi-Experimental design, specifically using a posttest-only control design. The experiment was carried out by comparing the posttest results of students who experienced the PBL model with those who did not. The research results through data analysis using the t test produced a t value of 2.52 and a t table value of 1.682. This shows that the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted. Therefore, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence of the use of the PBL model assisted by teaching aids on the science learning outcomes of class IV students at SDN 21 Lubuk Lintah, Padang City.

RADEC Learning Model with the Assistance of Media Question Box to Improve Primary School Students' Critical Thinking Ability

Students' critical thinking abilities in the science and science learning process are still low and need to be improved. Therefore, there is a need for a learning model that can improve students' critical thinking abilities. The RADEC learning model combined with Question Box media is a solution to this problem. This research aims to analyze the effect of the RADEC learning model assisted by Question Box media on the critical thinking abilities of fourth grade students in science and science lessons. This research uses a quasi-experimental research design with a non-equivalent control group research design. The population of this study was all 418 grade IV students. The sampling technique chosen was cluster random sampling which obtained 28 students as the experimental class and 28 students as the control class. The data collection method uses tests in the form of descriptions. Critical thinking ability data obtained from the post-test results were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques and inferential statistical analysis using the polled variance t-test. Based on the research conducted, it was concluded that the RADEC learning model assisted by Question Box media had an effect on the critical thinking skills in science and science lessons for fourth grade elementary school students.

Development of STREAM-Based Learning Media to Improve Students' Science Literacy on The Matter Forms of Substances and Its Changes

Science learning in the merdeka curriculum expects students not only to understand concepts, but to be able to apply science concepts in everyday life. The results of TIMSS and PISA state that the science literacy ability of Indonesian students is still very low. Through initial observations and interviews showed that the use of IT-based learning media and the involvement of students in the science learning process is still lacking. Science, technology, religion, engineering, art, and mathematic (STREAM) approach is useful to build a meaningful learning. This research aims to develop STREAM-based learning media to improve students' science literacy. The method used is RD with a model define, design, development and disseminate (4D). The data analysis technique uses SPSS to perform normality tests and independent t-tests. The increase in variables is measured by N-Gain. the expert validity analysis test obtained a material validity value of 0.93, media validity of 0.94, and language validity of 0.95. The final validity value of the STREAM-based learning media was 0.94 with valid criteria. The analysis of student's responses to the readability of STREAM-based learning media obtained 92.5% with very good criteria. The N-Gain test result in experimental group obtained a score of 0.72 in the high category higher than the control group which obtained a score of 0.37 in the medium category. Based on these results, STREAM-based learning media appears to be feasible and could contribute to enhancing students' science literacy skills related to the material forms of substances and its changes

PENGEMBANGAN MODUL KURIKULUM MERDEKA PEMBELAJARAN IPAS MATERI TUMBUHAN SUMBER KEHIDUPAN DI BUMI DALAM MENINGKATKAN PRESTASI BELAJAR

This research aims to determine the validity of the IPAS (natural and social sciences) module on plant sources of life which can improve learning achievement in the grade IV independent curriculum at SDN 06 Kalipare, Malang Regency. This type of development research uses the Modified ADDIE development model. Data collection instruments include questionnaires for linguists, material experts and media experts. The results of research on the development of the science and science module on plants as the source of life showed an average result of 89.33% with details of 98% for language experts, 90% for material experts and 80% for media experts. From this data it can be concluded that the development of the science and science module is valid and can be used in the science and science learning process regarding plants that are the source of life in the Merdeka curriculum.

Pengembangan Bahan Ajar Interaktif Berbasis Canva Mata Pelajaran IPAS Model Addie di SDN Daleman 2

With the development of technology and understanding of how humans learn throughout life that places education as a dynamic and continuous process and involves all aspects of life, learning innovation will be an integral part in improving the education system. Quality education is a learning designed to provide learning experiences to students that not only convey learning facts and concepts, but involves developing skills, attitudes, and building character and values that can support the growth of students as knowledgeable, creative and responsible individuals in society (Habaridota, 2023). In today's digital and technological era, the use of teaching materials is an important part of the learning process to achieve the expected competencies and increase effectiveness and motivation in learning (Wahyudi, 2022) (Novayana et al., 2021). gaps in the use of teaching materials used in the learning process in conventional science subjects so that learning is still monotonous centered on students, then interactive teaching materials are indispensable in helping the involvement of students in the learning process (Puspasari, 2022). Based on the gaps that arise in the learning process, researchers will develop canva-based teaching materials to overcome problems in science subjects related to providing interactive teaching material references that can be used in the learning process to encourage students to optimally involve students in the grade 4 science learning process at SDN Daleman 2 Galis District. In research on the development of Canva-based interactive teaching materials refers to the ADDIE model. Systematically prepared based on the independent curriculum in the grade 4 basic education unit at SDN Daleman 2 Galis District, which is adjusted to the characteristics of the learning material and the characteristics of students.

Implementation of A Collaborate Learning Model Stad-Pjbl with Diorama Media to Improve Student Learning Outcomes on Eclipse Topics

During the implementation of the sixth grade science learning process at SDN 01 Karyomukti, it showed that the majority of students had low learning outcomes. This is due to lack of motivation among students, lack of enthusiasm, lack of enthusiasm and tend to be inactive. Low response to feedback from students to questions and teacher explanations and poor concentration of thinking. To solve problems in order to improve student learning outcomes and student collaboration is to apply the STAD-PjBL collaborative learning model assisted by diorama media which can involve the active role of students. This research employed an experimental methodology designed to examine the effects of specific treatments under controlled conditions. The research utilized a non-equivalent control group design. Both the control and experimental groups underwent a pretest. Different treatments were applied to each group, followed by a posttest to evaluate outcomes. The subjects comprised 16 sixth-grade students from SDN 01 Karyomukti (experimental group) and 13 sixth-grade students from SDN 02 Karyomukti (control group). The pretest and posttest results revealed a significant improvement in the experimental group, with an average increase of 75% using the STAD-PjBL collaborative model assisted by diorama media. Consequently, it can be concluded that the STAD-PjBL collaborative model assisted by diorama media is effective in enhancing the learning outcomes for eclipse topics in the sixth grade at SDN 01 Karyomukti.

Contextual Teaching and Learning-based E-Worksheet on Science Subjects for Fourth Grade Elementary Schools

Lack of motivation to learn students results in them being less focused on learning and less active during the learning process, which impacts low student learning outcomes, especially in the science and science learning process. A lack of innovative teaching materials mostly causes this or tends to be monotonous. Therefore, supportive teaching materials that are attractive in form and based on appropriate learning models are needed so that students are enthusiastic about learning and can think critically. One medium that is a solution is to use CTL-based E-Worksheet. This research aims to develop a CTL-based E-Worksheet for grade 4 elementary school science content. This research is a development research type with the ADDIE model. The research subject is CTL-based E-Worksheet media on class 4 science content. Data collection uses expert test instruments and trials. The data analysis technique calculates the percentage score for validation assessments and user responses. The research results show that the development of a CTL-based E-Worksheet for grade 4 science content meets very valid criteria from the quality aspect, with a detailed score of 93.775% from media experts, 95% from learning design experts, and 94.6% from learning content experts. The results of the student response test showed an increase from the pretest results, with an average score of 34.8%, to an average score of 84.8 on the students' post-test results. Based on these results, the CTL-based E-Worksheet teaching materials that have been developed are suitable for application in learning. This research implies that it presents CTL-based E-Worksheet learning media with grade 4 science content as a solution to problems in the student learning process.

Studying children’s small science and early engineering learning process to help shape their cultural identity in culturally valued play-based experience

There are no conflicts between intentional teaching and play-based learning. However, educators find it challenging to establish the pedagogical relationship between them as they struggle to conceptualise and enact their role in the play-based context. In particular, educators’ confidence level is not enough to teach science and engineering in a play-based context. However, there is an increasing demand to integrate teaching practice for STEM learning in early childhood settings. Play is a pleasure and a leading source for children’s learning and cultural maturation process as part of their social and cultural experiences, and adults’ support can enhance children’s STEM learning process in a play-based context. This paper investigates how educators’ intentional teaching plan can support children’s small science and engineering learning process in culturally valued play. A total of 50 h of video data, representing 64 children aged from 10 months to 5 years, were collected through digital video observation over a period of seven weeks in an early childhood centre in Australia. This paper uses the dialectical interactive approach to analyse a 95-min video clip of children’s (3 to 5 years of age) play in a cultural context. It is argued that educators progress their learning and confidence to teach science and engineering in play-based settings when they could choose the activity from their community culture or centre-based practice. The findings of the study provide a pedagogical model for educators, which provides a conceptual framework for STEM-based learning in a culturally valued play.

Developing science magazine integrated with contextual teaching and learning approach based on local potential in talang siring beach, Indonesia

One of exciting learning media is magazine in which students prefer to read this rather than books since magazine contains of various colorful images and appropriate information. Magazine can be developed by integrating with science learning approach in order that students can comprehend the concepts easier. This study aims at developing science magazine which is integrated with contextual teaching and learning approach according to the study findings in Talang Siring. The research included in a research and development study, using Borg and Gall model. The research was conducted on October to November 2022, which is located in Talang Siring Pamekasan, Indonesia by identifying ecosystem of beach and mangrove. Furthermore, the observation findings were arranged systematically in developing science magazine. Science magazine was evaluated by experts in concept and learning media. Findings indicated that the science magazine is valid with media validity score 93.5 and content validity score 91.6. Therefore, it is appropriate to implemented in science learning. Therefore, it can be concluded that science magazine is able to be used as learning media in science learning process

Development of an E-Module Based on a Guided Inquiry Learning Model in Natural Science Subjects in Elementary Schools

The research was carried out based on facts found in the field regarding the science and science learning process which still lacks teaching materials. The lack of teaching materials or media used in learning causes learning in class to become less active. Apart from that, teachers also do not use learning models that improve students' ability to think critically, which results in students being less active in class. This research uses the ADDIE Model which consists of five steps, namely analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. The results obtained from this research are E-Modules based on the Guided Inquiry Learning Model which are valid, practical and effective. The product validity results obtained from three experts, namely media experts, material experts and language experts respectively were 90.38 %; 91.67%; and 100% with a very valid category. In terms of product practicality, the E-Module is in the very practical category with teacher response practicality results of 88.33 % and student response practicality results of 88.35%. The effectiveness results obtained in this research also show that the product developed is very effective for use in the learning process.

Application of Games-Based Mathematics Learning in the Preschool-Elementary Transition

The results of this study aim to understand the use of Elementary Mathematics Games in Mathematics and Science Learning for PIAUD and PGMI Study Program Students during the PAUD-SD transition period. The research design used a descriptive quantitative approach with data collection techniques through questionnaire distribution. The results of the study found that: 1) Knowledge of Elementary Mathematics Games amounted to 92%; 2) the technique of using Elementary Mathematics Games in lecture activities has increased by 85%; 3) the difficulty faced in the process of using SD Mathematics Games amounted to 80%; 4) the integration technique of SD Mathematics Games is very easy to apply in activities Mathematics and Science Learning in PIAUD and PGMI Study Programs is 90%; 5) The percentage of usefulness in the use of Elementary Mathematics Games in the Mathematics and Science Learning process in the PIAUD and PGMI Study Programs is 95% with a benefit level of 76-100%. Thus, the use of Elementary Mathematics Games can be used in developing material from teaching materials for lecturers, teachers, and students in learning process activities.
