Deskripsi Perwujudan Budaya Peduli Lingkungan di SDN 06 Pontianak Timur

This study aims to determine the embodiment of an environmental care culture at SDN 06 East Pontianak with a research focus, namely the realization of an environmental care culture with four adiwiyata components, namely, environmentally friendly policies, the implementation of environment-based curriculum, participatory-based environmental activities, and the management of environmentally friendly supporting facilities. The research method used is a qualitative method of descriptive type with data collection techniques for interviews, observations, and documentation. The subjects in this study were the principal, teachers, adiwiyata coordinators, 3 grade IV students and 3 grade V students. Data analysis is carried out qualitatively with the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the research on the realization of a culture of environmental care at SDN 06 East Pontianak are realized through the adiwiyata program, namely school residents must have insight into the environment starting from the preparation of the school's vision, mission and goals which contain environmental management, implementing an environment-based curriculum in learning, carrying out participatory-based activities, and managing environmentally friendly supporting facilities that have been provided by the school

Principals’ Leadership Competencies: Implications for Educational Excellence

The study utilized a qualitative case study research design entailing an in-depth exploratory examination of principals' leadership competencies and their impact on educational excellence within the O R Tambo Inland education district. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with five principals selected from secondary schools in the district. A convenient sampling technique was used to select the participants from whom empirical data were gathered. A narrative analysis was employed to analyze the collected data, allowing for a comprehensive understanding of the principals' experiences, perspectives, and practices regarding leadership competencies and their implications for educational excellence. The findings revealed that principals play a pivotal role in shaping the school's image and reputation, attracting learners, families, and talented educators through positive attributes and effective leadership practices. Clear and measurable academic objectives aligned with the school's mission and vision are emphasized as essential for guiding educational endeavors and promoting continuous improvement. Thus, the study recommended that a collaborative approach to decision-making, professional development, and community engagement is essential for creating supportive and inclusive learning environments that empower students to thrive academically and personally.

Entrepreneurship Education and Independence of Students of Ulfiyah Progressive Islamic Boarding School, Segeran Kidul Juntinyuat Indramayu, Indonesia

Entrepreneurship education in Islamic boarding schools plays a crucial role in shaping the independence of students, especially in the era of globalization that demands adaptation and innovation. Ulfiyah Progressive Islamic Boarding School in Segeran Kidul, Juntinyuat, Indramayu, Indonesia has implemented an entrepreneurship education program with the hope of producing students who not only master religious knowledge but also have the ability to become entrepreneurs. However, despite the ideal framework that is expected, the reality in the field shows significant challenges, including limited funding sources, lack of quality mentors, and resistance to change among students. This study aims to explore more deeply the concept and implementation of entrepreneurship education and the challenges faced, students' responses to the program, and the impact of the education on the economic independence of alumni. Using a descriptive qualitative research method, the research subjects included the head of the foundation, the head of the boarding school, the person in charge of the program, teachers, students, alumni, and parents of students. The results of the study show that although entrepreneurship education in Islamic boarding schools faces various challenges, there are positive steps taken to overcome these problems. With the right approach and adequate support, entrepreneurship education can have a significant impact on the economic independence of students, thus supporting the vision of Islamic boarding schools to create an independent and competitive generation.

Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar PAK Melalui Media Canva dalam Problem Based Learning Kelas IX SMP Negeri 1 Wonosari

There are still students of SMP Negeri 1 Wonosari, who have not fulfilled the expectations of the school's vision and mission which is to create people who believe and fear God Almighty, have noble character, are healthy, knowledgeable, capable, creative, independent, and become democratic and responsible citizens. This is evident in the fact that there are still students whose learning outcomes are low. To improve PAK learning outcomes, we tried using canva media in Problem Based Learning. To answer this problem, the researcher used an experimental method with 2 cycles using test and observation instruments. With research using qualitative descriptive data analysis methods. Based on the data obtained, the percentage of student learning outcomes in cycle I is 22% decent, 56% proficient and 22% advanced, which shows that there are still 2 children who need remedial. In cycle II, with canva media, learning outcomes increased to 0% feasible, 11% proficient and 89% advanced. This shows Problem Based Learning can improve critical thinking and learning outcomes.

Peningkatan Motivasi Belajar Peserta Didik Kelas X pada Materi Bersikap Kritis dan Bertanggung Jawab terhadap Media Massa dalam Pembelajaran Problem Based Learning di SMKN 1 Sewon, Yogyakarta

This research aims to improve the learning motivation of 10th-grade students at SMKN 1 Sewon Yogyakarta on the topic of being critical and responsible towards mass media through the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) method. The teaching of Catholic Religion at this school is designed to support the school's vision of producing graduates with character and professionalism. However, student motivation in this subject remains low, as indicated by minimal participation and unsatisfactory learning outcomes. Until now, the teaching method has focused solely on textbooks without engaging variety. This study employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach in two cycles, each consisting of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were three 10th-grade students from the Hospitality Program. The results showed that the implementation of PBL significantly increased students' learning motivation, particularly in thinking critically and being responsible for information from mass media. In the first cycle, student motivation was still relatively low, but after improvements in the second cycle, students became more active in discussions, critical thinking, and confidently expressing their opinions. This research provides benefits for teachers to teach more effectively and is expected to positively impact the quality of education at the school. The findings also show that the PBL method helps students relate learning materials to real life, increase active engagement, and foster critical and responsible attitudes in dealing with information from the media.

Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Pendidikan Agama Katolik dengan Model Problem Based Learning (PBL) Fase B Kelas 4 SDN 14 Kuala Mandor B

Education is an ongoing process aimed at developing human potential holistically, encompassing teaching, training, and experience. The Merdeka Curriculum allows schools, teachers, and students to adapt the learning process based on individual needs and potentials. In the context of Catholic Religious Education, its primary goal is to shape faith and character according to Catholic teachings. However, at SDN 14 Kuala Mandor B, the main challenge in Catholic Religious Education is the dominance of the lecture method, which results in low student participation. This affects the depth of understanding of the material taught. To address this issue, the implementation of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) can be an effective solution. PBL places students at the center of learning, encourages collaboration, and enhances active student engagement, thereby improving learning outcomes in line with the school's vision and mission.

Manajemen Humas dengan Dunia Industri Otomotif dalam Meningkatkan Mutu Pendidikan di SMK Ma’arif 1 Kroya

This research aims to investigate the role of public relations management in establishing cooperation with the automotive industry to improve the quality of education at SMK Ma'arif 1 Kroya Cilacap. The research method used is a case study with a qualitative approach. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with the Principal, the Head of Public Relations at SMK Ma’arif 1 Kroya, and representatives from the automotive industry involved in the cooperation program. The research results show that public relations management plays an important role in forming and maintaining good relationships between the school and the automotive industry. Through promotional efforts, effective communication, and careful negotiation, public relations management has successfully established mutually beneficial partnerships for both parties. Public relations management at SMK Ma’arif 1 Kroya has successfully created mutually beneficial partnerships with various stakeholders, including the community and companies. This cooperation has brought various benefits, including improving the quality of education for students at SMK Ma'arif 1 Kroya Cilacap. The implementation of cooperation at SMK Ma’arif 1 Kroya, represented by the Head of Public Relations, with automotive industry companies includes MoUs with companies, industry visits, industrial internships, student and teacher apprenticeships, integration of the school curriculum with industry needs, training and certification for teachers, as well as the development of facilities and educational infrastructure that meet the demands of the automotive industry. All these efforts contribute to enhancing the quality of learning and preparing students to enter the workforce. This research concludes that effective public relations management with the automotive industry can be an effective strategy for improving the quality of education at SMK Ma'arif 1 Kroya Cilacap. The practical implication of this research is the importance of the role of public relations management in building and maintaining sustainable relationships with external stakeholders to support the school's mission and vision.

The Influence Of Moving Teacher Management In Improving The Quality Of Learning In State Primary Schools Of Bireuen District

<p>One of the policies of the independent learning program is that teachers can be innovative in implementing learning, position themselves as leaders who are sensitive to students' learning situations and conditions and become independent learning leaders. Driving teacher management aims to improve the quality of learning through developing teachers' pedagogical, personality, social and professional competencies. The aim of this research is toknow about the Management of Driving Teachers in Improving the Quality of Learning in Bireuen Regency Public Elementary Schools. This research uses an experimental approach with research design One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Data collection techniques use observation, interviews and tests. The data analysis technique carried out in this research uses qualitative and quantitative data analysis. The results of this research show that: (1) The stages in driving teacher management consist of: planning, driving teachers, participating in coordinating in preparing the school's vision and mission according to the demands of the independent curriculum and developing the latest learning strategies, implementing driving teachers in improving the quality of learning, namely inviting other fellow teachers. to design learning based on students' needs so that they are able to determine appropriate learning styles, and driving teacher evaluation in improving the quality of learning, namely preparing evaluation instruments, carrying out initial, middle and final (as, of & for) assessments of learning to determine students' progress in a material and carry out reflection as a follow-up to improve further learning; 2) The results of the t test show a significant score of 0.02, which shows that there is an influence of driving teacher management on the quality of elementary school learning in Bireun Regency with an increase of around 40%.</p>

Purpose: This study was to explore the concept and components of distributed leadership in secondary schools, and to develop and validate a scale that can objectively measure distributed leadership components. Methods: In this study, a two-step Delphi survey was conducted to develop the distributed leadership concept, components, and questions, and 298 preliminary and 842 main surveys were conducted for secondary school teachers to validate the scale. Results: In this study, distributed leadership is defined as leadership that is not limited to the capabilities or systems of individual leaders under a common vision, but is distributed in a community of practice formed by the action of three elements: leader, member, and situation. Distributed leadership in secondary schools consists of four elements: school's vision, leader, member, and situation, and the final development questions were found to be five questions for the school's vision, six questions for leader, seven questions for member, and eight questions for situation. Conclusion: The distributed leadership scale in secondary schools developed in this study was an empirical study that could clarify differences in various individual variations related to distributed leadership and explore structural relationships between range of factors affecting distributed leadership in secondary schools.

Addressing Challenges in School-Based Management: Planning for Better Learning and Resource Management

This study aims to examine the planning for implementing School-Based Management (SBM) at SMP IT Muhammadiyah An Najah Jatinom, focusing on improving the quality of learning and human resource (HR) management. Ideally, SBM is designed to enhance students' academic and religious competence through participatory planning involving teachers, parents, and the local community. However, despite the formulation of the school's vision and mission, the school faces limited resources and budget, which impact the implementation of planned programs. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation from relevant parties, such as the Principal, Vice Principal, and Teachers. Data analysis was conducted through triangulation to ensure the validity and accuracy of the information obtained. The research findings show that although SBM planning is well-structured, focusing on improving teacher competency through training and workshops and developing infrastructure that supports technology-based educational facilities, there are still deficiencies in coordination and supervision that need improvement for more optimal implementation. Overall, this research emphasizes that structured and participatory planning is essential to achieving SBM success and enhancing educational quality, although challenges in resource management must be addressed for optimal implementation.

Laying Foundations for Islamic Teacher Education

Increasingly, educators committed to the vision of Islamic schooling are expressing sentiments of moral dissonance. On the one hand, they choose Islamic schools because they aspire to affect hearts, nurture whole human beings, and grow spiritually while impacting their learners’ sense of higher purpose. On the other hand, they are up against an era of globalised educational reform, characterised by neoliberal-engendered market forces and neoliberal policy logic that promote performativity and efficiency. This narrows what counts as learning, technicises the art of teaching, and assumes all learning that counts is visible and measurable. The teacher education and ongoing professional learning that educators working in Islamic schools have access to remains bifurcated. It is unable to address how an educator committed to tarbiya as “soul-making” ought to navigate aspirations with realities. This paper serves as the introduction to a special issue (SI) dedicated to conceptualising why Islamically grounded teacher education is needed and what it may entail. This SI will also offer empirical studies related to existing Islamic teacher education and professional learning programmes that capture essential reflections for a burgeoning subfield of Islamic Education Studies. In this introduction specifically, the co-editors and a co-author colleague make three big moves to lay the foundations for Islamic teacher education, including (1) establishing urgency for why Islamic teacher education is needed, (2) conceptualising what makes teacher education “Islamic”, and (3) providing an example of one Islamic teacher education programme’s attempt to advance a coherent professional learning journey for Islamic school educators. Together, these three moves serve as an attempt to redress bifurcation and advance a contextually relevant in-road to teacher education that is rooted in an Islamic paradigm and worldview while conversant with contemporary debates in education.

A contemporary examination of instructional leadership activities and distributed leadership practices in elementary education

While the success of schools is often attributed to the efforts of principals, it is important to determine how schools can embrace distributed instructional leadership to enhance academic performance among learners. It is evident that instructional leadership alone is inadequate and necessitates complementation with a distributed leadership model. This study exclusively focuses on how instructional leadership aligns with distributed leadership, paying special attention to distributed instructional leadership implementation in primary schools in Zimbabwe. In this particular qualitative study, the interpretivist theory served as the guiding framework. The study involved observation and conducting interviews with school teachers and principals to gain insight into the instructional and distributive leadership activities that were taking place within their respective schools. The analysis of the data was approached through the lens of Hallinger and Murphy’s model of instructional leadership. The findings of the study highlighted the importance of active involvement from all members within a school for effective leadership. Furthermore, it was revealed that a holistic approach to school leadership styles is essential, emphasizing the interconnected nature of instructional and distributive leadership activities (distributed instructional leadership). The study ultimately determined that distributed instructional leadership is achieved through collaborative efforts in formulating school visions and embracing shared supervision practices among the members of staff. It was also identified that creating opportunities for staff development in the schools plays a pivotal role in reaching the goals of distributed instructional leadership.

PELAKSANAAN FUNGSI MANAJEMEN SEKOLAH MENENGAH ATAS

School-based management is a school management system that grants authority and power to the institution to manage its operations in line with its potential, demands, and needs. A school is an institution that has the independent authority to establish educational programs (curriculum) and their implications for various school policies in accordance with the school's vision, mission, and educational goals. The aim of this study is to understand and analyze the functions of school management in Senior High Schools. The implementation of school management has been carried out through learning planning, learning implementation, and learning supervision. The learning objectives provide an overview of the relevance and activities to be carried out; the teaching and learning implementation is closely tied to the dimension of human resources, encompassing the number of teachers, educational qualifications, curriculum, library, and more. Furthermore, the supervision of teaching and learning is conducted by the principal in cooperation with the school’s teachers’ council, as well as by the Branch Office of Education both directly and indirectly. Therefore, the implementation of Senior High School Management functions can be concluded as a guideline for conducting learning activities to improve the quality of education. Additionally, alumni and the community should support teaching and learning activities as a form of participation in enhancing the quality of education.

SCHOOL CULTURAL PRACTICES AND LEARNERS ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT, IN PUBLIC PRIMARY SCHOOLS IN RWANDA: A CASE OF GASABO DISTRICT

This study investigates the impact of positive cultural practices in schools on the academic performance of learners in public primary schools in Gasabo District, Rwanda. It focuses on three key objectives: identifying the cultural practices upheld by school leaders, assessing the correlation between these practices and learners academic outcomes, and determining the overall influence of these practices on academic achievement. The research adopts both descriptive and correlational research designs, with data collected from a sample of 168 respondents through questionnaires and interviews. The data was analyzed using IBM SPSS Version 24, employing descriptive, correlational, and regression analyses to address the research questions. The findings reveal that 48.6% of schools do not prioritize cultural practices as a mean to enhance academic performance. However, 78.8% of respondents indicated that academic outcomes, including promotion, graduation rates, repetition rates, and test scores, are significantly influenced by the daily operations of schools. Additionally, 56.3% of respondents agreed that school norms, vision, goals, teacher-learner relationships, and assessment methods play a crucial role in academic success. Regression analysis demonstrated that school cultural practices account for 79.3% of the variance in academic performance (R-square), with a strong positive correlation (Pearsons coefficient = 0.916, p-value < 0.01) between these practices and academic outcomes. The study concludes that the implementation of shared goals, school symbols, norms, and positive teacher-learner relationships can significantly enhance academic performance. It recommends that the Rwandan Ministry of Education and educational planners provide training on cultural practices to school leaders to further improve learner outcomes.

The Principal's Managerial Influence on Mover Teachers in the Implementation of the Independent Curriculum

The objective of this research is to evaluate the managerial influence of school principals on 25 dynamic educators in implementing an independent learning curriculum across six schools in the Gorontalo district. The study employs a quantitative methodology, utilizing questionnaires and a Likert scale (1-5) for data collection. Validation of the instruments is conducted using the product moment formula, and reliability testing is performed using the Cronbach alpha formula. Data analysis encompasses normality, linearity, simple regression, and hypothesis testing facilitated by SPSS Version 24.0. Results indicate a significant correlation between the managerial abilities of principals and the effectiveness of educator implementation of the independent curriculum, demonstrated by the simple linear regression equation: Y = 49.218 + 0.633X. Analysis of the data processing reveals that 66.7% of the variance in the educator's performance (variable Y) is influenced by the principal's managerial skills (variable X). In comparison, the remaining 33.3% is attributed to unexamined variables. This study underscores the importance of principals and motivating educators collaborating to articulate and disseminate the school's vision through a managerial framework that encompasses planning, organizing, directing, and supervising. This collaborative effort empowers both parties to actively engage and lead in fostering learning and school advancement.

Pelaksanaan Manajemen Strategi dan Kebijsakan dalam Peningkatan Mutu Pendidikan Agama Islam di SDIT Otoman Depok

This research is motivated by management strategies and policies to improve the quality of Islamic religious education in elementary schools, but the quality is still low. For schools to provide quality education, they need to develop comprehensive education management strategies. To realize the implementation of strategic management to improve the quality of Islamic religious education at SDIT Otoman, leaders and managers of educational institutions are needed. As leaders of educational institutions, school principals have an important role in improving the quality of education. The focus of this research is to analyze how management strategies and policies are implemented to improve the quality of Islamic religious education at SDIT Otman Depok. The aim of this research is to determine the implementation of management strategies and policies to improve the quality of Islamic religious education at SDIT Otman Depok. This research is a qualitative descriptive research. The research location was carried out at SDIT Otman Depok. Based on the results of SDIT Otman's research, the strategy and management of policies to improve the quality of Islamic religious education should go through three processes: (1) formulation through the formulation of the school's vision and mission, and (2) implementation, through the implementation of school policies and staff motivation. (3) Evaluation and control, including activities such as planning, implementation processes, monitoring activities, and activity results.

Transformational Leadership Training for Vocational School Principals in Ponorogo District : Strengthening Professional Learning Communities

This community service aims to improve the social competence of school principals through transformational leadership training to encourage professional learning communities in the Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity era. The method used in this community service used an IGROW- based coaching approach. The target participants of the training consisted of principals and vice principals of vocational schools in Ponorogo District who were accompanied by coaches from the field of education management with expertise in transformational leadership and educational organizations. The evaluation of this training was conducted using questionnaires. The data collected from these instruments were then analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results of this activity showed that this transformational leadership model training was carried out well and smoothly so that the targets and outcomes of this community service activity could be achieved. Participants were active in conveying and elaborating on the leadership problems faced in their schools. The analysis of the training implementation evaluation data showed that principals were highest in applying the inspirational motivation aspect of transformational leadership. This aspect of inspirational motivation could include the principal's ability to inspire and motivate staff and teachers to achieve the school's vision and goals. This indicates the importance of the principal's role in fostering a positive work environment and motivating their team to achieve better.

The values of schools: an analysis of vision statements

School vision statements articulate an aspired future state for the school, highlighting its ideals, purpose, and unique aspects to direct behavior and promote motivation and commitment among stakeholders. This paper investigates vision statements of schools as artifacts expressing the values emphasized by schools, drawing on organizational literature that shows the role of central organizational artifacts in conveying the values important to the organization. Using a comprehensive sample of elementary schools across all districts in Israel (N = 99), we built on Schwartz’s values theory to identify values and analyze expressed values. We employed a mixed methods approach, combining qualitative and quantitative methods to analyze these values. First, we analyzed the content of vision statements to investigate how values were manifested. Then, we investigated the values hierarchy reflected in the vision statements, and compared sectors to identify the impact of the broader social context. Our analysis revealed variation in values expression: as expected, self-direction and benevolence emerged as the most prevalent values in school vision statements; power and hedonism were less salient. Comparison of vision statements from public and public-religious schools, as well as across schools with varying socioeconomic status (SES), revealed differences in universalism values. Public schools and those with higher SES placed greater importance on universalism values compared to public-religious schools. Additionally, tradition values were less prominent in public schools but were the second most significant values in public-religious schools. We discuss the results within the framework of values theory and educational policy.

TOTAL PERFORMANCE SCORECARD INNOVATION FOR IMPROVING EDUCATIONAL QUALITY AT SD NEGERI 61 BANDA ACEH

This research aims to develop a strategic planning model based on the Total Performance Scorecard (TPS) to enhance educational quality. The research method employed is developmental research involving analysis, design, development, implementation, and model evaluation. The study addresses challenges in formulating school strategic plans that currently do not meet theoretical standards and lack synchronization among plan components. Findings indicate suboptimal alignment with theoretical standards and lack of synchronization among plan components, reflecting minimal involvement from school stakeholders. As a solution, a TPS-based strategic planning model was developed involving all educators to fill out Personal Balanced Scorecards, while administrative staff filled out Organizational Balanced Scorecards. Discussions involving supervisors, school inspectors, and the school committee through Focus Group Discussions produced a SWOT analysis used to formulate the school's vision, mission, goals, objectives, key roles, strategies, and programs for the next five years. Implementation of this model will occur following operational and theoretical validation in the field, with plans to develop TPS-based strategic plans by 2028. Implications of the research highlight the importance of strengthening the strategic planning process at SD Negeri 61 to align more closely with theoretical standards and integrate plan components. Active engagement of all school stakeholders is expected to improve understanding and acceptance of the strategic plan, ensuring that the school's vision, mission, goals, and strategies reflect their needs and aspirations. The development of this model is anticipated to effectively address educational dynamics and future challenges, enabling the school to play a more optimal role in enhancing educational quality.
