Factors Leading to the Acceptance of Management Information System in Public Schools: A Path Analysis

The study aimed to determine the factors leading to the acceptance of management information systems in public schools. There were 300 Public school Teachers who participated in the study. They were selected using random sampling. The structural factors were management support, social influence, personal IT innovativeness, and convenience. The dependent variable was the acceptance of the management information system indicated by perceived usefulness and ease of use. The research employed a quantitative, non-experimental design and descriptive-path Analysis approach. The face-to-face data collection process was utilized using a standardized instrument. The statistical tools used were mean, Pearson’s product-moment correlation, and path analysis. The findings of the study showed that the structural variables of Management Information System (MIS) such as management support, social influence, personal IT innovativeness, and convenience yielded very high-level results. Similarly, the acceptance of MIS in terms of perceived usefulness and ease of use yielded a very high level of acceptance. Furthermore, the perceived structural variables are significantly related to the use of MIS. Finally, the Path analysis revealed a significant relationship between various factors and the perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness of MIS.

Implementation of School Management Information Systems at Vocational School State I Tomohon

This research discusses the implementation of the School Management Information System (SIMS) at SMK Negeri 1 Tomohon using the Rapid Application Development (RAD) method. School management, as a process of planning, organizing, directing, and controlling, is carried out by the school principal and his staff to achieve educational goals. The main goal of school management is to create an effective and efficient learning environment. Information systems, as entities with human, hardware, software, procedures, and data components, aim to collect, store, process, manage, and convey relevant information. SMK Negeri 1 Tomohon, as a vocational school in North Sulawesi, faces management challenges due to the use of conventional systems. Processes such as recording grades, registering students, compiling schedules, and collecting data on school fee payments often take time and are difficult. Therefore, this research is focused on implementing a School Management Information System using the programming languages PHP, HTML, CSS, and MySQL, with users consisting of Admin, Teachers, and Students, and using the RAD method. This research identifies problems in data management and school administration which are still manual, resulting in inefficiencies and potential errors. SIMS succeeded in making a positive impact with a structured interface, allowing easy access to information on grades, schedules, and learning activities. SIMS also facilitates systematic monitoring of student and teacher performance. This research concludes that SIMS can be an effective solution to support educational management at SMK Negeri 1 Tomohon with the potential for wider application in other school environments.

The Influence of School Management Information Systems and Teacher's Social Competence on the Parent Satisfaction of Junior High School Students

This research study aim is to determine the effect of management information systems, teacher social competence on the satisfaction of parents of students. In this research the following methods were used: quantitative, systematic, planned, and structured clearly and neatly. The data collection technique was the use of a questionnaire and observation. The questionnaire instrument was used in order to obtain data on parental responses of students related to school management information systems, and teacher social competence. In comparison, the observation instrument was used to collect secondary data from the features of the school management information system. The pre-research instrument testing on the questionnaire instrument was carried out to test the validity and constancy (reliability) of the statement items. In the next stage, descriptive data and inferential or hypothesis test analyses were carried out. The results showed that there was a positive effect of management information systems (ρ = 0.670), teacher social competence (ρ = 0.546), and both variables are (ρ = 0.810) on the satisfaction of parents of Labschool Unesa 3 Junior High School.

One of the factors that affect the quality of education is the ability of schools to manage school financial resources effectively and efficiently and by balancing the flow of incoming and outgoing funds. School financial management is managed in a transparent and accountable manner which is the basic principle of school financial management. The obstacle that often occurs in school financial management is that it is done manually, where each transaction is recorded in the cash receipts book and cash disbursement book and then recaps are carried out to produce periodic reports. The design and implementation of a school management information system to facilitate school financial management with automated processes can help facilitate school financial management. So that school financial management is carried out in a transparent, accountable, effective and efficient manner. the school's financial management information system also produces information presented in reports as a basis for decision making and the supervisory function can be properly managed

Education Management Information Systems in High Schools of Balochistan: A Case Study of District KECH

The utilization and advancement of information and communication technologies (ICTs) have made significant contributions to the improvement and innovation of educational institutions such as schools, colleges, and universities in Balochistan. The Management Information System (MIS) has played a vital role in accelerating managerial functions, leading to effective and result-oriented decision-making in the educational paradigm. This research aimed to explore the issues and challenges related to the Education Management Information System (EMIS) in Balochistan.. The study had two main objectives: firstly, to evaluate the internal dynamics of EMIS in Balochistan, including data collection, installation, storage, and distribution processes, and secondly, to propose a plan of action for the establishment of a comprehensive and functional EMIS in Balochistan that meets the information requirements of decision-makers at different levels. Explanatory sequential mixed methods were employed as the research design, with a population of 31 EMIS cell data entry operators in District Kech, Balochistan. Cluster random sampling was used to select a sample size of 100% (09) data entry operators from the primary EMIS cell of District Kech. Data collection was conducted through a five-point Likert scale questionnaire and an interview guide. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics (percentage, frequency, mean score), while qualitative data were analyzed using thematic analysis. The study findings revealed that 67% of the respondents agreed that the need for data was determined during meetings with stakeholders, while 100% of the respondents believed that the annual school census was the primary source of data collection. Additionally, all respondents reported collecting data from primary, middle, and secondary schools. Respondents also stated that the district's EMIS cell was the main source of data entry and that data verification was done at the district level. Furthermore, respondents cited wrong entries as the main issue related to data entry, and data dissemination was primarily done at the district level. The study recommends the establishment of well-furnished EMIS cells in each district, the systematic training of data entry operators and concerned officers and staff, and the streamlining of EMIS data to support policy-making and service delivery in institutions.

Strategies for effective integration of managementinformation system in secondary schools: teachers’perspective from Awka Education zone in Anambra State

This study looked into effective integration of management information system (MIS) in secondary schools in AwkaEducation Zone in Anambra State. The study was guided by three research questions and two hypotheses tested atthe 0.05 level of significance based on a descriptive survey research approach. The sampling technique adoptedwas purposive type in order to focus on a determined specialized number of respondents. The study’s samplesize was 130 secondary school teachers. A researcher-created questionnaire was used to gather the data. Thetool was rigorously evaluated by two experts. When the instrument’s internal consistency was examined usingCronbach’s alpha, a reliability value of 0.88 was found. At-test was used to assess the hypotheses after arithmeticmean and standard deviation scores were used to analyze the data. The findings demonstrated that the MISassists the school in managing tests, enrolments, and fees by providing different people with password protection.The findings further revealed that MIS opportunities and needs should be identified and prioritized accordingto educational objectives rather than technical criteria. In addition, there is no significant difference in the maleand female teachers’ knowledge about MIS in secondary schools. The implications of the study were drawn andrecommendations proffered.

Exploring socioeconomic inequality in educational management information system: An ethnographic study of China rural area students.

There is currently enough systematic literature presents about socioeconomic inequalities across different disciplines. However, this study relates socioeconomic inequality (SEI) to rural students educational management information systems (EMIS) in different schools in China. The dynamic force of information technology could not be constrained in the modern techno-based world. Similarly, the study was qualitative and ethnographic. Data were collected through an interview guide and analyzed with thematic scientific analysis. Ten male and ten female students were interviewed based on data saturation point. The purposive sampling technique was used for the rural school and students’ selection. This study summarizes the findings and brings together in-depth emic and etic findings based on new Marxist conflict theory, exploitation, and domination power lens. The study found that SEI creates disparities among EMIS. Household income inequality has influenced on educational achievements of rural areas’ students. Gender-based SEI was not present among students. Family wealth and SES-based exploitation are present regarding EMIS among male and female students. Household wealth is significant for the EMIS. The study put forward a recommendation to the policymakers that exploitation could be overcome among students if the government provides equal opportunities for access to the EMIS.

Management information system in Nigerian secondary schools: challenges and way forward

Information is regarded as a fundamental resource to an organization and as such its management is apparently one of the most strategic operational instruments for organizational efficacy. Management information system plays an indispensable role in the smooth running of secondary schools. This paper examined the management information system in Nigerian secondary schools. The concept of a management information system was examined from different perspectives. Also, the features, components and development of management information systems in Nigeria were examined. The national policy on ICT integration in the Nigerian school system, the roles of MIS, challenges and strategies for effective integration of information systems in the Nigerian school system were elucidated consecutively. The study concluded that the school system requires an efficient management information system to take the secondary school a step further and boosts students’ academic success. It was recommended among others that secondary school administrators must maximally integrate educational management information system towards making an appropriate decision, seminars, conferences and workshops on educational management information system should be periodically organized for relevant stakeholders in secondary education and intensive efforts should be made by stakeholders (e.g. government, NGO, philanthropists) in secondary education towards genuine integration of ICT policies in the school.

<p>Many schools have implemented information systems that can make it easier for users to access the required data. However, SMPN 1 Percut Sei Tuan still uses manual methods to manage academic and non-academic data which causes the process of delivering academic and non-academic information there to not run optimally and lack of academic and non-academic communication between teachers and students. Based on this background, a school management information system was built as an effort to increase the effectiveness of academic and non-academic management at SMPN 1 Percut Sei Tuan.</p>

Implementation of Management Information Systems to Enhance Educational Quality

The context for this study is that people continue to have negative perceptions of the quality of education services. As a result, efforts must be made to improve the quality of educational services. The implementation of an IT-based Management Information System is projected to aid in the improvement of educational services. The goal of this study is to be able to implement a school management information system in order to eliminate the hurdles encountered so that the process of implementing a school management information system in order to improve the quality of education services can be carried out effectively. This study employs a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The study's resource people included school administrators, teachers, TU heads, operators, students, parents, and members of the community. Schools can provide speedier and more effective educational services to service consumers by implementing a management information system. The findings revealed that the school information system used was evaluated in terms of goals (goals), inputs (inputs), processes (processes), and outputs (outputs), which could aid in the implementation of school management information systems in improving the quality of education services at SMP Negeri 11 Lhokseumawe. Both in terms of people resources, facilities, and infrastructure, as well as financial resources. Meanwhile, for the management of teacher data, student data, sarpras data, student education fee payment data, and attendance system, human resource knowledge, HR goals and priorities, student availability, school management support, the existence of structures and schedules, and the implementation of educator content and capabilities are all carried out.

ANALISIS KUALITAS FAKTA DAN KUALITAS PERSEPSI GURU DALAM MENINGKATKAN MUTU PENDIDIKAN BERBASIS SIM DI SDN 067240 TEMBUNG TP 2020/2021

In actual quality, manufacturers show that quality has a system, which can be called a quality assurance system, that allows the production wheel to consistently produce products according to certain standards or specifications. Thus a product is said to be of high quality as long as the product is consistent with the demands of the maker. Meanwhile, in terms of perceived quality, quality is defined as something that satisfies or exceeds customer desires. In this case, it is the customer who determines or evaluates a quality product or service. This study aims to obtain information about Teacher's Perception of Academic Quality Improvement Based on Management Information Systems at SD Negeri 067240 Tembung in terms of aspects: quality and management information systems. This type of research is descriptive research. The population of this study were all 11 teachers at SD Negeri 067240 Tembung. The research method is descriptive qualitative. Data was collected by observation and interviews with teachers and staff at the school. The results showed that: 1. Teachers' perceptions of improving the quality of education at SD Negeri 067240 Tembung were considered weak. The number of those who complain that they are not capable and lack of expertise makes the quality of education in these schools decline. 2. Teachers' perceptions of using Management Information Systems in schools are also considered weak. Some senior teachers who only rely on school operators make the information system not run as smoothly as it should

ANALISA KEBUTUHAN SISTEM INFORMASI AKADEMIK SEKOLAH DASAR

This study aims to identify the need for an easy-to-implement academic information system in elementary schools so that its use can be optimal for school development. This research is a survey research and interviews conducted with school principals and elementary school teachers in Sumedang District, data were collected through questionnaires and in-depth interviews. One of the applications of management information systems in elementary schools is through an academic system to create elementary schools that are able to provide quality academic services to their stakeholders. However, the application of information systems with the design of academic information systems has not been fully implemented in elementary schools. With this research, it is hoped that it will bring up a recommendation for an elementary school academic information system which can later be used as the basis or basis for designing an academic application that can be used by elementary schools to provide quality services for all stakeholders.

School Information Management System (SIMS/EMIS) in Lebanon through the Lens of K-12 Public School Leaders: A Burden or an Opportunity?

The purpose of this paper was to investigate the importance of the Education Management Information System (EMIS) “known as School Information Management System (SIMS)” for the Lebanese public k-12 schools. It is a quantitative study that surveyed the whole population of the K-12 public schools in Lebanon (N=1237[1]). It aimed to determine if SIMS was considered an efficient tool for school principals to improve the quality of learning in their schools. It addressed the multiple technical, human, financial and managerial aspects of SIMS, the different challenges that Lebanese school principals confront while using SIMS. Additionally, it aimed to investigate the improvements school principals suggested and the alternatives they proposed. The study provides recommendations for the Lebanese Ministry of Education and Higher Education on how to improve this application to develop the education sector in Lebanon.

A Proposed Evaluation Framework for School Management Information Systems (SMIS) in secondary schools

Designing and Implementing e-School Systems: An Information Systems Approach to School Management of a Community College in Northern Mindanao, Philippines

Purpose–Colleges and Universities have been established to provide educational services to the people. Like any other organization, the school has processes and procedures similar to business or industry that involve admissions, processing of data, and generation of reports. Those processes are made possible through a centralized system in storing, processing, and retrieval of data and information, the majority of the schools in the country are already adopting computer-based systems to address their needs especially on their student and school-related transactions. The absence of a computer system and the complexity of the transactions of the college which makes the personnel be loaded with paper works in storingand keeping student records and information is the motivating factor why the School Management Information System has been designed and developed for a community college in the northern part of Mindanao.Method-This paper discusses the Major Functionalities and Modules of the systemthroughits implementation methodology which is the AgileModel and its impact on the delivery of services and procedures in the overall operation of the college.Results–The project has been evaluated based on ISO 25010,a quality model used for product/software quality evaluation systems. Based on the results of the evaluation, SMIS has been Functional, Usable, and Reliable with an average for every criterion above 4.04indicating very good performance based on a Likert scale descriptive interpretation.Conclusion–Based on the preceding findings of the study, the respondents agreed that the developed e-school system was functional and lifted the transaction process of the school. The faculty and staff have benefited from making use of the system. The overall quality and performance of the system was verygood in terms of functionality, usability, andreliability.Recommendations–It is recommended that future development such as the smartphone and tablet-based attendance monitoring should be integrated, a kiosk for grades and schedule viewing should also be placed inside the campus that is connected to the database server. Online student information systems should also be developed for the benefit of the students and parents, in easily monitoring school-related activities and requirements.Research Implications–The study enabled the centralization of school and student data in storing, processing and retrieval. The System has been implemented in the college and has been updated now and then for continuous quality improvement.

IMPLEMENTATION OF SCHOOL MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM IN IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF EDUCATION SERVICES AT KLATEN REGENCY

The background of this research is that there are still public perceptions about the less-than-optimal quality of education services. Therefore, efforts are needed to improve the quality of education services. Implementing an IT-based Management Information System is expected to help improve the quality of education services. The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of school management information systems in improving the quality of education services and the obstacles faced in implementing school management information systems in improving the quality of education services. To describe the efforts made to overcome the barriers in implementing school management information systems to enhance the quality of education services. This research method uses the qualitative descriptive analysis method, which is done by describing the facts followed by analysis.

Labor Education in Primary and Secondary Schools in the New Era Based on Modern Information Technology

With the rapid development of information technology represented by artificial intelligence (AI), there has been a great impact on educational methods, educational behaviors, and educational models. It can even be said that there is a fundamental change. Especially under the influence of the pandemic, educational behaviors have undergone radical changes. The education management information system in primary and secondary schools strengthens the service of labor education for primary and secondary school students, with a data analysis system for labor education. A survey on labor education in 103 primary and secondary schools in the region has been carried out. Information technology can well improve the form of labor education in primary and secondary schools and promote the development of labor education. Big data can be used to objectively analyze the problems of labor education in primary and secondary schools, thus proposing a new era of labor education data analysis system and management for primary and secondary schools.

Effectiveness of Management Information System in Privately Managed Schools in Rawalpindi

This study was designed to find out the effectiveness of Management Information System in Privately Managed Secondary Schools in Rawalpindi, to understand the concept of MIS, to identify the ways by which the managers are using MIS in their organizations and to identify the bottlenecks of MIS, if any, and suggest the measures to overcome these problems. The population of the study were the principals of all the privately managed secondary schools in Rawalpindi. The study was delimited to private school systems. 50 Heads were randomly selected as sample of study. The design of the research is descriptive. The data was collected through questionnaire and checklist. A closed ended questionnaire was constructed for principals using MIS. The researcher delivered and collected questionnaires directly from study participants.. The data collected through questionnaires and check lists were tabulated and analyzed in terms of frequency and percentage. The findings of the study concluded that MIS reduces the workload of management, helps in `solving enough problems of school, reduces the errors in general , improves the quality of education, and makes data retrieval and data storage very easy. However majority of principals face hurdles to maintain the system in their institutions. From the study�s findings and conclusions it was recommended that every educational institution should be equipped with MIS, parents and students should have online connectivity to the system and principals should have updated knowledge of MIS to meet the emerging challenges and problems.

Design and Development of Management Information System in Ma'had Huffadz Bilingual Darul Hikmah Malang Using Scrum Method

The scrum method is the most important thing in building software. The following research builds a management information system on Ma'had Huffadz Bilingual Darul Hikmah under Darus-Sa'adah Al Mardliyah Foundation. The institution, which is one of the Boarding Schools Tahfidzul Qur'an located in the city of Malang, East Java. The following research uses the Scrum framework. The implementation of the scrum method in the following research uses three sprints. The process of working on each sprint takes no more than a month. The software development in this research is web-based. Work on application programs using the Laravel framework using the PHP programming language. The results showed that the scrum method is very effective in building a boarding school management information system. Scrum is more dynamic, and the results of this scrum implementation can be seen from the system that has been developed. So that by implementing Scrum can produce a system that suits the requirements of the user.
