Research on allocation mechanism of rural financial resources in China

Financial benefit is the center of rural financial activities, and also the foothold of further allocation of financial resources. There are many problems encountered in the process of rural financial resource allocation. Based on the analysis of existing problems one by one, this paper reveals the reasons affecting the existing problems in China's rural resource allocation, sort out the ideas to improve the allocation of rural financial resources, and put forward corresponding solutions, in order to provide beneficial reference for the construction of the current rural financial resource allocation mechanism in China.

State policy and rural resource allocation in China as seen through a Hebei province township, 1970–1985

This paper presents analysis of panel data from a rural Chinese township before and after reform. The analysis suggests that during the 1970s the implicit tax burdenimposed by state prices and quotas became increasingly difficult for the agricultural sector to bear as additional labor was absorbed on fixed land and dependence on manufactured inputs mounted. Reforms of the early 1980s gave agriculture a much needed productivity boost. The expected transfer of labor from farming to rural industry did not, however, follow at a pace consistent with an assumption of competitive markets and the observed rate of capital formation.

Food, Wages, and Profits: Mechanized Schemes and the Sudanese State

This paper examines the pivotal role of the state in the politics of agriculture being played out on the landscape in Sudan. It is argued that geographic research must come to terms with the operation of the state in order to conceptualize clearly the allocation of rural resources and the transformation of agrarian economies. An in-depth case study demonstrates how the state has intervened on the behalf of those who operate mechanized agricultural schemes in the central rainlands of Sudan. It is concluded that the variegated assistance for schemes reflects the sustained exercise of class interests located in the Sudanese state.
