PENINGKATAN KETERAMPILAN BERBICARA MENGGUNAKAN METODE BERMAIN PERAN SISWA KELAS V SD NEGERI 05 GURUNG

This research aims to describe speaking skills in fifth grade elementary school students using the role playing method. This research conducted by qualitative approach through classroom action research. The subjects in this research were fifth grade students at SD Negeri 05 Gurung. Data collection uses observation and interview techniques. The data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data display, and drawing/conclusions. The results of the research stated that speaking skills with the aspects assessed in the test, namely aspects of pronunciation, intonation and vocabulary, after applying the role-playing method in thematic learning increased by an average of 16.7 points from the average in cycle I of 68.3 to 85 at the end cycle II. These results also indicate an increase of 40% in learning completion from 60% of students who completed in cycle I to 100% completion in cycle II. So the use of the role playing method is very suitable as a learning method. Students also responded in the very good category to the use of role playing methods in thematic learning. Thus, the role playing method is able to improve speaking skills in fifth grade elementary school students, and is recommended for use in learning speaking skills.

Penguatan Keterampilan Komunikasi dan Kepercayaan Diri Melalui Public Speaking: Penerapan Metode Presentasi dan Bermain Peran di Kalangan Siswa SMP

Public speaking is an essential skill that should be mastered by all individuals, including middle school students, as it is valuable not only in academic settings but also in social and professional contexts. This community service initiative aims to enhance public speaking skills and boost the confidence of middle school students through a combination of presentation and role-playing methods. The training consisted of a series of sessions where students were given opportunities to prepare and deliver structured presentations, as well as practice speaking in simulated, real-life scenarios. The results of the program showed significant improvement in both the verbal and non-verbal communication skills of the students. Those who initially lacked confidence became more capable of organizing effective presentations, utilizing appropriate body language, and responding to their audience effectively. Additionally, the training helped students overcome anxiety associated with public speaking, increasing their courage to speak in front of others. While some students may still require a more personalized approach, the overall methods proved to be effective in developing public speaking skills. This training is expected to provide long-term benefits in students' soft skill development and could serve as a sustainable program within schools.

The Effect Students Recording Project as the Learning Material of the Roleplay Technique toward Students Speaking Skill

Speaking is a very important skill for students, and role-playing is recommended to improve it. This study investigated how role-playing exercises supported by video recordings affect students' speaking ability in various contexts. This study involved 24 students in a vocational school in Karawang as the research sample using a pre-experimental method of one group pre-test and post-test design. The results of t-test for each speaking component were obtained using SPSS. Pronunciation has p-value of 0.698 > 0.050, grammar 0.775 > 0.050, vocabulary 0.775 > 0.050, fluency 0.673 > 0.050, and comprehension 0.350 > 0.050. With an average pre-test score of 52.43 and a post-test score of 73.06, this study concluded that role-playing exercises, when supported by video recordings, significantly improve students' overall speaking ability. The findings in this study were that many students were more interested in using the role-playing method with a video record of their project. Where they can see directly the results of their role play, and discuss together the aspects of speaking that are still lacking.

This process is not only about finding a particular talent but also about building self-confidence and the ability to adapt to various situations. In the role-playing method, the themes that can be given are themes that are close to the child's world, such as family and profession through these themes, role-playing will be more effective because children know and directly play the characters they will play and children will interact with other friends. So that social development can be honed to the maximum.

The main problem in this research is how the application of the role playing method affects the learning outcomes of speaking skills for class III MIN 3 Selayar Islands. This research aims to determine the effect of applying the role-playing method on the speaking skills learning outcomes for class III MIN 3 Selayar Islands. This research uses a quantitative approach with an experimental type of research, meaning the experimental method is to study the influence of certain variables on other variables, through trials. under specially created conditions. To analyze the data that will be obtained from the research results, descriptive and inferential statistical analysis will be used. The data collected in the form of pretest scores and posttest scores were then compared. The results of the research show that Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted, meaning that there is an influence of the use of the role-playing method on the speaking ability of Class 3 MIN 3 Selayar Islands students. The test results show that there are differences in scores in students' speaking abilities before and after learning the role-playing method. The average value of students before and after using different role playing methods.

Training to Increase Social Awareness and Responsibility of Children in Child Development Centers (Ppa) Bet'el Oesapa Tengah

Community service activities carried out by Christian psychology study program students in 2023 with the theme Love and Humanity presented 12 young participants at PPA Bet’el Oesapa Tengah. The aim was to provide knowledge and skill training so that the participants could understand what social care is, the benefits of social care and the responsibility thereof, and be able to distinguish between the forms of disadvantages of social care and responsibility. In terms of skills, participants were able to understand how to develop a caring attitude within themselves and know the consequences if they don’t carry out their responsibilities. First, a training need analysis (TNA) was carried out for resource persons in the field to explore the needs of the participants, then a common thread was drawn to find out the problem and a conclusion was drawn on the interventions that were suitable for the participants according to the theme “Positive Psychology.” The training comprised of lectures, question–answers, simulation, and role-play methods for the transfer of knowledge and skills. Qualitative and descriptive measurements were used for the pretest and posttest analyes, respectively, finally reflecting two main aspects; the cognitive and affective processes obtained from the participant’s answers submitted after the main activities were carried out. Penerapan Metode Bermain Peran Dalam Meningkatkan Ketrampilan Bahasa Inggris Pada Anak Usia Dini

The purpose of this study is to find out how the role play method can be applied to improve the English language skills of young children in Kindergarten Group B of Bakalani Village, Purwantoro District, Wonogiri Regency. This study was conducted in Purwantoro District Bakalan Village Kindergarten, the number of subjects was 19 children, 10 of which were 5-6 years old boys and 9 were girls. This research method uses classroom action research. This study was conducted in 3 cycles and each cycle was conducted in two meetings. The research data collection techniques are observation and speaking skills tests. Meanwhile, the data analysis technique used in this study is a descriptive statistical analysis method that uses percentages. Based on research findings and data analysis, the role-playing method can improve students' #039; English language skills. This can be seen in the survey on the classroom performance of the students in the first session and#039; The knowledge of the English language is only 16% or still classified as very poor. After that, continuing in cycle II, students and#039; English proficiency increased to 44 percent or was still classified as poor. Then in cycle III, the increase was 78% or classified as good.

Keefektifan Metode Role Play untuk Meningkatkan Pemahaman Siswa pada Mata Pelajaran Budi Pekerti Berbahasa Mandarin

Characteristics learning has the goal of imparting ethical or morals. According to the Ethics Learning theme "Chapter 12 Giving advice and Chapter 13 Caring for friends" which were covered during the research, the researcher t chose the title "The Effectiveness of the Role Play Method for Increasing Students' Understanding of the Chinese Language Ethics Subject." Data measurement uses quantitative methods. Character Building learning utilizes the Chinese language role play method to help students understand the learning theme while training them to speak Chinese confidently in front of the class. The data collected for measurement consists of quiz results completed by students. The quiz results reveal that many students have not met the competency limits. In other words, role play method in this research has not yet achieved the targeted success. The main factor that influences the success or failure of research on the role play method is insufficient practice time, preventing students to understanding and speaking fluently in Chinese during role play dialogues. What students are currently doing is still at the reading stage, their body movements do not align with the practice required by the theme.

Penyuluhan Peningkatan Belajar Bahasa Inggris Berbasis English for Specific Purposes (ESP) di Madrasah Aliyah NW Jeruk Manis

The objective of community service is to train Madrasah Aliyah (MA) NW Jeruk Manis teachers in learning English for a specific purpose (ESP). The method used in the implementation of community service activities at NW Jeruk Manis is the role-playing method, which uses a learning model that is oriented to specific needs. The learning scenario is used as a concept in a hotel, with the topic "at the hotel". The course of learning: (1) listening and seeing picture explanations about restaurant and restaurant waiter expressions, (2) acting as customers and waiters, (3) making transactional and interpersonal conversations and monologues in English, (4) practicing the above conversation seriously as if it happened and it is very important to do in real life, (5) each member of the group presents it and discusses it together under the supervision of the teacher, (6) correctly recites words with good pronunciation, (7) practice making conversations with topics others related to the world of work and in the context of daily life, (8) working with groups to make conversations recorded on CD or video, (9) creating themselves to be practiced outside of school hours, and (10) finding other examples that are often used in natural conversation. Service was held at MA NW Jeruk Manis Pemepek village Pringgarata district Lombok Tengah Regency. Subjects are language teachers with 3 hours of learning time.

Penerapan Metode Bermain Peran (Role Playing) dalam Pembelajaran Berbicara Bahasa Makassar Siswa Kelas V UPT SDN 167 Inpres Malewang Kabupaten Takalar

The purpose of this research is to describe the results of the speaking skills of fifth-grade students at UPT SDN 167 Inpres Malewang, Takalar District, through the application of the role-playing method. This research is of a quantitative nature. Data collection in this research was carried out through testing techniques on the research sample. The overall data obtained were analyzed through several stages: 1) creating a raw score list, 2) creating a frequency distribution and raw score, 3) calculating the scores obtained by students, and 4) classifying students' skills based on the specified criteria. The research results indicate that students who scored 75-100 were 15 individuals (75%) out of 20 samples and have achieved the established criteria, which is 75% of the samples scoring 75-100. It is evident from the scores and percentages of fifth-grade students at UPT SDN 167 Inpres Malewang, Takalar District, in learning to speak the Makassar language through the application of the role-playing method that they are categorized as skilled.

The Guidance Iqra' Studying be Using Classic Methods for Children at Al-Firdaus Mosque in Papua's Yapen Islands

This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the classical method in tutoring Iqra' for children at the Al-Firdaus Mosque, Yapen Islands, Papua. The problem underlying this research is the difficulties experienced by children in learning to read Iqra' through conventional tutoring methods. This has an impact on their ability to understand and memorize Arabic letters and Iqra's verses effectively. This research uses a quantitative type with a case study approach. The data obtained is the concrete result of observations, interviews, and documentation that the researcher conducted with the informants that he had determined. This research shows that children who receive Iqra' learning guidance using the classical method have better abilities in recognizing Arabic letters, understanding Iqra' reading, and overall fluency in reading Iqra'. The classical method applied is the continuous repetition or repetition method and the use of role-playing methods, which enable children to feel comfortable during the learning process. This research has important implications in the context of developing the Iqra' tutoring method for children. The classical method can be an effective alternative for improving children's learning outcomes in reading Iqra'. Iqra'.

Live Action Role Playing (Larp) in Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapy: A Case Study

Role-play is an established tool in psychotherapy. Recent literature has indicated the similarities between live action role-playing (larp) and psychotherapy. In cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), which is one of the most widespread therapeutic approaches, Role-play is a tool for developing desired target behavior (Fliegel 2020). This also applies to so-called skills groups in CBT. One form of these skills groups is the Gruppentraining sozialer Kompetenzen (Hinsch et al. 2015). Some literature has highlighted the similarities between role-playing methods used in CBT-oriented skills groups and larp (Aschenbrenner 2013, Balzer 2008). A deficit in social skills is associated with a variety of mental disorders (Segrin 2001). The use of a CBT-oriented larp may therefore be helpful in the treatment of several mental disorders. A standardised form of CBT-oriented larp in the sense of a clinical manual does not yet exist. There is also no empirical evaluation with questionnaires of such a therapeutic larp yet. This article presents the implementation and empirical evaluation of a standardised CBT-oriented larp. This clinical case study was conducted with 6 patients with mental disorders.Participants were aged 30 years or younger and all had at least one affective disorder. Established clinical screening questionnaires were used for assessment. Data were collected in a pre-post follow-up design. The study shows that this CBT-oriented larp is feasible with people with mental illness. Qualitative data show good goal attainment and positive experiences among participants. Short-term positive developments were also found in the screenings. However, an empirical statement about the effectiveness of the larp is not yet possible; in the long term, the screenings even show negative trends. Participants were aged 30 years or younger and all had at least one affective disorder. Established clinical screening questionnaires were used for assessment. Data were collected in a pre-post follow-up design. The study showed that a CBT-oriented larp has positive effects on mental health, especially in the short term, and can be an effective component of conventional behavioral therapy in the long term.

Improving Speaking Skills of 11th Graders at Nguyen Trai High School Using Role Play: Students’ Perspectives

This study investigates the efficacy of role-play as an instructional strategy for improving speaking skills and investigates students’ attitudes towards this technique. Conducted at Nguyen Trai High School, the research adopted an action research approach, encompassing planning, execution, observation, and reflection within a single cycle. A cohort of 40 eleventh-grade students during the 2022/2023 academic year participated. The study employed direct observation to gauge student attitudes towards role-play and its impact on speaking abilities. Additionally, a questionnaire survey was administered to collect student opinions on the role-play method and speaking skills. Further insights were gleaned through interviews with select students, aimed at delving deeper into their questionnaire responses and validating the accuracy of feedback. This mixed-methods approach facilitated an assessment of role-play’s effectiveness in enhancing speaking skills, with findings suggesting a significant improvement in students’ speaking competence.

Enhancing Speaking Skills Through Role Play and Multimedia Technology

This study explores and evaluates the effectiveness of integrating roleplay methods and multimedia technology in improving students' English-speaking skills in the hospitality industry. Using an action research approach, this study was conducted among third-semester by totalling sampling 30 students majoring in travel business at Prasetiya Mandiri Polytechnic Bogor. This research method includes three cycles of action: planning, action, observation, and reflection. In the planning stage, roleplay scenarios relevant to real situations in the hospitality industry are designed and combined with multimedia technologies such as video tutorials then participate in roleplay activities integrated with these multimedia elements. The results showed that integrating role play and multimedia technology significantly improved students' speaking skills. Students become more confident in using English, can communicate more effectively, and show improvement in pronunciation, intonation, and proper use of vocabulary. This study concludes that the integration of Role play with multimedia technology is a practical approach to improving English-speaking skills among hospitality students.

Peningkatan Keterampilan Berbicara Siswa Menggunakan Metode Role Playing pada Pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di Kelas IV SDN 2 Cibanteng

This study aims to improve students' speaking skills through the implementation of the role-playing method in Indonesian language learning. The research method used is classroom action research (CAR), which consists of planning, action, observation, and reflection in each cycle. The subjects of this study are 32 students, consisting of 17 female and 15 male students. Based on the research results, the students' speaking skills are still low; students tend to be shy, less expressive, hesitant, and confused about what to say. Students have not mastered linguistic factors such as pronunciation accuracy, intonation, and word choice. The role-playing learning method involves students extensively in speaking through drama activities. The results of this study indicate that students' speaking skills improved using the role-playing method. In the first cycle, the average score was 76.6, with 23 students passing and 9 students not passing, resulting in a percentage of 71.88% categorized as high. There was an improvement in the second cycle, with an average score of 87.96, where 30 students passed and 2 students did not, resulting in a percentage of 93.75% categorized as very high

ROLE-PLAYING METHODS IN SECOND LANGUAGE LEARNING

This article describes the activities that can be carried out during the application of the role-playing method in teaching a second language. The theory used is Stephen Krashen's second language learning theory. This research is a literature study research. The results of this study describe the activities that can be carried out during the application of the role playing method, namely by listening to a short dialogue and then playing a role. Second, reading storybooks in the target language and then choosing important events in the story to act out. The use of this role-playing game provides a great opportunity for learners to communicate even though they have limited second language vocabulary. Therefore, role-playing encourages students to be brave in communicating, so that it will be easier to understand the second language they are learning. Teachers can use this method in teaching a second language.

The Effectiveness of a Role-Play Activity in Practicing EFL Learner’s Communicative Skills

With the officially publication of General Senior High School Curricular Standards (2017 Edition) and English Curricular Standards for Compulsive Education (2022 Edition), Chinese English education formally steps into the "key competence era". The new standards put forward new ideas, new methods and new theories for English language teaching, and give higher requirements for teachers' "teaching" and students' "learning". Besides, since last century, scholars at home and abroad have carried out studies on “role-playing method” and “communicative skills” respectively, and later results confirmed the positive promotion of role-play activities to the cultivation of communicative skills. Therefore, role-playing method was originally used for theatrical performances and trainings, and then later introduced and widely used in foreign language teaching. The new standards clearly stipulates that it is necessary to "develop language ability, cultivate cultural awareness, improve thinking quality and learning ability". In order to develop learners’ communicative ability, cultivate their key competences and promote all-round development, the effectiveness of a role-play activity in practical EFL learners' communicative skills is worth exploring.
