This study entitled The Role of Dr. Islamic Boarding Schools. Sheikh Salman Daim on the Development of Islam in Bandar Rejo Village, Bandar Masilam District, Simalungun Regency. The formulation of the problem in this study is how is the biography of Dr. Syekh Salman Daim as the founder of the Islamic boarding school, what is the history of the establishment of the Dr. Sheikh Salman Daim and what is the role of Dr. Salman Daim in the development of Islam in Bandar Rejo Village. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method because this method is considered very appropriate so that the writer can describe various sources of data and information in the field. The result of this research is Dr. Syekh Salman Daim is a scholar who was born on January 1, 1942 in Sipare-pare Village, who is the son of a farmer who studied tareqat until he occupied the 36th lineage of the Thariqat Naqsyabandiyah Al-Kholidiyah Jalaliyah, he founded the Dr. Islamic boarding school. Sheikh Salman Daim, who was originally only a place of encouragement for the congregation of the Naqsyabandiyah tariqat under the leadership of Sheikh Salman Da'im. Dr. Syekh Salman Daim is a scholar who holds the 36th genealogy of the Thariqat Naqsyabandiyah Al-Kholidiyah Jalaliyah, who continues to practice his knowledge so as to make tareqat places which gradually develop into Islamic boarding schools and where initially many people who did not become congregations of tareqat gradually became congregations tareqat. And boarding school Dr. Syekh Salman Daim contributed in the field of education for Badar Rejo Village.

Analyzing Student Needs at Darullughah Wal Karomah Islamic Boarding School Through Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs

This article discusses the role of Islamic boarding schools in achieving quality education by fulfilling students' basic needs by referring to Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs theory. This research method uses a qualitative approach with a type of field research. Data was obtained from two main sources, namely primary data and secondary data. Primary data, especially from the Darullughah Wal Karomah Islamic Boarding School. Data collection techniques include interviews, observation, and documentation, with data analysis based on the Miles and Huberman approach.The research results show that Islamic boarding schools meet the basic needs of students: (1) physiological with a canteen, cooperative, bedroom, and barber shop; (2) a sense of security through counseling guidance, physical and spiritual security; (3) affection from caregivers; (4) appreciation through annual activities and prizes; (5) support for potential development through LPBA, LPBI, and extracurricular activities. The research results show that Islamic boarding schools have met the needs of students based on Abraham Maslow's perspective, starting from physiological needs, a sense of security, social needs, and self-actualization.

PERAN PONDOK PESANTREN DALAM PENGEMBANGAN MASYARAKAT DI ERA GLOBALISASI

This article aims to analyze the role of Islamic boarding schools in community development in the era of globalization. So far, Islamic boarding schools are known to be limited to traditional religious educational institutions with kyai and santri components. However, currently, Islamic boarding schools have made great progress in various ways, not only as traditional religious educational institutions but also as pioneers of social transformation. Therefore, this research is important as a vehicle for communicating to the government or the wider community about the role of Islamic boarding schools in their development. Community development is a fundamental concept that underlines many well-established terms such as resource development, rural community development, community economic development, rural revitalization and community-based development. The method used in this research uses a qualitative approach with the nature of library research with data collection techniques obtained through relevant literature: journals, textbooks and online literature. The research results show that the role of Islamic boarding schools has been implemented well in community development, which shows the quality of social relations and planned and gradual progress, such as improving public services and facilities, increasing local government accountability, increasing community participation, improving leadership, building new institutions, and initiate economic and physical development. The Role of Al-Falah Boarding School in Gender Segregation: An Analysis of the Separation of Men and Women in Islamic Education

Abstrak: This research examines the role of Islamic boarding schools in gender segregation, specifically focusing on the separation of men and women in Islamic education. A case study was conducted at Al-Falah Boarding School in Banjarbaru, Indonesia, using a descriptive-qualitative approach. The main findings indicate that gender segregation at Al-Falah Boarding School has positive impacts on learning, such as creating a focused learning environment and facilitating memorization of study materials without distractions from the opposite gender. Gender-based learning has been implemented in the study of Islamic jurisprudence (fikih). The role of the boarding school in the development of this separation is deemed effective, as evidenced by the achievements in personal and environmental development.

Initially rooted in the assimilation of the elitist Hindu-Javanese mandala educational model. The influential Walisanga, also known as Kyai of the pesantren, served as pillars in teaching, fighting, and sustaining the sultanates. This research examines the dynamics of Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia with a focus on typology and development. Through a qualitative descriptive approach and library research, this research identified three developing typologies of Islamic boarding schools: Salaf Islamic Boarding Schools, Modern Islamic Boarding Schools, and Radical Islamic Boarding Schools. Salaf Islamic boarding schools, which are traditional Islamic boarding schools, maintain the teaching of classical Islamic books without adding to the general curriculum. The case study of the Tarbiyatun Nasyi'in Islamic Boarding School in Jombang provides an illustration of the sustainability of the Salafist model which still exists today. Modern Islamic boarding schools, represented by Pondok Modern Gontor, show transformation by incorporating a general curriculum, emphasizing Arabic and English language teaching, and managing Islamic boarding school management neatly. This phenomenon illustrates the adaptation of Islamic boarding schools to the demands of the times and general education. Radical Islamic boarding schools reflect a conservative and scriptural Islamic ideology, often involving fundamentalist views and radicalism. Case studies of Islamic boarding schools in Lamongan and Ngruki highlight the negative impact of radical thinking in the students' thinking patterns and the involvement of some alumni in acts of terrorism. This research describes the variations in educational approaches and religious views in Islamic boarding schools, reflecting the dynamics of Islam in Indonesia. In the context of technological developments, it is important for Islamic boarding schools to form students who are moderate, tolerant and adaptive to changing times. This study aims to analyze the process of internalizing the values ​​of religious moderation in Islamic boarding schools as an effort to face the Society 5.0 era. This research uses a literature study approach by collecting data from various relevant literature sources, such as books and journals related to the internalization of religious moderation values ​​in Islamic boarding schools. The data obtained was then analyzed descriptively to describe the process of internalizing the value of religious moderation and the benefits for Islamic boarding schools. The research results show that Islamic boarding schools have a central role in internalizing the values ​​of religious moderation. The implication of this research is the need to increase the role of Islamic boarding schools in developing activities that support the internalization of the values ​​of religious moderation.

In addition, this research emphasizes the role of cultural maintenance and Islamic boarding school modeling in forming ethical and moral values, which contribute to the nation's cultural richness. The implication of this research is that education in pesantren should continue to integrate religious and general education while preserving cultural values to serve as a means for shaping a strong and relevant cultural identity within Indonesian society.

Based on the results study, it can conclude that Cottage the Darul Ulum Seputih Banyak Islamic Boarding School has played a major role in developing the morals of the youth of SB 6, Seputih Banyak District, Central Lampung Regency. This article examines the practice of Ta'zir, a form of discretionary punishment, within the context of Islamic boarding schools. Ta'zir holds a significant place in Islamic jurisprudence, allowing authorities to determine penalties for offenses not explicitly addressed in religious texts. However, the application of Ta'zir has raised concerns, particularly in the context of Islamic boarding schools, where traditional practices intersect with modern notions of human rights. Drawing upon a multi-disciplinary approach, this study delves into the historical, cultural, and religious aspects of Ta'zir, elucidating its evolution from its inception to its current manifestations within Islamic boarding schools. By analyzing primary sources, legal texts, and case studies, the article underscores the diverse interpretations of Ta'zir and its malleability in adapting to contemporary circumstances. Furthermore, the article critically evaluates the potential conflicts between the traditional practice of Ta'zir and international human rights standards. It examines instances where Ta'zir punishments might be perceived as infringing upon human dignity, bodily integrity, and freedom from cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment. The study also explores the role of Islamic boarding schools in shaping and perpetuating these practices, considering the interplay between religious education, discipline, and the protection of children's rights. The findings of this research reveal a complex landscape where tradition clashes with modern sensibilities. It highlights the importance of reinterpretation and contextualization of Ta'zir in line with the principles of justice, mercy, and human dignity as emphasized within Islamic teachings. It calls for a thoughtful reevaluation of Ta'zir within Islamic boarding schools, promoting an inclusive approach that safeguards both religious heritage and fundamental human rights.

Islamic Boarding School and Counseling Teachers: The Challenge of Creating Resilient Santri in the New Paradigm

Pesantren has Islamic education management, a unique character, and is able to harmonize with the times. The role of Islamic boarding schools through BK teachers has challenges in the new paradigm of producing tough students since when problems arise, students need a tough personality to deal with them. This study aimed to find out the preparation efforts and the programs owned by Islamic boarding schools in producing tough students in synergy with BK teachers in carrying out their programs. This research method uses descriptive qualitative research through interviews with BK teachers and homeroom teachers at Islamic boarding schools as well as documentation and observation. The results of this study are important for position holders in Islamic boarding schools in preparing tough students through pesantren programs in synergy with the school/madrasah. The study concludes that it is time for policymakers and BK teachers to be literate with the times in the new paradigm era by adjusting the programs of Islamic boarding schools because it cannot be separated from the challenges by providing guidance and counseling services according to the needs of students in terms of making strong individuals.

Peran Pesantren Dalam Peningkatan Sumber Daya Umat

The purpose of this research is a form of concern for the efforts made by Islamic boarding schools as the oldest Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia, Islamic boarding schools are unique Islamic educational institutions, because their names are not taken from Arabic. And historically, pesantren with the role of kiai were considered to be the basis of community resistance against colonialists, so their existence was always monitored, their movements were restricted, their communication was hampered in order to strengthen the existence of this pesantren. So this research was conducted as a form of providing information to readers. This research method uses library research, namely content analysis which is an in-depth discussion collecting data in accordance with the discussion of the role of Islamic boarding schools in increasing the human resources. The result of this research is that educational institutions in Indonesia should follow the example of Islamic boarding schools which always play an active role in producing religious and moral students who are able to compete in the global era.
