In Italy, as in many countries, it is difficult to measure the phenomenon of youthful deviance and associate it with the role of educational institutions in growth and training. It is a silent, hidden, overbearing bond, which is not measurable by the indicators represented in the social, psychological and economic systems and which often hides one or many truths (misunderstandings, personal, family and socio-economic distress, baby crime, gang initiation). We will try to highlight the elements of this link.What can be done to reduce the discomfort of young people that very often results in aggressive behavior towards themselves and towards others?

Role Of Institutions In Growth Of Countries

The purpose of this paper was to look at the role of institutions in growth of countries. We compared income and quality of institutions data among 87 developing countries to see if institutions that promote economic freedom and investment lead to higher economic growth. In addition, we wanted to look at the role of institutions in economic growth at the local level in a country. For this analysis, we compared income and quality of institutions data for different states in India. In both cases, we found that growth is significantly affected by the quality of institutions.

As yet, authors only have a highly preliminary understanding of the factors that lead a society into a political equilibrium which supports good economic institutions. However, it is clear that it is the political nature of an institutional equilibrium that makes it very difficult to reform economic institutions. The authors illustrate this with a series of pitfalls of institutional reforms. The author's analysis reveals challenges for those who would wish to solve the problem of development and poverty. That such challenges exist is hardly surprising and believe that the main reason for such challenges is the forces authors have outlined in this paper. Better development policy will only come when authors recognize this and understand these forces better. Nevertheless, some countries do undergo political transitions, reform their institutions, and move onto more successful paths of economic development.

New Growth Theories: What is in there for Developing Countries?

This paper reviews new growth theories (NGT) from the perspective of developing countries. It shows that despite some views to the contrary, NGT and the growth debate that it spawned have some useful lessons for developing countries. Some of these lessons and ideas were indeed available from before. However, these are now more precisely formulated and connected more intimately with other fields of economics. Developing countries can benefit from such NGT implications as the possibility of policy influence on the long term growth rate, importance of technological diffusion in convergence, distinct role of institutions in growth, and potency of trade for growth. NGT has also led to a re-examination of cross-country implications of the neoclassical growth theory (NCGT), revealing in the process that, when unencumbered from unwarranted assumptions, NCGT can be more useful in understanding the growth regularities across developing countries.
