Reducing Pain on A Severe Scale After Caesarean Section Surgery With LI 4 and HT 7 Acupressure

Pain after caesarean section surgery is a physiological symptom that is usually experienced by postpartum mothers. This pain can be treated in various ways, including acupressure. The combination of giving acupressure at points LI 4 and HT 7 can reduce the pain scale of post-operative and post-operative mothers. Objective: To determine the effect of LI 4 and HT 7 acupressure on reducing the pain scale after SC. Method: This research is a quasi-experimental research with a one-group pretest and posttest design. The sample for this research is 23 postpartum mothers with a consecutive sampling technique. The data collection technique uses a list of questions or a questionnaire with NRS. The accumulated data will be analyzed using the paired T-test. The results of the paired T-testshowed a p-value = 0.000, meaning that there was a significant difference in the reduction in pain scale before and after the intervention. There is an effect of giving acupressure points LI 4 and HT 7 on reducing the pain scale after SectioCesarea surgery.

First-in-human study of dosimetry, safety and efficacy for [177Lu]Lu-P15-073: a novel bisphosphonate-based radioligand therapy (RLT) agent for bone metastases.

Bisphosphonates are pivotal in managing bone tumors by inhibiting bone resorption. This study investigates the therapeutic potential of [177Lu]Lu-P15-073, a novel bisphosphonate, for radioligand therapy (RLT) in bone metastases. Ten patients (age 35 to 75) with confirmed bone metastases underwent therapy with a single dose of [177Lu]Lu-P15-073 (1,225 ± 84 MBq, or 33 ± 2 mCi). Prior to treatment, bone metastases were verified via [99mTc]Tc-MDP bone scans. Serial planar whole-body scans monitored biodistribution over a 14-day period. Dosimetry was assessed for major organs and tumor lesions, while safety was evaluated through blood biomarkers and pain scores. Serial planar whole-body scans demonstrated rapid and substantial accumulation of [177Lu]Lu-P15-073 in bone metastases, with minimal uptake in blood and other organs. The absorbed dose in the critical organ, red marrow, was measured at (0.034 ± 0.010 mSv/MBq), with a notably low normalized effective dose (0.013 ± 0.005 mSv/MBq) compared to other 177Lu-labeled bisphosphonates. Persistent high uptake in bone metastases was observed, resulting in elevated tumor doses (median 3.12Gy/GBq). Patients exhibited favorable tolerance to [177Lu]Lu-P15-073 therapy, with no new instances of side effects. Additionally, 87.5% (7/8) of patients experienced a significant reduction in pain scale (numerical rating scale, NRS, from 5.1 ± 2.3 to 3.0 ± 1.8). The tumor-background ratio (TBRmean) of [99mTc]Tc-MDP correlated significantly with [177Lu]Lu-P15-073 uptake (P < 0.01), indicating its potential for prediction of absorbed dose. This study demonstrates the safety, dosimetry, and efficacy of a single therapeutic dose of [177Lu]Lu-P15-073 in bone metastases. The treatment was well-tolerated with no severe adverse events. These findings suggest that [177Lu]Lu-P15-073 holds promise as a novel RLT agent for bone metastases.

Efficacy of a Religious-Based Slow Deep Breathing Technique in Reducing Postoperative Pain: A Quasi-Experimental Study

Non-pharmacological methods offer a noninvasive solution for postoperative pain reduction, enhancing patient quality of life, and expediting recovery post-surgery. The aim of this study was to analyze differences in pain scale reduction in postoperative patients after administering slow deep breathing distraction-relaxation techniques with a religious approach. The design was experimental with pre- and post-tests by providing treatment to respondents using slow deep breathing exercises with a religious approach (the activity related to relaxation using sentences and special treatment explained in the data collection section) to postoperative patients. Pain scale scores ranged from 0 to 10. The total number of participants was 60 (laparotomy, mastectomy, or fracture surgery). A dependent t-test was used to analyse data . The pain scale score for patients after slow deep breathing surgery with a religious approach ranged from 4 to 10 on a numerical rating scale. The average reduction in pain scale score for patients after slow deep breathing surgery with a religious approach was 2.17 with a standard deviation of 0.994. The results of the statistical tests with the dependent t-test obtained a p-value of 0.000. This shows a significant reduction in pain levels among postoperative patients who perform slow deep breathing exercises with a religious approach. These findings suggest that this method is an effective and accessible way to manage postoperative pain. In conclusion, slow deep breathing with a religious approach is effective in reducing postoperative pain

Teknologi Virtual Reality (VR) dalam Manajemen Nyeri pada Pasien Kanker

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of Virtual Reality (VR) technology in pain management in cancer patients. The method used in this research is a systematic review where this article is searched through online databases, namely Science Direct, Scopus, Sage Journals and ProQuest. The results of research from ten articles show that the use of VR technology in pain management in pediatric and adult cancer patients, both in the process of making a diagnosis and in surgery and chemotherapy or radiation therapy, shows a significant reduction in pain scale. In conclusion, the use of virtual reality technology is not only effective but also safe and efficient for use in pain management in cancer patients, providing assurance about its application. EFFECTIVENESS OF VACUOTHERAPY AND DRY NEEDLING AS ADJUNCT TREATMENT FOR MUSCULOSKELETAL CASES: A COHORT IN A PT CLINIC

Introduction: Usage of vacuum therapy and dry needling in physical therapy management of musculoskeletal cases have gained increasing usage but there is a limited number of literatures regarding its effect. This study determines the effect size of the interventions, which are vacuotherapy and dry needling as adjunct treatment to exercises, performed in a local PT clinic to musculoskeletal cases in three different treatment sessions with a week gap in between. Methods: The study is a retrospective-cohort where sampling was purposive in gathering historical patient charts. The numerical pain rating scales and relevant range of motion in the musculoskeletal cases were collected for analysis. Results: Results showed large significant reduction in pain scale between sessions but no significant changes in all ranges of motion across different anatomically categorized musculoskeletal cases. Discussion: The results of this study imply that using vacuum therapy and dry needling as adjunct to therapeutic exercises can reduce pain intensities significantly but not range of motion (ROM). Further research is recommended regarding effects of these tools for ROM and their retention of effects.

Asuhan Keperawatan Medikal Bedah Efektivitas Finger Hold Relaxation Dan Hand Massage Dengan Minyak Terapi Terhadap Intesitas Nyeri Pada Pasien Post Apendiktomi Di Ruang Dahlia RSUD Dr. T.C Hillers Maumere

Unhealthy eating patterns can cause appendicitis and appendicitis can occur at any age, the way to overcome this is by carrying out surgery or an appendectomy. The consequences of this surgery can cause pain. One way to reduce pain is by using finger hold relaxation and hand massage techniques. The aim of this case study is to determine the reduction in pain scale in post-appendectomy patients after finger hold relaxation and hand massage therapy. The method used in this case study is case study design with a nursing care process approach. The subjects in this case study were 2 patients, obtained from inclusion and exclusion criteria, data collection using the Numerical Rating Scale (NRS). The results of the case study show that the average pain level of the two patients after being given finger hold relaxation and hand massage therapy intervention for 2 days experienced a change from moderate pain to mild pain. The conclusion of this case study shows that there were changes that occurred after the finger hold relaxation therapy intervention and hand massage using therapeutic oil were given to the two patients and they experienced a decrease in the pain scale.

Effectiveness of murottal Al-Quran therapy on post-operative pain

In the last few decades, non-pharmacological therapy has been commonly used in the management of postoperative pain with the advantage of minimal side effects. Murottal Al-Quran therapy is a non-pharmacological therapy that can be used to treat pain. The application of non-pharmacological murottal Al-Quran therapy for post-operative pain has not yet been clarified. The aim of this literature is to analyze the effect of Al-Quran murottal therapy on patients with post-operative pain. The method used applies the Literature review method. Articles related to the effectiveness of Al-Quran murottal therapy in post-operative pain patients were summarized from the Science Direct and Google Scholar databases. Article searches were carried out using the PRISMA method with keyword searches: post-operative pain, Al-Quran murottal therapy, post and pre-intervention pain scale, and pain scale reduction. As a result of a total of 7 articles identified, women constituted the majority of respondents with an age range of 40-45 years and more than 60 years. The results of the review summarize 1 article using the Al-Kahf letter and 2 articles using the Ar-Rahman letter as a non-pharmacological intervention. Most articles explain that the intervention is implemented for 15 minutes using audio recording media. The Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) is used as a pain scale assessment method. All articles show a decrease in the postoperative pain scale after intervention (NRS pre-post intervention &lt;0.05). In conclusion, Al-Quran murottal therapy is very effective as a non-pharmacological therapy in efforts to reduce the pain scale in post-operative patients.

ASUHAN KEPERAWATAN PADA PASIEN GAGAL GINJAL KRONIK DENGAN HEMODIALISA MELALUI TINDAKAN KOMPRES DINGIN PADA AV SHUNT

Hemodialysis is an intervention designed to assist patients in managing fluid and electrolyte metabolism. The hemodialysis process involves puncturing the arteriovenous (AV) shunt area to facilitate dialysis. The repeated punctures in this area can result in pain. Research Objective: To provide an overview of nursing care for chronic kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis through the use of cold compresses on the AV shunt site. Method: This study is a case study with a medical-surgical nursing care approach. The research was conducted from February to March 2023 on two chronic kidney failure patients undergoing hemodialysis. Results and Discussion: After the intervention of applying cold compresses to patients I and II, a reduction in pain scale was observed. For patient I, the pain scale decreased from 6 (0-10) before the intervention to 3 (0-10) after the intervention. For patient II, the pain scale decreased from 5 (0-10) to 3 (0-10) after the intervention. Conclusion and Recommendations: Cold compresses can effectively reduce pain at the AV shunt puncture site in hemodialysis patients. Therefore, it is recommended to incorporate cold compress interventions for patients undergoing hemodialysis.

EFFECTIVENESS OF SKIN TRACTION ON PREOPERATIVE PAIN SCALE IN INTERTROCHANTERFRACTURE PATIENTS

Fracture is a condition where the continuity of bone tissue is broken. Intertrochanter fractures are fractures that occur in the pelvic bones with a transverse line from the greater trochanter to the lesser trochanter. Broken bones are a potential or real threat to a person's integrity, so they experience physiological and psychological disorders that can cause reactions in the form of pain. Traumatic pain due to bone fractures that damage healthy tissue. The first treatment is to observe whether there are other accompanying injuries, after that skin traction is applied which is considered effective before performing surgery to reduce pain. Objective: to determine the reduction in pain scale in intertrochanteric fracture patients after skin traction was applied. The method in this research uses a pre-experimental design with a one group pretest-posttest design. Data collection techniques used questionnaire sheets and the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) pain scale. Data analysis used paired T test. The results showed that the intensity of pain before and after being given skin traction had decreased. The conclusion in the study was that the installation of skin traction before surgery could reduce the pain scale in intertrochanter fracture patients.

Evidance based case report (EBCR) : intervensi terapi genggam jari dalam penurunan skala nyeri pada pasien post operasi laparotomi

Background: Laparatomy is a surgical procedure by opening the abdominal cavity through an incision. One of the nursing problems that often appears in post laparatomy patients is severe acute pain or acute pain that often occurs during the treatment or healing period in patients who have been treated laparotomy. Puspose: To know the intervention of finger-held therapy in the reduction of pain scale in postoperative laparotomy patients. Methods: This type of research is case study research. The focus in this study was the application of finger-held therapy to lower the pain scale in post op laparatomy patients. Results:There were 3 people who experienced a decrease in the pain scale from before the intervention was carried out by administering finger grip therapy. The results of the study showed that there was an effect of the pain scale before and after finger grip therapy in both post-laparotomy cases. Conclusion: Handheld finger therapy is able to reduce the scale of pain in laparatomy post op patients.&#x0D; &#x0D;

Evaluation of Gabapentin as a Treatment of Breakthrough Cancer Pain Caused by Metastatic Prostate Adenocarcinoma.

Breakthrough Cancer Pain (BTcP) is defined as a temporary increase in pain that occurs spontaneously. The use of gabapentin is believed to be able to reduce pain complaints in patients with BTcP. However, research to support the efficacy of gabapentin in relieving pain in patients with BTcP is still limited. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the use of gabapentin in patients with BTcP caused by metastatic prostate adenocarcinoma. The study was conducted by analytic study with a prospective approach. The subjects were all patients with metastatic prostate adenocarcinoma at Zainoel Abidin General Hospital during 2022-2023 which fulfilled inclusion and exclusion criteria (30 patients). Data analysis was performed in the form of reduction in pain scale in patients with BTcP caused by metastatic prostate adenocarcinoma using gabapentin and the combination of the opioid gabapentin with T-Test. The results showed that there was no significant difference between the reduction in posttreatment pain in patients with BTcP caused by metastatic prostate adenocarcinoma taking gabapentin alone or taking the opioid gabapentin combination, either on days 3-4 or on days 5-6 (p > 0.05). However, based on the results of the evaluation on day 3-4, it was found that gabapentin was able to reduce pain by 2.2272, whereas the combination of opioid gabapentin was only able to reduce pain by 1.916. The evaluation on days 5-6 showed that gabapentin was able to reduce pain by 4.1363 and the combination of gabapentin opioids by 3.2083. The conclusion of this research is that gabapentin is effective in the treatment of BTcP caused by metastatic prostate adenocarcinoma.

Keller Funnel Efficacy in "No Touch" Breast Augmentation and Reconstruction: A Systematic Review.

A systematic review of PubMed, Embase, the Cochrane database, and Google Scholar was performed between 2005 and 2021. All clinical-based, retrospective and prospective studies utilizing the Keller funnel method for breast implant insertion were selected. Six studies were identified for evaluation: five were retrospective cohorts and one was a prospective trial. No randomized controlled trials were found. Outcomes reported included lower rates of capsular contracture (RR, 0.42; P = 0.0006; 95% CI, 0.25-0.69), shorter incision lengths (35.5 ± 2.1 mm), less insertion time (mean = 6 seconds), and decreased complications, and one paper reported ultimately greater patient satisfaction with outcomes (BREAST-Q Score: 92%). This review suggests that the Keller funnel is a useful method for no-touch breast augmentation and reconstruction surgery. The Keller funnel reduces subsequent capsular contracture rate, surgical time, and incision length and allows for easier insertion. However, our findings support recommendation of a prospective randomized controlled clinical trial with larger population size and follow-up intervals.

Nursing Implementation of Acute Pain Management in Post Mastectomy Surgery Patients

Background: Surgery is a potential or actual threat to a person's integrity, both biopsychosocial and spiritual. One of the treatments for breast cancer is surgery, either tumor removal or mastectomy. The problem that often arises in postoperative patients is pain, which can affect the patient's overall condition. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of pain management with deep breath relaxation therapy on the post operative mammae pain scale. Methods: This case study design uses a descriptive method. The sampling method used was purposive sampling with 2 respondents, namely post-mastectomy patients in the Surgical Room of Muhammadiyah Hospital Palembang, in March 2022. The case study data were taken using interviews, observations and physical examinations carried out descriptively and presented in a narrative manner Results: After implementing acute post-mastectomy pain management with deep breathing relaxation therapy in both case study subjects for 3 days there was a 3 point reduction in pain scale, in patient 1 from pain scale 6 to pain scale 3, in patient 2 from pain scale 5 to a pain scale of 2, and both case study subjects were able to move and fulfill basic needs independently. Conclusion: Acute pain management with deep breathing relaxation therapy can reduce pain scale and help patients move quickly.

SPIRITUAL EMOTIONAL FREEDOM TECHNIQUE (SEFT) TERHADAP PENURUNAN NYERI PASIEN POST OPERASI

Almost all surgeries cause pain, the pain that is felt is the result of the incision. The effects of pain that do not subside are myocardial ischemia, increased morbidity, and hopelessness. One intervention to relieve postoperative pain is Spiritual Emosional Freedom Technique (SEFT). The purpose of this case study is to describe the reduction in pain scale of postoperative patients in Nusa Indah Room TK.III 04.06.02 Bhakti Wira Tamtama Semarang Hospital after SEFT intervention. This type of research is descriptive using a case study approach. The subjects in this study were 2 postoperative patients with criteria of moderate to high pain. Analysis of pain measurements using the Numerical Scale Branch scale. The analysis showed that there was a decrease in pain scale after the intervention. On subject 1 the pain scale 7 (high pain) became the pain scale 4 (moderate pain) and subject 2 the pain scale 8 (high pain) became the pain scale 4 (moderate pain). Effective SEFT therapy is used to reduce postoperative pain in the room because it is easy and simple. Good therapy is applied by nurses in the room to reduce the scale of pain in postoperative patients.

Pengaruh Mobilisasi Dini Terhadap Penurunan Skala Nyeri Pada Pasien Post Operasi Laparatomi di Ruangan Intensive Care Unit

Post Laparatomy pain can be minimized by giving pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapy. Nurses has a role to reduce the pain scale of patients with independent nursing care. One of them is early mobilization therapy. This study aims to determine the effect of early mobilization of decrease in pain scale in patients post operations laparatomy. True-experimental research design and use the pretest-posttest with a control group approach. The sampling technique uses Consecutive Sampling The number of samples was 30 people using the Slovin formula. Collection of pain scale data uses C.P.O.T and pain scale collected pre and post mobilization action, then analyzed univariate and bivariate with a Mann-Whiteney U . The results of the study were obtained by p-value &lt;0.005 there was an effect of early mobilization of the reduction in pain scale. This research suggested that early mobilization actions can be used as one of the independent nursing interventions in dealing with pain problems in post laratomy patients at Intensive Care Unit

Continuous sciatic nerve block as preoperative care for lower-limb revascularization surgery

Background The prevalence of peripheral arterial disease increases with age and it is highly prevalent (15–20%) over 70 years. Surgery can be the best option to resolve the disabling pain. The Anesthesiology and Acute Pain Service routinely adopts continuous popliteal nerve-analgesic block as preoperative care. Patients and methods This case series analyzes the medical records of patients under continuous ultrasound-guided sciatic block, during 2 years (2017–2018) before lower-limb revascularization surgery. From a total number of 25 records identified, 15 were selected for analysis. The primary outcome was pain relief from basal line to 24 h postcatheter placement, measured by the Numerical Rating Pain Scale, and the secondary outcomes were reduction of Numerical Pain Rating Scale after 72 h, complications, and possible technical difficulties. Results We found pain reduction in the first 24 h of catheter placement, with median Numerical Rating Pain Scale reduction from 10 [interquartile range (IIQ) 10–10] to 0 (IIQ 0–2) (P&lt;0.001); and from 0 to 72 h of catheter placement, with Numerical Rating Pain Scale decreasing median from 10 (IIQ 10–9) to 2 (IIQ 0–2) (P&lt;0.0001). Four (26.7%) patients had their catheters displaced, and in another four (26.7%) patients, hyperemia was observed around the catheter’s introduction ostium on the skin. Conclusion Preoperative continuous sciatic nerve block seems to be an effective and safe approach for pain management of peripheral vascular occlusive disease patients waiting for surgery.

Fascia Chuna Therapy for Piriformis Syndrome: A Review of Clinical Study

Objectives The purpose of this study was to assess the effect of fascia chuna therapy in the treatment of piriformis syndrome. Methods A literature search was conducted using 8 databases to identify all randomized controlled clinical trials (RCTs) that investigated fascia chuna therapy as a treatment for piriformis syndrome. The selected studies are analyzed the risk of bias through Cochrane risk of bias tool. Results Among 37 articles that were searched, 3 RCTs met our inclusion criteria and were included in this analysis. These studies demonstrated positive results of Fascia Chuna Therapy with respect to the reduction of pain scale and functional scale compared with other treatment methods. Conclusions Based on results, fascia chuna therapy could be effective in piriformis syndrome. However there are limitations that the number of selected studies was small and risk of bias was unclear. More well-designed RCTs are required to provide clearer evidence.

THE EFFECT OF DRINKING TURMERIC STEW TOWARDS REDUCING DYSMENORRHEAL PAIN SCALE ON STUDENTS OF SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL 1 OF EAST PAMONA, POSO REGENCY

ABSTRACT&#x0D; Menstrual pain, or dysmenorrhea, is a problem that practically all women, regardless of age, suffer during their menstrual cycle. However, the adolescent age group has the highest prevalence of women experiencing this. The symptoms of dysmenorrhea include pain in the lower abdomen extending to the waist that typically begins 2-3 days before menstruation and lasts for 1-2 days throughout menstruation, along with certain associated symptoms such as heartburn, pains, or prickles.1 The purpose of this study is to assess the effect of turmeric stew on the pain scale used to diagnose dysmenorrhea in students attending Senior High School 1 East Pamona, Poso Regency. With a total of 34 respondents, this study used the Quasy Experiment method with a non-randomized control group pre-posttest design and a purposive sampling strategy. The study's data were gathered utilizing general data collection sheets and NRS pain scale measurement sheets (Numeric Rating Scale). The Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and the Mann Whitney U-Test were used to analyze the data. Before drinking turmeric stew, both the treatment and control groups had moderate pain. Meanwhile, the average pain intensity after drinking the turmeric stew was 68.8 % mild pain and 31.2 % no pain in the treatment group, and 37.5% mild discomfort and 62.5 % moderate pain in the control group. Following statistical analysis with the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, a p-value of 0,000 ≤ α 0,05was achieved, showing that turmeric stew affected both groups. Additionally, a statistical test utilizing the Mann-Whitney U-Test yielded a value of 0,000 ≤ α 0,05, showing a significant difference in pain scale reduction between the treatment and control groups. To summarize, ingesting turmeric stew has a substantial effect on lowering the pain scale for dysmenorrhea in students.&#x0D; Keywords: Turmeric stew, Dysmenorrhea, High school students

PENURUNAN SKALA NYERI PENGGUNAAN KETOROLAK INJEKSI PADA PASIEN OPERASI SESAR DI RUMAH SAKIT ROEMANI MUHAMMADIYAH SEMARANG

Pain management after cesarean section must be done properly to prevent the emergence of chronic pain in patients. Ketorolac is the first choice as an analgesic to treat that pain. The appropriate dosage and time of analgesic treatment have impact to pain scale decreasing and another analgesic adding. The purpose of this study was to determine the magnitude of the reduction in the pain scale of using ketorolac injection in cesarean section patients at Roemani Muhammadiyah Semarang Hospital. This research is a descriptive observational study. The research design is cross-sectional study by using retrospective data. The data were taken through the medical records of patients with cesarean section at Roemani Muhammadiyah Hospital Semarang for the period July - December 2019. The sample of this study was elective caesarean section patients who received ketorolac injection therapy in that period. The age range of patients taken was 18- 45 years. The reduction in pain scale was measured by the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) method. The results showed that the sample data obtained and those who met the inclusion criteria were 88 patients. Before the administration of ketorolac injection, the number of patients with moderate pain was in the greatest number, namely 53.41% and after the administration of ketorolac injection, the number of patients with mild pain was the greatest, namely 63.64%. Patients who experienced a decrease in the pain scale of 39.78%, the stability of the pain scale of 47.72%, and an increase in the pain scale of 12.50%. The average reduction in the pain scale of cesarean patients who received ketorolac injection at the Roemani Muhammadiyah Semarang Hospital was 1.09.&#x0D; &#x0D; Keywords: Cesarean section, Pain, Pain scale, Ketorolac, Roemani Muhammadiyah Hospital Semarang.
