Boosting Local Economy Through Strategic Tourism Development in Indonesia

This research aims to analyze and describe the strategies implemented by BUMDES Sumber Lestari in developing the Sumber Dhuwur tourist attraction. Tourism development significantly influences regional and citizen income, job creation, and economic activities. Utilizing qualitative methods, data were collected through interviews with village officials, the BUMDES chairman, local residents, and visitors, along with observations and documentation. The study uses qualitative descriptive analysis, involving data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. Results indicate that BUMDES Sumber Lestari has effectively focused on infrastructure and facility development, but has yet to optimize human resource management in tourism and the creative economy. The research provides insights into strategic planning for rural tourism development, emphasizing the need for comprehensive human resource strategies to enhance competitiveness and economic impact. Sexual violence mitigation in realizing a violence-free campus

Sexual violence occurs in higher education institutions. Sexual violence mitigation studies have a theoretical novelty using Giddens' structuring of the problem of sexual violence. The research aims to determine the relationship between policy stakeholders, lecturers, students, and education staff; know the obstacles and challenges; and know the model of sexual violence mitigation in higher education. The research used qualitative with case studies of three higher education in Indonesia. The informant consisted of 27 respondents: students, lecturers, and education staff. Data collection through interviews, documentation, observation, and focus group discussion (FGD). Data processing using the NVivo 12 Plus application; Publish or Perish; and VOSviewer. Data analysis using: data reduction; present data; and conclusion. This research shows that the relationship is very important between policymakers and lecturers, students, and education staff in efforts to prevent and handle sexual violence. Cooperation of all parties in facing challenges in handling and prevention of sexual violence on campuses that have obstacles, to realize a campus free from violence. This study concludes that realizing a campus that is free from sexual violence can be implemented on campuses in Indonesia. Recommendations for participatory and gender-responsive sexual violence mitigation policy models are applied in higher education in Indonesia.

Entrepreneurial Challenges and Opportunities for Generation Z: A Qualitative Analysis

Entrepreneurial activities are one of the important pillars of economic development efforts. the characteristics of Generation Z in Indonesia require a life balance between the work environment and their social or personal life. This research aims to find out the dynamics of entrepreneurial interest in Generation Z which will be reviewed in depth by researchers. The research method used is qualitative. The subjects of this research are entrepreneurs from Generation Z. The data were collected online using the online data collection technique. Data collection was conducted online using online data collection techniques. Data collection was conducted online using in-depth interview techniques. The data analysis process in this study went through four stages, data collection, data reduction, data display, and data verification. The results of this study show that the dynamics of entrepreneurship that occur in Generation Z are found in educational background, experience, desire to have an impact on others, self-confidence, utilization of technology, and support from the surrounding environment to develop an interest in entrepreneurship until finally deciding to carry out entrepreneurial activities. This research is expected to provide new knowledge about the dynamics of entrepreneurial interest in Generation Z and is expected to increase entrepreneurial interest in Generation Z today.

Integration of GRC and ESG in Hospital Risk Management and Its Impact On Sustainability

Hospitals face complex and evolving risks as regulations, patient expectations and operational challenges change. Integration of Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) is important to ensure holistic risk management and hospital sustainability. This study aims to analyze the concept of GRC and ESG integration in hospital risk management. This study used qualitative research methods. The data collection technique in this research is literature study. The data that has been collected is then analyzed in three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The research results show that GRC and ESG in hospital risk management have a significant impact on operational sustainability. GRC ensures that hospitals have a strong framework for managing governance, risk and compliance, which is important for maintaining operational stability and avoiding legal issues. ESG, on the other hand, emphasizes the importance of environmental, social and governance responsibilities in the day-to-day operations of hospitals. So by integrating GRC and ESG, hospitals can identify and manage risks more comprehensively, from compliance with health regulations to the environmental and social impacts of operations.

Analisis Kalimat "From the River to the Sea, Palestine Will be Free" dalam Perspektif Ilmu Komunikasi

The prolonged conflict between Israel and Palestine has produced various narratives and slogans that reflect aspirations, demands, and resistance, one of which is the phrase “From the River to the Sea, Palestine Will be Free.” This slogan is known to have strong political appeal because it holds an explicit message related to Palestinian independence aspirations. From a communication science perspective, it is important to understand how this phrase constructs and communicates meaning and how it is received among diverse audiences. This research aims to analyze the slogan through the perspective of political communication, framing theory, and social identity theory, in order to examine its impact and communication implications in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The research method uses a qualitative approach with literature study as the main method. Data collection is done through documentation techniques on various written sources, which are then analyzed through three steps, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the phrase “From the River to the Sea, Palestine Will be Free” is often used in the pro-Palestinian movement as a symbol of freedom aspirations, and serves as an effective communication tool to build identity, mobilize solidarity, and influence public perception regarding complex political issues. The conclusion of this study confirms that the slogan has an important role in shaping political narratives and creating a significant communication impact in the dynamics of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

A Digital Twin Framework Utilizing Machine Learning for Robust Predictive Maintenance: Enhancing Tire Health Monitoring

Abstract We introduce a novel digital twin (DT) framework for predictive maintenance of long-term physical systems. Using monitoring tire health as an application, we show how the DT framework can be used to enhance automotive safety and efficiency, and how the technical challenges can be overcome using a three-step approach. Firstly, for managing the data complexity over a long operation span, we employ data reduction techniques to concisely represent physical tires using historical performance and usage data. Relying on these data, for fast real-time prediction, we train a transformer-based model offline on our concise dataset to predict future tire health over time, represented as Remaining Casing Potential (RCP). Based on our architecture, our model quantifies both epistemic and aleatoric uncertainty, providing reliable confidence intervals around predicted RCP. Secondly, to incorporate real-time data, we update the predictive model in the DT framework, ensuring its accuracy throughout its life span with the aid of hybrid modeling and the use of discrepancy function. Thirdly, to assist decision making in predictive maintenance, we implement a Tire State Decision Algorithm, which strategically determines the optimal timing for tire replacement based on RCP forecasted by our transformer model. This approach ensures our DT accurately predicts system health, continually refines its digital representation, and supports predictive maintenance decisions. Our framework effectively embodies a physical system, leveraging big data and machine learning (ML) for predictive maintenance, model updates, and decision-making.

Ecranisation Of Plot From Novel To Film Of Maze Runner: The Death Cure

This research focuses on the form of ecranisation the storyline adaptation from the novel to the film Maze Runner: The Death Cure. The purpose of this research is to describe the forms of ecranisation (addition, alteration, and compression) through a comparison of the narrative facts from the novel to the film. This study employs a literature study approach with a qualitative descriptive method. The data consists of words, phrases, and sentences found in the novel and the film script. The data collection techniques in this study include reading, noting, observing, transcribing the film into a script, translating the film script, and classifying the data. The analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. This research will utilize comparative literature theory, narrative facts (plot, characters, and setting), and ecranisation (addition, alteration, and compression). The results of this research show that the comparison between the novel Maze Runner: The Death Cure and the film has narrative similarities and employs a mixed plot structure. The differences observed are evident in the introduction of new plots and settings in the film. This occurs due to the condensation of the story in the film; not all information from the novel can be fully incorporated into the film. The form of ecranisation (changes) that occurs in adapting the novel Maze Runner: The Death Cure into the film tends to include more additions, such as the introduction of new settings and plots. This happens because the past setting is not prominently featured, and there are elements of adult themes within it, indicating that every process of ecranisation inevitably experiences changes.

Tourist Preferences in Visiting Marine Tourism Attractions in Makassar City: Case Study on Akkarena Beach, Makassar City

Tourism directly provides employment opportunities for the community, reduces poverty and unemployment levels, creates new business opportunities, increases regional income, and increases national foreign exchange earnings. The presence of tourism can generate commercial activities that can bring significant social, cultural and economic benefits to the country. This research aims to determine tourists' preferences in visiting the marine tourism attraction Akcepatn Beach, Makassar City. The type of research used is descriptive research using qualitative research methods. The research location was carried out at Akbecause Beach which is located on Jl. Tanjung Merdeka, Tamalate District, Makassar City. The population used in this research were tourists who had visited Akcepatn Beach, Makassar City. The method for determining the sample in this research is using accidental sampling. Data collection was carried out through interviews, observation and documentation with data analysis used namely data exploration, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The research results show that the tourist attractions offered are the main factor for tourists in determining their preferences when visiting Akcaus Beach, Makassar City. Meanwhile, the price indicator is not a choice for tourists to come to visit. Meanwhile, facilities and accessibility also play an important role in determining tourists' preferences in visiting Akcaus Beach.

SMILES Initial Data Release: Unveiling the Obscured Universe with MIRI Multiband Imaging

The James Webb Space Telescope is revolutionizing our view of the Universe through unprecedented sensitivity and resolution in the infrared, with some of the largest gains realized at its longest wavelengths. We present the Systematic Mid-infrared Instrument (MIRI) Legacy Extragalactic Survey (SMILES), an eight-band MIRI survey with Near-Infrared Spectrograph spectroscopic follow-up in the GOODS-S/HUDF region. SMILES takes full advantage of MIRI’s continuous coverage from 5.6 to 25.5 μm over an ∼34 arcmin2 area to greatly expand our understanding of the obscured Universe up to cosmic noon and beyond. This work, together with a companion paper by G. Rieke et al., covers the SMILES science drivers and technical design, early results with SMILES, data reduction, photometric catalog creation, and the first data release. As part of the discussion on early results, we additionally present a high-level science demonstration on how MIRI’s wavelength coverage and resolution will advance our understanding of cosmic dust using the full range of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon emission features from 3.3 to 18 μm. Using custom background subtraction, we produce robust reductions of the MIRI imaging that maximize the depths reached with our modest exposure times (∼0.6−2.2 ks per filter). Included in our initial data release are (1) eight MIRI imaging mosaics reaching depths of 0.2−18 μJy (5σ) and (2) a 5−25.5 μm photometric catalog with over 3000 sources. Building upon the rich legacy of extensive photometric and spectroscopy coverage of GOODS-S/HUDF from the X-ray to the radio, SMILES greatly expands our investigative power in understanding the obscured Universe.

Compression of Hyperspectral Image using JPEG Compression Algorithm

This paper delves into the considerable challenges of working with hyperspectral images, which are notably large and multidimensional, with file sizes often surpassing hundreds of megabytes. Hyperspectral imaging captures light across a continuous range of wavelengths, providing detailed spectral information for each pixel. This rich dataset is invaluable for applications such as environmental monitoring, precision agriculture, mineral exploration, and medical diagnostics, where accurate spectral data aids in identifying materials and detecting subtle variations. However, the immense data volume not only strains storage and transmission resources but also requires efficient processing and analysistechniques to handle the high-dimensional data without compromising quality. Additionally, compression methods are essential to manage storage constraints and improve real-time usability, but they must balance data reduction with the preservation of spectral integrity for effective analysis and application.

Pengelelolaan Fasilitas Laboratorium Komputer di SMA Islam Al Amalul Khair Palembang

This study aims to analyze the implementation of computer lab facility procurement, the factors influencing it, and the solutions for the procurement process at SMA Islam Al Amal Khair Palembang. The study was conducted at SMA Islam Al Amalul Khair Palembang using a descriptive qualitative research method. The informants in this study were the school principal and the vice principal in charge of facilities and infrastructure. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis techniques used include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through source triangulation and technique triangulation. The research findings indicate that the implementation of computer lab facility procurement at SMA Islam Al Amalul Khair Palembang has been successfully carried out. However, there are several aspects that need further improvement, particularly in the procurement process, to enhance the school's quality and competitiveness with other institutions

Evaluation of Teachers' Literacy and Numeracy Skills: A Case Study on Certain Teachers' PPG Participants

The Teacher Professional Education Program (PPG) aims to improve teachers' competence in carrying out the learning process, which in turn has an impact on improving the quality of education. The purpose of the research is to find out how to evaluate the literacy and numeracy skills of teachers participating in the PPG Certain Teachers. This study uses a qualitative approach, namely evaluation research with a case study method that focuses on one phenomenon. The design models used in CIPPO evaluation are context, input, process, product, and outcome. The population is all informants, namely PPG managers, PPG Coordinators, Lecturers, Pamong Teachers and PPG participants of Certain Teachers totaling 569 people. Data collection by document study, interview guidelines and observation guidelines. Qualitative data analysis uses the Miles and Huberman model, namely data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawn. In general, based on the graduation percentage of 99.3% declared to have passed UKPPPG and 0.7% did not pass UKPPPG, it can be concluded that the literacy and numeracy skills of teachers participating in certain PPG Teachers are very good and the PPG program at LPTK Malikussaleh University can continue.

Analysis of the Impact of the Existence of Kuala Namu Airport on the Income of Culinary Business MSMEs in Batang Kuis

The developments that take place in the Kuala Namu Airport area contribute to regional growth. Observations revealed that their income grew dramatically with the establishment of Kuala Namu airport. The purpose of this study is to assess the impact of the Kuala Namu Airport on culinary business MSMEs in Batang Kuis. This study combines field research with a qualitative descriptive method. This research data was gathered using observation techniques, interviews, and documentation studies. Data was evaluated using data reduction, data presentation, and data verification techniques, as well as SWOT analysis. The research findings explain that the existence of Kuala Namu Airport has had a positive impact on people's income, where before the airport, the average income of culinary business MSMEs in Batang Kuis was only IDR 3,645,000, and after the airport was built, the average income of people increased to IDR 10,447,500, with a 100% increase. Knowing your strengths and weaknesses, as well as potential possibilities and threats. Culinary Business MSMEs in Batang Kuis can be more prepared to use and optimize both the potential and opportunities that exist in the area, as well as to improve existing shortcomings and be ready to confront varied competitors or threats that occur.

PERAN ORANG TUA DALAM MENGATASI KENAKALAN REMAJA STUDI KASUS DI KELURAHAN LETTE KECAMATAN MARISO KOTA MAKASSAR

The purpose of this study was to determine the role of parents in providing guidance on efforts to overcome juvenile delinquency in Lette Village, Makassar City. The research method uses qualitative with data collection techniques used, namely observation, interviews, and documentation. After that the collected data is analyzed with the stages of data reduction, data presentation and verification or drawing conclusions. The results of this study show that the problems studied are related to the role of parents in overcoming juvenile delinquency. It was found that the role of parents in overcoming juvenile delinquency includes participating in youth religious activities in Lette Village, sports lessons to avoid juvenile delinquency activities at night. The main supporting factors are good communication between parents and children, a harmonious and stable family environment. Various obstacles often hinder the role of parents in overcoming juvenile delinquency in this area. One of the main inhibiting factors is the lack of time between parents and children, the factor of peers who behave badly, the surrounding environment is not good, and the factor of people who have low human resources.

The Implementation of Community Empowerment In Local Energy Communities: A Case Study

The concept of a local energy community for community empowerment is one of the efforts to provide alternative energy for rural communities. One such community is in the Andungbiru Village, Tiris District, Probolinggo Regency that sought to bring to life this idea through the PLTMH unit by the Tirta Pijar PLTMH Group in collaboration with CSR PLN Nusantara Power UP Paiton in the Kampung Setrum program. This study aimed to examine the implementation of an Local Energy Community in Andungbiru Village based on an analysis of community empowerment outcomes. A qualitative, case study approach was used. Primary data were obtained from in-depth interviews and focus group discussions with informants who were chosen by the purposive sampling method. Meanwhile, secondary data drew from the PLN Nusantara Power UP Paiton CSR document and other documents. Data analysis was carried out by data reduction, categorization, data presentation, and drawing conclusions by employing outcome analysis, which were then tested for data validity using source triangulation techniques and expert validation. The results of this study describe how the implementation, decision making, management of human and natural resources, and response of the Tirta Pijar PLTMH group to problems within the local energy community, impact the empowerment of Local Energy Communities. This research concludes that community empowerment at the Tirta Pijar PLTMH has reached the highest (power-shift) level. Street Vendor Regulation Enforcement in Keputran Market Surabaya by Satpol PP

Street Vendors (PKL) play a significant role in Indonesia's informal economy, although their presence often conflicts with the government regarding the use of public spaces. In cities like Surabaya, the government seeks to regulate PKL activities through local regulations enforced by the Municipal Police (Satpol PP), aiming to create a more orderly and cleaner urban environment. However, these efforts often face resistance from PKL, who feel their livelihoods are being threatened. This study aims to examine and describe the implementation of the policy for controlling street vendors by the Satpol PP of Tegalsari District in the Keputran Market area of Surabaya. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis is conducted using an interactive analysis technique involving data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that communication, resources, and bureaucratic structure indicators support the policy implementation, but the disposition indicator is not yet optimal due to the lack of full support from the implementers, thus requiring improvements to enhance policy effectiveness.

Functional projection K-means

A new technique for simultaneous clustering and dimensionality reduction of functional data is proposed. The observations are projected into a low-dimensional subspace and clustered by means of a functional K-means. The subspace and the partition are estimated simultaneously by minimizing the within deviance in the reduced space. This allows us to find new dimensions with a very low within deviance, which should correspond to a high level of discriminant power. However, in some cases, the total deviance explained by the new dimensions is so low as to make the subspace, and therefore the partition identified in it, insignificant. To overcome this drawback, we add to the loss a penalty equal to the negative total deviance in the reduced space. In this way, subspaces with a low deviance are avoided. We show how several existing methods are particular cases of our proposal simply by varying the weight of the penalty. The estimation is improved by adding a regularization term to the loss in order to take into account the functional nature of the data by smoothing the centroids. In contrast to existing literature, which largely considers the smoothing as a pre-processing step, in our proposal regularization is integrated with the identification of both subspace and cluster partition. An alternating least squares algorithm is introduced to compute model parameter estimates. The effectiveness of our proposal is demonstrated through its application to both real and simulated data. Measurements and kinetic modeling of O2 vibrational Kknetics in O2-Ar mixtures partially dissociated by a Ns pulse discharge

Abstract Vibrational kinetics of O2 is studied during the O atom recombination in an O2-Ar mixture, partially dissociated by a burst of ns discharge pulses in a heated plasma flow reactor. The time-resolved temperature in the discharge afterglow is determined by Rayleigh scattering. Time-resolved O atom number density is measured by ps Two-Photon absorption Laser Induced Fluorescence (TALIF), calibrated in xenon. Time-resolved vibrational level populations of molecular oxygen, O2(v=8-20), are measured by ps Laser Induced Fluorescence (LIF), with the absolute calibration by NO LIF. Time-resolved ozone number density is monitored by broadband UV absorption. The results are compared with the predictions of a state-specific kinetic model. The experimental data indicate a rapid initial decay of O2(v) populations generated by electron impact in the discharge, due to the vibration-translation (V-T) relaxation by O atoms. This is followed by a slower population reduction, on the time scale much longer compared to that for V-T relaxation or vibration-vibration (V-V) exchange. Both O atoms and the O2(v) populations decay on the same time scale, indicating that chemical reactions initiated by the O atom recombination result in the generation of vibrationally excited O2 molecules. These trends are reproduced by the kinetic model, which shows that the reaction of O atoms with ozone is the dominant pathway of O2(v) generation at the present conditions. The predicted relative O2(v) populations are close to the experimental results, but absolute number densities differ from the experimental data. This is likely due to uncertainties in the absolute calibration of LIF measurements and in the spectroscopic model used in the data reduction. The present work demonstrates the capability for the absolute, time-resolved measurements of vibrationally excited O2 in recombining gas flows, to quantify the energy partition in the recombination reactions.

Peran Lembaga Adat Tigo Luhah Semurup dalam Penyelesaian Sengketa Tanah Warisan di Semurup

This research aims to describe the role of the Tigo Luhah Semurup Traditional Institution in resolving inherited land disputes in Semurup, as well as revealing the supporting and inhibiting factors of the Tigo Luhah Semurup Traditional Institution in resolving inherited land disputes in Semurup. The type of research used is qualitative research with descriptive methods. Determining research informants was carried out using a purposive sampling technique, namely informants were determined by researchers to obtain the required information, namely informants who were considered to know, understand and have experience related to this research. Data collection techniques and tools are carried out by means of observation, interviews and documentation. The tools used were observation sheets, interview guides, and cameras. Testing the validity of the data uses source triangulation. Data analysis techniques are data collection, data reduction, data display and drawing conclusions.The results of the research show that the role of the Tigo Luhah Semurup traditional institution in resolving land disputes, it has been very good, this can be seen from the fact that almost all disputes resolved in traditional institutions have been successful, as for the role of the Tigo Luhah Semurup traditional institution as a mediator, facilitator and decision maker. Then there are several factors that hinder the Tigo Luhah Semurup traditional institution in carrying out its role, including; 1) Difficulty in calling/inviting disputing parties to deliberation, 2) Limited budget so that the customary justice process does not run optimally, 3) low commitment from members of traditional institutions in resolving disputes.. However, there are several supporting factors for the Tigo Luhah Semurup traditional institution in carrying out its role, including; 1) the presence of experts and intellectuals in the dispute resolution process, 2) good communication head of traditional institutions, 3) the existence of social legitimacy for the Tigo Luhah Semurup traditional institution.
