A RELIC theory of love: The role of interpersonal, intrapersonal, and extrapersonal elements in love

This article presents a new, RELIC (Real Love In Context) theory of love. The theory contains three subtheories. Two of them constitute an endosystem, or inner system of love. The triangular theory, an interpersonal theory, describes love in term of the intimacy, passion, and commitment one feels toward another person. The theory of love as a story, an intrapersonal theory, describes stories that characterize one’s ideal depiction of what love should and potentially could be. The third, extrapersonal subtheory constitutes an ecosystem, or outer system of love. Drawing on the work of Urie Bronfenbrenner, it describes five hierarchically nested environmental systems (microsystem, mesosystem, exosytem, macrosystem, chronosystem) in which love is embedded and that continually affect the love one feels for another. The forces of the ecosystem act upon the endosystem in ways that can bring couples (or larger groups) together or drive them apart.

A Tribute to My Friend Donna Rockwell

We all have the capacity to love, but the courage to do so must be cultivated! Once in a lifetime, if we are lucky, we meet that someone who has against insurmountable odds mastered the courage to love. One who doesn’t simply talk it but whose very being exudes love. I consider myself of all people most fortunate to have befriended such a one in the person of Donna Rockwell. It is only through developing one’s total personality to the capacity of loving one’s neighbor with “true humility, courage, faith and discipline” that one attains the capacity to experience real love, and this should be considered a rare achievement. My friend, Donna Rockwell accomplished this! This little woman, small in stature yet a giant in the lives of so many, dared to love. And for this, Donna will forever be revered as a power-house in my life and in the field of Existential-Humanistic Psychology.

GENDERED PERSPECTIVES IN SELECTED ZIMDANCEHALL BILINGUAL SONGS: AFRICANA WOMANISM

There is no study which is based on lyrics of songs about a sextape. Hence, the purpose of the study was to understand the gendered perspectives of four Zimbabwe singers towards explicit recording as reflected in the lyrics of their songs. Africana Womanism was deployed as a theory on the relationship between black males and females. The methodology was Critical Discourse Analysis in which purposefully selected artistes’ music lyrics were analysed. D Flexx’s song, “Hombe Yalevels”, “Ane hombe dzinotapira” (Ndunge Yut), “Tsamba kuna Levels” (Lorna Real Love) and Libronie’s “Ane hombe” which were released after the sextape scandal were examined in this study. From the findings, we argue that singers of the four songs failed Shashl as a woman and fellow musician by focusing on DJ Level’s perceived sexual prowess. Public figures ought to consult advisers, managers and veterans in their fields and government departments should partner stakeholders like businesses, brand experts and counsellors to explain the need for maintaining integrity.

CONFLICT OF REALITY AND FANTASTIC FICTION IN THE STORY OF ALEXEY N. TOLSTOY “COUNT CALIOSTRO”

The article examines the story “Count Cagliostro” by Alexei Nikolaevich Tolstoy, completed during the emigration period: based on a real historical fact (the visit to Russia in 1779-1780 of the Italian adventurer Giuseppe Balsamo, who called himself Count Cagliostro), it combines reality with fantastic fiction, and turning to works using a fantastic element is very relevant today. At first glance, the complex vicissitudes of life should have determined the preference of fantasy over reality, but in “Count Cagliostro” fantastic fiction enters into a conflicting relationship with the world of reality, proof of this thesis becomes the purpose of the article. Using problematic, comparative-contrastive, cultural-historical, chronological, and biographical methods, the author solves the goal by comparing “Count Cagliostro” with the story written at the same time – A.N. Tolstoy’s “Nikita’s Childhood” and the previously created poem by A.K. Tolstoy – “Portrait”, a simultaneous comparison of these works has not been previously made and represents the scientific novelty of the presented article. The author comes to the conclusion that in difficult times of moral searches A.N. Tolstoy does not want to hide from life’s problems in the world of a fantasy universe; the conflict between reality and fantastic fiction is resolved in favor of the triumph of real earthly love. This ability to prefer harsh reality to fairy-tale fiction will affect both the subsequent work and the life path of A.N. Tolstoy.

“PUSHKIN FEATURES” IN THE LATE CHEKHOV

The article is devoted to the significance of Pushkin for the late Chekhov. In contrast to the early and mature Chekhov, it is manifested not simply in the use of Pushkin’s images to enrich the writer’s artistic vocabulary. In his later years, Chekhov also correlated his own fate with Pushkin’s and turned to Pushkin to reinterpret classical themes of literature, in particular, the theme of real and imaginary love, outlined by Leo Tolstoy in Anna Karenina.

‘Transference is love’: Love and the logical impossibility of collective life in Lacan and Simmel

This article argues that Freud’s concept of ‘transference-love’ – the phenomenon where patients fall in love with their psychoanalysts – could become the basis for a theory of collective life. Freud’s radical claim that transference-love, despite its immoral appearance, is real love is situated in relation to the problems facing the sociology of romantic love: modern couples are problematised for being unable to provide a normative foundation for not only sexual desire, but social solidarity outright. This article restates the problem: transference is not a lesson in how love resists norms, but how love is resistant to logic. Transference-love arises out of a social condition Georg Simmel called life’s fragmentary character, marked by asymmetries appearing symmetrical: instead of transference being a case where we fall in love with the wrong person, transference is a case where our mistaken apprehensions of others is the precondition for our bonds to them. Viewed through the phenomenon of transference, love illuminates this asymmetrical form of life. It is argued that transference could be understood, sociologically, as demonstrating a logical impossibility to collective life: that a shared life together is possible, but nevertheless relies upon something that evades each of us.

Indonesia is a country rich in culture, natural wealth, race,ethnicity and religion. With this wealth, the symbol of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika was created, which means that even thought we are different, we are still one. With this, educators collaborate in the school enviromment and in the wider community which has many differences in order to anticipate and overcome the widespread intolerance within the republic of Indonesia. The locus of this research was carried out at State Middle School (SMP) Santap 2 Kuala pembuang , aschool located in Jahitan Village, Seruyan Hilir District, Seruyan Regency, Central Kalimantan Province. This is the author’s place toprovide community service. This research activity was carried out using direct observation methods through surveys, interviews and education supported by literature studies, religious tolerance means appreciating, respecting and distinguishing between existing religions. In this regard, Charistian and non-Christian aducators pray to provide lots of education about tolerance so that they become patriotic indivuduals. Christian education plays an important role in making the Indonesian nation a harmonious country like the Lord Jesus taught about loving your neighbors. With real love, people will slowly get to know the person of Jesus, Indonesia is a multicultural country that has very abundant wealth in terms of natural wealth, ethnicity, race and even religion. Departed by making students able to accept the differences that exist in the school environment and the community of the Republic of Indonesia.

Endülüslü İbn Ḥazm ve Çinli Cáo Xuěqín: Çöken Toplumsal Yapılarda Aşk ve Toplumsal Cinsiyet

In this paper, we discuss the opinions of Ibn Ḥazm and Cáo Xuěqín on love, sex and gender. The Ring of the Dove and Dream of the Red Chamber were written when their authors’ respective societies experienced multifaceted crises. Ibn Ḥazm and Cáo Xuěqín were both of noble birth, but the decline of their societies forced them to leave their ranks and look at society in a new light. We discussed their views on the topics of reason and love, ideal and real love, and the nature of love. We observed that Ibn Ḥazm concluded his opinion on love with an ideal but imaginary vision, on the other hand, Cáo Xuěqín came to a more complex and protest conclusion for love in his novel. Finally, we try to demonstrate how and why Ibn Ḥazm and Cáo Xuěqín take steps to critique the patriarchal structure of their collapsing feudal societies, reconceptualize love, and make an early case for gender equality.

Xinyang is located between the Yangtze River and Huai River basins, and is the center of cultural integration between the north and south. Its folk songs have a wide variety and are widely distributed (including Shangcheng County, Xinxian County, Gushi County, Luoshan County, Xi County, Guangshan County, Huangchuan County, and Huaibin County), with Xinyang minor being the most abundant. Xinyang minor tunes are divided into three categories: singing tunes, folk songs, and seasonal tunes. The themes mostly come from the labor and production of the people, customs and habits, real life, love and marriage, etc. Some reflect the tragic life of the lower-class people in the old society, some reflect folk festivals, and some have strong characteristics of the times. The typical melodic composition types based on ‘decorative tone’, ‘variable rhythm’, ‘progressive and triple jump’, and ‘repetitive phrases’ give Xinyang minor unique characteristics.

An Analysis of the Treatment of Love and Sexuality in the Poems of Kamala Das

Kamala Das, a renowned Indian author and poet, has been widely acclaimed for her bold and confessional style of writing. The research article aims to explore the multidimensional portrayal of love and sexuality in her works, juxtaposing them with the social norms and cultural backdrop of postcolonial India. In fact, everything else is secondary and this subject takes center stage. In reference to Kamala Das’ poetry, the term “love” refers to both passions, which her husband and a number of other men were fully and even excessively satisfied, as well as real love, which she never experienced. Her poetry primarily expresses her dissatisfaction with love. The spectrum of her writings is laden with autobiographical elements. In her works, love is depicted not only as an emotion but also as a tool for self-discovery and liberation from the shackles of conventional society. Despite fully meeting her sexual desires, her husband never believed that a woman should expect true love from her spouse, which is why their marriage failed. There were several sexual partners for her, but none of them ever showed her true affection. Kamala Das discusses her unfulfilled love often in her poems, and she repeatedly confesses her longing for love. At this point, Kamala Das admits that love is a strong emotional connection between a man and a woman, and she also thinks that their physical relationship is significant but secondary. The sexuality of a woman is addressed by Kamala Das, who views it as a crucial component of her overall physical and psychological composition. The article further explores how Das’s portrayal of female sexuality acts as a rebellion against the traditional gender roles and societal expectations placed upon Indian women during her time. The intimate and sensual expression in her works is not only a testament to her unique voice but also reflects the underlying themes of self-assertion and search for identity. It brings to light how her exploration of female empowerment through sexual liberation was both groundbreaking and controversial within the context of Indian society. It highlights her as a trailblazer in bringing the discourse on female sexuality into the mainstream and as a proponent of women’s agency in postcolonial Indian literature. The article illuminates the enduring relevance and the multifaceted nature of Das’s writings.

Tale of Female Body: A Critical Study of Taslima Nasreen’s Novels Shodh and French Lover

Violence against women is an age old practice which has now become a major issue of concern in today’s world. It has been witnessed that in any kind of war whether it is civil strife, communal clashes or World Wars women have been the major victims of violence, torture and humiliation. Women have been supposed as caring mothers, faithful wives, loving sisters, defensive angels governed by male domination society. India is a society in which father or eldest male is head of the family and descent is reckoned through the male line and as such become vibrant with male female issues especially in joint families. The themes which preoccupy the mind of the writer in the novels Shodh and French Lover are gender bias which eventually result in revenge. Being herself a victim of the patriarchal structures Taslima Nasreen has seen things very closely that how women are given the role of a subordinate where they cannot, in anyway, assert their right to freedom, right to a healthy life and right to equality. Thus, her novel Shodh is a shattering blow to the hegemonic patriarchal set up where a woman’s fidelity is constantly under the shadow of suspicion and doubt thereby subjecting her to physical and mental anguish and pain. This paper focuses upon the different dimensions of violence and their impact on the female protagonist Jhumur, who eventually takes a stand for establishing her own identity in the patriarchal set up. Nasreen’s next novel French Lover tells the story of the patriarchal control exerted on the protagonist Nilanjana by her father, her husband Kishanlal and the domination of friends and lover. This article on French Lover and Shodh focus on the predominant thematic concerns of Nasreen as a feminist. French Lover and Shodh are her medium to convey her views on various sociological, political issues which encompass not only the fate of any nation but also that of women everywhere. The analysis focuses on the failure of marriage in the case of various individuals, especially all the chief characters. Nasreen may be construed as justifying the frustration of Nila at her shabby treatment by Kishanlal and subsequently abandoning her husband. When Nila speaks on behalf of Nasreen, she justifies her liberated escapades as the result of the lack of real love or affection in her husband’s attitude towards her and his former French wife.

The purpose of this research is to reveal the struggle to reconcile in Nicholas Sparks The Last Song. In conducting this research, the writers use qualitative research because the data are collected in the form of words and quotations from the primary source which is the novel itself The Last Song written by Nicholas Sparks, and secondary sources are related documents such as books, journal, internet browsing, dictionary, and some materials that can support this research. In analyzing the data, the writers use objective approach to get the information about Steve Miller struggle for reconciliation. The result of research shows the struggle of Steve Miller for reconcile the relationship. In addition, in solving the struggle, the writers conclude in Steve struggle that he did several things, namely by following his daughter's wishes, believing in his daughter, and fighting to hide his illness. Steve Miller gets several effects. Steve Miller more aware of the real love of God, being his daughter aware of Steve's Miller affection, his daughter knows the reason for her parents divorce decision, Making his daughter Peace with Self, and finally they can reconcile the relationship. So, in the struggle it is not easy people need to patient and never give up in facing them. Because there is no struggle without challenges, people must disappointment and tears faced it.

Study of Pashto Theosophy and Mysticism in the Mogul Age

The Moguls conquered Khorasan and ruled there for many years. In this situation, enlightened people (Olama), spirituals, mystics, and Sufis recognized that war causes destruction and damage. Therefore, they turned to seclusion. This event increased the aspect of mystical and theosophical literature and created more and more mystical and theosophical phenomena. With respect to the Pashtu language, Theosophy and mysticism were added to its literature in the 7th century and remained till the 12th century. The Indian king, Babur, was well represented in Pashto theosophy and mysticism during the Mogul period. At the time, theosophy and mysticism had social, even religious, aspects that any ordinary person looking for a better sheikh or guru could easily identify. At this time, mysticism found its way and acceptability among Pashtuns, which caused them to create more mystic poems. Among the Cheshtia, Qadiria, Naqshbandia, Kebroia, and Roshania sects, there were considerable gurus (sheikhs) of Pashtuns who rewarded the valuable pieces of mysticism that contained distinct introspection and special attention to the inside of discipleship. Having a sheikh (guru) and using poetic language for declaring sensations and telling stories, standing against cruelty, humanitarianism, and pure and real love, mystics are very popular in Pashtu literature.

Fractional order model for complex Layla and Majnun love story with chaotic behaviour

The main purpose of the present paper is to develop and analyze fractional order dynamical model describing the change in behavior exhibited by a couple in a passionate relationship of love. Model is treated with advanced fractional operators like Atangana-Baleanu Caputo sense, Atanagana-Toufik scheme, and fractal fractional for dynamical behavior of real love story. Its ability is to show constantly changed chaotic behavior of two individuals in the relationship, the model was previously expressed in love triangles. The System is analyzed by using the fixed point theory technique, the existence and uniqueness of system are proved as well as analyzed qualitatively. Also verify the local and global stability of the fractional order system. Numerical simulations are made with the Atanagana-Toufik scheme and fractal fractional operator to measure the emotions and love relationships between two peoples. Advanced approach of such applications opens the path to foresee the love relation after observing the human personality.

Love and Emancipation in Forough Farrokhzad's Selected Poems: A Psycho-analytical Approach

The love relationship between couples can be influenced by several factors influencing it to become a strong one in one’s life or vice versa. Finding a real love is always considered to be the key point in the meeting of opposite sexes. In order not to face psychological problems in the future, everyone’s concern is to seek for the right person. This is true to some degree for many human beings. Real love can make one feel happy and pleased but it can sometimes make one upset and hopeless. Also, superficial love can be the same because it can be the cause of pleasure for the lover who only seeks a temporary relationship i.e., superficial love but similarly it can be the source of sadness for the partner whose intention in such a relationship is a real love. This strenuous power manifests itself in the behavior and sometimes in the appearance of the human beings. When one of the lovers stops his/her love relationship with his/her lover by starting a new relationship with another person, due to their beauty, this will be called superficial love. Such relations may culminate in deceiving and telling lies. This research will consider textual and psychological approaches in the analysis of the selected poems of Forough Farrokhzad to demonstrate real love and superficial love that may cause psychological and social impacts.

Exploration of the Hollowness of the Modern Men in T.S. Eliot’s “The Hollow Men” (1925): An Analytical Approach

T.S. Eliot has reached a stage of maturity in which he confirms the hollowness of the modern men. This realization may be due to his strong religious belief and his personal experience. His religious belief is a mixture of his previous belief and his new religious belief and these have been clear in “The Hollow Men”. Also his personal experience is quite rich as he has lived in the US and moved to England as well as visited Germany and France. Eliot has started the poems with two epigraphs which carry significant meanings and the beginning of the poem is a great stage as it contains the confession of the modern hollow men who act as Mr. Kirtz of The Heart of Darkness . Modern man is empty of spirituality, religion and real love as Eliot presented it in “The Hollow Men”. A textual approached is used along with a historical approach to explore the emptiness and hollowness of the modern man. It was found out that Eliot did not mean to humiliate the hollow men, but he rather praises them for repenting from their sins.
