Rapid Impact Compaction (RIC) is a ground improvement technology which have similarity with dynamic compaction method that most suitable applied to granular soil. The performance of Rapid Impact Compaction on the Airplane Refuelling Station Project Yogyakarta International Airport has been discussed in this paper. Two aspects of RIC performance observed in this are the increasing of shear strength as well as the depth of RIC influence though the changing of Standard Penetration Test (SPT) value. After treatment, the SPT value increase up to 300%, whereas the depth of influence of the Rapid Impact Compaction Method (RIC) is about up to 8 m. Based on the result, the formula can be generated i.e., Y = -0.0114 (X)2 +1.1702 (X) +12.875 where Y is the SPT value after treatment and X is the SPT value before treatment.
