Effect of xanthan gum (XG) and carrageenan (CG) ratio on casein (CA)-XG-CG ternary complex: Used to improve the stability of liquid diabetes formula food for special medical purposes

Poor storage stability limits the application of liquid diabetes formula food for special medical purposes (L-D-FSMP) in maintaining blood sugar stability in diabetic patients. This work aims to improve the stability of L-D-FSMP by adjusting the ratio of xanthan gum (XG) and carrageenan (CG) in casein (CA)-XG-CG ternary complex. The centrifugal sedimentation rate results showed that the compound ratio of XG and CG had a greater impact on L-D-FSMP storage stability. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) results showed that the combination of CA, XG and CG occurred. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) results showed that CA, XG and CG were mainly combined through hydrogen bonds and ionic bonds to form a CA-XG-CG ternary complex. When the ratio of XG and CG was 1:1, the number of disulfide bonds was the largest. The results of three-phase contact angle and emulsifying ability confirmed that when the ratio of XG and CG was 1:1, CA-XG-CG had the strongest emulsifying ability. The particle size distribution and zeta-potential results showed that when the ratio of XG and CG was 1:1, L-D-FSMP had the narrowest particle size distribution range and the strongest stability. These results may provide valuable information for the production of stable L-D-FSMP.

Synthesis, investigation of temperature and salt resistant polyacrylamide microspheres used for deep sealing and profile control and function strengthening mechanism

AbstractBased on the requirements of deep sealing and profile control for the excellent temperature and salt resistance on polyacrylamide microspheres, the Poly‐AM/AMPS was prepared depends on aqueous solution polymerization method to improving oil and gas recovery efficiency in low‐permeability and heterogeneous reservoirs resulted by water channeling. The key technical parameters were established through single‐factor experimental methods, and the chemical structure was studied by infrared spectrum analysis (FTIR), energy spectrum analysis, and x‐ray diffraction analysis, and then the thermal stability was investigated depends on the thermogravimetric (TG) and differential thermogravimetric (DTG) distribution curves, moreover, the particle size and distribution, microstructure, and surface morphology were further studied. As a result, the results confirmed that the molecular structure of Poly‐AM/AMPS meets the expected design, and the quality retention rate at 800°C is 17.4%, the median particle size of Poly‐AM/AMPS particles is 35.88 μm, and the particle size distribution range is about 1.94–497.8 μm. Further, the Poly‐AM/AMPS was modified by maleic anhydride, sodium styrenesulfonate, and dimethyl diallyl ammonium chloride through conventional functional strengthening and modification, modified by nano‐SiO2, GO, and S‐CaCO3 through nano‐functional strengthening and modification. Additionally, the functional strengthening and modification mechanism was studied depends on the FTIR, TG, and DTG methods.

Research on the mechanism of coal wall fragmentation and dust production characteristics in the perspective of differentiated discrete elements

In order to efficiently and accurately control coal dust pollution in coal mining faces, this study addresses the insufficient research on the dust generation mechanism during cutting. Firstly, a similar experimental platform for simulating coal wall cutting with a drum cutter was used to investigate the changes in coal wall fragmentation and dust generation at drum speeds of 35 r/min, 50 r/min, 65 r/min, and 80 r/min. The experimental results revealed that the degree of coal wall fragmentation and dust generation increased with the increase in rotational speed, leading to a wider range of particle size distribution and an increase in the generation of fine dust particles. A 1:1 scale discrete element simulation of coal wall cutting with a drum cutter was conducted based on the experiments. The results indicated that, under the four rotational speeds, the cracks generated during coal wall fracture were predominantly tensile cracks, accounting for over 76% of the total crack count. The total number of cracks increased from 10,600 to 11,200, the number of free single particles increased from 2555 to 2728, and the fragmentation volume increased from 0.021607 to 0.023024 m3. The range and degree of coal wall fragmentation increased with the increase in drum speed.

Influence of trimodal polymerization on melt rheology, thermal, and mechanical properties of HDPE resin

AbstractTrimodal polymerization of polyethylene has become a research interest in recent years due to its excellent potential for altering material properties and overcoming the limitations of the bimodal process. Here, we have comprehensively investigated the effects of manipulating polymerization parameters, such as split value (SV), hydrogen‐to‐ethylene ratio (H2/C2), and stage switching, on the rheological, thermal, and mechanical properties of synthesized trimodal high‐density polyethylene (HDPE). The synthesized samples were obtained through three consecutive stages in a slurry lab‐scale reactor. The results of molten state analysis demonstrate that recipe modification, particularly SV and H2/C2 balancing in the second and third stages, had a dramatic effect on the rheological properties including dynamic moduli, G′‐G″ crossover, and the shear‐thinning behavior. Concurrently, improvements in physio‐mechanical properties, such as sagging behavior and slow crack growth resistance (SCG), were observed compared to the bimodal resin. The thermal characterization indicates that the polymerization adjustments made did not notably impact the thermal properties of HDPE samples (e.g., Tm), throughout the all‐recipe manipulation. However, minor fluctuations in crystallinity and crystallization kinetics were observed which was presumably attributed to the molecular weight of the final resin. Overall, in our trimodal polymerization recipe, the HDPE powder is within the specified range of particle size distribution, which ensures excellent bulk density and flowability.Highlights Influence of polymerization parameters such as split value, H2/C2, and stage switching in properties of trimodal HDPE. HDPE resin received from split value and H2/C2 balancing have superior SCG and sagging resistance. All HDPE samples synthesized by different recipes have similar thermal properties.

Fabrication of new Mn-based MXene structure from MnO2 for electrochemical energy storage applications

MXene compound of Mn7C3 was successfully prepared using combined mechanical, thermal, and leaching processes. A mixture of MnO2, Al, and black C with stoichiometric ratios 3:5:2 was mechanically activated in the ball mill for 5 h. Thermal treatment at 1000 °C was applied to this mixture. Magnetic separation was used to separate Mn3AlC2 from Al2O3. After that, Al was leached from Mn3AlC2 using 15% HF. SEM investigation indicated the formation of Mxene (Mn7C3) particles as aligned sheet-like structure and particle size distribution range of 110–145 nm. The obtained MXene compounds were used as an active material vs. lithium metal and assembled in a coin cell. The electrochemical assessment of this cell was carried out using galvanostatic cycling, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, and cyclic voltammetry techniques. MXene (Mn7C3) cell showed better performance with charge capacity by preserving about 150 mAh g−1 after 100 cycles. The coulombic efficiency of the cell is approaching 99.2% after long cycles.Graphical abstract

Order-disorder transition during shear thickening in bidisperse dense suspensions

Shear thickening of multimodal suspensions has proven difficult to understand because the rheology depends largely on the microscopic details of stress-induced frictional contacts at different particle size distributions (PSDs). Our discrete particle simulations below a critical volume fraction ϕc over a broad range of shear rates and PSDs elucidate the basic mechanism of order–disorder transition. Around the theoretical optimal PSD (relative content of small particles ζ1= 0.26), particles order into a layered structure in the Newtonian regime. At the onset of shear thickening, this layered structure transforms to a disordered one, accompanied by an abrupt viscosity jump. Minor increase in large-large particle contacts after the order–disorder transition causes apparent increase in radial force along the compressional axis. Bidisperse suspensions with less regular but stable layered structure at ζ1= 0.50 show good fluidity in the shear thickening regime. This work shows that in inertial flows where particle collisions dominate, order–disorder transition could play an essential role in shear thickening for bidisperse suspensions.

Powder degradation as a consequence of laser interaction: A study of SS 316L powder reuse on the laser directed energy deposition process

The feedstock capture efficiency on powder laser directed energy deposition (L-DED) is becoming a big challenge in the industrial use of the L-DED process for the manufacturing of large-scale AM parts. The powder capture efficiency is dependent on process optimization and the toolpath. The current literature presents a vast range of usual powder efficiency, between 3% and 32% and in some specific cases exceeding 90%. In L-DED, the powder-gas jet stream interacts with the laser beam adding material locally onto the substrate. Part of this material is captured by the melt pool. The not captured material that is affected by the laser beam suffers degradation. In the literature, there is a lack of studies related to powder reuse in the L-DED process. This paper presents a comprehensive study on the consequence of laser interaction with SS 316L metal powder particles during the L-DED process using a range of different powder characterization techniques to assess the powder morphology, size distribution, chemical composition, followability, and density. The study was conducted within eight powder reuse cycles, without adding virgin material to the powder batch. Reduction of particle size distribution range, increase in circularity, and improvement in the powder flowability were identified as consequences of powder reuse. The result of laser interaction with particles was further explored by scanning electron microscopy, presenting the continuous modification of the particles across the eight reuse cycles. The oxygen content on the particles was also measured to access the O2 pick-up as a consequence of particle heating.

Effect of bead mill dispermat system with specific surfactants on organic pigments

Abstract The study demonstrates the effective application of high-speed dispersion and bead mill dispermat systems in dispersing organic pigments, specifically phthalocyanine blue and green, in water with positive results. Particle size analysis reveals that formulations prepared using a bead mill with the selective surfactants such as Tween-80, SLS, Cocosulphosuccinate (CSPS) and Oleyl sulphosuccinate (OSPS) which exhibits a narrower range of particle size distribution compared to those prepared using high-speed dispersion (HSD). Phthalocyanine blue pigment concentrate formulation, the bead mill preparation using Tween-80 and CSPS surfactants resulted in a higher viscosity and color strength compared to HSD. In addition, the phthalocyanine green pigment concentrate formulation prepared using a bead mill with SLS surfactant showed higher color strength than the formulation prepared using HSD with SLS surfactant. Moreover, the comparative study reported the Nano CaCO3 pigment concentrate formulation prepared using a bead mill with SLS surfactant displayed a narrow range of particle size distribution ranging from 0.31 to 0.56 nm, with an average particle size of 0.435 nm, compared to the formulation prepared using HSD. All these findings suggested bead mill dispermat system with specific surfactants can produce pigment dispersions with a narrower particle size distribution, higher color strength, and better viscosity compared to HSD which demonstrating its potential as a more efficient and effective method for pigment dispersion.

Experimental investigation on the impact of air flow rates and back pressures on kerosene microscopic spray characteristics discharged from an air-assisted pressure-swirl atomizer

The air-assisted pressure swirl atomizer has attracted considerable interest owing to its exceptional capacity to generate fine droplets and precisely regulate spray characteristics. The primary objective of the study was to investigate the impact of auxiliary air flow rate, orifice diameter, and ambient back pressure on the kerosene spray cone angle, droplet size and distribution. The results indicate that employing a nozzle with a smaller orifice size leads to a larger spray cone angle. The spray cone angles of the other two orifice sizes exhibit an increasing trend as the auxiliary air flow rate increases. Also, increasing the auxiliary air flow rate effectively reduces the Sauter Mean Diameter (SMD). Additionally, as the auxiliary air flow rate gradually increases, the peak of the particle size distribution shifts towards smaller diameters. Furthermore, as the environmental back pressure increases, there is a noticeable decrease in the SMD. With an increase in ambient backpressure, there is a consistent shift of the peak particle size towards smaller diameters. At an elevated ambient pressure of 1.4 MPa, an increase in the axial distance from the nozzle results in a decrease in the volume percentage of the peak diameter, while simultaneously causing the particle size distribution range to broaden.

Preparation of ultrafine PVP-BiO2-x by mechanochemistry modification for enhanced photocatalytic activity

This study reports the preparation of ultrafine PVP-BiO2-x nanomaterials through ball milling modification, with a particle size distribution range of 5–10 nm. During ball milling, PVP played a protective role in BiO2-x oxygen-deficient materials, reducing the oxidation rate of BiO2-x during mechanical crushing and allowing BiO2-x to exhibit good dispersibility in water. The ultra-small particle size of PVP-BiO2-x enhances its absorption capacity in the visible light spectrum, thereby improving its performance in photocurrent testing. Compared with bulk BiO2-x, PVP-BiO2-x exhibits enhanced photocatalytic performence for rhodamine B and methyl orange under visible light irradiation. This study successfully prepared ultra-small spherical PVP-BiO2-x, showcasing its photocatalytic principles and providing valuable insights into mitigating oxidation challenges in the large-scale fabrication of BiO2-x nanomaterials.

Impact of Ca2+, Ce3+ codoping on ZnSnO3-SnO2 heterostructure for dielectric, optoelectronic and solar cell applications

We have successfully prepared a new mixed oxide system of Sn-rich ZTO (ZnSn2O5). The impact of coupling Ca2+ and Ce3+ inside the lattice of ZnSn2O5 on the dielectric, optical, and photoelectric conduction properties was investigated. In this regard, the co-precipitation technique was used to prepare three samples of ZTO, Ca-ZTO, and Ca/Ce-ZTO. The samples have been investigated by X-ray diffractometer (XRD), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM), X-ray photoelectron spectrophotometer (XPS), and an energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer (EDS). The XRD pattern detected phases that highly interfere as a heterostructured compound. The pristine ZTO particles demonstrate a mixture of two morphologies, hexagonal and quasi-spherical shapes, with particle size distributions of 0.25–1.5 µm, resulting in significant porosity between these particles. Meanwhile, the particles of Ca/Ce-doped ZTO have a homogenous morphology as spherical shape and exhibit larger density, particle size distribution range of 1–2 µm. The dielectric constant as a function of frequency or wavelength is increased with the applied temperature (32 to 140 °C) for both pure and Ca/Ce-ZTO samples. Clearly, Ca/Ce-ZTO displays higher absorption in visible light and the estimated band gaps of ZTO, Ca-ZTO, and Ca/Ce-ZTO are equal to 1.58,1.56 and 1.48 eV, respectively. The pristine ZTO showed a stronger n-type effect than Ca and Ca/Ce-doped ZTO samples. The shift from n-type to being close to N-P junction by multiple doping induces the application of these heterostructured materials as buffering layers in energy conversion applications like thin film solar cells and light emitting diodes.

Applying S(IV)-Fe(II) binary activation of permanganate as ultrafiltration pretreatment for fouling mitigation: Performance, influencing factors, and mechanism

The widespread implementation of ultrafiltration (UF) technology, which has gained popularity for drinking water treatment, has been impeded by rising operational costs and shortened membrane lifespans resulting from membrane fouling. Here, an integrated pretreatment technique combining oxidation, adsorption, and coagulation was developed using the S(IV)–Fe(II) binary activated permanganate (PM) system, S(IV)–Fe(II)/PM. The efficacy of S(IV)–Fe(II)/PM pretreatment in mitigating UF membrane fouling was investigated for various raw water sources, including lakes, rivers, and seawater. The operational parameters of S(IV)–Fe(II)/PM pretreatment were optimized, and the underlying mechanisms for fouling alleviation were explored. Relative to conventional pretreatment methods, S(IV)–Fe(II)/PM pretreatment reduced reversible fouling-induced resistance by 13%–92% and irreversible fouling-induced resistance by 11%–86%. The S(IV)–Fe(II)/PM system exhibited optimal mitigation of membrane fouling at a PM:S(IV):Fe(II) dosage ratio of 2:3:3, with Grapid × Trapid = 45948, Gslow × Tslow = 12480, and a settling time of 30 min (where G is the velocity gradient and T is contact time). The effectiveness of S(IV)–Fe(II)/PM pretreatment in controlling UF membrane fouling can be attributed to the following mechanisms: 1) modification of feed water quality in terms of organic compound characteristics and concentration, colloidal particle quantity and size distribution, and microbial activity and quantity; and 2) adjustment of the membrane surface deposition environment, resulting in reduced polysaccharide and protein content, particle size distribution range, and biomass, as well as alterations in physicochemical properties such as hydrophilicity and interfacial free energy. This study highlights the efficacy of S(IV)–Fe(II)/PM pretreatment in ensuring high-quality UF effluent while effectively reducing membrane fouling, especially its potential for alleviating irreversible membrane fouling.

Synthetic modelling of railway trackbed for improved understanding of ground penetrating radar responses due to varying conditions

AbstractGround penetrating radar (GPR) is a commonly used tool for railway trackbed inspection due to its ability to collect information about subsurface materials at high resolution and high speed. Although GPR recording systems allow for the collection of vast quantities of data (hundreds of kilometres per day), accurate ground truth information is difficult to obtain. Models of trackbed can be used to generate synthetic radargrams to provide a better understanding and predictability of GPR responses to a wide range of trackbed conditions. In this research, we produced models of ballast using randomly shaped 3D particles, with a range of particle size distributions to represent various stages of ballast breakdown. Additionally, void spaces are partially filled with a constant dielectric material to represent ballast contamination. We used gprMax to simulate the GPR response for a 2 GHz horn antenna over the trackbed models. These simulations resulted in radargrams that are visually indistinct from real recorded data in known conditions. These radargrams, along with their formative models, have provided valuable insights into how variations in trackbed conditions can impact GPR data.

Effect of Capsaicin and Dihydrocapsaicin in Capsicum on Myofibrillar Protein in Duck Meat.

Spice and its extracts have gained widespread utilization as natural and eco-friendly additives, imparting enhancements in flavor, color, and antioxidative attributes to meat-based products. This work aims to study the effect mechanism of capsaicin (CA) and dihydrocapsaicin (DI) in capsicum (chili pepper) on the structure and function of myofibrillar proteins (MPs) in duck meat during thermal treatment. The results showed that at a CA-DI to MP ratio of 1:500 (g/g) following a 12 min heat treatment, the carbonyl content of MPs in duck meat decreased by 48.30%, and the sulfhydryl content increased by 53.42%. When the concentration was 1:500 (CA-DI, g/g) after 24 min of heat treatment, the •OH and DPPH radical scavenging rates were highest at 59.5% and 94.0%, respectively. And the initial denaturation temperature of MPs was the highest at 96.62 °C, and the thermal absorption was lowest at 200.24 J g-1. At the parameter, the smallest particle size and size distribution range of MP were 190 nm (9.51%). Furthermore, the interplay between CA-DI and MPs contributed to a reduction in the protein particle size and intrinsic fluorescence. In summary, the combination of CA-DI and MPs played a crucial role in inducing protein unfolding and disintegration.

An all-encompassing study on the joint effect of powder feedstock characteristics and manufacturing process parameters on the densification and mechanical properties of additively manufactured nickel alloy 718

Laser-powder bed fusion (L-PBF) is a commonly employed additive manufacturing (AM) technique in manufacturing 3D metallic parts with complex geometries from powder materials. It is a complex process with more than 100 process parameters affecting the properties of fabricated parts. Studies on AM of nickel alloy 718 are currently focusing on investigating the effect of the process parameters and heat treatment on final part properties. Nevertheless, the effect of different powder characteristics such as particle size distribution (PSD), the presence of fine particles, powder reuse, and moisture content has not been studied comprehensively in the literature. In this study, two types of powder: virgin and recycled, as well as four parameters: PSD, which is represented by the median particle size and the particle size range, moisture content, and volumetric energy density (VED), were studied. To reduce experimental cost and burden, statistical design of experiment (DOE) techniques were utilized. Then, the measured results were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) to ascertain the effect of the different powder characteristics on multiple quantities of interest (QoIs). Different densification and mechanical tests were performed, and their outputs were studied as the QoIs. This study revealed that VED, powder type, PSD range, and median are the most common significant factors for most QoIs. Meanwhile, moisture content had a significant effect only on the Charpy impact energy. Besides, the study showed that the presence of fine particles <20μm improved the densification of the fabricated parts but reduced the mechanical properties.

Arctic Cloud‐Base Ice Precipitation Properties Retrieved Using Bayesian Inference

AbstractCloud‐climate feedbacks are still the greatest source of uncertainty in current climate projections. Arctic clouds, which are predominantly stratiform and supercooled, often long‐lived, and nearly continuously precipitate ice particles, contribute roughly 10% of the uncertainty attributed to the global cloud feedback. This Arctic cloud uncertainty is driven by incomplete observational and theoretical knowledge required to estimate and explain the state and active processes occurring in those clouds. A focus on ice precipitation properties at Arctic cloud base rather than the surface deconfounds the product of cloud condensate sink processes from the influence of the atmospheric thermodynamic state below cloud base, rendering cloud‐base properties a more appealing target for inference and evaluation of model simulations. Here I describe an inverse model for the estimation of cloud base ice precipitation properties over Utqiagvik, North Slope of Alaska, using the synthesis of ground‐based radar and lidar measurements. By leveraging a Markov Chain Monte Carlo algorithm as the core of the inverse model, a wide range of particle size distributions are sampled, and different combinations of ice habit models are examined, both of which are typically fixed in other retrieval methods. Results show intriguing links between different cloud base thermodynamic and ice precipitation properties. Apparent ice number concentration enhancements at temperatures of −5 and −15°C suggest possible secondary ice production (SIP). The analysis alludes to an overestimation of SIP occurrence and intensity, especially in studies relying only on radar or lidar measurements. Finally, reflectivity‐dependent ice precipitation rate and ice water content parameterizations are presented.

Ultrasonic-assisted-microwave quick synthesis of Pd nanoparticles on N-doped porous carbon for efficient direct hydrogen peroxide synthesis from hydrogen and oxygen at atmospheric pressure

Directly synthesizing H2O2 from H2 and O2 at atmospheric pressure requires a highly efficient Pd catalyst, which poses a challenge for reasonable design and simple synthesis of Pd catalyst. In this study, a series of Pd/NPCS catalysts were synthesized by various methods with mono-disperse, uniform-size and N-doped porous carbon sphere named NPCS as the support and PdCl2 as the palladium precursor. The results indicated that the ultrasonic-assisted-microwave quick synthesis method significantly reduced the synthesis time of Pd catalyst. The Pd nanoparticles obtained via this method were well-distributed on the NPCS support, with a smaller particle size, a narrower particle size distribution range, and more exposed Pd active sites, which leading to improved H2O2 generation rate compared to traditional preparation methods. Additionally, N-doped, high specific surface area, and abundant mixed micro-mesoporous pore structure of NPCS support improved the transfer and diffusion performance of Pd/NPCS catalysts, facilitating the adsorption of reactants and desorption of H2O2 from Pd active sites, and effectively inhibited hydrogenation and decomposition side reactions caused by the breaking of the O-O bond. The ultrasonic-assisted-microwave quick synthesis method and excellent NPCS support synergistically improved the catalytic activity and stability of Pd/NPCS catalyst. These findings provide insight into the design and preparation of efficient Pd catalysts for directly synthesizing H2O2 at atmospheric pressure.

Analysis of the Emulsifying Capacity of Low Methyl-Esterified Citrus Pectin in the Presence of Calcium Cations from Its Aggregates: Micelles

In this study, pectin was considered a soft matter, and the emulsification of low methyl-esterified citrus pectin (LMCP) was analyzed in the presence of calcium cations (Ca2+). The formulation of LMCP aggregates was called micelles, and they could be regarded as granular emulsifiers. The size and morphology of LMCP micelles were affected by the concentration of Ca2+, and this changed the emulsifying properties of LMCP. The particle size distribution range in LMCP solutions was first decreased and then increased with increasing Ca2+ concentrations from 0.00 to 10.00 mM. The concentration of Ca2+ affected the creaming index (CI) of emulsions and the size distribution of the emulsion droplets significantly. Tiny particles and cavities being detected on the oil droplet surface in cryo-scanning electron microscopy (SEM) micrographs illustrated that the stable emulsion could be considered a Pickering emulsion when different concentrations of Ca2+ were brought into the LMCP solution for the preparation of the emulsion.

Rubber particle bridging effect on crack width control of low carbon Engineered Cementitious Composites (ECC)

Engineered Cementitious Composites (ECC) exhibit high tensile ductility and multiple cracking behaviors. The weak bonding between hydrophobic fiber and matrix tends to enlarge the crack width of ECC. This paper investigated recycled crumb rubber (CR) to tailor the crack width control of ECC as an artificial flaw. The experimental results show that CR can enhance the multiple cracking and reduce the crack width of ECC, which can be attributed to the CR weakened matrix and particle bridging effect. Micro-CT scanning revealed how CR influences the initiation and propagation of microcracks qualitatively. A constitutive model of CR particle bridging was developed to evaluate the quantitative contribution of CR particle bridging to the crack width reduction of ECC. Although the effect of bridging on crack width reduction is not as strong as that of the weakened matrix, the combined effect is consistent with the experimental magnitude of crack width reduction. Further parametric analysis indicates that small particle size, higher content, and narrower size distribution range of CR are preferred for better crack width control of ECC. The insights gained provide guidance on ECC composite design for a tight crack width with better durability properties.

Sol-Gel Synthesis and Optical Characterization of Zno Nanoparticles

The zinc oxide nanoparticles were synthesized to investigate the ultraviolet light absorbance and transmittance for applications of UV protection. Zinc oxide nanoparticles were characterized by photon cross-correlation and ultra-violet spectrophotometers. The results show that the synthesized zinc oxide nanoparticles have the mean diameter of ~35 nm of main particles with particle size distribution range from ~11 nm to ~80 nm.The use of synthesized nanoparticles achieved transmission levels of over 95 % in the UVA regions at the wavelength range of 320-400 nm.
