무인 자동화 KRTCS의 상호운영성 성능 적합성 분석

영업선의 열차제어시스템은 각각의 노선별로 선정된 제작사에서 개발된 고유의 기술이 적용됨으로서 노선의 확장, 개량 또는 변경시 적용될 기술의 선택은 호환성을 고려하여 대부분 동일한 제작사에서 공급하는 독점 기술에 의존한다. 이를 해결하기 위해 유럽열차제어시스템(ETCS : European TRain control System)은 상호운영성의 개념을 도입하였고, 관련 연구는 현재 Baseline 3까지 확대되어 다양한 검토가 진행되고 있다. 국내에서 개발된 한국형무선통신기반 열차제어시스템(KRTCS : Korean Radio based Train control System)에서도 이러한 문제점 해결을 위해 개발 초기부터 상호운영성을 고려한 열차제어시스템 프로토콜의 표준화를 추진하였다. 본 논문은 열차제어시스템의 상호운영성과 국내의 도시철도용 KRTCS에 적용된 상호운영성을 비교, 분석하였다. 이를 기반으로 한국철도공사의 대불선 영업선에서 실시된 무인 자동화 KRTCS의 상호운영성 성능 검증시험에 대한 적합성을 검토하였다.

무선통신기반 열차제어시스템의 사이버 보안 취약점 분석 및 대응 기술에 관한 연구

열차제어시스템은 철도의 안전한 운행과 효율적인 운영을 위한 무선통신을 기반으로 열차제어 메시지를 전송한다. 이러한 무선통신기반 열차제어시스템은 무선통신을 통해 바이탈 정보가 전송되므로, 무선통신의 보안 위협 또는 공격을 통해 전송되는 데이터의 무결성이 확보되지 못한다면 안전에 치명적인 문제점이 발생되며 이는 곧 대형 사고로 이어질 수 있다. 또한, 열차제어시스템이 네트워크화 되면서 메시지 위변조, 해킹 등 사이버 보안 위협에 대한 잠재적인 문제가 존재하며, 이에 대한 방어 대책 역시 반드시 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 무선통신기반 열차제어시스템의 사이버 보안 위협을 분석하고, 열차제어시스템의 보안성을 확보하기 위한 인증 및 전자서명, 암복호화, 방화벽 기능을 포함하는 보안장치를 제안한다.

A cost-effective wireless network migration planning method supporting high-security enabled railway data communication systems

As a typical railway Cyber-physical System (CPS), radio-based train control systems have been playing an increasingly important role in rail transit. The engaged network, Global System for Mobile Communications for Railway (GSM-R), which is an out-dated wireless communication technology, will be decommissioned due to diminishing support from industry, and a new generation successor, e.g. Long-Term Evolution (LTE), is urgently required to replace the current network. The radio-based train control systems must be safety critical, which relies on a high-security Data Communication System (DCS). In this paper, a novel wireless network migration methodology in DCS is proposed. By using this methodology, the high-security required DCS performance in radio-based train control systems is maintained and the network migration cost, e.g. the used number of base station (BS), is reduced when updating the GSM-R to LTE.

A Feasibility Study on TETRA System Application for Train Control Systems

TETRA communication system is very versatile system which can transmit voice + data and packet data optimized. Direct mode operation permits to connect between mobiles when mobile stain is out of coverage of networks. It can be more secure communication channel for railway signaling systems. Railway signaling systems use many of wayside signal equipment, which require many maintenance efforts and budget. Many railway authorities want to reduce and replace the wayside equipment. Radio based signaling systems are one of candidate for replacing the conventional signaling systems. The radio based signaling systems can replace track circuit and wayside signal. The radio systems permit to connect between control centers and trains. The radio systems have to ensure high quality of the connectivity more or equal to the existed track circuits. We studied the application of TETRA systems for railway radio systems for bridging between train control centers and trains. We provide an operation scenario for radio based train control system to ensure the safety require to the existed trains control system and satisfied the existed operational availability. We showed the data transmission speed, maximum bit error rate, and data coding for the radio-based signal system using TETRA systems.

A TCS(Train Control System) is the core facility to ensure the safety and efficiency of train operations, it is difficult to have interoperability between the TCS suppliers. To ensure the interoperability between TCSs, there is a need for definition, validation and standardization on the system configuration, the functions of subsystems, the interface between subsystems an the system protocol. In this paper, we analyzed the completeness of the KRTCS(Korean Radio based Train Control System) specification, derived supplements what you need to apply the KRTCS specification to new urban lines.

<b>Application of Simulation Technologies in the Transport Information Field</b>

This paper outlines the application of simulation technologies to train operation and signaling systems. It describes the background and the development of simulators in each field. It also describes difficulties encountered with conventional simulators and recent developments aimed at resolving them. The new simulator can reflect interactions between passenger behavior, train movement and the conditions of signaling systems, to obtain more precise simulation results. Finally, it presents a combined technology using the new simulator and the communication network simulator for radio-based train control systems, and its application in the future.

무선통신기반 열차제어시스템에서의 운전시격 계산과 간격제어 성능개선을 위한 열차간격제어 알고리즘

Radio based train control system performs train safe interval control by receiving in realtime the position information of trains driving in the control area of the wayside system and providing onboard system in each train with updated movement authority. The performance of the train control system is evaluated to calculate the minimum operation headway, which reflects the operation characteristics and the characteristics of the train as well as the interval control performance of the train control system. In this paper, we propose the operation headway calculation for radio based train control system and a new train interval control algorithm to improve the operation headway. The proposed headway calculation defines line headway and station headway by the estimation the safety margin distance reflecting the performance of the train control system. Furthermore the proposed Enhanced Train Interval Control(ETIC) algorithm defines a new movement authority including both distance and speed, and improves the train operation headway by using braking distance occurring inevitably in the preceding train. The proposed operation headway calculation is simulated with Korean Radio-based Train Control System(KRTCS) and the simulated result is compared to improved train interval control algorithm. According to the simulated results, the proposed operation headway calculation can be used as performance indicator for radio based train control system, and the improved train control algorithm can improve the line and station headway of the conventional radio based train control system.

무선통신기반 열차간격제어를 위한 전처리 기반 속도프로파일 계산 알고리즘

Radio-based train control system has driving headway shortening effect by real-time train interval control using two-way radio communication between onboard and wayside systems, and reduces facility investment because it does not require any track-circuit. Automatic train protection(ATP), the most significant part of the radio-based train control system, makes sure a safe distance between preceding and following trains, based on real-time train location tracing. In this paper, we propose the overall ATP train interval control algorithm to control the safe interval between trains, and preprocessing-based speed profile calculation algorithm to improve the processing speed of the ATP. The proposed speed profile calculation algorithm calculates the permanent speed limit for track and train in advance and uses as the most restrictive speed profile. If the temporary speed limit is generated for a particular track section, it reflects the temporary speed limit to pre-calculated speed profile and improves calculation performance by updating the speed profile for the corresponding track section. To evaluate the performance of the proposed speed profile calculation algorithm, we analyze the proposed algorithm with O-notation and we can find that it is possible to improve the time complexity than the existing one. To verify the proposed ATP train interval control algorithm, we build the train interval control simulator. The experimental results show the safe train interval control is carried out in a variety of operating conditions.

無線式列車制御システムにおける基地局配置問題

In this paper, we study a design method for minimizing the cost of placement of wireless base stations used for radio based train control systems. First, we present the problem that is to determine the number of wireless base stations and their placement locations under several constrained conditions relevant to stability railroad transportation. Second, we formulate this problem, and to solve this problem, we propose a heuristic algorithm. Finally, we verify the effectiveness of our algorithm through computational experiments.

<b>Performance Evaluation System of Communication Network for Train Control System Using Radio Communication</b>

This paper describes the development of a method to evaluate the performance of communication networks, in order to improve the efficiency of their design for radio-based train control systems. This method makes it possible to estimate the possible influence on operations of a new communication system, while avoiding the time and cost of conducting tests on actual lines. So the system development size and cost for not only a design stage, but also a prototype and an experiment can be reduced. In this paper, the author presents an outline of the performance evaluation system, and show examples of performance evaluation of a communication network.

Performance Evaluation of Radio-based Train Control System

This paper analyzes the efficacy of new radio-based train control systems as opposed to systems using a previous architecture. Some of the features of this newer infrastructure include train control with a radio communication system, network-based train control with a broad range of geographical control, and high-speed train control in real-time. Researchers analyzed the effects these new systems developments had on the control mechanism using simulation experiments. The simulator used is an event-driven type that has two schedulers using separate databases for time and position. The computer then determines whether the new architecture has adequately anticipated train movement and scheduling. Researchers found that newer systems’ utilization of radio, networks, and real-time technologies provided superior safety in relation to more antiquated systems.
