Efforts must always be made to improve students' reading abilities in elementary school students, especially as reading, which is part of literacy, is very poor, especially for elementary school students. The quantum reading method is an ideal method to be implemented in elementary schools so that students can continue to increase their interest in reading. The research aims to examine the application of the quantum reading method in elementary schools, both in essence and in theoretical-based applications.This research is based on facts in the field, namely students' low interest in reading, no initiative to read books, lack of reading activities, and unsupportive library facilities. So students often experience difficulties in learning to read, especially in speed reading. So the author took the initiative to describe the analysis of learning difficulties in learning to read quickly for fifth grade elementary school students along with the solutions offered using the quantum reading method.The formulation of the problem in this research is how to increase students' reading interest who use the quantum Reading method and conventional reading methods in Indonesian language subjects in Grade V Elementary Schools. This research aims to determine the increase in reading interest of students who use the quantum reading method and conventional methods in schools. Base.

Quantum-optimal information encoding using noisy passive linear optics

The amount of information that a noisy channel can transmit has been one of the primary subjects of interest in information theory. In this work we consider a practically-motivated family of optical quantum channels that can be implemented without an external energy source. We optimize the Holevo information over procedures that encode information in attenuations and phase-shifts applied by these channels on a resource state of finite energy. It is shown that for any given input state and environment temperature, the maximum Holevo information can be achieved by an encoding procedure that uniformly distributes the channel's phase-shift parameter. Moreover for large families of input states, any maximizing encoding scheme has a finite number of channel attenuation values, simplifying the codewords to a finite number of rings around the origin in the output phase space. The above results and numerical evidence suggests that this property holds for all resource states. Our results are directly applicable to the quantum reading of an optical memory in the presence of environmental thermal noise.

Quantum reading of quantum information

We extend the notion of quantum reading to the case where the information to be retrieved, which is encoded into a set of quantum channels, is of quantum nature. We use two-qubit unitaries describing the system-environment interaction, with the initial environment state determining the system’s input-output channel and hence the encoded information. The performance of the most relevant two-qubit unitaries is determined with two different approaches: (i) one-shot quantum capacity of the channel arising between environment and system’s output; (ii) estimation of parameters characterizing the initial quantum state of the environment. The obtained results are mostly in (qualitative) agreement, with some distinguishing features that include the CNOT unitary.

This study aims to describe the effectiveness of using the Quantum Reading on the reading comprehension ability of sixth grade elementary school students. The results showed that the use of the Quantum Reading on students' reading comprehension skills was positive, students' reading comprehension skills using the Quantum Reading method showed better learning outcomes than before using the Quantum Reading. The results of inferential statistical analysis using the t test formula, it is known that thecalculated obtained is 7.3 with a frequency of dk = 26-1 = 25, at a significance level of 5% obtained ttable = 2.05. So, tcount > ttable or the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted. This proves that the use of the Quantum Reading effective on the reading comprehension ability of Grade VI elementary school students

Gaussian quantum estimation of the loss parameter in a thermal environment

Lossy bosonic channels play an important role in a number of quantum information tasks, since they well approximate thermal dissipation in an experiment. Here, we characterize their metrological power in the idler-free and entanglement-assisted cases, using respectively single- and two-mode Gaussian states as probes. In the problem of estimating the loss parameter, we study the power-constrained quantum Fisher information (QFI) for generic temperature and loss parameter regimes, showing qualitative behaviours of the optimal probes. We show semi-analytically that the two-mode squeezed-vacuum state optimizes the QFI for any value of the loss parameter and temperature. We discuss the optimization of the total QFI, where the number of probes is allowed to vary by keeping the total power constrained. In this context, we elucidate the role of the ‘shadow-effect’, or passive signature, for reaching a quantum advantage. Finally, we discuss the implications of our results for the quantum illumination and quantum reading protocols.

Entangled observers? A quantum perspective on authority in critical security studies

ABSTRACT The conventional author-driven summary of the Stern–Gerlach experiment omits the fact that their famous measurements only appeared when the smoke of a poor graduate student’s cheap cigar produced a reaction with the silver atoms. Indeed, this crucial experiment in the history of quantum physics would have been impossible if not for the fortuitous intersection of behavioural norms for white male elite – cigar smoking at the laboratory bench – and the material conditions of the junior scientist – a socioeconomic status that left him unable to afford higher-quality cigars. While the simplistic narrative of authorship may conveniently reduce this experiment to Stern and Gerlach, a quantum reading of this quantum experiment reveals the ontological entanglement of identity, materiality, social norms and the experimental apparatus itself with the authors – and, just with other entangled phenomena, our apparently simple description is woefully incomplete without acknowledging its entangled reality. Intervening into a decades-long debate on the nature of authorship, observation and rigour in critical security studies, I argue that the quantum model of ontologically entangled observation offers a powerful model for problematising authority in critical security studies .

Polar Codes for Quantum Reading

Quantum readout provides a general framework for formulating statistical discrimination of quantum channels. Several paths have been taken for such this problem. However, there is much to be done in the avenue of optimizing channel discrimination using classical codes. At least two open questions can be pointed out: how to construct low complexity encoding schemes that are interesting for channel discrimination and, more importantly, how to develop capacity-achieving protocols. This paper aims at presenting a solution to these questions using polar codes. Firstly, we characterize the information rate and reliability parameter of the channels under polar encoding. We also show that the error probability of the scheme proposed decays exponentially with the square root of the code length. Secondly, an analysis of the optimal quantum states to be used as probes is given.

Universal topological quantum computation with strongly correlated Majorana edge modes

Majorana-based quantum gates are not complete for performing universal topological quantum computation while Fibonacci-based gates are difficult to be realized electronically and hardly coincide with the conventional quantum circuit models. In reference Hu and Kane (2018 Phys. Rev. Lett. 120 066801), it has been shown that a strongly correlated Majorana edge mode in a chiral topological superconductor can be decomposed into a Fibonacci anyon τ and a thermal operator anyon ɛ in the tricritical Ising model. The deconfinement of τ and ɛ via the interaction between the fermion modes yields the anyon collisions and gives the braiding of either τ or ɛ. With these braidings, the complete members of a set of universal gates, the Pauli gates, the Hadamard gate and extra phase gates for one-qubit as well as controlled-NOT (CNOT) gate for two-qubits, are topologically assembled. Encoding quantum information and reading out the computation results can be carried out through electric signals. With the sparse-dense mixed encodings, we set up the quantum circuit where the CNOT gate turns out to be a probabilistic gate and design the corresponding devices with thin films of the chiral topological superconductor. As an example of the universal topological quantum computing, we show the application to Shor’s integer factorization algorithm.

Quantum Readout of Imperfect Classical Data.

The encoding of classical data in a physical support can be done up to some level of accuracy due to errors and the imperfection of the writing process. Moreover, some degradation of the stored data can happen over time because of physical or chemical instability of the system. Any readout strategy should take into account this natural degree of uncertainty and minimize its effect. An example are optical digital memories, where the information is encoded in two values of reflectance of a collection of cells. Quantum reading using entanglement, has been shown to enhances the readout of an ideal optical memory, where the two level are perfectly characterized. In this work, we analyse the case of imperfect construction of the memory and propose an optimized quantum sensing protocol to maximize the readout accuracy in presence of imprecise writing. The proposed strategy is feasible with current technology and is relatively robust to detection and optical losses. Beside optical memories, this work have implications for identification of pattern in biological system, in spectrophotometry, and whenever the information can be extracted from a transmission/reflection optical measurement.

PENGEMBANGAN MODEL QUANTUM READING YANG BERORIENTASI SELF REGULATED LEARNING (SRL) DALAM PEMBELAJARAN MEMBACA PEMAHAMAN

Reading is a skill that must be possessed by students. Ideally, every student has adequate reading skills according to their level of education. This is because in daily activities at school, all learning activities cannot be separated from reading skills. However, in reality, many students do not have adequate reading skills, both reading comprehension and creative reading. The learning model cannot be separated from the success of a lesson. The aims of this study were (1) to determine the condition of the reading comprehension learning model in SMP Negeri 1 Purbalingga; (2) to know how the profile of the Quantum Reading model is; (3) to determine the effectiveness of the Quantum Reading Oriented Self-Regulated Learning (SRL) learning model in learning reading comprehension. The research method used is the development method with the stages of preliminary studies, literature studies, and field surveys; limited model development phase and expanded trial; the model validation stage is in the form of an experiment. The research results obtained are (1) the conditions for using learning models in reading comprehension at SMP Negeri 1 Purbalingga before the research was carried out using quantum reading, only using the direct method and assignments; (2) Quantum Reading learning is considered effective in improving students' reading comprehension skills at SMP Negeri 1 Purbalingga (3) with Self-Regulated Learning (SRL) orientation, students understand reading better, as a basis for carrying out the teaching and learning process in any subject.

Quantum channel-position finding using single photons

Channel-position finding is the task of determining the location of a single target channel among an ensemble of background channels. It has many potential applications, including quantum sensing, quantum reading, and quantum spectroscopy. In particular, it could allow for simple detection protocols to be extended to ones of measurement, for example, target ranging with quantum illumination. The use of quantum states and entanglement in such protocols has shown to yield quantum advantages over their optimal classical counterparts. Here we consider quantum channel-position finding using sources specified by at most one single photon on average per mode, using the discrete-variable formalism. By considering various quantum sources, it is shown through the derivation of performance bounds that a quantum enhancement may be realized.

Error Probability Mitigation in Quantum Reading Using Classical Codes.

A general framework describing the statistical discrimination of an ensemble of quantum channels is given by the name quantum reading. Several tools can be applied in quantum reading to reduce the error probability in distinguishing the ensemble of channels. Classical and quantum codes can be envisioned for this goal. The aim of this paper is to present a simple but fruitful protocol for this task using classical error-correcting codes. Three families of codes are considered: Reed–Solomon codes, BCH codes, and Reed–Muller codes. In conjunction with the use of codes, we also analyze the role of the receiver. In particular, heterodyne and Dolinar receivers are taken into consideration. The encoding and measurement schemes are connected by the probing step. As probes, we consider coherent states. In such a simple manner, interesting results are obtained. As we show, there is a threshold below which using codes surpass optimal and sophisticated schemes for any fixed rate and code. BCH codes in conjunction with Dolinar receiver turn out to be the optimal strategy for error mitigation in quantum reading.

Optimal squeezing for quantum target detection

It is not clear if the performance of a quantum lidar or radar, without an idler and only using Gaussian resources, could exceed the performance of a semiclassical setup based on coherent states and homodyne detection. Here we prove this is indeed the case by showing that an idler-free squeezed-based setup can beat this semiclassical benchmark. More generally, we show that probes whose displacement and squeezing are jointly optimized can strictly outperform coherent states with the same mean number of input photons for both the problems of quantum illumination and reading.

Idler-free multi-channel discrimination via multipartite probe states

The characterisation of Quantum Channel Discrimination (QCD) offers critical insight for future quantum technologies in quantum metrology, sensing and communications. The task of multi-channel discrimination creates a scenario in which the discrimination of multiple quantum channels can be equated to the idea of pattern recognition, highly relevant to the tasks of quantum reading, illumination and more. Although the optimal quantum strategy for many scenarios is an entangled idler-assisted protocol, the extension to a multi-hypothesis setting invites the exploration of discrimination strategies based on unassisted, multipartite probe states. In this work, we expand the space of possible quantum-enhanced protocols by formulating general classes of unassisted multi-channel discrimination protocols which are not assisted by idler modes. Developing a general framework for idler-free protocols, we perform an explicit investigation in the bosonic setting, studying prominent Gaussian channel discrimination problems for real-world applications. Our findings uncover the existence of strongly quantum advantageous, idler-free protocols for the discrimination of bosonic loss and environmental noise. This circumvents the necessity for idler assistance to achieve quantum advantage in some of the most relevant discrimination settings, significantly loosening practical requirements for prominent quantum-sensing applications.

Ultimate limits of thermal pattern recognition

Quantum Channel Discrimination (QCD) presents a fundamental task in quantum information theory, with critical applications in quantum reading, illumination, data-readout and more. The extension to multiple quantum channel discrimination has seen a recent focus to characterise potential quantum advantage associated with quantum enhanced discriminatory protocols. In this paper, we study thermal imaging as an environment localisation task, in which thermal images are modelled as ensembles of Gaussian phase insensitive channels with identical transmissivity, and pixels possess properties according to background (cold) or target (warm) thermal channels. Via the teleportation stretching of adaptive quantum protocols, we derive ultimate limits on the precision of pattern classification of abstract, binary thermal image spaces, and show that quantum enhanced strategies may be used to provide significant quantum advantage over known optimal classical strategies. The environmental conditions and necessary resources for which advantage may be obtained are studied and discussed. We then numerically investigate the use of quantum enhanced statistical classifiers, in which quantum sensors are used in conjunction with machine learning image classification methods. Proving definitive advantage in the low loss regime, this work motivates the use of quantum enhanced sources for short-range thermal imaging and detection techniques for future quantum technologies.

Idler-free channel position finding

Entanglement is a powerful tool for quantum sensing, and entangled states can greatly boost the discriminative power of protocols for quantum illumination, quantum metrology, or quantum reading. However, entangled state protocols generally require the retention of an idler state, to which the probes are entangled. Storing a quantum state is difficult and so technological limitations can make protocols requiring quantum memories impracticable. One alternative is idler-free protocols that utilise non-classical sources but do not require any idler states to be stored. Here we apply such a protocol to the task of channel position finding. This involves finding a target channel in a sequence of background channels, and has many applications, including quantum sensing, quantum spectroscopy, and quantum reading.

On quantum reading, quantum illumination, and other notions

In this brief review, we start by clarifying the crucial differences between three different protocols of quantum channel discrimination. In some recent literature, there has been confusion between the protocols of quantum illumination [, ], quantum reading [], and a scheme of communication within a discrete-variable quantum computer []. While all these protocols are based on the model of quantum channel discrimination, they have completely different applications and features, which is the reason why they have different names and should not be naively confused. We also discuss the notion of quantum reading capacity [] of an ensemble of quantum channels, clarifying how this is easily extended to an adaptive formulation and discussing the mathematical conditions under which it can be connected to the different notion of dense coding capacity [] of a quantum channel.

Experimental quantum reading with photon counting.

The final goal of quantum hypothesis testing is to achieve quantum advantage over all possible classical strategies. In the protocol of quantum reading, this is achieved for information retrieval from an optical memory, whose generic cell stores a bit of information in two possible lossy channels. We show, theoretically and experimentally, that quantum advantage is obtained by practical photon-counting measurements combined with a simple maximum-likelihood decision. In particular, we show that this receiver combined with an entangled two-mode squeezed vacuum source is able to outperform any strategy based on statistical mixtures of coherent states for the same mean number of input photons. Our experimental findings demonstrate that quantum entanglement and simple optics are able to enhance the readout of digital data, paving the way to real applications of quantum reading and with potential applications for any other model that is based on the binary discrimination of bosonic loss.

Reading is an important element in the process of learning Arabic and is one of the language skills. Reading helps students to absorb knowledge and increase interest in writing. Then qiraah can improve students' knowledge with vocabulary, sentences, and editors that can be used in speaking and writing skills. The fahmul maqruk is one of the subjects in the Insan Qur'ani boarding school which aims to enrich students in understanding the reading text. Through observations that the researchers did, it was found that second grade students of the senior high school did not yet master Arabic, especially reading skills. They can read Arabic texts, but do not understand it and are they are unable to answer quetions in the book text. Although the teacher has explained them some of the vocubulary in the book related to the text. This study aims to find out response of teacher and students at Insan Qur’ani Islamic Boarding School in teaching the language using this model and to find out the effectiveness of Quantum Reading model implementation to improve students in reading comprehension. The research method of this study is experimental research. Researcher conducted this study in a group called “One Group Pre-Test Post Test Design”. The result of this research is the teacher and students response in reading teaching using this model is excellent with the achievement of observation value of teacher activity is P = 87,5% between 81-100% with excellent category and observation value of students activity is P = 82,5% between 81-100% with excellent category too. And the aplication of this model effectuve to improve students’ ability in reading comprehension, the proof is that the value of T-test with p -value sig. (2-tailed) is smaller than the value of alpha ⍺ = 0,05 or (T-test < ⍺ = 0,05) with value is (0,000 < 0,05).
